Ill catch myself up during the push

We are going to drop back to the last rally point. The Target Acquisition Specialist, also known as Forward observer (FO) will be dropping 130mm mortar fire on the ambush site. The expectation is that the platoon will be off the ambush site and in the last known rally point before the rounds impact and that the incoming Salvesh will arrive at the location about the same time as the incoming mortar rounds. Collins is also expecting a UCAV to come in for additional support, but it has not arrived.

Our UCAV support will arrive as one of hte following:

Raytheon and Aurora Flight dropped this idea, but I am speculating here that the Grathik has approved the idea and are using the A-10 Warthog Attack Platform as an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) for their operations on Saina. Why? Because the A-10 is bad ass with or without a pilot.

So there is no confusion, this is what just happened. The only people killing the Salvesh up close were the third squad members.

Trivval has not been on the site in 10 days. I wanted to see his call for fire.

I had an insane week at work, but I am here this weekend, mostly just cooking and bumming around and making a few work calls (that busy) to tie things up. I'll be present on Discord and here, and would like to get posts moving if possible.

Remember, we only need three paragraphs to keep it moving and our rule is to keep it moving. You don't need to write to some lofty standard -- the post that never comes is the disappointing one.

@Gunther I am thinking in the next few days of shifting over to the actual Salvesh push on the rallypoint.

Also a good time to bring in the galaxy's most annoying news organization, staffed by highly amused ex-killbots.

The Salvesh called them for good publicity.

I doubt Trivval will show up. He hasn't been on the site in weeks.

My thoughts were this...
1. The mortar barrage is either late or only picks up the trail of the Salvesh counter attack. Maybe a few to a small squad of casualties.
2. The UCAV A10 would have attritted their numbers down some, maybe 10%.
3. The survivors of the mortar fire and UCAV attack would then rush into the 1st and 3rd squads on line in their positions, higher elevation than the attacking Salvesh.
4. Eventually, the forward two squads plus the MG teams pull back beyond the 2nd squad. They would bound past the 2nd squad and set up in a new location about a hundred meters beyond the 2nd squad. Maybe the 2 MG teams and one of the rifle squads could reinforce 2nd squad?
5. THis second line, focused on Hellis' squad and then we make this series of retrograde leaps and bounds, 50 - 100 meters at a time, drawing the Salvesh into us, sacrificing space for time knowing that they outnumber us.

Yes, we should take casualties with all this movement going on.

Feeling better, had a weekend flu. Still have it, but potentially will be writing tomorrow.

So, needless to say, we're having casualties in the upcoming fight, since this is going to be potentially a company-sized formation of packs going after a single platoon. That will thin out the character pool. Those that have already indicated they are still in this RP are fine, having said something over in Discord or on here.

There's nothing wrong with bowing out here, we're basically looking to keep this going with the people that are still feeling engaged and this was essentially planned for with a large player base that I didn't think would maintain. No worries about reputation and standing or us going, "arr, people" so much as we're going to have casualties anyway, and if anyone wants to reactivate themselves, we'll figure out a way to do it. After all, this is sci-fi.

Ah, sorry to hear that.

So as some of you are aware, I just got over the flu and am back on track. If anyone intends to post up next, let me know, otherwise I want to push forward.
