Same here, though it's a bit harder if they've tried to eat or maul you in the past.
Hopefully they either die out so they'll stop suffering, or a few will be born without suffering, though the second one is a bit more dangerous.

From what I've seen, it's unlikely since what ever mutated them is likely the same thing that destroyed the previous civilization. Heck, the fact that some of these poor things lived long enough to try reproducing and that some of them were successful is both incredible and horrible.
