Konpaku Youmu

"Ah..."

That explanation... yes, it sounded just about exactly like the kind of thing that the small swordswoman expected from Yuyuko-sama. It didn't take a lot of food to get her Mistress's attention... in fact, all it took was food in general. That was it. It was relieving to know the circumstances of the ghost's situation were, well, relatively mundane and nothing particularly explosive. But why had Yakumo-sama brought Yuyuko-sama here? Why was Yakumo-sama here in the first place? What exactly were they planning, and who was that strange girl in the military uniform? There were a lot of questions that the silver-haired girl had, but for the moment she was simply relieved to be reunited with her Mistress. Even if her Mistress's behavior was, well... sometimes rather silly, to say the least.

"Oh, I... I don't really know how I got here," replied Youmu, scratching the back of her head, "One moment, I was training as usual, and the next I was here. Then I met Watch-san-"

She gestured to the redheaded boy.

"-And everyone else here. There was a pair of dragons attacking the city, so we worked together to slay them. It was... strange, this place is like the outside world, but it's a different world entirely... We also met Yakumo-san, but something was... strange..."

Mordred

"Eh?!"

Mordred raised her hand, shielding her face from the blast of sludge and crystals. When it had faded, what was left behind was... certainly nothing like what they'd first come across. A high-pressure ball of water, with eyes? What was this thing, anyway?! In an instant it had torn its way through the ceiling and out into the open air, a fact that Mordred was... almost thankful for after being trapped down here in the stench for so long. But on the other hand, that meant it was trying to escape...

"Grr..."

Mordred sprang into the air, one of her feet catching the wall and pushing off to propel herself out of the sewers entirely, onto the street.

It was shedding the crystal shards that had attached to it, which was at least something that jackass had done that was useful. Now they could follow it.

With that, the blonde-haired knight sprinted after the trail, needing to catch up as quickly as possible.

NANOHA TAKAMACHI

"Alright, we did it, Raising Heart! We got a clean hit!" Nanoha said excitedly when she hit Yukari with her planned Excellion Buster. Judging by the outcome of the blast, it didn't seem that their foe was as impervious to damage as some of those Nanoha faced in the past either so that was a plus in her book. Maybe, if they pushed it just a bit more, they could win?

Of course, the time for exhilaration was short-lived as soon enough, Yukari pulled another card from her sleeve, literally, and hit them with an even harsher sensory jamming spell. Without a way of fighting while effectively blind and deaf, this would be hard. Thankfully, Nanoha had a plan for that either.

"Protection!" Nanoha said. She let go of Raising Heart, returning it back to its Stand-By form, as she used both hands to cast two of the hemispherical barriers at once, one to each of her side. Not only she planned to get cover from any stray shots but, if Yukari came within an arm's reach of Nanoha, there was no way the young mage would miss her going through the barrier that had just about as much volume as it was enough to house Nanoha herself. If they were attacked in close range, Nanoha's plan was to drop the barriers and counter with a Cross Smasher or, failing that, at least grab her opponent and use Plan B: a mana-powered punch to the face with all Nanoha had to give.

METEORA ÖSTERREICH

"Of course, I understand your point. I should only have expected that it was normal for you to act on your character description", Meteora replied to Yuyuko while taking a seat at the table. "What your... handmaiden", Meteora defaulted to politeness since she was unsure of how to classify Yuyuko and Yomu's relationship, "said is true for the rest of us as well. We all got transported from our worlds to this one without rhyme or reason and are in search of the cause as well as a way to go back. I have reasons to believe that your friend, Miss Yukari, is a key player in this incident."

It was really worrying for Meteora that this was shaping to be nothing like the incident she knew about. The rules were far too different and, probably the only one that could elucidate Meteora's doubts in her fullest was Altair. The Mop-Heap Princess was sure to know what was happening in the backstage since she got herself allied with another dimension traveler.

The time for conjectures could wait a bit more, now Meteora was more focused on dealing with her complaining stomach.

"I have enough money on me to cover a part of what Miss Yuyuko must owe this place, as well as my own lunch and Sanaki's. This is the least I could do after barely being able to help during the fight with the wyverns", Meteora said when she noticed Leonardo counting his money with apprehension. It was not like a single lunch was going to blow away a few days worth of travel savings, plus she was saying the truth about apologizing for being kind of a deadweight when it came to combat.

"Our bigger problem will be how to deal with that crowd eying us after we made it to the top of the social networks' in a matter of hours", Meteora remarked, noticing the change in the behavior of the buffet patrons.

He raised Thyr to ward himself against this seemingly mental attack. It didn't seem to be of a warren and was well outside of anything he had dealt with. This wasn't at all Ben's kind of fight, trading spell and counterspell. He specialized in subterfuge and finishing things with the first decisive strike. Things were getting out of hand though. It would be hard to do much without a will ally, however something the single woman had said gave him an idea.

Haven't you figured out that your eyes will betray you?

The mage dropped the illusory copy of himself that was back in the shelter, freeing up some concentration for something bigger. Confrontation was not his forte but he certainly knew all about deception and illusion. Still hiding himself of the shadows of Meanas, he used Rashan to split the hammer wielding girl into a handful of copies moving in different directions. The original, Nanoha herself, became invisible.

— Container Yard —

Ennis tumbled from the forklift on the far side from the thugs, bleeding for just a few seconds from a head wound before it closed up, the blood flowing back into the open gash before it closed. The homunculus paused, waiting for just a moment before dashing out of cover, tossing the hardhat and vest away to draw their attention.

The nearest of them received a haymaker punch to the side of the head. She carried the momentum through into a spinning kick, dropping the trigger happy thug and then ducking back behind the cover of the truck.

— London —

She rolled the shoulders and hefted the sword, staring down the first of the large, scaly things to catch her eye. With a handful of steps to wind up she threw the sword at it with enough force to put it through a spaceship hull. The blade hit the monsters though head and glanced off, shattering in the process.

Her face fell for a second and then her expression brightened and she cracked her knuckles. Birdy stomped on one corner of the shield and caught it in the air. After another Moment of though, she grimaced. She doubted that her fists would make it through that hide and the best way to defeat armour was to go around it. Go... inside of it.

It shouldn't be so bad, especially if this one disappeared like the others. Birdy ran up with the shield as cover, smashing the dragon looking thing across the jaw in an attempt to anger it and make it roar.

"If the buildings are damaged, maybe I should be the only one to go there... if they start collapsing, I won't be hurt," Hibiki answered, not liking the idea of Miku being in a collapsing building for... she had actually lost count of how many times something like that had happened now.1 Whilst if something collapsed on her, then she could just punch her way out, and if other people were trapped then it would be easier to rescue them if there was nothing else to worry about. If they all went, she would have to worry about Miku, and Misaki, and at the end of the day, they'd all have nowhere to spend the night again.

Shopping had proved relatively fruitful. If there was one positive to being trapped here, unable to sustain a more appropriate appearance for her age, it was that Tokyo had lots of clothing that Evangeline liked. There was only so much that could be bought with limited funds but it was enough. And she still had some left over for dressing up that knight if things got too boring. Though with nothing left to buy, window shopping held little appeal and the blonde vampire had started to make her way back to the dropoff point.

Whatever the others had been doing had definitely not gone to plan. As she drew closer, there was the sound of something breaking through the ground... and soon an elemental ball of some sort came into view, heading towards where she had just come from--the city centre. It wasn't moving quickly, so it wasn't like her allies would lose it... but everyone had been a physical fighter, and this wasn't exactly a physical challenge.

Internally grousing about how, at this rate, she was definitely not going to be restoring her illusion any time soon--or at least not holding it--Evangeline placed one of her bags on the ground--

--and raised her hand along with the swelling icicle beneath the ball. Gelidus Capulus: a freezing confine to completely encase it. And permit its shattering.

The Yuyuko Devastation Zone: aka "A Ransacked Brunch Buffet"

"Pardon my interruption. Getting back to the topic your brave vassal and Ms. Meteora here have started into, none of us come from here, arriving here rather suddenly without any idea of how or why. But if this 'Yukari' is involved in what is going on potentially," Sanaki said, keeping her voice down enough for just the group at their table alone to hear, including this Yuyuko whom the brave swordswoman had seen fit to attend to, "If she is involved, it seems it could be with more than dangerous individuals, one of which has not idly handed out serious threats to this entire world and any of us here who would defy their will in some manner. This is why we seek if you know anything about this Yukari's involvemnet in current affairs."

As much as she wanted to unwind a bit, and indeed they were all waiting on food to arrive now it seemed at some establishment that reminded her of a busy bustling inn. It was not a sort of place she was used to, frankly, and keeping focus on the tasks and matters at hand was for her a driving force in keeping a level head right now. She did not want to make the others uncomfortable, for they might be the only allies she'd get here if fate had any hand in this, but at the same time the looming worry of how to handle all of this sudden change and situation in the long term (if it came to that) lingered in the very back of Sanaki's mind. Though from what she understood of Ms. Meteora's words, word of them and their acts and presence had spread like wildfire. The piercing, drill-like looks they gave and flashes coming from the small devices in the hands of those eating here was a sure sign of that.

Then again, she at least was used to such looks completely from her time in front of crowds, though this odd situation did make it a little more uneasy then she might've liked to feel. What's next, this world has a 'game' of some sort that features her? She heard the mention of such things on the way the UN.

Aile

Giant Lizard Whacka-Intenstines Begins...Maybe

As the scene continued, an odd trend was becoming apparent. The bodies were not disappearing anymore after a time had already passed into this "odd" invasion. Some sort of odd acclimation to a new world? The magic was running low? The true reasons could not be ascertained, but what could be was that between the new monsters bodies, the rubble, the dead people, and all of this mess was that it had to be stopped. Stopped as soon as possible. The whizz of helicopters and sound of bullet patter rang out as the UK military made their way increasing in towards the center as they began to gain some ground as the monster numbers began to thin a little bit. A tank or few could be heard rolling in from the edge as well, providing enough firepower to start to cut down the monster numbers more dramatically. Though it would still be a hard struggle to the end, even as one explosion could be heard as electrified arrows from some of the lizards managed to fry one tank as it had just begun to move into the area.

By now smoke in pillars was rising from the destroyed areas, some monsters still spreading damage as the army sought to contain it. And contain it they were doing at the very least. However, by now news helicopters were flying about, sometimes getting a bit close and being shot at, some hanging back a distance, others on the ground near the action as close as they could get. The news media was hounding the scene like starving dogs to a hunk of meat, and around the world images from new channels and international broadcasts of this live battle were tacked onto countless TV screens just like other incident likely would be as the world became aware of an all-too-odd situation.

Meanwhile, as Birdy smashed the shield over the creature's head, even the oddly-shaped metal shield bent from the strength of the blow and force of the impact. However, it was enough of a blow to get the creature to feel it and get her the attention she'd wanted, it seemed. The King Dodongo she had hit looked over to her, swiping out with its paw at her body as it gave a terrifying roar of attempted intimidation in her direction. Its mouth was filled with sharp teeth and a pair of fangs on the bottom, not something to be taken lightly....especially for a creature that constantly ate metal underground and incorporated this into its absurdly tough hide.

---

At the same time, Aile circled around as she finally reached the center as well, mopping up a few of the lizards charging at a group of four soldiers. The men seemed huddled behind cover smartly, some of them bloody from injuries, behind their few small piles of concrete rubble as they seemed to try to stand up to the smaller monsters and larger beasts....albeit somewhat futilely for the latter. As she then landed, one of the soldiers moved out, somewhat warily, gun held forward as he looked at Aile over a few times. It felt odd to her, but....perhaps these people hadn't seen armor like this before? Not that the people in her world were any different on seeing her, though not being shot at first was a potentially good sign.

"...Eh lads, stand down for a moment, she doesn't seem like one of them, or with em' for that matter," the soldier approaching Aile said as he lowered his weapon after a moment and turned to the other guys who carefully began to poke out of cover since they were safe for the moment, though he held himself upright and kept a composed and professional tone, "Who are you, or maybe what are you, and what are you doing here of all places? Are you from the same place as those thing?"

"I am not with those things....actually, i don't know where i am of all places. One moment i was home, and the next i am in this place falling from the sky, unfamiliar, strange, but i couldn't sit by and watch people get hurt when i saw these things start storming the streets," Aile said, trying to explain as best as she could, glancing over her shoulder at the larger enemies for a moment before looking back to the man, "Did you see anything that might be a weak point on those big ones?"

The soldier thought for a second, and then quickly nodded.

"Their hide takes grenades and bullets and everything we've thrown at them yet," the man said, before gesturing to one of the men near him who was trying to patch some arrow wounds up with one of his other two comrades, "But James over here hit one in the mouth and that seemed to get its attention for a moment. Then the little ones attacked us. Since then we haven't gotten a chance yet to repel the damn things, lost most my men but the few of us here to get to this point at all. Just got word the tanks are rolling in, but the resistance means they'll be a while longer before we get the firepower we need."

"Mmm....I know there's been someone else cutting through the smaller ones like i have, from what i've seen on the way here. I don't know about her, but if i or her could maybe get inside we could probably kill them too," Aile said, trying to make some sort of sense of the situation and what she'd seen so far.

That other woman seemed something else. Aile'd seem mechanoloids and such do a lot of damage, but this woman seemed to just rip through them with her bare hands. It was like a storybook she'd heard about in stores once back home, about a hero who fought off enemies with their fists. But with that in mind, if she herself and/or that woman could hit the vulnerable points of these things, not risking trying to cut through the outside in case it didn't work, then it at least was a chance they could try to end this fast. It was worth a shot, at least, before these things might spread farther since nothing had been able to stop them from leveling quite a nice sized area already to the ground.

The soldier looked at her for a moment, though after taking in her beam sabers once more and how easily they'd dispatched the smaller things in one go....he let a grin come onto his face. Motivation was motivation, and to the man this seemed to be an chance he and his men hadn't had so far in the battle for saving London here from the monstrosities. The headless corpses of four lizard-things sat on the ground around the young woman even.

[color=aquamarine]"I think we can arrange that, miss. It's hard to think someone so young can do what you have in front of our eyes, but if it stops these things before it gets worse then i believe we have a shot. A hell of a shot, but a shot,"[/aquamarine] the soldier said, before looking back to his last three men once more, the one having been patched up finally by now to some extent, "Men, we might have a chance to stop these things before the losses stack up. Get on the radio, James, and tell the others to look out for this young lady and another one out there trying to kill these things. Tell the others to get the big bastards to open up wide for those two. It's a damn gamble, but one potential hell of a result if this pays off."

The wounded and now patched-up man, James, nodded before going onto his radio and beginning to call out to the others. Aile couldn't hear what was being said, but at least it was an idea. Some hope for the situation at large if nothing else.

"We'll give you cover fire on the closest one, as least as much as he can till those little one try at us again," the man said, his grin brimming with confidence to try to boost his men's morale in this instance, "If anyone if the other guys out there give you hell about this, tell em' Captain Jonathan Woods sent you."

Aile smiled and gave a nod in return, unable to hold back at the man's attempt to inspire those around him and her to do their best in this. It wasn't a cartoon or fictional work in this, this was real, but anything to turn the tide could be a good thing she supposed. She...just didn't want any more people to die right now, really. Even as the seeming commander here piped up to her, though, his other two men were leveling their guns over the top of the rubble they had been behind, taking aim at the nearest giant lizard-sorta-thing without another word.

She was almost surprised the Biometals hadn't spoken up, but perhaps even they could read the situation if they startled what looked like trained soldiers. Trained human soldiers of all things, not robots protecting them. And in hindsight, she felt this was perhaps a good idea....maybe? She had no idea for sure, actually. But she wasn't going to waste her time.

As Aile then sped off from her location towards the nearest scaly beast, the sound of "pop pop pop" could be heard behind her, the two men taking fire at the eyes of the nearest large target. And sure enough, a few well placed shots and proper timing managed to make it look around, giving out a great roar at the before just annoying soldiers. Time to see if she could do this.

"Boosters are at full, and sabers ready....good luck, Aile," Model H said to her, a seemingly genuine hopefulness in its tone tinted into the usual calm and almost stoic composed tone it normally had.

She felt like she needed luck, even as she shot straight into the mouth of the beast just as it began to close. Her beam sabers were pointed forwards as well, as if to pierce into whatever came next....just as the beast's mouth finally closed behind her once it noticed something amiss beyond just the painful flies stinging its eyes from afar.

....

....

....

....

....

After a few seconds of closing its mouth, the King Dodongo seemed to stop moving. Then a lurch after another minute. Then another lurch as its body as a whole shuddered before the eyes of those nearby after another minute that felt longer than the first. It tried to take a step or two forwards towards the soldiers, but then all of a sudden collapsed onto the ground...limp. After a moment the mouth of the beast seemed to start to move, just a bit, as if...being move from inside? Eventually the mouth was pried open, a wash of beast blood and severed innards leaking out around Aile's feet as she held the dead King Dodongo's mouth open with her two hands, beam sabers put to the side. She too was covered in the nasty, smelly, purple monster blood, and the smell of digestive fluids was all over here. But as she stepped out of its mouth and took a breath of fresh air, she felt a wave of joy come over her that she managed to kill one of these things.

In there Mode H had notified her that the acids of the thing's stomach, after they were in them, were for digesting...metal it seemed? Though luckily the biometals were not normal metals, or at least were something that wasn't going to be broken down by this thing's stomach if naught else. It'd have been a nightmare otherwise....though the inside of that beast had been an "interesting" experience to say the least. She had almost switched to Model L's form if she could, just due to the dark and air-lacking innards of this thing. Though she'd quickly been pushed to remember that the biometals did help her breathe anywhere like water in general. Heh.

---

Meanwhile, whomever could among the other soldiers began to take aim at the eyes of the beasts closest to the two females. Others, however, were laden down with smaller enemies to be able to help. There was at least some support for them, perhaps? Had the captain's message worked? Considering the focus on the beasts nearest the two fighting females, it seemed the most likely idea that whoever could was trying at least. It wasn't much help, but the chance to take down these things before they killed more was perhaps a more desirable idea than shoving off help from seemingly out of the comic books.

Even as the fight continued, even as Vita attempted to get her bearings...

Someone else had joined the fray. Though not to join the fight itself. Rather, her target was different, and her goals far less combative.

Beside Priscilla was a strange sound, the scattered appearance of what almost appeared to be blue cubes, as a figure emerged from absolutely nothing...

There was a tall hat on her head, her outfit a stylized military uniform as she straightened, a curtain of silvery-white hair behind her. On her face was a small smile.

"Hello, Priscilla-dono," Altair began, bowing her head slightly, "Allow me to invite you to learn the truth of your situation."

Without waiting for the half-dragon's response, she drifted into the air and took a hold of the giant girl's hand, preparing to spirit her away as swiftly as she had first appeared.

Shokuhou Misaki

"You two do realize that I am still awake, correct?" Misaki asked, shifting her body in an attempt to get the slightest bit more comfortable. "I wish I could simply stand by and let others do this sort of job for me, but normal people can only get so far. Besides, I don't feel safe in this area, and as much as I would prefer to say otherwise, I have to admit that Tachibana here is probably safer to be around than the shelter."

"That's a little... Rude. But I think I kind of understand what you're saying," Miku sighed before lying down on the ground. "If we were with Genjuro or the others, I would be fine waiting, but... If this is really another world, then I agree with Shokuhou-san."

With that, though, the black-haired girl pulled Hibiki to her side and giggled.

"All we have to do is be close enough for you to reach us, right? Then I'm confident that you'll be right there if we need you, no matter what happens."

Hinanawi Tenshi

The next half a minute or so was spent with Tenshi focusing wholly on evasion by instinct. Ordinarily, she would have simply attempted to shoot Yukari out of the sky, but for some reason the youkai had turned this into a survival card instead of leaving it as it was. In that case, though, then all she had to do was time it out...

"Hm? Oh, someone's attempting to interfere? Well, I would prefer that a match like this stay with the participants, so our deal here is broken."

With a snap, Yukari removed the suppression on everyone's senses, letting everyone see (and hear) clearly once more. The illusions, too, were immediately dispelled, leaving a lone Yukari quietly drifting over to Altair's side.

"Since your side was the one to break the deal, then we shall be taking our leave here. I hope that next time you will be more respectful of a duel's rules. You know who you are," she stated calmly before opening a gap in front of herself. "We're leaving, Altair. Ms. Priscilla, all shall be explained in short order."

And with that, they were gone.

Tenshi blinked for a few moments before gritting her teeth in irritation and chucking her sword at the ground, causing a massive earthquake to erupt from where it landed.

"You're joking, right?! All that work, and we STILL lost her!" she shouted, forming a keystone in her hands before lobbing it at a high speed at the ground. Said keystone caused a second earthquake, though this one was more to dampen the impact of the first one. "I'm going to get that old lady back late—Ow!"

Just as she was complaining, a small gap popped out of the air behind her and threw a bullet into Tenshi's head before disappearing again, which only served to further her exasperation.

"I still hate her. Whatever. I'm heading back; do as you please."

Still grumbling to herself, the Celestial slowly began to fly back towards their residence, irritated that only half of their goals had been fulfilled.

The icy prison beneath the elemental did not initially deter its movement, but after a few moments of attempting to drill through the ice, its movements began to slowly grind to a halt before it stopped moving altogether.

Private Minami, at this point, had already moved their transport over to pick up Eva from her recent shopping trip, a smile on her face as she exited the vehicle.

"You did it! I got a bit worried when that thing started coming out of the ground, but I think we're done here. Let's head back; I'll call the base to get someone to pick this up... Whatever it is."

Leonardo Watch

"Hmmm? Oh, so you didn't go out to buy groceries? I was wondering where you had disappeared off to..." Yuyuko mused to herself before the next dish she had ordered came out in front of her. "But... Wyverns? Strange? Yukari was acting as usual when I last met her, so... Did something happen while we were separated?"

Meteora's comment on paying, though, let Leo breathe a little bit easier.

"Really? That's good; I think I can barely cover the rest of the cost, then," he said, patting his chest as if a giant load had been lifted off his shoulders. "I thought I might have had to borrow money or something from somewhere else—thank god for all-you-can-eat buffets. Excuse me, but could we get a menu, please?"

Of course, Leo was just as aware of the attention that they were currently garnering just by being there. Their faces had just been all over TV and all, despite what he (and Klaus) might have liked, but in a situation like that it probably couldn't have been helped.

"But, erm... To add onto the conversation, it does seem like this Yukari person isn't usually like this, then? She kind of—ah, thank you," Leo began before a waiter handed him a stack of menus, which he promptly handed out to the rest of the group. "As I was saying, though, she dropped someone into the room we were all in, let her make a speech against someone else who kind of... Teleported in... And then... Brought her out."

"Hmmm? Well, Yukari's been a long-time friend of mine, and I can tell you for a fact that while she likes scheming, what she does is often what she thinks is best for Gensokyo. I'm not sure who this 'person' you're referring to is, though, but I don't think Yukari would normally ally with someone planning to end a world or anything..." Yuyuko finally said before beginning to dig into her meal. "Mmm, this is quite good. Youmu, you should try some of this—maybe it'll give you some ideas for the future~!"

"What the hell?! That bitch is alive?" one of the thugs shouted as they turned to fire on Ennis, only to be promptly thrown to the ground and knocked out. The one who had shot her was soon to follow, and it wasn't long before she was out of their sight.

"Shit... Get those two out of here! We can't salvage this shipment, so we're just going to have to suck it up and tell the boss!" one of the older men said, directing whoever was left up to pepper the area with the occasional shot as they attempted to drag the unconscious members of their group out of the way. "Move, damn you!"

Konpaku Youmu

"I agree, I don't think Yakumo-sama would consider allying with anyone intending to do something like that," Youmu added. Yuyuko-sama had the right idea about that, for certain. That did leave the question of what exactly it was that Yakumo-sama and the military uniform girl intended, however. The truth was that it still made Youmu rather concerned. Simply knowing that Yakumo-sama didn't intend anything so dire still didn't mean that she wasn't planning... something, especially when the situation was so unusual.

"Ah, thank you, Yuyuko-sama..."

Taking a seat beside her Mistress, Youmu transitioned to looking over the menu, for now...

Mordred

"All that time I spent chasing that thing, and you finally decide to show up and stop it just like that?" Mordred commented, eyeing her temporary Master as she did. She was a bit grumpy, mostly due to having to deal with that idiot, but this likely would have been a much faster mission if Evangeline had participated from the start. Her icy prison ability seemed to be tailor made to dealing with something like this. Not that Mordred doubted she could have handled it herself, however.

Of course she could

Resting Clarent on her shoulder, the red knight approached the transport nevertheless.

Whatever he had expected to happen with the fight, it wasn't that one of the parties would just simply leave. It also wasn't expected that one of them would do something to cause an earthquake. When his grasp on the illusions failed, he reflexively grabbed hold of that warren and hid himself once more. With another train of thought he harnessed D'riss, the earth warren to stabilize the ground beneath himself.

Someone was bound to notice that a portion of the ground wasn't moving as it should. Ben created a copy of himself a few steps away, this one looking older and clutching at a walking stick with both hands. The copy took a couple of paces forward and bowed.

"What a fantastic display, you have piqued my interest. My name is Kribalah Rule."

not the truth, but true enough. He had used the name once before perishing under suspicious circumstances. It might be fitting to use it where such a thing might be required again

— Container Yard —

No matter how quiet things might be in the middle of the day after that much gunfire the police were bound to show up. After the gunfire covering the retreat stopped, Ennis strode out of cover, running a hand over the couple of bullet holes in her suit. The authorities should arrive soon. She should take a look inside and plan from there.

Jackpot. Behind boxes of budget branded electronics and knockoff clothing brands she found some small crates of weapons and ammunition. If it had been any other kind of contraband Ennis would have had to track the men from here to wherever they were hiding out and make even more noise to get what she wanted.

She grabbed a pistol small enough to be unnoticeable under her jacket along with some spare magazines and a couple of boxes of loose bullets. Once things got sorted with the UN she would work on more legitimate ways of getting things but this would do for now. Before leaving, she wiped down anything she had touched including the wheel of the destroyed forklift.

Ennis ran to the fence surrounding the yard and climbed over, ignoring the cuts caused by the barbed wire. The nature of her immortality meant that there was no chance of leaving any blood behind as evidence. She stuck her hands in her pockets and calmly walked away.

With the beast recoiling, Birdy gave only a cursory consideration for the razor sharp teeth before leaping past them and down it's throat. A bubble shaped dome appeared over her head mid leap, designed for use in space but more than suitable for what lay ahead. Her own body would fare just as well, able to withstand the hazards of space and deflect bullets.

Inside of the monster she began to lash out with fists and feet, tearing through flesh that was softer on the inside than the outside. At a certain point her berserk rampage faded and an unease set in. this plan of attack and hinged on the fact that the monsters had been thus far disappearing upon their death. This one wasn't. It's throes of death had stopped but it's body was still there.

"Ugh, disgusting."

Birdy took a moment to orient herself back towards where she had come from and worked her way towards the mouth. It was shut, so she grabbed the upper row of teeth with both hands and heaved the massive mouth open, stepping through and letting it drop behind her, dripping gore and viscera with every step.

NANOHA TAKAMACHI

"Wait, no!" Nanoha shouted as their battle came to an abrupt halt, with both Yukari and a girl wearing a military-style uniform taking Priscilla with them to God-knows-where. The culprit for this seemed to be the man standing before them right now, apparently interfering with whatever was it that Yukari had in mind, but it still didn't make Nanoha feel any better to know that she failed to protect someone again.

"All because I dropped my guard, thinking that we had only one powerful opponent to face", the auburn-haired mage said to herself while balling her left hand with enough force to hurt herself if she were not wearing her Barrier Jacket. "How could I fail to protect someone again after all that happened?"

The bitter experiences of her past welled up in Nanoha for a moment, making her forget everyone else until Raising Heart snapped her attention back to the real world. "It's alright, Master, I believe Miss Yukari has a reason behind her actions that do not involve hurting any innocents. We will probably see her again soon enough. For now, we should focus on the matters at hand", the Intelligent Device said before bringing Nanoha's attention to her surroundings.

Nanoha took a long breath and looked around the half-ruined city block before turning around and addressing Rule. The Area Search didn't show signs of anyone else nearby; instead, picking up a dimensional manipulation signature. There was no doubt that this person was using projection magic to talk to them while remaining safe somewhere else. Nanoha just couldn't pinpoint it, yet. This, together with the fact that Yukari had similar powers of illusion and dimensional manipulation, made Nanoha steel herself for the possibility of a second battle. In fact, it was entirely plausible that this person was one of Yukari's allies and came here to provide a distraction after their objective of kidnapping Priscilla had been achieved.

"If you want to talk with us, why don't you reveal yourself first? I may not be able to pick up what magic you are using to conceal yourself, yet, but I can tell that it's not you that I'm talking to. Why should we trust your word at all?" Nanoha said before swapping Raising Heart's Cartridge Magazine, just in case she needed the extra firepower.

The figure shrugged at Nanoha. He was mildly impressed with her detecting his magic but pleased with himself for her not being able to locate him.

"I don't know you enough to trust you either, not that I trust anyone anyway. But maybe I can help you and we could share some information. You lost someone? Let me offer my assistance."

He disappeared in a swirl of blackness, intertwined like a cats cradle of thread. In the middle was a small shell that hung in the air for a second before falling.

"Break this if you take me up on my offer."

Hinanawi Tenshi

Tenshi's eye twitched as she saw a strange old man come out of the ruins, offering some words of "praise" with what she saw as nothing but an air of arrogance. To call the way that fight ended a "fantastic display" was akin to spitting on her face, if anything—Yukari had left with their escort and it was clear that she had been simply toying with them to buy time. The youkai's words weren't lost on Tenshi, though; the fact that someone had attempted to 'interfere' with the duel was likely an excuse, but in some ways the Celestial felt as if Yukari was actually somewhat displeased at this turn of events.

For whatever reason, though, she didn't quite know.

The Celestial girl quietly listened to Nanoha as she interrogated the old man, though in noting that the one in front of them was not the real one Tenshi slowly pieced the few parts of the puzzle together.

"...You were the one who started messing with Yukari, then?" Tenshi growled, readying her sword as she stared at the man at their feet. "Forget it. We're not going to do anything that'd let you keep tabs on us. I'm with Nanoha; why would we trust you if you're not—"

The sudden sound of her phone ringing cut Tenshi off, and with a huff Tenshi let her sword disappear before picking up.

"Hinanawi, what's the situation over there? We sent a helicopter over to monitor the situation, but something suddenly warped it back to the landing pad over here," the voice on the other end replied, which Tenshi could only vaguely remember as that female person meant to look over them.

"...We cleared out whatever weird problem it was over here, but someone by the name of Yakumo Yukari—you should know her by now, I'd assume—came in and spirited away the person we were bringing back to base. There's some weird old man trying to offer his services to us right now, and I've got half a mind to just beat him into the ground," she responded, glaring at the illusion as she spoke.

"Wha—no, don't do that! Look, just calm down; get back to your home with Takamachi and Vita, all right? We've gotten some news from the United Nations that might be of use to everyone, and wasting time trying to fight someone else right now will only lead to more problems!"

"But this guy's probably the reason we lo—"

"Don't argue with me right now. Please. You'll get a chance at a rematch with Ms. Yakumo later, but for right now you can leave that old man behind. There are more important things to deal with than cleaning up the area; that's what we're here for."

"Hmph. Fine, then; but you'd better compensate us for this later. Or, at the very least, me."

"Of course."

With a swipe of her finger, Tenshi glared at the shell before turning towards the two girls flying in the sky next to her.

"The people 'in charge' want us back at base and said to not wait around dealing with this... Person," she said before turning and flying off. "Whatever it is, it'd better be good. I'm not in the mood for formalities right now."

As soon as the call ended, Private Minami let out a sigh and massaged her forehead. Having to deal with characters that were relatively temperamental was a bit trying on her mind, after all, but it was hard to argue against the allure of being able to interact with people who were formerly "fictional" to the world. Granted, said world was also devolving into utter chaos at the moment, but there was some solace to be taken in the fact that things were... Kind of okay here in Tokyo. For now.

"Well done, you two," she said, ushering Mordred and Eva (with her newfound clothing) into the vehicle before starting up the engine again. "We'll be getting some other military personnel to move that... Thing... Off to a safer location to be studied, but for now we're headed back home. You're free to relax the rest of the night once I go run everyone down on the current situation. There's something you'll have to wake up a bit early for, but after that you're free to move about as you please."

Once everyone had returned back to the apartment complex, Private Minami wasted no time in quickly relaying how events had played out on the other side of the world; of the arrival of Yukari and Altair at the UN, of the other people in similar situations also banding together, and the subsequent trans-national alliance being forged between multiple nations in order to deal with this oncoming threat.

"So, in other words, we're going to have a video conference in roughly 10 hours with the group of people that have gathered in New York City to discuss a plan of action from here on out. There might not be much that we can do barring international flights, but that in and of itself should be more than enough to facilitate discussions. For now, though, we have dinner prepared for everyone; eat, take a bath, and get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow will be busy, what with ID registrations and this conference and whatnot, but it also means that everyone's free to explore as you please. Just... Please don't destroy any more buildings."

With that settled, the Private brought the group of girls over to a large table lined with various dishes, all of which were clearly prepared by a chef of some prestige. Of course, this was nowhere near gourmet fare, but at the very least it was something that the Private might consider a bit of a splurge... Especially considering the number of people that it was meant to feed.

"Please, enjoy yourselves. Despite everything that's happened, the least we can do is show some form of hospitality for your work today."

Leonardo Watch

The meal came and went without much issue, as did the money which was used to pay for it. There was a bit of pain in Leo's heart as he emptied his wallet (and the various places he hid his money in), but aside from not being burdened by money any longer there wasn't much left to worry about.

And so, the next few hours were spent guiding the rest of the group around as a de facto tour guide before finally returning to the UN building. The walk around had taken more than a few hours, and by now the city had grown dark. Lights had long since begun to brighten up the sidewalks by the time that they had returned to the location, and it wasn't long before Mr. Sharpton had arrived to escort the group back upstairs. This time, however, their destination was not the chamber where they had been earlier, but instead another, smaller conference room with a large monitor set up on the other side.

"Erm... Mr. Sharpton? What's all this?" Leo asked, a quizzical look on his face as he watched someone fiddling with a computer that was connected to the monitor.

"I apologize for the abruptness of this, but there were some further talks here after you and the others had left in pursuit of Miss... Saigyouji, was it? Seeing that you have found her is a great relief, of course, but as of right now we are currently in the middle of preparing a video conference to another team over in Japan right now. They are a bunch of people in a similar situation to you as of right now, so we believe it might be for the best that you talk with one another to see if you can't ascertain any further details of the situation. Of course, you'll be given dinner and led to your homes for the night afterwards, but as of right now it might be for the best that everyone meets what we could... Possibly call a 'sister team' to everyone else here now."

With that, Mr. Sharpton stepped off to the side (along with three other men, who Leo assumed to be either bodyguards or overseers) as the screen flickered on. Immediately, the group on the other end was visible, but before any introductions could be made, a blue-haired girl on the other side of the screen suddenly slammed the table and pointed at them—or, more accurately, at Youmu and Yuyuko.

"Huh?! What are you two doing here?!" she cried out. Yuyuko simply fanned herself for a moment, a smile on her face, before she glanced at Youmu.

"Youmu, I leave this problem child to you. After such a great chance to explore the Outside World, I'm not quite in the mood for spontaneous arguments."

Shokuhou Misaki

The rest of the night had gone by relatively uneventfully, barring the sudden earthquake that had people milling about worriedly outside for a bit. It wasn't an issue though, given that Japan was used to earthquakes and the buildings were meant to resist them, but it wasn't exactly the most pleasant way of being half-woken up right as she was about to fall asleep.

But some way or another, the esper managed to get some amount of sleep before waking up early the next morning. Miku, it seemed, was already awake, given the fact that she was by Hibiki's side and trying her best to shake the girl awake.

"Hibiki... Hibiki! It's already almost 7, you know..." she said, still shaking the girl beside her as Misaki slowly dragged herself out of the sleeping bag.

"As I expected, I miss my bed already," she groaned, peering outside the tent and glancing around. Nobody else, it seemed, was really awake, nor was the person who she has sent around to relay information to her. All things considered, that might've been for the better.

"Come on, you two; Ikebukuro's no small distance away, if my memory is correct, and it'll likely be more than an hour's walk if we want to get there without running into any trouble," Misaki stated, brushing herself off before sighing. "Oh, how I wish I could've just rented a hotel room instead. A shower would be so relaxing right about now..."

Video Conference With Japanese Team

It had been an...interesting turn of events after Yuyuko had spoken enough of this "Yukari" to give the small empress an idea of her character. A love of scheming, coupled with doing what she would feel is best for her own world of origin. If they were long-time friends, this information was perhaps a good thing to work from for that individual's motivations at least. It was little to go with so far, but she would note this down for later as potentially playing into why this "Altair" was working with her, and vice versa.

However, following their stint in the restaurant, the group had been given a lovely tour of the informal sort. Truly this city was fitting of its title she had been told, that being "the city that never sleeps". They had been able to walk by a grand building reaching high into the sky, a "skyscraper" as she had it described to her as, with a proper title of the "Empire State Building". A wonder of engineering by beorc of this world to be sure, but paled in comparison to the great Tower of Guidance that stood in the center of Begnion's capital great capital of Sienne. They had even passed through a grand park in the city that left her with ideas of implementing something of the sort back home.

Eventually back at the "UN Building", she stood in front and center of the screen in the conference room as best as she could position herself. Then as it cut on, she watched for a moment in almost mixed mild amusement and frustration at the rudeness as a figure on the other end immediately belted out at the swordswoman and her master for a second. Though after the outburst, the small empress stepped forward with head held high, confidence in her step, and looked at those on the screen with a somberness and formality. Perhaps she could start in a manner that befit the seriousness of the situation, before any potential idle talk went on or too many questions erupted into both parties to get back on a single track.

"Greetings, fellow migrants to this world! My name is Sanaki Kirsch Altina, 37th Empress of the Begnion Empire! Like you all, all of us here have been pulled into this strange and mostly unfamiliar world by some foreign entity or unknown force," the small empress said, her voice carrying loud enough like a true king or ruler, confident yet diplomatic, calm yet seriously determined. Not simply a royal air being thrown out willy nilly like some pompus nobleman/noblewoman or petty king. Though her tone seemed to carry a sort of regal nature to it as well, of the noble and aristocratic sort alongside how she held herself (regardless of said figure's physical size), "We have, as you all perhaps have as well, faced some challenges since arriving, and further desire to find the truths behind all of these goings on and to return to our homes. As such, i sincerely hope that we can be of benefit to each other, and work towards a true solution in these dark days."

Aile

Serious Talks Are In Order...

Time: A Bit Past Midnight

As Aile and Birdy had torn apart the behemoths of monsters from the inside out, the soldiers had continued to provide supporting fire to the two to get the monsters to "open up" for their surprise. And one by one, the King Dodongos had been slain and left to rot on the city streets, before the black rift of magic that had sat there shrank and vanished where it had stood. No more monsters were arriving for now, it seemed.

But wait, rot? As it had turned out, the longer it took and the monster bodies began to....stay, not disappearing as they initially had been. But this was perhaps a minor problem. The death toll was being estimated into at least the hundreds, potentially at least a thousand plus, with a few having escaped into the rest of the city proper.

Though as for the two heroines? A certain captain had stepped forward, ensuring the two meant no harm and had saved them and maybe London at that. And as news helicopters got some initial images of the "heroes", the two girls were carried off to a single shared room at a local London hotel secured by the military. Here they met with the same man that Aile had spoken with, before: Captain James Woods, who had explained the basic situation to them here and going on around the world. From here he informed them they would have some hours to rest, wash up, even be provided a meal before going to meet with the British Parliament.

Hours later....

"I hope you two have had some time to rest up, but the convoy is here to take you two to the meeting, we need to go," the man said on the other side of the door after knocking on it, tone official and stern, but trying to be polite enough despite the circumstances as well.

The Biometals had been quiet for a while, perhaps taking things in, maybe thinking on the situation before talking to her again. Though...the silence had been nice, as had getting to a room, washing off monster guts, pulling on some new casual clothes of this world that had been provided, and just eating a basic and hearty meal. However, Aile hadn't been much for talking to the other new arrival, as she had sacked out on her bed after eating, passing out asleep upon the soft sheets to get some needed rest.

"A-Ahhh," Aile said, yawning aloud as she stretched her arms a little bit as her body was roused into waking up, eyes lightly scanning the room to look for its other occupant.

Konpaku Youmu

There hadn't really been any time for Youmu to actually explore the phenomenon known as fanart. Instead, she'd been far too busy keeping up with Yuyuko-sama, following her the entire time as they traveled around town. To be honest, she welcomed sleep after all of that. Especially given that she'd been trying her hardest... and she was going to sleep with Yuyuko-sama so close by. She'd been worried, before, that she would go to sleep concerned about her mistress, wondering if everything was going well, wondering if she was needed. But now, well... Yuyuko-sama was here. Youmu didn't have to worry about such things, because she could simply hear if she was needed from Yuyuko-sama directly. That, and, well, it was comforting to have someone she had known for so long in this world as well, for the duration of their stay here.

It put the small girl more at ease. That being said, it couldn't be denied that Yuyuko-sama was also something of a rather silly person, and... well... she was sometimes a bit odd to deal with. That didn't mean that she wasn't thankful.

And, of course, tonight... well, she was used to working at all times of the day and night, so Youmu was quick on her feet, swiftly preparing for the meeting. She didn't know how this whole 'video conference' thing worked, but it seemed quite simple in the end once she got there.

They'd speak to someone else through a screen, who was somewhere else entirely.

Only, when she got there...

"H... Hinanawi Tenshi!?" exclaimed the white-haired girl, any semblance of politeness shattered in an instant. To think, she'd see that girl here of all places! "I could ask the same thing of you!"

Even if those around her weren't aware of the circumstances that surrounded Tenshi, they could certainly pick up on the fact that Youmu did not exactly enjoy learning she was present in this world.

"I can't comprehend how anyone could entrust someone like you with something so important!"

— Ikebukuro —

Ben moved across the city and by morning he had made it to Ikebukuro in order to meet up with the three girls from the night before. Ben was avoiding having to travel by warren too much. The high mage still didn't know what, if any, gods were present in this world. With that thought, as the trio he was approaching came into view, he paused.

It was very likely that there were others that could have access to the warrens, untrained and undiscovered. The possibility was there that they were already using them subconsciously. The idea only stopped him for a moment and then he approached Misaki, Miku and Hibiki.

— United Nations Building —

Ennis walked back into the UN building, having a terse conversation with the guard manning the metal detector that wanted to take her newly acquired weapons away. There were people present possibly capable of levelling the entire building with an idle gesture, a handgun was the least of his worries.

She threw herself into a chair off to one side and watched the screen.

— London —

As the last of the monsters went down and the Captain made as if to speak Birdy held up her hand for silence. She walked away for several minutes, jumping into the Thames to rinse out at least some of the gore that was hanging in ropey globules from her hair. Then she returned and followed him to the rooms that they had been provided.

...

Birdy's shower was a long one, much longer than necessary with the result that she was only just finishing her meal when the captain returned to collect them. She hadn't needed a change of clothes, being able to simply change into the form of Arita Shion.

"A convoy? how cute. I think that we've already proven ourselves to be more than a match for anything they might want to protect us from, and it would hardly enable us to travel under the radar."

She shrugged and stood up from the rooms small table, grabbing an apple from the bowl on the way to the door.

Hinanawi Tenshi

As soon as Youmu spoke out in response, the blue-haired Celestial moved to her feet, half-ready to draw her sword and cut the monitor in front of them into pieces. It was only at the intervention of another young woman off to the side and a bit of whispering into Tenshi's ear, though, to simply bite her lip and take her seat once more.

"If you weren't half the world away, I would shoot you into the ground," she said, glaring at the half-ghost gardener with irritation as she calmly brushed off Sanaki's own introduction. "Too formal. Too long winded. Do you really think that you need to act so proper right now, little girl?"

It was clear that Tenshi wasn't the most pleased about having to deal with Youmu and Yuyuko, and her somewhat surly attitude could possibly also have something to do with having to wake up early enough to be here in the first place. The latter, of course, seemed to be marginally aware of that fact. Smiling behind her fan, the ghost girl glanced towards Youmu for a moment before speaking in turn.

"After last time, I'm surprised your babysitter allows you to even move about freely. Is she really so occupied with handling your mistakes that she can't even pay attention to you any more?" she asked, giggling slightly as Tenshi visibly tensed up. "I certainly hope that the people you're 'working' with can deal with your little temper tantrums."

"Do you want to fight again? I don't care if I lost last time, I'm seriously going to get you two if you're going to keep spitting in my face like this!" Tenshi hissed back, ready to sping at the screen as the girl from earlier hastily waved her arms as if begging them to stop.

"Could I ask if you could refrain from aggravating Ms. Hinanawi, Ms. Konpaku and Ms. Saigyouji?" she asked calmly, hoping that one of the most physically adept members of the group would be enough to get Tenshi to calm down. "For now, let me introduce myself—Private Hanako Minami, at your service. As of right now, I am working as the formal adjutant and overseer of the Japanese team you see in front of you."

There was a moment of silence before the Private sat down, waiting for the rest of the people present to speak up. By this point, she definitely couldn't rely on Tenshi being professional, and given Yuyuko's and Youmu's recent actions...

"Hmph. Very well, then. My name is Saigyouji Yuyuko, and this is my gardener, Konpaku Youmu. We live in Hakugyokurou, which itself is situated in a land called Gensokyo. Shall that suffice for now?" the ghost girl finally stated, watching as Tenshi used all of her willpower to not go flying at the screen. It wasn't as if she could reach them anyhow, so it was quite satisfying watching her as she was now.

NANOHA TAKAMACHI

Nanoha delivered an extensive report, detailing every circumstance of the mission, to Private Minami as soon as they came back to their apartments. She made sure to「Seal」the item left behind by the suspicious man, before handing it to the Private for further investigation. She also made a formal request for a TSAB and JSDF joint operation, in order to supply Nanoha with the needed apparatus for her to operate as efficiently as possible.

After that, she used the rest of the time she had to rest, check on Vita's situation and take a closer look at the media this world had about her, in order to confirm a few doubts she had ever since she fought Yukari. After going through all she could get her hands on, Nanoha was almost certain that this was far more complicated than they being fictional characters given life and sentience all of a sudden. The rabbit hole went deeper and Nanoha was now, determined to find whether or not it was truly bottomless.

Furthermore, she couldn't simply turn her back to a world that was facing such an unprecedented crisis. Both as representative of the TSAB and as a person she had an obligation to help as much as she could.

❖ ❖ ❖

"Tenshi-chan, please calm down. I know how you must feel, but this isn't the time for this kind of attitude. I'm sure you'll have the chance for a rematch soon. But for now, please calm down," Nanoha said, placing an arm in front of Tenshi to get her to back down.

Supposing that the short-fused angel complied with the requests to not escalate the volatile mood even further, Nanoha pulled her hand back, before placing it over her chest. "It's an honor to meet you all, I'm Captain Takamachi Nanoha of the Time and Space Administration Bureau or TSAB for short. I believe that you are all aware of our current situation, so I'll cut to the chase," Nanoha said in a way that resembled Chrono's business-like mannerisms. "Are there any of you who command Dimensional Travel related magic or similar abilities? After we fought against a person named Miss Yukari Yakumo, I came to the conclusion that there's more to this incident than meets the eye but my magic is far from enough to elucidate it. If any of you could offer any help, I'm sure we could all go back home as soon as possible."

"Regardless of being able to help or not, I'm deeply thankful for your cooperation," Nanoha added before bowing respectfully.

METEORA ÖSTERREICH

"So, it's just as I have theorized. Miss Yukari and Altair, the two of them seem to be at the crux of this incident," Meteora thought out loud as soon as Nanoha finished her request.

"Ah, forgive my rudeness. I'm Meteora Österreich, librarian of the Kunst Wunderkammer, better known as the Sage of the End of the World, or so I'd say normally, but given my circumstances, I'm uncertain what's the best way to introduce myself. If you want more information, please watch the anime called Re:Creators, I'm sure you'll find it very ironic," Meteora said, quickly correcting her own absentminded lack of manners.

"To answer your request, I'm—or was— able to perform such magic as the one you mention. However, since this world doesn't operate like the one I came from, I'm unable to access those powers," she said before drawing the Book of a Thousand Miles from under her mantle. "The knowledge is still here though. Just like you, I believe that Miss Yukari and Altair, perhaps along with an unknown third party, are the key to solve this mystery. If we can get to the bottom of this plot, I may be able to assist you."

"Anyway, is there anything else to add?" Meteora asked as she steped back, giving the word to whoever wanted to speak next.

Yatogami Tohka

"I don't get it. Why did this have to happen? Why do I have to be alone again? Why do people always lie? This just makes no sense at all," Tohka thought as she walked through the semi-deserted streets of Tokyo, after having escaped from the Diet building and wandering around for the whole night.

"Where is everyone, anyway? This is just like back then," she said as she looked around. The city was in complete chaos and shambles, after all that happened in the past twenty-four hours. Tohka hadn't even found something to eat in the previous night. She was now, both hungry and alone in a place that she didn't know anything about. This was really just like the time before she met Shidou, except that she wasn't being attacked merely for existing... yet.

"I don't like this world. I just want to go back home," Tohka said as she finally found a vending machine on an empty street, covered with a ton of what looked like randomly placed piles of ash and a chaotic scenario. "It's also too dirty around here," she thought before walking towards the machine and trying to see if it would at least take her money and give her some food.

Oversleeping aside, Hibiki could agree that having a hotel room for access to showers would be an improvement, but really, on the walk to Ikebukuro, something else was on her mind... and her stomach was being quite vocal about it too. Ah, instant ramen was good for temporarily filling your stomach, but it was no substitute for a proper dinner, and things weren't looking up on the breakfast side of things either... it wasn't like a lack of food would get in the way of fighting or protecting the other girls from damaged scenery but she was hungry.

"Ah, is that Ben, from yesterday?"

Klaus considered his excursion the previous day to have been a success: it wasn't a perfect fit to Libra's office, but it fit the same general profile. It was spacious, had multiple rooms, and wasn't so easily accessed that it would be impossible to secure. Nor did it stand out as an obvious government building, which might be necessary if there were actors opposing the UN's efforts to contain the opposition. All that remained was for the money to be transferred and they would be able to begin furnishing the property beyond whatever spartan effects it came with.

Of course, someone actually concerned with the money they were paying probably would have had a far more difficult time of it than the massive man, particularly someone of less intimidating appearance.

"Klaus von Reinhertz," he added to the growing list of introductions, "My experience with portals is the result of two worlds irreversibly merging and unlikely to correspond to the situation as it presents itself here. Though you say you fought Miss Yukari in Japan? Even if she proves unable to help us solve the crisis, if she could help us with that level of instant travel then it wouldn't matter where in the world trouble occurs."

Why were all the children on their side of the world? The actual child was the most mature of everyone that had been stranded in Japan to start with... everyone else that had been there seemed terribly hotheaded, already often to their own demise. The refrain of "I'll win next time!" was hardly an unsurprising one in the context of rivalries and friendly competition, but really, without any attempt to improve?

Still, the smart girl was asking for magical expertise: "I have some experience in the field of dimensional manipulation," though it was far more in the sense of 'literally manipulating time and space to make a side dimension' than teleportation. It was a shame that she hadn't any access to them.

Mordred

Mordred wasn't exactly happy. Servants didn't need to sleep, but that didn't mean she liked being woken up this early and dragged to something she had no way to contribute to. What was she going to say, that she'd killed some stuff that was causing trouble? That was really the only thing she could contribute. She had no patience for stuffy meetings like this, and she didn't recognize a single person she was looking at through the screen. Needless to say, it seemed like the blonde knight was particularly irritated with this situation. It didn't look like her potential Master needed her either... was there even any point in her being here?

No. No there really wasn't. Mordred wasn't going to sit here, bored out of her mind, as she watched people yammer at one another. They'd have to provide her all the important details afterwards anyway, right? That's how this whole thing worked. There was absolutely no need for her to be here.

The short girl got to her feet, jamming her hands firmly in her pockets as she did.

"There's no reason for me to be here," she commented, with a shrug, glancing between the... sizable pink-haired girl and the tiny blue-eyed samurai girl, "I'm not gonna sit on my ass and watch a cow and a brat complain about one of our team members, then listen to everyone drone about stuff I'm gonna learn later anyway. I'm out."

With that, she turned and started to walk away. Unless she was stopped, Mordred would leave the building entirely and likely go off to buy snacks.

The white-haired girl, who had managed to calm down enough to tolerate Tenshi's presence, suddenly shot to her feet on the other side of the screen.

"Excuse me?!"

Mordred didn't respond.

Hinanawi Tenshi

The blue-haired Celestial paused for a moment as Nanoha intervened, looking as if she wanted to say something to the girl before deciding to step down instead. As things were right now, it wasn't worth the effort to destroy the screen in front of them (especially since it wouldn't really do anything for her), and so Tenshi let out a huff and took a step back from the screen.

"Fine. Whatever," she remarked, arms crossed as she watched Mordred unceremoniously excuse herself from the whole ordeal. "Hey, if you're leaving, I'm coming too. No point in being forced to sit quietly as people insult me from half the world away."

With that, Tenshi quietly followed after Mordred, a smirk on her face as she watched Youmu balk on the other side of the screen. Private Minami seemed as if she was about to try and stop them, but in the end seemed to decide against it and simply let her shoulders sag in defeat.

"I, erm... Apologize on behalf of those two for their behavior," she said, quietly glancing away from the screen before shaking her head. "In any case... I believe it would be best to ascertain what Miss Yakumo's and Altair's current plans are before we attempt anything more than disaster control in our region. If it comes to resources, however, the Japanese government is already willing to help supply everyone present with whatever you need."

"The US government is as well, though, at this point it depends more on what incidents you end up resolving," Mr. Sharpton added from the side, nodding his head. "I can't say that anything that manipulates the space-time continuum or affects parallel universes won't also be heavily desired by every other nation in the world, though; in fact, if my superiors caught wind of the fact that you had success, well... You probably understand by now."

Yuyuko simply nodded, glaring at Tenshi and Mordred as they exited the room on the other side of the screen before closing her fan and sighing. It was a bit odd, having people talk about her best friend's actions without even consulting her, but if there was any time to speak up, it would likely be now.

"I don't believe it would be too hard to convince Yukari to aid us," she remarked, pointing at Klaus with her fan. "The problem is, however, that she likely has her reasons in cooperating with whoever is behind this; I know for a fact that she would never directly intervene in the Outside World without any reason, much less with parallel universes or what have you."

"Hm... Well, it would be helpful if we could ask her directly, but given what happened last night I'm not sure if she's in a 'talking' mood..." the Private responded, glancing at Nanoha for a moment before turning her attention back towards the screen. "If either side wishes to fly over and meet the other, however, that can be arranged. Despite the dangers present in your current line of research, I do believe that creating such a thing might also force our targets out of hiding. For the moment, though, introductions do seem to have concluded. Is there anything in particular you would like to ascertain from the other side? Please, do feel free to speak your mind if you so wish."

The question, of course, was directed at both parties. Even with two less people on one end of the discussion, there was still likely a lot to be gleaned from this line of discussion.

Leonardo Watch

"Ah, um..."

Leo sat off to the side, somewhat speechless at the direction that the whole conversation had taken. He hadn't yet seen Youmu this mad at someone, so that was worrisome in and of itself... But on the other hand, it was good that Klaus was thinking about the problem from another angle. All this talk of dimensional travel, however, was making him feel a bit uneasy. It was as Klaus said, after all; the Great Collapse had irrevocably changed their New York City into Hellsalem's Lot, and so he himself really couldn't put all of his confidence into the plan that had been proposed.

"I... I have a question!" he suddenly shouted as he raised his hand, giving away that his entire body was tensed up in the current atmosphere. "E-erm... I remember hearing that similar incidents were happening all over the world, but no one really told us anything more than what we already know happened here in New York. I'd think that all sorts of stuff happened in Tokyo as well, but... Have you heard anything from any other countries?"

"Hm... Well, since any further talk of dimensional travel might be intercepted by other parties, it might be best to leave this line of conversation to a time where the relevant parties can meet up in person," Mr. Sharpton said, arms crossed as he continued. "The short answer: Yes. The internet is a veritable goldmine of information right now, and despite the fact that many nations are trying to hide their current situations, it is fairly obvious that a few might have already been compromised. Any more than that is classified information, but I would still recommend we place the safety of the US and Japan first at the moment. It would do us no good, after all, if our bases were compromised."

It was fairly obvious what Mr. Sharpton's goals were, but Leo did have to admit that he had a point. With that being said, though, if they did succeed in winning Yukari over to their side, then it was possible to start fixing up all the problems that had piled up in front of them, if only a little.

Maybe. Hopefully?

Shokuhou Misaki

Once Hibiki had woken up, the three girls had promptly gotten up to start their walk towards Ikebukuro. Seeing Ben already having arrived at their intended destination despite not having been told as much, though, was... Odd. And somewhat creepy, to be quite honest.

"Hm... I don't see any police blocking off the area..." Misaki said to herself quietly before turning towards Miku. "Last night, you said there was building damage, right? What caused it again?"

"Oh, I think it was closer to the center of the city..." she began to respond, only to freeze up for a moment and grab onto Hibiki's hand. "Hibiki, look!"

Following Miku's finger as she pointed towards a towering office building a little ways off, Misaki could barely make out the silhouette of what seemed to be a wolf as it stood tall for a moment. It took a few moments for the beast to move, with speed abnormal for a creature of that size, and Misaki watched as it leaped from rooftop to rooftop without much delay.

"A... Wolf?" she asked as a biker with a yellow helmet covering their head drove up to them. Instead of talking like she had expected, however, the biker quickly pulled out a phone and began typing a message before showing it to the group.

"What are you doing here?! Haven't the police told you it's dangerous in Ikebukuro right now?!
Go get somewhere safe; there's no reason for you to get hurt."

After a few moments, the biker silently pocketed the cellphone that had just been shown before speeding off after the wolf, passing by a girl staring at a vending machine in the process.

"Erm... That was... Odd..." Misaki trailed off, realizing a few moments after the fact that she had been unable to read the biker's thoughts at all. "Should we follow after her? I think she's definitely hiding something about all of this, but..."
