The issue is Crona's body structure. It's made with Silicon blood instead of Carbon-based, increasing the weight and strength. Its skin is also made of condensed Carbon. You could pierce the skin, but not the blood.

Couldn't we just fight him using chemical based weapons then? Perhaps I could use a silicon solvent based liquid and cover my sword with it, giving it the chemicals it needs to cut through the blood as well?
