@Apollosarcher

Do you still want me? This is an extension of my previous post since I forgot to tag you.

I’ve got a lot RPing and Real Life stuff going on, so while I’m not rescinding my interest— it may take me some time. Presuming said person still wants a Padawan (and a slow poster like me) who has a lot of hatred that she’s yet to get passed due to the whole Mandalorian Wars thing.

@Burning Kitty I'm going to need you to alter your post a bit to either include more detail about the spaff with Gamorrean or change the way in which she is defeated. I have also never heard in any legends or canon material of a Jedi being able to perform such an action as making themselves immovable, especially when it's a Gamorrean that would weigh at least twice what you do bull-rushing you. Now, using the force to enhance your strength or slightly tip the Gamorrean off balance? Fair enough, easily done. But what you just wrote is very border god-mode and it seems that there isn't much actual point to the post itself. Please rectify these problems or I'm gonna have to give a first warning.

All our characters are super-hard, let's not call that into question, even the non-Jedi. However the scenario depicted just doesn't seem likely to me and it is incredibly vague. I wouldn't even have a problem if you did the same thing but just explained it more. Right now it very much reads as "I don't like Gamorreans, let's antagonise her." Fair enough. (But not really as she's been trained as a Jedi but let's not get into that.) Then you explain what she's doing with her powers, but then Harma just...wins? No-go I'm afraid chap. Especially when it seems the only points (that I can tell) of the post are to establish that she can handle herself and that she doesn't like Gamorreans.

Force Barrier article says:

The pirate Gudb described Thon's shield as being strong enough to halt the advance of a sandcrawler. Source.

Whether or not the sandcrawler caused Thon to be moved is not gone into detail.

A Gamorrean is nothing compared to a Sandcrawler.

I'll update it to include the specific mention of Force Barrier.

Especially when it seems the only points (that I can tell) of the post are to establish that she can handle herself and that she doesn't like Gamorreans.
Then you missed the point of the post. The Gamorrean was nothing more than a simpler and stupider version of Mandalorians who was using brute strength to subjugate others. It's called an analogy.

Then my point stands! I missed the point because it was not properly conveyed, nowhere within the post did her feelings feel analogous to those directed towards the Mandos; she is just coming across as racist. Furthermore the main problem (to which the god-mode comment was addressed) I had with the post was the final sentence. "Harma then sent the beast to the infirmary."

HOW? It's all well and dandy that you win, I'm not disputing that, I'm not disputing that she wouldn't beat the Gamorrean hands down. My problem is you essentially end the post with 'I win.' With that wording she could have done anything from punch her in the throat to simply saying "pip-pip, cheerio lad, off to the med-room you go. There's a good chap."

So your basically saying that every analogy must be spoon fed to the reader like they are a child who has no clue what an analogy is then. I can work with that. I will update the post to reflect that level of reading.

I'm not saying that at all but if you want to be a sarcastic arsehole over a little criticism you can just leave?

@Burning Kitty Why are you being so passive-aggressive? It was just some constructive criticism, we all make mistakes from time to time and it's good that they're pointed out so we can be better writers, nothing in the original post conveyed what you were trying to get across, your character seemed to dislike Gamorreans "just because" and they got into a fight and your character somehow beat it, plus the post doesn't really go anywhere, it honestly just seemed like fluff.

Anyway, when Apollosarcher gets back to me on the Padawan I’ll see about finishing her— elsewise the only other character concept I have is a Twi’lek who got raised Mandalorian. Now, you’re probably confused how that happened… trust me it makes sense in the framework of the character!

That's fair, I can always make Melanie Blackweller a Knight with a recently deceased Master all the same.

We have a couple other people joining, including @Chev's character. I will adjust for it as we go, though IC will continue as though the objective stands.

I must admit @Delta44

"Also, while I do believe that certain machines can display emotion-like responses, I do not believe this one to be such a machine. Therefore it's hard to imagine such a contraption could, in fact, display or sense emotion. Emotions have a deep connection with the Force; machines do not."
I laughed a lot more at this than I feel I should have. I'll get a post up sometime soonish.
