Violet Braddock

Violet smiled when Griffin came back. Her expression changed to a slight blush when he growled and spoke to Jasper and Hachi the way he did. He seemed quite willing to be on the protective duty even with her. She looked like she might say something else to the brothers but she looked at Griffin instead. She understood his protective side and she kind of liked it. She figured she would ask him a question, so she sat on the table and swung her legs over and slid onto the bench next to him.

Violet looked him square in the eye and asked him "So are you a dog person or a cat person? I'm a dog person. I miss my puppy already. My mom said I'm an animal lover because they give unconditional love. She also says that I'm one of those touchy, huggy people. I guess she is right about that because I've already hugged and kissed you." Violet blushed. "I guess it's obvious that I went to private school. Not enough interaction with others." She quit talking for a moment and closed her eyes. She used her TK to lift herself into the air and dance with an invisible partner. "Griffin would you dance with me?"

Zach reached for the covers as he kicked his shoes off the bed. He barely managed to get a hold of the covers with his good hand. "Baby, cover up. I don't want you getting cold." As sleep overtook him he pulled her closer to him and he held her tightly to him. He slept the deep sleep of those injured or deathly ill. He woke up once in the middle of the night to find her sleeping in his arms and he smiled as he dozed back off.

Matt woke up in a fog. He could hear screaming. His head hurt but all he could think was get up Kat needs you. He got to his feet and his head cleared enough to realize that he heard Gracie screaming. He turned around and stabbed a walker that was in front of him now. Pushing past it he ran over top of the debris.

The smoke in the stairwell was getting thicker and Matt saw his baby girl. His eyes only registered her, a fire and walkers. He knew Kat had to be there too. Matt ran through the doorway and jumped. it was about a 20 foot leap down but he rolled and made it only twisting his ankle a little. "Gracie!" he scooped his little girl up and she clung to him tightly screaming her head off. Matt looked down and saw Kat. She was turning. "Awe baby...no.." Matt cried. If Gracie hadn't been there crying he would have stayed there with Kat and died there with her. He checked Gracie out for bites and injuries and he wouldn't let her look at her mommy anymore and he zipped her into his jacket so she wouldn't see anything. He slipped a knife into Kat's head and kissed her forehead. Matt proceeded to get to his feet and he ran through the falling rubble passing everyone else. He had to get Gracie out of there. She was all he had of left of Kat.

Nikki looked up as Matt stumbled through the doorway. He was coughing. Nikki ran to him and hugged him tight til she heard the baby and pulled Gracie out of his jacket. She looked up at Matt and she knew Kat was gone. He couldn't stop the tears. "Nik she's gone." Nikki was being clung to by Gracie and by Matt. Nikki looked around and saw Ingrid's face as she realized Kat was gone. Ingrid turned right around and stabbed the next walker right in the face. "MATT!" Nikki yelled at him. "Fight the walkers with me." Matt nodded and the fury rose up in him and he took out his fury at losing Kat on the undead. Nikki just held Gracie and worked on soothing her. Nikki climbed into the truck with Jon and she eventually got Gracie to go to sleep. By that time the baby was hiccuping in her sleep and she was having bad dreams. Nikki knew this because every time she got scared she would pull Nikki's hair.
