Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Goldibanne

"Talk later?" Goldibanne asked, cocking her head slightly to one side with a click, "I guess I'll look forward to it, En~ter~tain~er-san~ It better be worth pulling Goldibanne away from Ayame-sama."

She let out a giggle, one that seemed slightly more sinister then it should have by any rights, before glancing around at her surroundings. So many interesting people... Of course, the living doll's ultimate and above all goal was her return to Ayame, but at the moment she might as well try personally introducing herself to a few of the people around. There was no harm in doing such a thing, and whatever the Entertainer wanted, well... If it wasn't satisfactory, it paid to know who everyone was so they could band together and dole out a little justice before leaving.

As such, Goldibanne bent slowly backwards, taking a position rather similar to ballet. It didn't look unnatural, unless you realized that her current pose, one leg in the air, would likely require a lack of a spinal column. Just behind her was a spikey-haired boy with some kind of tiny girl with him. A fairy? If this was another reality, fairies weren't exactly out of the question... to be truthful, they weren't out of the question back home, either.

"Hi there~" Goldibanne greeted him, holding her position, "Goldibanne's name is Goldibanne~ Your little fairy is rather cute~"

Konpaku Youmu

Youmu watched for a few moments, confused, as the swirly-headed man offered her different beverages before finally handing her a glass of water. She hadn't the foggiest idea what was going on, and to reflect her confused expression her phantom half wavered beside her, drifting from side to side as the girl attempted to understand what was happening. He had mentioned Yuyuko-sama... so was this Gensokyo? But she'd never seen any sort of yokai that had a head replaced by swirling, spiraling mist. Why did he know Yuyuko-sama's name, and speak about her in such a familiar fashion as if he had known of her for so long? She knew for certain Yuyuko-sama had never met someone like this before. And yet they were not within Gensokyo. Of course, many people knew of her mistress in Genosokyo, but... none of these people looked like anyone who came from there.

She shifted on her feet awkwardly. There were so many... so many unusual people like she had never seen before. Though she did think she caught a glimpse of the pink-haired satori, at least someone she recognized if nothing else.

"... Yuyuko-sama..."

Regardless of the circumstances, Youmu had to return to Yuyuko-sama's side. This unquestionable duty was paramount above all else, and therefore all she needed was to know what she had to do in order to return.

"... All I need is to return to Yuyuko-sama's side."

Rem

Rem lowered her flail slightly. It was not due to the fact that she entirely trusted the situation, it was more due to the fact that she didn't understand what was happening. The maid that everyone was talking about? Why did this swirly faced person speak about her like that? She was simply a maid, and certainly not as noteworthy as her sister... The blue-haired girl averted her eyes slightly. She didn't know how to feel about the idea of people talking about her. Who was doing it...? Why were they doing it...? It wasn't something that Rem could understand at the moment.

All she wanted to do right now was return. The concern she had already been feeling for Subaru, and for her sister, had only magnified now that she had been taken to some strange, unfamiliar face surrounded by such strange, unfamiliar people. Her weapon was lowered, but not put away. Rem was still prepared to fight at a moment's notice.

Unable to figure out what to do next, Rem hesitated for a moment before finally deciding to do something simple.

"My name is Rem, please return me."
Akira is so tsundere she's tsundere about being tsundere.
"... S-speech patterns? L-like that'd ever happen, you idiot!"

To be fair, prior to becoming a little elf girl, Akira had been quite a surly guy with a sarcastic streak. But it wasn't entirely likely that he'd ever have voiced his dissatisfaction in quite that manner. Now she had, well, rattled off quite the tsundere line with quite the tsundere reaction. However, the tiny elf wasn't about to acknowledge the way she had just reacted so openly. Instead of winding up for a chop to whatever part would hurt and was easily accessible, Akira simply folded her arms with a huff. Such a reaction did come awfully naturally to her, it seemed.

"Well whatever," she began, "If I'm going to have to deal with this-"

The tiny blonde elven girl gestured to herself.

"-Then I might as well see whatever the guild wants. Hopefully it won't be nearly as humiliating."

With that, Akira turned on her heel and marched right for the doors of the guild, without even a moment of hesitation more. She wasn't in the mood to wait around any longer.
Rem

There were a few moments where the blue-haired girl could not understand where she was. One moment, she had been on a cart travelling towards the capital, and the next... She was here. So many people, some dressed unusually or looking highly unusual, surrounded her... One insidious thought filled her mind. Was this the doing of the Witch Cult? Actions came before thought, and in quick succession she had raised her flail, the chain rattling loudly as the enormous spiked ball at the tip swung from side to side. Clutching the weapon, Rem prepared herself. If this was an attack, even if she couldn't understand what happened, she would fight as hard as she could to slay as much of the cult as was at all possible.

And yet... as she had a moment to think, she realized she did not detect that terrible smell, the scent of the Witch. Indeed, it was absolutely and totally absent. For a few moments, the blue-haired girl stood silently. What did this mean? What had happened? Was Subaru okay? Was her sister okay? Where was everyone else? A myriad of concerns played through the maid's mind as she tried to understand what had occurred. Was there something she had somehow forgotten?

The explanation from the faceless thing didn't help to clarify what was going on whatsoever. At the very least she thought she could rule out the Witch Cult, but...

Why had she been taken away? What if something happened? What if...

Gripping her flail tightly, yet to put it away, Rem's next question was more to the point, lacking the politeness of a maid... for the moment.

"What is the meaning of this?"
They have a book of rules.

Also I'll post again after a few more posts this time.
I think everyone will chill out.
Honami Aoi

"G-giant teddy bear?!"

Everything had felt so wrong, and it still felt wrong coming from that enormous teddy bear, but Aoi couldn't help but stare at the giant stuffed toy in mute shock. It wasn't as if weird things didn't happen in the Imaginary District all the time, but an enormous animate teddy bear was a bit of a stunning site to say the least. For a few moments, the satori was a bit distracted to realize that Hiraku had said anything, but she eventually managed to snap herself out of that state and refocus on the task at hand. Aoi had to help out in any way she could! Even if she couldn't fight...

Concentrating, Aoi's antenna twitched several times as she tried to detect anything unusual. Aside from the strange corruption in the teddy bear and the neigh-unreadable noise coming from the townsfolk, she couldn't discern anything else.

The yokai shook her head.

"I can't find anything else. That's our only target!"

Aoyama Makiko

Sayuri smiled up at Suzuka brightly, but that was all interrupted when the huge teddy bear rose out of the midst of the stalls.

For a few moments, Makiko's eyes were wide with surprise, but she quickly placed one hand on the hilt of her katana and glanced back over her shoulder at the tennin and the little girl.

"Suzuka-san, try and get Sayuri-chan to the lost child's station as quickly as you can, and then come back!" Makiko declared, as she noticed the huge teddy bear stumble briefly. She could already see some people were attacking it, good! "We're going to stop it before it can do any serious damage!"

She gave the tennin and the frightened little girl a bright smile, before her attention returned to the enormous stuffed toy rather quickly. The ofuda pinned to the inside of her skirt let out a faint reddish glow, and she felt power flow into her legs. With that, she was off like a rocket, heading right for the massive and strange monster.

The teddy bear quickly rebounded from the kick to its soft and fuzzy head. The kick had done... basically nothing aside from slightly delay its move forward, as it took a step to begin advancing. No sooner then it had, however, then did golden flames erupt up its leg, scorching the artificial fuzz. Wordlessly, it raised one soft arm and swung it downwards in a bid to disrupt its attackers. And then... chains up its other leg? The teddy tugged, the chains already straining, but they managed to hold for now.

Expressionless, as would be expected from a stuffed toy, the teddy kept attempting to move as the oni suddenly grasped one of its legs, forcing it to steady itself as it was shifted. While no serious damage had been done yet, the advancing threat was for now rendered immobile.

  • Appearance: Anime reference sheets wheeee
  • Name: Rem
  • Sex: Female
  • Franchise: Re:Zero
  • Special Abilities/Powers: Rem is capable of utilizing water magic, and in spite of her self-deprecating statements in that regard she is still in a lower high level of skill with it. The various applications thereof include ice magic, which allows her to make spikes of ice of varying size that can be used as projectiles, or freeze small objects, and the capability to heal injuries to some extent. However, she is not among the best healers even within the household she serves. Rem is also far stronger then her physical appearance would indicate, and this is entirely due to her race. Rem is not, in fact, human, instead being an oni. Her base physical strength, healing capability, and endurance are higher as a result of this. She can also cause her horn to appear, which causes her to enter a state of heightened strength, agility, and endurance, as well as causing her to absorb mana from the atmosphere. However, this state also can cause her to enter a berserk mindset, especially when active for prolonged periods of time.
  • Equipment: Rem carries a huge morningstar with an exceptionally long chain. Its weight and strength of impact allows it to smash through most foes in an incredibly violent fashion.
  • History:
  • Personality: Rem tends to speak in a manner that could be considered 'superficially polite', something especially apparent when she is with her sister. In spite of this superficial politeness, she still dedicates herself wholeheartedly to being a perfect maid, much of this motivation due to her feelings of guilt towards a past incident involving her sister. She wishes to make up for such a thing by being a perfect maid who can do everything for her sister and for Roswaal L. Mathers, the man they work for. While these feelings of guilt have not been erased, they have been considerably lessened. The same goes for her feelings of inferiority towards her sister, which have also come to influence her life considerably less since she fell in love with Natsuki Subaru. The two people in the world she cares most for are her twin sister and Subaru. Her dedication is absolutely unfailing. In spite of being more soft-spoken and demure then her sister Ram, Rem is still prone to minor teasing of others in some occasions. Finally, Rem can enter a berserk state when using her oni nature directly, causing her to become far more violent in behavior.

I am my own senpai and yes I know there's stuff not in the anime with Rem I don't know it and am therefore not including it directly I will leave it vague no spoiling. D:
Goldibanne

The question had been met rather swiftly with a resounding yes. At least from the exceptionally pale, rather short girl, who looked all the world like a human... except typically humans did not have seams or visibly jointed limbs. There was a faint clicking sound as she cocked her head to one side, grinning widely. How ever could she say no to something like this? Certainly, perhaps Silvabelle(she would have liked to to see Silvabelle stuck in such a confusing scenario, really...) would have been better suited to something like this... but Goldibanne had no shortage of confidence in herself.

"Haah, so many people~" she declared cheerfully, twirling on her heel with an excited look upon her face eyes, her golden eyes wide with wonder. At no point in her existence had she ever contemplated the existence of other worlds, nor expected she would meet people hailing from them. So, wasn't wonder an appropriate reaction? Of course it was. Even if this was such a serious situation, judging by what she had been told by the girl who had faded away to let the building work. "Goldibanne thinks it's a bit presumptious to assume your matters are more important, but she won't complain~"

Placing her heels together and cocking her head to one side, she clasped her hands behind her back, still smiling cheerfully as she did. Naturally, there was only one appropriate thing to do, now.

"Goldibanne thinks this is a good time for everyone to introduce themselves!"

Konpaku Youmu

It was a complex dance, in a way. Something that the white-haired girl was used to performing. And yet, no matter how many times she had done the steps, she continued again and again. She was still in training. No matter how accomplished she became, she could always improve. she still hadn't reached Grandfather's level. To truly live up to her family name, she had to keep practicing.

Her katana cut the air, the misty form of her phantom half elegantly whirling through the air as the water fell around her. Roukanken's edge struck a single droplet and parted it. Than another. Than another.

Konpaku Youmu sheathed her blade as the water fell around her. Without pause, she drew Hakuroken. In a single motion, she cut three more droplets of water before they could hit the ground. The wakizashi was sheathed in an instant on her hip. Youmu straightened. The number of droplets had nearly doubled, her blades slicing them through so swiftly that she increased the amount. And yet this wasn't enough. No, if she wanted to reach Grandfather's level, she had to train harder. Placing one hand lightly on Roukanken's hilt, the small girl looked up. Myon followed her gaze. The second bucket was hanging from a thin pole of metal, supported between two wooden struts. Myon shot forward and struck the bucket, flipping the contents and letting the water fall out.

First, to divide it into droplets. Youmu drew Roukanken and swung it upwards, the blade and rushing air parting the falling liquid. In a flash, she had sheathed it again, shutting her eyes.

Then...!

Youmu opened her eyes, and just barely stopped herself from drawing the blade when she realized her surroundings were no longer the gardens of Hakugyokurou. Indeed, if she drew her blade in this moment she likely risked harming someone, as she was surrounded by people. And that weird swirly-headed man... that was...
