Upper limit for age would be 18 with being discovered. It also depends what kind of descendant your character is. An actual demigod is going to be affected earlier than a dormant. Divine Gift is something basic that your parentage gave you like Percy Jackson being able to control water. Signature Ability is what your character will develop at Elysium Academy with training…if they get there that is. @Lyla :)

When rescuers finally found him, he was surrounded by melted concrete, stopped watches, and bodies frozen mid-motion. He never forgot the silence. Personality Summary:
Lyssa Marrow was adopted at six months old. She had been left in front of a hospital with nothing more than silver shroud for a blanket. Her vibrant hazel eyes enchanted the doctor who found her, and soon he and his wife became her adoptive parents. She has always kind have kept to herself only having a small group of friends growing up. Lys has always had a natural distrust of others and avoids eye contact quite frequently.

Awakening Event:
Lyssa was attending a night event at Saint Agnes Museum of Antiquities to gain credits for her GED through a local community college. This event showcased newly rediscovered Greek artifacts from a submerged temple excavation. The exhibit include partially shattered statues, relics that had been damaged by water, and a fractured mosaic of Medusa depicting her before Athena turned her.

Lyssa became physically sick the moment she entered the hall. Her nose began to bleed and vertigo started to kick in, followed by whispers that no one else seemed to hear saying,"...secrets beneath the water..." Once she was calmed down, her nosebleed stopped, and she was able to think clearly, she tried to find her group. Lyssa found a group of older male students vandalizing the Medusa mosaic.

One grabbed her while another mocked Medusa saying, "She probably deserved it." Then the first one began to touch Lyssa inappropriately. That's when she snapped. Security cameras froze, lights shattered, and water pipes burst without reason. Witnesses reported that they heard the screams of two young men. The two young men reported that the shadows around them twisted into serpents and feeling like they were paralyzed. What makes matters worse, the young man who had tried to hold Lyssa down ended up with partial petrification on his right arm. It wasn't of stone, but of crystallized marble. Workers reported the broken pipes and several of the statues pertaining to the Medusa exhibit and the respective mosaic had streaks of black seawater residue.

Government Threat Level:
CRIMSON- Described as a "possible mythological convergence" and personally investigated by Director Voss.

Adoptive Parents: Graham and Crystal Marrow. Graham is a general surgeon at the local hospital and Crystal was a school teacher before they had found Lyssa, but became a stay-at-home mom once they adopted her. They could be described as overprotective at times, feeling like they were constantly being watched, especially by owls.
Biological Parents:
Currently, unknown. What Lyssa has found out is that she is a descendant of Medusa.
Threnos:
Threnos is a blind Marble Children's Python that Lyssa gravitated towards when she was ten years old. Threnos is mostly white with grayish-brown scales sprinkled throughout and gets around by scent and sound. Lyssa's adoptive parents were less than thrilled when she picked out said creature at the pet store as they had expected her to get a guinea pig, not a snake.
