Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Magical girl originated as a genre geared towards primary school to middle school aged girls, with bones thrown to other audiences, such as surprisingly intense plotlines or fluid, dynamic action sequences.

Precure is basically this to the core. The target audience is younger girls, but it also has a lot of dramatic moments(which really is good for both the target audience and the periphery demographics) and some pretty over the top action sequences.

Dramatic absolutely does not mean dark and it's a fallacy to think so.

Nanoha's darker moments aren't too horribly out of line and facilitate the story's triumphant moments. Overall it's not a dark series at all.

You can have dramatic moments and dark moments without making the entire series dark. Again, Precure actually does this even, though to a lesser extent(also depending on the season since they vary pretty greatly).

Like I said, I like Nanoha and Symphogear a lot. I'd like an RP that has a serious plot and antagonists, but isn't something overly-dark.

And nothing can really change my mind on Raising Project. I love the designs and the characters themselves seemed creative and fun but I feel like that makes the series even more wasteful.
My favorite kind of magical girl series is the type that's got a pretty serious main plot but not overly dark.

That's why my favorites tend to be stuff like Nanoha or Symphogear.
Typically magical girl series have very high stakes towards the end, like any given Precure series, Nanoha, Symphogear, Sailor Moon... Quite a few others, really.

In fact vaguely from what I know(Magical Girl Raising Project seems like a waste of really great designs and ideas to me unfortunately), they're all higher stakes then that one.
Akane shuffled a little awkwardly as she followed along with the older girl. Ah, that was so close... what would have happened if Katsura-senpai had found out? She didn't really know. The rulebook that Melody had shown her didn't actually say there was anything preventing a magical girl from being open about her identity, but nearly all the magical girls Akane followed were pretty secretive, even the ones who were high on the popularity polls. Even when a magical girl played herself as some kind of idol, they almost never showed their actual identity. Twitter accounts, websites, they were all set up with the intent of simply never revealing who was behind them. Even if there were no rules against it, Akane had wanted to follow this example, as a magical girl. To keep her identity secret. So Melody falling out of her bag had been so close it had really sort of scared her. She was thankful that it hadn't turned out badly.

"Ah? Um..." Akane paused for a moment. It wasn't exactly often that she had Italian food in the first place, so she hadn't formed a serious opinion on it as a whole. "I don't get to eat it very often, but it's usually pretty good when I do."
Goldibanne

Goldibanne swiveled her body, keeping her gaze locked firmly on the boy even as she straightened. The motion was so smooth it looked perfectly natural, making it easy to forget it, too, required a body without bones to perform. Standing more normally, Goldibanne looked more endearing then unnatural-Or so she hoped. The short brunette doll would much rather be seen as cute then disturbing, unless she wanted to seriously mess with someone.

"So you'd rather not be called a fairy?" she commented, cocking her head to one side as she did, "Goldibanne will remember that the cute little fairy doesn't want to be called what she is, then~"

The living doll let out a giggle, before eyeing the boy's right hand. Don't touch it? Why? It was a stupid thing to lie about, so there was no reason to doubt the warning. But... why was it a warning? Oh well. Placing her hands on her skirt and crossing her feet, Goldibanne curtsied to give herself a more formal introduction.

"Goldibanne is Goldibanne, yes," she elaborated, due to the boy's questioning, "Goldibanne is also a living doll, so thank you for the warning."

She placed a hand on her cheek.

"Ayame-sama would be so upset if anything happened to me~ Oh, but neither of you have told Goldibanne your names. Care to share? Or will Goldibanne have to guess?"

Fanilly found her trembling fists shaking. For a few moments she said nothing, glaring at the offending knights. This glare was now directed at Klaus, as well. Torture? Torturing a girl who knew nothing? Torture was not an act of the Iron Roses. Fanilly would not accept torture. Never had the Iron Rose Knights accepted it before, and they would not under her. In a strange way, her confidence was briefly bolstered simply by how angry she felt in this moment.

"Gillian. Umbra. Klaus," she said, flatly, "We'll be having a talk once we return to Candaeln."

Trying to choke her anger back down, Fanilly turned to the rest of her knights. Tiral had scried the location of the meeting, and handed the note back to her. Therefore, that meant that they likely had to work quickly in order to had any chance of success.

"Iron Roses, there's no time to waste. We'll need to make our way to the Shrine immediately," she said, simply. "And we'll be keeping Lady Cal close in order to protect her from any possible kidnapping attempts."

Veileena immediately frowned.

"Hmph. As long as I have Haelstadt, there's no way I'm going to be escorted like that," she complained, "I don't need it. As long as my heart beats, Haelstadt will make sure no-one can do me any harm."

The bandit sat in the cart in silence. This was one of the most confusing, terrifying, and painful days in her entire like. When someone had mentioned she attempted murder, she weakly shook her head. She hadn't! She really hadn't! When she saw people were actually trying to kill one another she panicked and stayed back. She didn't even know that killing anyone had been on the menu, let alone so much death. Okay, the kidnapping was a valid accusation but... but she hadn't tried to kill anyone!

It didn't take too long to reach the shrine. There, it was apparent that age and distance from any city or village rendered it difficult to care for it. The venerable structure was old and worn, and moss clung to it. Carvings of the moon were frequent across its surface, and a simple pool of water laid beneath the small roof.

Wild roses grew in abundance around it.
I have a suggestion for handling worlds, especially given a lot of people are playing multiple characters.

Split people up sometimes to tackle multiple worlds. This will be especially useful if you let players handle worlds they know more about then you do. ^^;
Amalie Georg Faust, Caster - Scandinavia

Caster smiled brightly at the guard who had waved to Gretchen and herself, and then gave swift smile to her Master as well as she was placed back on her feet, cheerfully hugging Gretchen close to her chest. However, there wasn't much time for lightheartedness. Wolves, and not just any wolves but huge demonic ones at that. Of course, it wasn't exactly Caster's forte to try and take them on directly, and so instead she began to gather prana... and reach out...

Slowly, a mist started to gather around the little girl...

Edeltaud, meanwhile, did not hesitate in her next action. Her first move was an attempt to break up the wolf back and split them apart. That is, send herself hurtling feet-first towards one of the wolves to kick it as hard as she could, to bring as much force of impact as possible. If she broke apart the pack they could be easier to fight...

Arturia Pendragon, Saber - Babylonia

At the moment, Saber's focus was entirely on the battle at hand. With every stroke of Excalibur's cloaked form, another skeleton, or frequently more, fell to pieces. With every step, she advanced further into the enemy line. The skeletons were designed, it seemed, for numbers rather then overall strength. They would charge her, and in seconds she would clear another circle and leave nothing but broken bones. And yet, it seemed that the invading force's leader was drawing closer and closer. A tall, dark figure astride one of the skeletal elephants, a Servant himself, though Saber could not determine who simply by looking upon him. In her mind, her next course of action was an obvious one.

While her knowledge of Magecraft was hardly indepth, she could guess that this army of constructs was linked to the leader. And, as a result, if she could defeat their leader the army would likely soon follow.

She would make her advance towards him, and challenge him.

Yet more and more skeletons fell as the King of Knights pushed her way through the vast army. A skeletal elephant made its charge for her, its feet smashing other skeletons beneath it. Saber swiftly ducked low and charged herself, stopping seconds before colliding with the elephant in order to swing her weapon up in an arc and slice through the bone of the elephant's leg, sending it toppling to the side as it did.

She followed up with an upwards strike, slicing through the construct's skull.

I'll probably be posting later today or tomorrow.
"A picture?" Kitty asked, "Well, I guess I could try, but..."

Bunny almost immediately picked up the slack when Kitty trailed off.

"She's a terrible artist, so don't bother."

"H-hey!" Kitty protested, stepping forward and pointing her finger at her partner, "That's not it at all! It's just because he's going to be here in about a half an hour! If they wait, they'll meet him anyway!"

Well that was certainly some interesting and fortuitous information.

"So, that means the vase is still here, then?" Toshiko asked. Bunny nodded.

"It is, we were waiting for him to arrive," she explained.
