@Hammerman I really liked the coin system( even though some ways of spending gold coins seemed a bit stronger than others). I kinda just chose things that went with what I envisioned my character doing.

So... I was wondering something.

I rolled a 6 for my Power Roll, which would net me Twinned Souls. This was all well and good, but one of the three rolls that would apply to that Twinned Soul was bad. Could I expend a Silver Coin to change anything on the Twinned Soul, or am I stuck with what I ultimately rolled for it?

Which roll was it? The twin should be similar to your character in terms of stats. You can use coins on the twin the exact same way they can be used for your original character, just note that they share the coin pool unless otherwise specified.

People be min/maxing like it's going out of style.

Speaking of min/maxing, I decided to see what Veronica would look like if she was created on the magical girl character sheet, and she has over 30 vitality. If 10 lets you shrug off swords, and twenty lets you shrug off an auto cannon, I'm pretty sure 30 lets you shrug off a black hole, right?

Regardless, I don't think having a stat pumped to twenty is a huge advantage, anymore than taking a ship cannon into combat is. Make your characters however you damn please. I'm just here to write cool stories.

Heh. At the time I created Mariette in the earlier game, most people were balanced, with perhaps the exception of Penny. Sure, they had invested differently, but they all could handle themselves. That, plus my rolls, inspired me to make Mariette as she is. Besides, she has two liquid harpy bodyguards that make up for that, slightly. I like her like that, I can tell stories using her. Haha.

I used the system and then made my characters around it. I quite like the results. It's not about min/maxing at all, considering stats are arbitrary and this isn't the arena.

EDIT: Or rather, I used the system to make the characters I wanted. I'm quite proud of managing to make the archetypes of 'frail but powerful girl' and 'creepy twins' mesh.

I thought about rolling a new character but decided to see what the player turnout was like first. I have some investment in Alicia now so I didn't want to give her up that easily.

Power of Friendship is a good power, and I'm intending for it to be viable whenever it is invoked, but you can swap it to another with a silver or shift the roll result to an adjacent power with a bronze, of course.

I think the MG character sheet had a different scale for how Vit works, but 30 would be recognized as durable in story.
Also, your character reminds me of another pirate-themed magical girl.

Players may make 2 active characters from scratch, so you can make a new character and still keep your old one.

Yep, this is not tabletop, so stats can be thought of as guidelines that help define how characters approach a conflict rather than determine who gets to win one.

Tone is extremely hard to interpret through text, especially with strangers. I usually just settle for face value. Sorry if that's the case. I didn't like the remarks from multiple people and felt the need to speak bluntly.

I got my characters already. But it would be interesting to do a Twin Soul or Ally set of characters with someone else, so it isn't the same person playing both. I would really like to do that.
