On the topic of different characters, who is your favourite underrated Villain from Marvel or DC?

Mine is definitely Mysterio. I read that he gets done up a bit more recently in comics, and there is always that game where he actually gets powers, but other than that... I just think he's so cool in that he manages to take on a super-hero using special effects.

Also let none of us forget the old spider-man game.

@Sep I think I'm going to have to go with Joker and Hush. Both when written well provide an excellent foil and antithesis to Batman.

Other than that, I love a well done Zod as well. Especially when he's written as doing what's best for Krypton, he's not so much as a villain as a well intentioned extremist.

For Marvel, I'd probably go with the Shocker. The guy isn't really taking seriously by heroes nowadays, but despite that can really pack a punch if needed. I guess my love for him mostly stems from his time on the Thunderbolts and from Superior Foes of Spider-Man?

As for DC, I don't know really? Part of me wants to go with Catman?

From DC... Mad Hatter maybe? Except for...that moment in Secret Six.



Oh! Perhaps Doctor Sivana, the original DC Mad Scientist!

Until recently I'd have said the Reverse Flash but...

From Marvel, the Grey Gargoyle? Kang? I mean, it's harder because Marvel's a bit more self aware about it and have done stories to validate their underrated characters e.g. The Superior Foes of Spiderman.

I'd like to try playing Virgil Hawkins at some point down the road, but I'm always apprehensive about playing a character of colour especially one like Static where I feel like race does factor into part of who he is and in part due to his setting.

Does anyone else have this problem?


You won't improve at playing other races of characters if you don't try, right?

I personally enjoy playing characters who are nothing like me. Still can never get women right though..They always end up sounding like dudes with boobs.

As for my favorite underrated villain? For DC, that'd definitely be Mr. Freeze. I'm not too sure about Marvel. Maybe Electro?
