Depending on the plot, this could be an interesting roleplay. I'll keep an eye on this.
@scifidude47

No problem, there have been times where I can be busy as well. I'm just glad the RP is still going.

I was waiting for Karos to post since he said he was moving, but I didn't want the RP to die so I thought I'd make a post. This is a fun roleplay and I hope it goes on.

Calvin was excited that his bus was working. He didn’t expect a hug and a compliment from Pam though. The boy honestly wasn’t sure what to make of this woman; on the one hand, there was something strange about her and she seemed at least a bit aloof. On the other hand, Cato did say she was alright. Maybe she was just shy or something? He’d have to get to know her better.

“Thanks Pam,” Calvin responded pleasantly. He looked at her and was about to say something else, but the kid saw something in the corner of his eye. Calvin looked at Cato, said “hey Cato, look at this,” and then proceeded to point at the guy jogging towards the bus while apparently pulling a woman.

The kid then rolled down the driver’s seat window and yelled in their direction. “Hey! What do you want!?” In case the answer wasn’t one he liked, Calvin had his foot hovering over the accelerator pedal.
@RumikoOhara I used your character very slightly just for the purposes of having the RP flow a little better and not having to make two posts that would essentially be Calvin not interacting with anyone. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but let me know if it is.

Calvin could see a little irritation on Pam’s face when she responded to him. He guessed that she was afraid of catching something? Whatever. The boy just shrugged and walked over to Pam, thanking her and taking the step she had offered him. He thought that she would literally lift him up, but again, whatever.

The kid then opened up the lid on top of the engine to reveal what was inside. It didn’t look bad, but Calvin knew that this would need a little work to get it up and running. He then got to work on cleaning up the engine, fixing minor flaws and so on.

He then stopped, asking Pam “stay right there for a second, okay?” She nodded and Calvin went to another nearby car to pull out a part that he needed. It wasn’t an exact fit, but with enough duct tape it would work. The boy then went back to the bus, using Pam as a lift once more and then installed the part on the bus.

With that, he stopped using his female footstep for now and went back to the driver’s seat, trying to run the vehicle again. This time, it started normally.

Calvin then proceeded to honk the horn on the vehicle and yelled “the bus is working!”
I'm in the same situation as Stitches, I don't think I'll have time for this RP either. Good luck with it!
You could make him be seized by the uncontrollable urge to cluck like a chicken and maybe even try to hatch Calvin

LOL

How does that work if Calvin isn't in an egg?
Cato, huh? Calvin knew that name, but just as he was going to say something about it, the man asked him about getting a new ride.

“Well, it’s wrecked for sure, so we’ll need a new one,” Calvin said, walking alongside Cato as he talked. The Taurus was totaled, so the kid had to wonder how much Cato knew about cars. Maybe the man was just being nice though. As they got to the bus, he added “I think we have a similar idea of what to do here.” Calvin then opened the doors to get on the bus and started looking for the keys. He could hotwire it if needed, but it would save some work if the keys were still around.

In fact, they were under the driver’s seat. Maybe the previous driver of the bus was in a rush and didn’t care about if he had the keys or not. Whatever the reason was didn’t really matter though. Now Calvin could test the bus to see if it started. Turning the keys, he heard a thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk noise. It wasn’t ideal, but at least the bus could be made to work, which was the goal.

Unfortunately, there was one obstacle that Calvin couldn’t surpass on his own; he was definitely too short to access the vehicle’s engine by himself. And since Cato was probably guarding the area or on lookout for something, the boy would need someone else’s help.

Getting out of the bus, Calvin yelled in Pam’s direction “hey Pam! Think you could give me a lift? I need to see the bus’s engine!”
@Karos @RumikoOhara

Cato probably couldn’t see it, but Calvin smiled when he said that this new girl was alright. This man seemed trustworthy, so Calvin would let this woman into their new group for now. He did notice that Pam didn’t answer one of Cato’s questions though. Something to keep in the back of his head, Calvin supposed.

After the woman introduced herself, Calvin said “I’m Calvin” and held out his hand for a handshake as well in Cato’s direction (since Pam didn’t seem to want to shake hands), asking him “what’s your name?”

Calvin glanced over Cato’s shoulder and saw a school bus that looked to be in fairly good shape. While the kid was paying attention to the older man, Calvin had to wonder if the engine worked. If so, their new group had a new ride, and if not...their new group would have a new ride soon enough.
