Alrighty, I'mma drop the two I've got in my back log of OCs and you tell me which you'd prefer @Sep.
Riven Je’and
Age: 36 Species: Human Initiate Trials: Having trained in the Dantooine Enclave as other members of her family had for generations, her trials consisted first of her knowledge of the Jedi Code by applying it in a series of situations that might call for its tenants. Her second test was a mock duel against a fellow initiate, his single blade against her double-bladed. Her final trial was to experience the Dark Side itself, aiding a fellow initiate who’d lost herself in her anger find her way back to the light. All these trials were passed with flying colors. Physical Appearance: When catching the light just right, and she hasn’t died her hair some other color, the dark brown looks almost golden in color. Currently, however, the eccentric master has dyed it purple. Lightsaber:Uses a double-bladed lightsaber with an orange blade. Skills: Trained in Shii-Cho, Shien/Djem So, and Ataru, she chose to specialize and nearly master forms IV and V, with a focus on Djem So as the possibility of dueling one of the Separatists lightsaber weilding leaders increased over the course of the war. She’s also a decent shot with a blaster, as sometimes charging the enemy line, lightsaber drawn just isn’t practical. Force Abilities: Along with a mastery of both pull and push, Riven has extensive mastery of many crowd control abilities, though the ability to lock even one opponent in a stasis field is difficult to master. Her most mastered ability, however, is a power known as Force Flame. Weaknesses: Confidence, focus, and strength are the attributes that Riven seems to exude, however, below this is a struggle with crippling depression and a certain level of social anxiety, though she’s learned how to deal with both to some degree. Being a Jedi, after all, doesn’t mean you’re perfect. Character History: Riven Je’and was born on the planet Dantooine to Terrance and Seraphine Je'and, both of whom were members of the planetary militia. By age four, however, she had been taken by the Jedi to Coruscant to train as an Initiate under Master Sinon. She had a natural affinity for it, however and picked up some tricks faster than others.
She trained tirelessly under Jedi Master Sinon’s tutelage under the other initiates and when the time came to build their sabers, she embraced the guidance of the Force and followed it. Upon the completion of her double-bladed lightsaber, and some follow up lessons, she took and passed the Initiate Trials alongside the other thirty initiates, but of those thirty, only 10 became Padawans, including Riven herself. From there, she traveled across the galaxy while training under a Nautolan Jedi Master named Runaan. He was as skilled as he was patient and she learned well under his tutelage, even beginning to find new ways to use her lightsaber to fight a variety of foes and fend off a number of creatures without having to overexert herself.
However, one thing that bothered her master was the hilt’s design. “It looks like something the ancient Sith would wield, combined with that of a Jedi’s weapon. Why would you build it to look like that?” Explaining that ignoring that the Sith were the balance to the Jedi and that she believed in maintaining balance when possible amazed the Nautolan, but he respected her wish to honor the entirety of the Force, as she did not have any desire to tamper with the Dark Side, merely acknowledge it.
In her twenty-fifth year, she was knighted after passing her Knight Trials and five years later, after brokering peace between two long time warring tribes on a planet on the edge of Wild Space, which the Jedi had been trying to broker peace on for six generations, she was granted the rank of master. She had trained only one Padawan before the outbreak of the Clone Wars three years later, a Mon Calamari named Troc Ruhde, who lead the 103rd Clone Infantry Division. Master Riven herself lead the 302nd Clone Assault Division, who was responsible for victories on less well known worlds of great strategic value. However, extended battle over the world of Manaan and on the surface required that the 302nd return to Coruscant for reinforcement and resupply. During this time, Riven went to the temple to rest up and meditate in relative peace until they were ready to move out again.
“Not all hope is lost, but the teachings of old are no longer enough.”
Name:Allira Korsan
Species: Mirialan
Age: 28
Appearance: Allira stands at five feet seven inches tall, but has a presence that demands your attention, though she isn’t hard on the eyes either. Her hair is white and is cut a few inches shorter than shoulder length with emerald green eyes.
Equipment:
Allira had always found the design of several of the saber designs within the Jedi Archives fascinating, but those that fed into her love of dueling were the most interesting. While many Jedi considered a saber that functioned for both anti-blaster and anti-saber archaic, as the Sith were wiped out and Dark Jedi detained, but the Mirialian had never been one to take history at face value. The hilt is made of Phrik for lightsaber to lightsaber combat and the blade is a teal color, with a special modification to make it seem as if the main blade is pulsing.
Wrist Mounted Comlink- As was common for Jedi generals to use during the Clone Wars, Allira has a com unit on her wrist, which also serves as a makeshift SOS buoy if needed.
Skills: Linguist-During her time as a Jedi and over the course of her time as a General in the Grand Army of the Republic, Allira picked up many different languages, and while she can only speak a handful fluently, she can understand many of them quite well.
Duelist-While the art of lightsaber vs lightsaber combat is considered archaic and outdated, Allira still took the time to master lightsaber dueling and combat to a high degree, especially Form II, Makashi and Form V, Shien/Djem So as well as Form VII, Juyo. This makes her a versatile duelist and a deadly combatant.
Combat Medic-Despite her specialty as a duelist, Allira is also a decent healer, knowing more about how to work medical equipment than expected as well as knowing a couple of Force abilities that heal as well.
Abilities: Telekinesis: Push, pull, Wave, Jump, name it, she can do it with a decent amount of skill, befitting a Knight of her role.
Force Heal- Due to her knowledge of medical equipment, she decided to learn Force Heal, as a way of pretreating anyone who was injured before a proper medic reached them or she could get them to a medical bay.
Force Stasis-A power that paralyzes the body of the target, leaving them conscious, but unable to move or speak. Non-lethal and good for keeping troublesome wildlife away.
Mind Trick-While not effective against droids, it was effective against the few organic crew members onboard Separatist ships. Knows other variations as well.
Force Speed-Uses the Force to give herself a temporary but powerful increase in sprint and reaction speeds. Lasts about ten seconds.
Weaknesses: Overprotective- Because of the loss of so many close friends, and her first Padawan, over the course of the Clone Wars, Allira has a hard time not making sure that all of the crew members of the ship are accounted for and in good health. Should a foe find out about this overprotection, she could be lured into any number of traps.
Mild PTSD- Despite having seen almost two and a half years of combat at the head of a Clone Legion, Allira still has flashbacks that will leave her a mess afterwards, making functioning on a normal level difficult for a few hours.
Duelist- While one of her greatest strengths, it’s also one of her greatest weaknesses. She’s shown little inclination of learning how to use a blaster and her ranged defense is weaker than her melee.
History:
Allira Korsan was born on her people’s home planet, Mirial. From a young age, she was raised with a strong sense of spiritual connection and knew more about the Force by the age of twelve than most Jedi younglings would come to know in their entire stay in the Jedi Temple and Enclaves. At fourteen, she was sent, at her own request to a teacher at a youth academy, to the Jedi, where she was tested and made a Padawan. Her time under her mentor and teacher, Jedi Master Jacen Kortell, another Mirialan, was just shy of four years, after which she joined the Order as a proper Knight after completion of her Jedi Trials.
It was seven years later, ten after the Trade Federation’s invasion of Naboo, that the Clone Wars were sparked. Even at the start of the war and before, the young girl showed an interest and mastery in lightsaber dueling that hadn’t been seen by many others in the Order since the Sith were still a serious threat nearly one thousand years before. In fact, when she had built her saber, she had built a crossguard saber, a design that, while not as elegant as the former Master Dooku’s curved saber was, was still effective for dueling and prevented many of the disarming techniques favored by other duelists. However, she was also a vocal advocate of teaching more dueling techniques far and wide, as she was far from convince that just because the archives said the Sith were gone, did not mean it was true.
And so it was that she spent much time in debate with many of the Order's masters when she wasn't in the process of perfecting her form and teaching the younglings who were interested in her classes. It was something of a point of contention, and so it was little surprise that she was chosen as general for a Clone legion when the Wars began.
When the Clone legions were introduced and generals chosen for each one, Allira was placed in command of the 172nd Infantry Brigade, alongside her Padawan, Jerna Harna, yet another Mirialan, and her Clone Commander, CC-2837, or “Breaker”. They saw over six major planetside battles during her time as general of the 172nd and numerous skirmishes and space battles, but the one that broke her was on the planet Arsama. Despite heavy losses to the 172nd and it’s mechanized support, the 83rd Mechanized Unit, the battle was turning into a victory. Reaching a crossroads, she split their forces between herself and Jerna, who was nearing ready for her Trials to become a Knight, while having Breaker go back to check on the wounded.
It was routine enough, regular check ins at five minute intervals so that if something were going wrong, they would know. And then it fell apart. The two groups came under attack from Commando Droids and Droideka squads, a number of clones falling before their respective Jedi could rally them and take to the front. As always, Allira was in the midst of them, her saber cleaving through the Droids that got in her way as she cut a path towards her padawan. She could hear the panic in her voice as she’d called return fire before the coms had cut, and it had caused a panic in Allira for the safety of her charge.
When she arrived, the sight was far from pleasant. The surviving clones were still gathering up the dead and wounded, many of the dead having been cut up by the commando droids's vibroblades, but she could find no sign of her padawan learner. She moved around until she found a group of commando droids slumped on top of something and, after moving them aside with the Force, fell to her knees in heartbreak. It had taken three droids, two from behind and one from the front, to defeat her student, their vibroblades impaling her through her chest and midsection, but they had been rendered into little else but scrap for their efforts. Allira had always, in the minds of her Masters, treaded dangerously close to the Darkside as she refused to keep the tight reign on her emotions most Jedi did. In this moment, there was evidence of why it was considered dangerous as she rose to her feet and strode towards the last of the Separatist forces, which had holed up in an old but sturdy mansion. Potshots were taken, but none hit, her lightsaber deflecting the bolts deftly back into the windows from whence they came, though she never knew if she’d actually hit their owners. She focused all her power on the structure before bringing it down, but she didn’t stop after it collapsed. She kept using the Force to shove it down, along with all the droids and a few Separatis supporters that had been inside it. After several seconds, she released, leaving nothing more than a crater, though it was small.
Afterwards, and after apologizing to Breaker, she resigned from her position of General for the 172nd and joined Master Azure on his exploration vessel, where she hoped to gain a sense of peace before returning to the battlefield. That never happened though, a few months into their voyage, she, as did every Jedi aboard the ship, felt the deaths of thousands of Jedi, and after deliberation, and a message recalling all Jedi to the temple being received, set course for Coruscant. Upon reaching the outer reaches of the Outer Rim, Master Kenobi’s message was received, and the ship now holds position in space, a new direction yet to be chosen as this betrayal from within has rocked the crew.
Allira feels that taking the fight to this new Empire is the best course, as the loss of her Padawan and all the other Jedi has left her wanting little more than justice for the fallen. And she has the dueling skills to do it.
Ryker snorted at Aviza's last comment as he turned to follow his assigned team down the right hand hall. "You just answered your own question, Fire Team Lead." With that, he turned his attention to moving down the hall, his SMG up and sweeping the sides. He didn't see any doors that lead from side rooms into their hall right away, but Forerunner structures rarely followed what Humans or the former Covenant races called practical design in his experience. Still, as they moved, he couldn't shake his sense of unease.
These URF members had been in this location for an extended amount of time, had had chances to learn the ins and outs of these buildings and the fastest routes to and from areas. If he was honest, as he moved down the hall, he wasn't convinced that they weren't already too late to catch the HVT and they were just hoping for leftover intel at this point. But then, perhaps the URF were confident that their numbers would hold out against their team, in which case, the joke was on them.
Damian sipped at the water after nodding, feeling what little bit of fatigue had started to set in already melting away from it. Finishing, he smiled appreciatively. "Well, I don't know that my problem and this Felix's problem are one in the same causation wise from what you've said, but I do appreciate the thought. I spoke with a magical doctor, I guess you could call him, and he said that my body never adapted to the magic power I'd accumulated over the years. So I'm bare minimum a decade behind the power I wield in terms of being able to withstand it and properly channel it."
Damian resumes walking as he speaks, matching pace with Ria so they could hear each other. "I mean, I don't blame my dad. Even when we faced enemy mages, the Border Control Unit had enough mages in it already that training me to be one seemed excessive, even to me. Hell, I spoke with an old friend of mine a couple months before joining Fenixtear, a Fire Make mage still in the unit, and even he said he'd never seen the issue before. So maybe there's something more going on for me?" He shrugs, absentmindedly reaching down and scratching Jaëger behind his ears. "Suppose it's something to investigate, eh?"
Listening to Shih speak as they walked, Ryker couldn't help but frown slightly behind his visor. So then I had made a solid suggestion about splitting up back there before the big firefight. Ah, hindsight's 20-20 as they say. He kept walking regardless of his thoughts and listened, tapping his helmet when the nav points popped up for a bit of an 'echo' on the hallway ahead, a nifty function he'd tinkered with after he realized he likely wouldn't even get a dumb AI to help him. "So what I'm getting is one way or another, we're going to have to split up here, because if we don't know which is which, we can't risk moving as the full unit if we're going to secure the HVT and any potential intel besides."
Standing on the path going to the left, Lucas stands ready to continue. "I'll go with this group, whoever that comprises of. I think one CQC specialist per group would be a good idea."
As Aviza moved to take care of her own injuries, Lucas remained relatively close even as he swept the perimeter with his DMR. In his experience, even when it seemed like things were finally finished, that was when they could go the most wrong with an unexpected cloaked enemy or two appearing form seemingly nowhere. If the SPARTAN IV was honest, he still had nightmares about that night, but it was neither here nor there for the mission, and he doubted they'd get ambushed up here. All the same, until he heard Aviza's helmet reseal, he remained vigilant, though her catching herself on his left shoulder almost knocked him off balance as he wasn't expecting it.
When she gave the order to move in, Ryker was right behind her, though when Ben asked if anyone could spare a weapon as he swapped for his SMG, he tossed the SPARTAN III one, along with three spare clips. "I'm running pretty low myself, so make 'em last." In hindsight, it probably would have been prudent to call for a resupply pod from their allies in the skies before moving in, but they had already entered the building, so it was a moot point now. Once they were in the first room through the first doorway from the ramp, Lucas would sweep right, his SMG up and on a swivel. "Be ready to flip to alternative visual modes. The rebels may cut the power to the structure to try and make it harder for us to see what we're doing."
He himself had never fought the URF specifically before the war with the Covenant had started, but when he started training as a SPARTAN IV, they had covered the tactics of all the enemies that Humanity had made over the years, from the URF to the Covenant to the Covenant Remnants that the Swords of Sanghelios were still trying to wipe out or force to surrender, so he could make a safe educated guess as to the tactics they'd run into here. "We should keep an eye out for an armory too. I imagine a number of us could use a resupply and we need more weapons better suited to this kind of close-quarters fighting."
