30,000 mp/s diamond spaghetti, mmkay, that's not getting accepted.

I was with you until you spat in the face of a true spaghettimancer by just masquerading as such, when really you were entering a super rail-gun.

The true question is if he can control yakisoba? jk

Evvie would be a good match against him because she couldn't be scalded by mere Mariana sauce at normal lava temperature and would eat his noodles because she's hangry during their fight. She may likely be able to chew diamonds so no problem there. His meatorball would be a good counter to her flying away.

That can be countered with a wave of boiling water. Then cut down the meatorball in small pieces, add some sauce and we can all have diner :P

It would be hard for someone to react to a 30000 mp/s attack ad summon boiling water to stop it, which would not have enough time to do much of anything, nor would they have time to summon this counter without having it always active in case the spaghetti shots out at them.

The point is its all layed out, there is a maximum level. I might have forgot to add in the extra concentration to move it that fast. Oh I can tone down the speed!

But it's all still within the ruleset.

Also wouldn't want a cook who can cook that fast and get people their shit out to them instantly? Make a fortune melon come on! You got the booze I got the noodles.

Yeah, but you can't send a bowl of noodles to the table, only the noodles. What I don't understand is why you couldn't make the character a reasonable power level. Was it really necessary to have diamond hardness noodles flying at 10% the speed of light? How do you expect any of the characters here to fight that? Who would even want to?

I wish more people would make characters fit for purpose. This is still an RP after all, regardless of its combativeness. You don't enter an adventuring party with the God of Hellfire, so why just because this is Arena do you need railgun spaghetti? You could have made a spaghetti-mancer who could twine the spaghetti like rope and whip it around at a fairly decent speed, say 100mph, and have a reasonable chance against most of the characters here. Why do you need so much power? Are all of you ShinRa guys compensating for something? It saddens me.

The character will be accepted, because it is within the boundaries of T8 (although the rail-gun aspect of the spaghetti is really pushing it, depending on how much spaghetti you can launch) but I still don't understand why it's necessary.

@LeeRoy By the way, been meaning to tell you but keep forgetting, but Liu's tavern is called Chen's tavern, not Shen.

He says he has to concentrate, so we must also assume there is a decent acceleration period to it, so like at closer ranges it would be more like dodging an arrow.

He could move the bowl of noodles with it by having a strand wrapped around the bottom until it reaches its destination.

Let's face it, if he was going to have the noodles move that fast he would have said as fast as an arrow. They might as well not be noodles at all. Not to mention I missed a couple of zeros, 10% of light speed is 29 979 245.8 m / s. To put that into perspective, that's fourteen thousand times faster than some of the fastest projectile-firing small-arms in the modern world. Once the spaghetti is hardened to the density of diamond (and presumably bunched up as much as he wills) he's basically firing a projectile that will quite literally obliterate everything it touches. Allowing for the fact that he's basically an ordinary human controlling this god-like projectile so his reaction speed must be off the damn charts otherwise it would have travelled literally miles away and killed -everyone and everything in its path- before he can even tell it to change direction even at 10% of 10% of the speed of light, he could basically rip apart every atom of an enemy near instantaneously.

No man should have that power, especially with spaghetti.

I think the problem is that wherever ShinRa come from they don't really understand the implications of their powers. We ground abilities in actual physics a lot more here as a form of control. The alternative is that they just need to be super overpowered and know exactly what they're doing. If that's the case more power to them, though they'll only be fighting among themselves. None of our characters can hold a candle to that level of power, so we're not going to be engaging them and this RP isn't going to get anywhere.

Assuming you were in a world where you could be confronted by superhumans (unnatural durability, faster than any human, deadly at close range etc) what weapon would you consider the most versatile and therefore the most useful in a variety of situations? I know with all weapons it's rarely one size fits all so to speak, but as you rarely have the opportunity to know what you're up against is there one weapon that serves better than any other for facing superhumans?

I don't know all that much about guns, not that it matters that much as I figure the thing you really need an intrinsic knowledge of firearms for is

1. Hitting things/Marksmanship (and everyone cheats and fires accurately anyway)

2. Maintenance (which doesn't really matter in Arena, unless someone wanted to bring in an unreliable gun, which literally no one other than me ever does.)

Just to give my view on it, I would probably consider the assault rifle the most versatile anti-superhuman weapon, semi-auto and full-automatic fire modes (whatever the technical term for this is, I do not know) being preferable. With a pistol as a side-arm I suppose, as it's light and useful in a pinch.

Well, versatility with firearms is a bit of a subjective thing. An "assault rifle" would be an intermediate cartridge select fire weapon. You got it mostly right but with the idea of superhuman opponents there are a number of variables that may need to be addressed as for the effectiveness of any individual weapon you choose to employ. Say you have an individual that has some sort of "Rock-like" skin. A 5.56x45mm assault rifle would be of limited use seeing as it's a high velocity small caliber projectile. Unless you used a sort of specialized ammunition, say, the US M995 "Black Tip" tungsten core ammunition.

And before you get more in a tizzy, yes it was for the "lulz". You got trolled and typed up a bunch of counter crap for absolutely nothing.

It was a running gag for a day so I had the day off today finally and decided to run with it.

Although I was sad because I didn't have the time to add in that his favorite food is actually hamburgers!

Rock-skin is basically the bane of all firearms, depending on its thickness, so you're basically shit out of luck regardless. However, I do know that a lot of assault rifles incorporate under-barrel grenade launchers, that would be a must for one inclusive weapon.

Actually, I was countering your disgusting abuse of the noble skillset of spaghettimancy with your overpowered ShinRa nonsense. Shame upon you.

Don't worry Enki, if you and your pals stick around long enough you'll understand my mind-set eventually. Maybe. Actually probably not, it takes a while.

The hard as diamond part got you but not the black hole mention?

Yes it was stupid overpowered, but that was the point. The whole purpose was to throw something up so silly and overpowered but still within the rules to show the sillyness of it all.

I could have said up to sound barrier, and kept the diamond part, but that was waaaay to tame and not as funny.
