You can tell if you have any knowledge of video games at all.
Look at what's available, it's the same as with any new era, it's garbage that's just an updated version of the garbage that kicked off the last era. It'll be another two years at least before anything worthwhile comes out. You're wasting money and treating terrible content like good content because you're so in awe of the technology.

Most of the content I play wouldn't even work on a regular monitor, but if it would, I would enjoy it on there. You really have no place to argue this since you haven't ever tried it and know nothing about how fun or interesting the content is. I can enjoy slaying my dragons, but that kind of pessimism will only prevent VR from ever having substantial content that satisfies you. Still, consider that you can't judge it in 2D because it doesn't accurately reflect the fun.

stuff out there that is good.
And the same can be said of a lot of games we have today. You can't tell if a game is good by just looking at it, and i can say i enjoy older games more then the stuff that's coming out these days because it's not easy to play, and takes time to get good at.
