@The NarratorI think that it's quite a good idea, yeah. If something like that Black Beast was in existence and devouring all things around it Aylin would almost definitely notice it and want to do something about it. So yeah I like the idea - makes sense to me as something that could have happened

@MelonHead I think that Aylin would likely retrieve that arrow if possible (and probably did)

What could be really interesting is if the Black Beast was reincarnated like other Children, coming back in the Dusk age and finding the world rich with its preferred prey. Aylin could find the fragments of the original arrow or something and have Kozz reforge it.

Since the beast was a part of Tarthus that might be an interesting storyline, it slowly coming back...

Everything seems fine. My only question is why didn't the monks continue surviving on their mountain top? I mean they'd certainly prefer death over hiding. Maybe the lower order monks would.

It's a question of survival. When society collapses, where do you get your food? Or your firewood? I mean, they barely survived on the mountain before, and then the climate shifted. I'm not saying the monks fled; in fact they were probably the main group that stayed. But temples would have been sacked by starving tribes in the chaos, or if the monks survived they would starve to death, or just die out due to nobody wanting to stay there to breed. I picture a few crazy hermits still clinging to life in the ruins.

But then that's just my take on them.

Can the Children reproduce? Like, bear a child with a mortal that would also contain some of their powers?

@Cayce Like a demi-demi god? lol.

Thats a good thought, I mean kilgarrah technicly gave birth to dragons though it wasn't really reproduction in the same sense, just sort of, 'enchanting' some random reptile eggs he found.

Or split their consciousness among 3-5 mortals or something? Now that'd be interesting

Well, it varies from Child to Child, depending on how humanoid they are and what they've got under the hood. Males can impregnate mortal women, although the results are messy, the mother always dying in childbirth and the child not surviving its first week. Female Children can't at all. Transferring power is a complicated and unfortunately fatal process for mortals in most cases.

That's my thought right now, anyway. I'm conflicted on the issue, so I might be swayed otherwise.

That's never happened before given the antipathy most children have for each other. Theoretically, it would be possible to have a child, which would have power, drawn from both parents (making each a little weaker in the process). But of course that varies wildly, given that a lot of the Children aren't even anatomically compatible. Some matches would work, some wouldn't.

I'll probably write the city of I'Zhystana over the weekend.

Also, @Vahir we must clearly start a Kin breeding program. Like pokemons.

Oookay, I think I'm all caught up on Nod's opinions on others, though it's easy to do when your character's opinion of everyone else basically boils down to either 1) would make a good fight, or 2) too much talking, not enough fighting.

I've established a past history with both Wu-Dan and Kalikmalo. If you feel your demigod has crossed paths with Nod before, is likely to cross paths with him again in the IC, and would like to establish some sort of pre-existing relationship, let me know.

Almost forgot. Nefas and Kilgarrah seem like they would get along well. Perhaps there is some past history there we could flesh out?
