No GM post this week, since I'm still waiting on a bunch of ya to respond to Bernie.
Hey guys I'm sorry for the delay, but I will try to get a post up this weekend. This has been not a fun week.

Same. Been sick ever since Wednesday last week, and I'm still not 100% recovered. :/
At least it's getting better... I think...
In case anyone might wonder, private messaging-player @Ducksworth has had their character approved via PMs and is free to post their toon in the charaters tab. No need for any riots.

Now bakc to bed and sleeps to fight the sick. x_x
There we go.

Bernard is in the house. Quite litteraly.
If you don't have questions or concenrs to ask, just walk on up to the greeter and let him know you're good to go. Once everyone is ready, he'll guide you along to the BIG THING.
Paragon city

-- Atlas Park: City Hall --

@baraquiel @Azure Bubbles @Shoopuf @Birdboy

For those brave heroes-to-be who had actually entered the structure proper, they would find themselves in the rather lavish lobby of the city hall. It was a spacious, rectangular room, with stone floors made out of large, for-the-most-part-clean slate grey tiles. Rectangular, neutral colored and pattternless carpets covered most of the floor though. There were four large columns too, one in each corner, along with several larger potted, leaft plants - and they weren't plastic! Additionally, the ceiling was home to several square-shaped light-fixtures, which illuminated the large room in a healthy and bright atmosphere. Some walls also had paintings - of various things, including landscapes, portraits and... Abstract... art. There was even a small fash-tank over on the east-most wall, complete with a little astle and several different types of small, decorative fish.

But, all of that aside, the real meat and bones was the two other things present in the lobby. The frankyl absurd amount of stools, chairs and benches for people to sit and wait on, and the large, rounded, semi-circle reception at the center of the room. Behind the counter, tapping away at a keyboard and glaring at a computer screen - not even registering the newly arrived heroes - was a woman, who seemed to be in her early to mid fourties. She was wearing a business dress of tan coloration. Perhaps the reason she wasn't paying attention though was the small sign-plaque that was hung on the very front of the reception counter, which read:

Reception closed to the Public: 8 AM - 11 AM.
New Hero Orientation Day.

Ah. This would explain the complete lack of disgruntled citizens who were waiting in line or in the seats, hoping to file cmplaints and grievances with the city. Instead, apart from the small team of toddler-do-gooders, there was only one other person in the lobby. A girl, in the same strange costumed get-up as the others, though she was sitting on one of the chairs rather than standing up and speaking to the rest. Her outfit consisted of a skin-tight bodysuit, which showed off her curvature quite well, along with a pair of strange, electronic goggles sat over her eyes, covering the upper half of her face. Apart from taht, she had bright blonde hair that had been tied into a low ponytail. Still, she didn't seem too interested in chatting, as the caramel-skinned heroine hadn't even turned her head or looked oiver at the other fresh-faced super heroes even once.

But perhaps she was just shy. Or nervous about what was to come. Or had a speech inpedement. Or perhaps she was just a total ice queen and didn't deem her peers worhy of her glorious presence? Who could really tell? Nobody, without asking, that's for sure! Unless you were a mind-reader, duh.

Stilll, nobody had a chance to really approach her, as, when the clock struck 9:00 AM sharp, the western-most door of the lobby opened. Oh, did we not mention that? The lobby had doors for each cardinal direction. The entrance/exit was located on the southern wall, which was where the heroes had entered in through.

But back to the other door that just opened.

Out of it stepped...! ... A rather... Boring-looking man. A balding, below-average-height man, wearing thick black framed glasses and a really, really dull grey suit. Yet, despite his ra´her plain and forgettable appearance, he seemed to have a warm expression on his face, and he walked with both confidence and purpose, striding up to the reception counter and turning to face the south part of the lobby, looking at all the gathered youngsters presenet. He cleared his throat with a quick cough, then spoke with a clear and familiar voice.

"Well now, I'm glad tos ee everyone made it on time. It's good to see you all again. For those who don't remember, I'm Bernard, the greeter here in city hall."

Oh yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah... Now he seemed familiar. This was the old guy who had guided them all around back whenever they took the written and interview-part of the Sanctioned Hero Exam. The man smiled and clapped his hands togther infront of him to gain more attention.

"Now then, before we move on to the main event, are there any questions or concerns any of you would like to ask before we move ahead? Don't be shy, ask anything if it's on your mind." Oh, and can you all gather up here, with me? Thank you."

As he said, the girl in the bodysuit and goggles rose almost immeidately form her seat. She proceeded on over to stand near the old, middle-aged man, but still didn't say anything. Perhaps she just didn't have any questions or concerns to voice? But what about you? This was your one chance to ask any nagging little inquiries before you got to enter the big league, after all.

So, what do you do now?
Nice! Let me know if you think of anything else to change. I'll move the sheet over when I get home.

Well, you should add the description of his height, hair and eye color.
@Birdboy
Yup, that looks better.
APPROVED! Feel free to post him in the Charcters Tab and get to IC-postage.

EDIT:

Oh, and I'll get a GM post to advance stuff up this Friday or during the weekend.
Yeah, I have like... No clue about the NPCs. I keep having to go back to to the first OOC post just to check up on how actually spell Kapoc's name every single time I need to mention him in the IC. :P

So having a full NPC list is probably a good idea for a birdbrain like me. ^^;
@Birdboy
At the moment, there are several reasons for why I cannot accept your character.

1. Neither your civilian faceclaim/picture, nor your hero form image,are showing up - and you left the 'Description' field blank - meaning I have no idea what your character looks like.

2. As Uiop said, you've chosen the "Defender" archetype for your hero, yet you've made them appear to be more of a frontline fighter/tank. Which is what the "TAnker" archetype is. Your abilities, while not being unacceptable on their own, also does not seem to particularly favor the "buffing" or "debuffin" mechanics and style of the Defender-archertype. Now granted, archetypes are just guidelines, and people are free to slap whatever powers they want down in their list, but it seems odd to choose a class and then try to make it like another one, when that other class already exists.

3. Your supplementary power should be void of any powers, this is stated in the Example Character Sheet. Furthemore, the powers described in there should be part of your primary power, as it is the magic sword taht bestows those abilities and boons onto your character, not some random, outside, unrelated force or reason.

4. Your character's weaknesses. In particular, the one that invovles the sentient sword judging its wielder to be 'worthy'. As you've given no information on the "personaltiy" or "Ideology" of this enchante sword, there's no way for me, as a GM; to make use of this weakness and instead it is left entirely up to your discretion. While I like to give people the benefit of the doubt to not power-game or abuse trust, I do also like to have tangible ways to actually have my NPCs actually being able to impact your character negatively.

5. Civilian skills. While not an issue in any way, shape or form on its own, its the phrasing and implication of the skill. The way you've written it makes it sound like every single hero and villain in Paragon City has their own comic books, animated TV series, web-wikis, merch and social media feeds. This is not the case. There are plenty of obscure heroes and villains who the general public don't know anything about in the city. Only the "big names" make it to stardom and public recognition. For much of the rest, most superheroes are just trated as third-party police officers or rescue services, with most civilians having no idea what their hero-name is.

6. On a personal level, I feel like Dermont's reasoning and rationale for moving to Paragon City and becoming a hero is a bit lacking. He basically found a talking sentient sword during an outdoors roleplaying session, ditched the entire event mid-session and then just up and left to go be a hero in another city, without any sort of mention of his motivations or feelings or reasons for it. He just did it. Why? Because he found a magic sword that talks and gave him cool powers? Wouldn't a nerd be more inclined to keep using the blade for LARP'ing or to sit at home, in their parents' basement, and interview and try to talk and interogate their new "friend" on their past and powers and other things? It all seems so... Sudden... And forced. This last point isn't a deal breaker or anything, it just feels - to me - a bit like, other than him having admiration for heroes and villains, Dermont doesn't really have a reason for going to Paragon City, other than "I just gained magic powah! Better rool into PC I guess!".

And there you have it. While some of the above points are mere personal thoughts and opinions on the sheet, there are issues with it that, for the time being, prevents Dermont from being accpeted into the RP.

You're welcome to address or debate these concerns f course and try again if you so wish.
