Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: Inside Wizard Tower

Cuyler was rather enjoying the effect he was having on Ayra. If only because the effect was mirrored in him also. He stepped away from Ayra, giving her a moment to recoup while Atkin explained the pot in more detail. Cuyler glanced into the pot himself to see if he could see writing on the stones but they all looked blank to him. Perhaps hidden by Magyk. The fact that this pot had been empty for years but suddenly filled, made Cuyler wonder if that whoever had broken in was the one to replenish the stones. Atkin then stepped forward and pulled a stone out. Cuyler looked at him with alarm for he remembered the ghost that Appeared to him yesterday explaining of the danger the ExtraOrdinary Wizard Apprentice was in. This pot with the replenished Questing stones seemed to be a good bet into his safety. This one happened to be blank but Cuyler still turned around to look at Ayra.
He found her kneeling on the ground, holding her head with an expression that looked like pain. Cuyler stepped forward, about to place a hand on her back and question if she was alright when Ayra stood and looked at Atkin. Her eyes widened in horror before she screamed at him. Cuyler jumped back, alarmed by her sudden outburst. In all the years Cuyler had known Arya, he was sure he had never heard her raise her voice.
She scolded Atkin and Cuyler looked away, feeling as if he himself was being scolded for something he didn’t do. He shifted his furs, getting warmer now that they were indoors and ended up taking them off as Ayra spoke. He examined the detailing, deciding that new ones needed to be made before winters’ end so he had the new furs by the following winter.
At the mention of Queen Meliscente’s death, Cuyler refocused on Ayra. So it had been a witch to take their Queen. He had a strong feeling it was them, it was always the witches that seemed to cause death and destruction. In Cuyler’s mind there was no good witch. He looked over at Sylvi when Ayra fell silent. What if the witches knew of her? What would happen then? Of course she had lost her place to rule and perhaps she didn’t want to rule his homeland, but that never seemed to stop anyone from destroying each other.
“Arya, would you mind if I spoke to you in private for a moment?” Cuyler asked tentatively. He understood there was much to be done and so much more had come to light but he had the images of those words still in his head and her responding blush. Now was the time to ask for he probably wouldn’t see her for a few days and Cuyler didn’t want the moment to pass both of them by. Besides, he still had to tell her of Halley.

Amarantha

Location: Young Army Caravan

The atmosphere seemed to change with the medic’s announcement. Amarantha followed at a bit of a daze. A baby, born? While all this death was happening? How strange the world was. Amarantha looked at her people as she passed them, seeming only to be able to focus on a few faces that she passed. These were the people who had stayed. The people who either had nowhere to go or nowhere else that they wanted to be. They were faithful to her and they trusted her. She would give them something new to hold onto; revenge. The chance to fight for those they lost and to defend the family they had left. Most of those remaining may just be children, but they had more heart than most people twice their age. Amarantha would make sure they were trained, that they were respected and feared. She would give them all the chance they deserved.
Her vision became clouded when she stepped into the tent. There were many injured and a few that had fallen to death inside this tent. Amarantha paused, looking down at the familiar faces who had passed on. She couldn’t help but feel frustrated at their diminished numbers but a baby cooing drew her attention back to the reason she was here.
She walked over to the young woman, holding her newborn daughter. Her blue eyes stood out from everything, much like Amarantha’s own ice, blue eyes. They looked at each other a moment, discovering who the other was.
When Girl 118 invited her to meet her daughter, Amarantha found her arms reaching down to grab the child. She shifted, fussing for a moment until she found the next warm body and curled in. The little one popped her finger into her mouth and sucked on it, eyes opening and closing as she fought sleep. The hardened woman couldn’t help but feel a little bit of internal warmth at the sight. Amarantha took a step back and walked down the length of the cot and up the makeshift hallway. She brushed her fingers over the baby’s soft head and cradled her close.
”A new dawn, a new day,” she whispered.

Atkin Bowman

Location: Wizard Tower

When Arya suddenly snapped at him, he couldn't help but not say anything. His previously lightened mood soured back to what it'd been before he'd been visited by cats. Not only did his stomach drop low from being chastised and making Arya mad, but the reminder of his family, and the fact that he might not even have all of his family anymore suddenly made the entire situation seem that much darker. And yeah, he had been quite thoughtless there, but he didn't know how this shit worked. For all he knew the stones only activated when a draw was called.

But even through the shame and anxiety, he noticed Cuyler's reaction. Standing back there scared like he was the one getting chewed out. Atkin had made the observation yesterday, but he'd never imagine it'd be so accurate. Cuyler really was like a dog, acting like he'd be caught peeing on the carpet. How pathetic, grow a spine for god's sake. Or better yet a pair of balls, or was he fixed too? With his luck he'd probably have to spend the rest of the day with this wimp, which would only worsen his mood further.

"So what are we going to do with this?" Atkin asked Arya in reference to news of Meliscente's murder. "Like, we need to get it out there that Valda didn't kill her mum somehow, but I dunno if people are going to believe it, at least immediately and without any proof of it. One thing's sure, we can't keep going with everyone thinking their Queen's a murderer." If this Esren was indeed the same one who was behind everything shitty over the past day, it was at once a relief and infuriating that she was dead. She wouldn't really be able to cause trouble anymore, but at the same time, he still really wanted to punch her in the face. But if there was any real solace to be had at the moment, it was that he didn't have to worry about Valda secretly being some kind of matricidal lunatic, and that at least somebody had a chance to clear their name.

Myth the Muse

Location: Rambling's Room 1036

Myth wasn't sure what to make of the fact that in one minute she was with the two girls in a castle-like home only to be shuffled to somewhere else entirely in a matter of minutes. Then she remembered that she was dealing with a god and his offspring. Was it so hard to believe that they had powers too?

She took the sandwich and the sugar graciously. She knew she liked those girls before extending her attention back to Bruce and another boy. "So yeah. Um, kind of got the rundown on everything from these two. So you are a god from legends I grew up on and we..." she glanced at the other boy, "did things. So mind telling me what's going on now?"

Fleur La Mallificum

Location: Port Witch Coven Safe House

Fleur understood and she would bring the coven up to speed on everything in due time. She owed it to Nera to see her remains be laid to rest, even in unfamiliar territory. However, before she could Jezebel came in clutching her head and Fleur knew that to mean one thing: the girl had another vision. Seeing as how the previous one led to her altercation with Bruce, she wasn't looking forward to hearing it.

But hear it she did and a wicked smile spread across her face. It was delicious in nature and something she hadn't expected. She sent Jezebel off to get some rest before she scouted for Constance. "Change of plans. Let's get those defenses up but we have a new goal in mind. And this needs to be planned to the detail. I won't have another fiasco like at the Castle." And she relayed the vision Jezebel told her. She knew Constance would approve.

It was to be a new dawn, indeed.

Bruce Banner

Location: Ramblings Room 1036

Bruce looked at Tate, a little surprised by what he had said to him. Sure, he wasn't too thrilled by the name he had chosen to call him, but he was willing to overlook that. Giving Tate a slight smile as he was overrun by the twins. He laughed slightly at the two of them, before he had to figure out how best to answer them. "Tate is going to stay with us... As for that second thing, uh... Well... I don't really know about that Marya..."

He glanced over at Myth, hearing what she was saying and he let out a bit of a sigh, he had known this conversation would come up. The odds of Marya and Medea keeping their mouths shut for once were very slim, so he knew there was a good chance they would have told her. "...Well...Uh...Yes... I am from Asgard... Though my father is from Midgard, from Earth... I was going to tell you... Just wasn't sure how, and I knew that odds were the speedsters couldn't keep a secret to save their lives... It's just, complicated... Honestly you should meet the rest of my family sometime... Actually... I could take you to visit Asgard with me if you want to go... My sisters and I, we kind of watch over the rest of the world... We do that, and we specifically watch more of those descended from our father's friends from his life before on Midgard. That's how I ended up keeping an eye on the twins... My older sister Halley and I drew straws for it... But I actually like hanging around with the speedsters, even if they do drive me crazy sometimes... I don't look as old as I really am because my youngest sister seems to want to make our family live forever... Sorry... All of this probably sounds really crazy, but there isn't really anyway to explain it properly..."

Queen Valda

Location: The Palace

She nodded in response to what Emperor Taj had said, and watched him as he left the room. It was likely something very important, but that did not matter as she looked over at her brother. His choice of words couldn't help but cause her to giggle slightly, giving him a smile. He was alright, and that was all that mattered, well, that and her sister was fine as well. She hadn't really gotten to know her family before all of this happened, she hoped that she'd get to know them a lot better.

Valda returned her sister's hug, still smiling. "Why wouldn't I come after you Luna? You are my sister... And those people were taking way too long in bringing you back... I didn't even really care if for some reason I appeared in the middle of that witches' battle... I was going to go after you anyway, it didn't matter what happened... I was going to help you..." she said, glad that she had been able to help her sister.

Sylvi the Bard

Location: Wizard's Tower

She nodded as she listened to Atkin's explanation about the rocks, and she glanced over startled at Arya's yelling at him. Her explanation caused her to understand just how dangerous of a thing it had been. The stones were interesting to look at, but she didn't say anything about it as she listened to Arya's explanation of what had happened to the old Queen. It was saddening to hear, but it was great news to hear about the one's responsible death. Then she couldn't hurt anyone else at least.

Atkin did have a point, everyone in the Castle needed to be told the truth about what had happened to Queen Meliscente, but he also had another point. About how people likely weren't going to believe them. There had to be something done about it, but what? There was a lot of problems brewing to the surface, so what could be done? Sylvi stayed relatively quiet, just listening to what everyone else was saying, hoping that they would figure out something.

Princess Luna & Amarantha

Location: The Castle Courtyard

It had been a few months now after since her sister's coronation and things had seemed to finally somewhat calmed down as Luna stood in the courtyard just in front of the Castle. It was their usual training spot that they had agreed to use for now, she needed the training. After being nearly CradleSnatched by the Port Witches Amarantha and Luna had both agreed that it was a good thing to learn after Amarantha was assigned to be her personal guard.

Luna wore a simple red tunic, and pants as well it was simply and comfortable to move around in rather than a dress, Luna sat down on a nearby stone bench her practice sword was next to her as well waiting patiently for her. She had gotten very attached to Amarantha and considers her a very close friend, Luna started to think about telling her about her mental health as well. She didn't want to tell Valda or Myrus yet she didn't want to make them worry about her, and being the second in line to the throne it would make things a lot worse than they were now.

Amarantha stepped out of the barracks, enjoying the beginnings of the warmer weather. Her position had increased in the Castle and with it came plenty of perks. One unexpected was becoming the Crown Princess's personal guard. Amarantha had to admit this pleased her considerably. Ever since the battle with the Port Witches and not being able to save Luna completely, she had been beating herself up and looking for anyway to prove herself. The fact that Queen Valda trusted her with her sister, meant much more than Amarantha cared to admit.
Luna was already at their training location when Amarantha showed up. Amarantha smirked and slipped a dagger from her boot and threw it, it sliced just in front of the Princess's face and embedded itself into the wood behind her.
"Always on your guard. Always listening," Amarantha reminded her. Of course it took Amarantha years to be able to hear and detect things but that wasn't necessarily the point she was trying to make.

As Luna waited she wasn't paying much attention until Amarantha finally showed up, and before she could even react to her she threw a knife at her causing her to jump slightly. Looking over at the knife embedded in the wood next to where her head was, any closer it would have killed her, rubbing her cheek slightly, as she felt a bit of blood. "Sorry I wasn't really paying attention, while waiting for you.." Luna said as she quickly picked up the training sword in her hand and pulled the knife out and handed it back to her. "What are we going to be doing today?" Luna asked looking up at Amarantha.

"A little of this, a little of that," Amarantha responded. She took the knife back from the princess and slipped it back into her boot. "Show me what you remember from our last training session." They had gone over close combat moves. More than likely Luna would be disarmed. She needed to learn how to shake her attackers and to use techniques that would help her overpower male influence. Amarantha was strong and was able to put most men on their backs before they realized but the majority of the time, men will overpower woman in a hand to hand fight. Deception was a woman's greatest asset.

Luna nodded, as she started to take a few steps backwards and started to get herself into a fighting stance that Amarantha had taught her in the first few training sessions that they had. She knew that she'd easily be knocked down on her ass by Amarantha, as she looked up at her friend and teacher. Luna had improved a bit, but still she could be knocked over by Amarantha if she wanted to as well looking up at her, and gave her a slight smile ready for her to move. "Ready whenever you are." Luna said softly.

Amarantha slipped into a primal stance and didn't take more than a second before she advanced on Luna, taking the offensive as she lunged to take Luna down. Generally in their training sessions there was a lot of yelling on Amarantha's part. She would shout instructions, preferring the learn as you go method but she had to change her teaching philosophy a bit in order to fit the Princess. The would begin the fight aggressively and then Amarantha would back off and walk Luna thru some things. Teaching her how to use her size to her advantage. Amarantha normally sustained a few bruises from their fighting but that was because she constantly told Luna to quit holding back. The commander never took it easy on Luna but avoided hitting any places that could be visible from her clothing attire. Luna needed to know what it felt like to loose, to use that so she wouldn't give up and fight back. Normally it worked.
"You're not focused. Something is clouding your mind," Amarantha noted. They had separated to take a water break. Sweat was just beginning to line the woman's forehead. After nearly an hour of fighting, Amarantha had barely broken a sweat.

Once they were finished with their training and took a break Luna was sweating quiet a bit as she leaned forward, the training was very grueling for her. She didn't do so much aside from learning and lots of paper work and schooling as well, her eyes turned over towards Amarantha and bit her bottom lip and nodded. Luna felt like she could trust her right now, today was one of her better days where she didn't hear the voice constantly. While other days, like the night Amarantha barged into her room and asked who was there she walked over and sat down at the bench nearby. "I have had a lot on my mind recently.." Luna answered as she looked up at the woman, before sighing slightly. "Can you keep a secret, just between you and me?" Luna asked, feeling a little bit nervous.

Amarantha drank a cup full of water, dunking it into the bucket to sustain her thirst when Luna finally spoke up. She looked over at the Princess and rose an eyebrow.
"A secret? And here I thought you couldn't have any secrets," Amarantha said as she came to sit beside Luna. Amarantha didn't exactly hound the woman, following her to every possible location the Princess visited but she didn't let Luna go off on her own much or attend meetings without her being in the room or standing guard. It was possible for Luna to have secrets, it was just very slim.
"This wouldn't have anything to do with a few weeks ago and you talking to yourself, would it?" Amarantha had asked Luna surprisingly gently back then what was going on and she was using the same tone again. Amarantha would sooner kill someone then admit she was developing a fondness to the woman she sat beside. She had become fiercely protective and loyal towards her.

Luna looked towards Amarantha and laughed slightly, since her kidnapping she did have either Amarantha or a member of the guard follow her nearly every moment of the day. She looked towards her friend and gave her a slight nod, letting out a slight sigh as she grabbed a cup of water nearby and drank it. "Yes that is correct." Luna said quietly, and leaned back. "Every few generations, a member of the royal family gets mentally ill." Luna said, taking a moment the night Amarantha caught her talking to herself was a stressful day as well. "Ever since the coronation it's when it started, I haven't told Myrus or Valda this."

Amarantha listened intently, trying not to be judgmental towards her friend. It wasn't hard not to be. She watched Luna closely. She seemed to except what was happening but there was still a fear there, as was evident by her not telling her family.
"With what you have gone through Luna, it is hardly surprising you are the one to develop a supposed illness." When it was just them, Amarantha tended to throw protocol out the window.
Growing up in the poorest part of the Castle, you found a lot of people with illness. Even being in the Young Army, many of the children developed a tick or disrupted mental state. With that knowledge Amarantha truly was not surprised Luna was suffering similarly. Having been groomed to take over the throne, her sister mysteriously showing up again, taking Luna's rightful spot and then her brother developing his own break and Magykal abilities beyond anything they have seen... Well, who wouldn't become a little twitchy or resentful. "What sort of things are you hearing?" she asked.

Luna shifted slightly where she sat and looked back at Amarantha, it was a lot more complicated than that as well if Valda were to die or cannot rule for whatever reason it would fall to her. "It's not just that I don't want Valda or Myrus to worry about me, if word gets out that I am unfit if something happens to Valda it would turn bad. And the Castle and my family are relying on me to also marry Prince Tristan, I am not sure how he would react if he were to find out.." Luna rubbed the back of her neck, when Amarantha asked more about what the voice has said. "It's sometimes witty or sarcastic comments, and sometimes its darker I'd rather not say." Luna said softly and then looked back at her again. "If it becomes bad to the point, to where I hurt myself or someone I care about I want you to tell them."

"I'll tell them but I won't let it get to that point. As long as you are upfront with me," Amarantha stated. She was determined to protect Luna and she would continue to do so, even if there were strange voices in her head. "Still, unless this voice is telling you do things and you listen to it, I don't think you have to worry about harming your family or you're people. If you start acting on what the voice is telling you, I won't let anyone put you down. I'll do it myself." Amarantha wasn't intending it to sound rude or treasonous. Quite the opposite actually. She wouldn't let anyone touch or harm Luna, only she was allowed to do that.
Amarantha leaned into Luna, gently nudging her.
"It'll be alright Luna," she said softly. Amarantha did have a softer side. She just never let it out to play.

Luna gave Amarantha a slight smile and nodded, she was grateful for her to confide in it had been eating her up a lot inside and having being quiet about her slowly growing mental illness. Luna leaned slightly into Amarantha letting out a slight sigh, she just hoped that it wouldn't get to that point. She'd look into some form of treatment or cure at some point, and nodded. "Thank you for listening. And sorry for putting this all on you as well. Maybe we can try and look for some treatment quietly, or a cure even." Luna said quietly.

The woman shrugged and pulled her legs up, crossing them and unsheathed a weapon to test its sharpness. Amarantha had been given two promotions in less then a day after Puck dying. She had been juggling with running the Palace Guard and incorporating the Young Army into their ranks. Then there was the responsibility of Luna, for which she perhaps payed a little more attention too. The new development that Luna told her was just part of the job, another thing to protect.
"It's not anything I can't handle," she assured her friend. "I can ask a few people who are very discreet." Amarantha couldn't lie and say she was the one hearing voices. It wouldn't be good for her position as well. She had enough of a struggle maintaining authority over a group that was mainly men and then she felt like she was babysitting a lot of the time with the younger children.
"We should continue on our training. I'll will show you some more moves and then you can try them on me. Tomorrow I will bring in Titan for you to practice on." Amarantha uncurled her legs after stowing her knife and stood. There wasn't time to be buddy buddy with the Princess.

Luna nodded, she could trust Amarantha with asking around. "Sounds like a good idea to me." Luna said as she stood up, and grabbed the practice sword that she was given and started to make her way towards the center of the courtyard again. She did enjoy their practice lessons even if she did come back a bit bruised across her body, but she knew what she signed up for when they agreed to train and when to socialize after as well with her friend.

Cuyler & Arya

“Arya, would you mind if I spoke to you in private for a moment?” Cuyler had asked tentatively. Their group conversation had come to a hault inside the Tower and he felt compelled to speak with her. He understood there was much to be done but he had the images of those words in his head and her responding blush. Now was the time to ask or the moment would pass both of them by.

Arya felt her eyes drawn over to Cuyler, as if by some magnetism. There were important affairs to attend to, news that had just recently arrived and events that had been brought to light. As ExtraOrdinary Wizard, her job had just begun and would need to be completed with ruthless efficiency during this uncertain time for the Castle. With an inexperienced and new Queen, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard was the true power behind the throne. Yet as a human being...Her thoughts and loyalties were divided. She couldn't take her eyes away from Cuyler, as if he had cast some sort of Magyk upon her. "...Of course, I can spare a few moments."

Cuyler smiled and took her hand, leading her away for a more private moment. As they walked his hand slipped from a simple hand hold to intertwining their fingers. He felt comfortable, at ease with her and this only secured the question he wanted to ask her. Of course Cuyler was still nervous so he when he turned to face her he glanced away shyly before clearing his throat.
"I was thinking, perhaps we should revisit the Myth of Four and what the siblings present in the Castle could mean. Maybe we could discuss the topic over a meal?" Cuyler asked. His eyes found their way back to Arya's rich green eyes.
His hand was still very present in Arya's and there was an unnatural warmth to their hold that brought him to stand closer to her.

She felt as if a thousand butterflies burst into being in her stomach. She blinked slightly, trying to concentrate as she stared into his green-almost-hazel eyes. For a moment, language felt foreign and strange as she tried to come up with an answer. Thankfully Atkin wasn't there - she had a feeling her apprentice would have some strong emotional reaction to this, though she wasn't sure if it would be positive or negative. "Would this meal be business or pleasure?" she asked, taking a slight step closer to him, nearly closing the small gap between them.

She took her own step towards him with her question, closing the gap further and Cuyler grinned. Their eyes were locked on each other's nice and he could feel the buzzing connection between them. The hair on his arms and back of his neck stood on end, just like it would back home before a snow storm hit or when an avalanche would come off the mountain.
"I think we both know the answer to that," Cuyler said coyly. The fingers on his free hand twitched and he lifted his hand, letting it follow it's own path to her hair and ran his fingers through a few of her curled strands.
There was a hesitation within Cuyler as a moment passed between them but he didn't let another moment pass. He grew up watching how his father handled his mother and even though his childishness prevented him from enjoying or understanding the reasoning behind those moments, he seemed to understand them completely now. He leaned in, his nose brushing across Arya's and rested there a moment. His lips were only inches away from hers but he didn't move any closer, even though every muscle ached to close the short distance. It was a silent question, an invitation that he hoped Arya would except.

Arya was quivering gently as Cuyler placed his hand in her hair - she was hyperaware of every moment of his and yet entirely oblivious otherwise to her surroundings. Queen Meliscente's ghost could have flown into the room shrieking that Rowland had been the true murderer after all and she wouldn't have noticed. Her eyes closed slightly as his nose brushed hers and her entire body was screaming out in need for the Northern Trader, prompting her to take another step until they were both pressed against each other. Simultaneously, she closed the gap between their lips, kissing him softly at first before giving into her heart's craving for him, putting her arms around him. She kissed him as if he were air and lifeblood.

For a moment, his heart stopped. Arya's body pressed against his and her lips soon followed, allowing Cuyler to respond accordingly and he kissed her back. Their hands let go and her arms slipped around him before his went around her waist. The close contact caused Cuyler's body to finally relax and he settled against her, pulling her close. There was no hesitation, no awkwardness, even though this was their first kiss. His lips molded to hers, almost as if their were made for each other. Curiosity got the better of him and Cuyler's lips parted, his tongue slipping out and traced her bottom lip where he could taste the morning tea, still on her lips.
Their kiss lingered but Cuyler was the first to pull away, his lips leaving hers but he didn't separate their bodies. His forehead rested against Arya's, eyes still closed for a moment while he took in the silence of the space around them. Her breath was the only thing he could hear at the moment, next to the pounding of his heart in his ears. His lips still tingled from their kiss and Cuyler was surprised such a simple thing could cause such feelings to arise inside someone.
"Is that a yes to dinner?" Cuyler asked.

A sensation of longing filled her as Cuyler ended the kiss, pulling away. Her eyes opened as she looked at him, breathing in his scent and for a few moments, the woes of the Castle had faded away. Her breath was in sync with his, as was her beating heart. "I think we both know the answer to that," Arya quipped, her body still pressed against his. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the floor flashing a colorful message of congratulations but it hardly registered with her. She just wanted to lose herself in his kiss again.

Cuyler chuckled and pressed his lips to her forehead for a minute before he pulled back to look down at her. His arms remained securely wrapped around her, in reluctance to let go. Of course they had touched before and Cuyler was pressed up against her less than twenty-four hours ago and although his heart had raced then, this was much more different. He enjoyed their newfound closeness.
"When would you like to have dinner?" he asked her. All of Cuyler's attention was on Arya that he never noticed the message flashing obnoxiously on the floor.

"...I have to go assist the Queen tonight..." Arya answered softly, reluctant to think about duties and authority at the moment. She just wanted to continue to feel Cuyler's warmth and stability, to continue to press herself against him. "...Perhaps tomorrow as well...Would two days' time be suitable for you?" she whispered, her lips less than two inches away from his again.

Two days. It didn't seem like much but with current circumstances, it seemed like forever. Yet Cuyler understood her duties and responsibilities. He valued them and he had his own to attend to. The wait would give him the time he needed to question Halvor and what happened to him. She moved close to him again, lips inches from his and Cuyler smiled.
"It is acceptable," he teased her. He moved in closer, just about to kiss her when he spoke again. "Will dinning on the Hefring be respectable enough?" He didn't want to make her uncomfortable but he didn't want her to be surrounded by thoughts of her job or the potential of someone interrupting their time together. Cuyler wasn't expecting to monopolize all of her time, considering all that had been brought to light but he wanted some quiet moments with her alone.

"Provided there's no midnight swim involved, yes," Arya murmured, unable to help herself as she closed her eyes and kissed him again, slipping her tongue out from her mouth and beginning to explore Cuyler's, memorizing and drowning in the texture and sensations associated with it. She wished that they could have their meal sooner - but her job as ExtraOrdinary Wizard had to come first, even in affairs of the heart.

The responding comment slipped from Cuyler's mind as Arya kissed him again, his lips parting and their tongues tangled together. With one arm remaining wrapped securely around Arya's waist, Cuyler ran his hand up the ExtraOrdinary Wizard's back and into her hair. He rested his hand gently on the back of her head as they kissed more intimately, discovering more about the hidden connection between the two of them. His heart raced and skin burned where her body was pressed. It was a rather addictive sensation and Cuyler wasn't about to pull away this time.

She shivered where Cuyler's hand had been as it traveled up her back, pressing herself more firmly against him. As the kissing deepened, Arya was in a state of pure euphoria and bliss, letting out of a soft moan of pleasure. She had no knowledge of how long they had been standing there together, as well if anyone had seen them, but she could not bring herself to even consider pulling away from him.

When Arya let slip a soft moan, it sparked something inside Cuyler and he gripped her closer, responding to her desire of him. His heart leaped at the sound, confirming the rightness of his own feelings of bliss. His tongue took pleasure in roaming the inside of her mouth before it slipped across her lips again. He never imagined this would be their future. That when they met a few short years ago, her eyes wide with all the treasure he had on his table and the stories that came with them, that they would end up here. Kissing in the Wizard Tower with a Magykal floor still celebrating their reunion. Cuyler pulled back but kissed her again, softly on the lips this time.
"I should go," he whispered, lips brushing along Arya's as he spoke. The sense of time had escaped him, leaving Cuyler unsure of how long they had been standing here, talking and embracing. Cuyler was sure though, that it had been longer then the appropriate amount of time. However, the Norther Trader still made no motion to release Arya. His lips slipped from hers and kissed her jaw line. Following the path to the right side of her face where he placed a kiss on her warm cheek.

"I know," Arya said softly in agreement, longing to feel his lips against her jaw once more. Her entire body was quivering with need for him. Each shift of his hands, every movement - it was like fireworks were going off, just for him and her. Yet nothing could last forever and despite not realizing prior how much she wanted him, all of him, they had run out of time most likely. Queen Valda needed her - the Castle needed her. "I wish it were different, Cuyler...That I were a nobody and we would not have to part at this time. I truly do."

This statement startled Cuyler and he looked at Arya curiously, his head slightly cocked to the side. He brushed his fingers through Arya's hair, watching the movements of her hair falling and concentrating on the smoothness of her hair.
"Why? You know I understand who you are and the obligations you have right? Our lives started in different directions but the Urd brought our threads together and together they will remain." His thumb came and brushed the colour back into her cheek. "We won't be parted for long," he assured her.

"I have no idea what the Urd are," Arya admitted, but she understood the gist of his message and caught his meaning. "Or what our threads symbolize...So I hope you are prepared for at least a million questions come our shared meal. I'll bring a fresh notebook - and perhaps a bottle of wine that Rowland brought with him from his time in the Lagoon. They've mastered winemaking over the last few centuries and..." she trailed off, kissing him again lightly. "I am sorry, I'm rambling..."

Cuyler smiled while she talked, well rambled. His fingers continued to play with her hair while she spoke. He looked back at her, smile still present even as she leaned up and kissed him again. She pressed against him as she did so, Cuyler became aware of the necklace still wrapped in his clothing. He chuckled in her response to her apology.
"I like your rambling. I always have," Cuyler informed her. He dropped his hand and shifted his furs, making it look like that was all he was doing. "Yes, there is much we should talk about in regards to the Land of Lost Nights. I could teach you some New Norse terms as well. They often describe a situation better," Cuyler explained.
With the necklace now in his hand, he slipped his hand back and looped the arm around her. His hands hung loosely, undoing the packaging and he leaned in for another kiss as a distraction. He kissed her softly, a promise of more to come in two short days. Gripping the newly freed necklace in his left hand, he ran his right hand up her back, slipping it under her hair so as to lift it from the back of her neck to create space for him. Here he had to let her go in order to bring the necklace up to her neck and take both ends in each hand. He tied the necklace and pulled away from her lips to see.
"I wanted to give this to you earlier but with everything that has happened, there didn't seem the time for it," Cuyler explained. It was a necklace from his home land, a rare find and although it would have given him a more than a fair amount of money, he only ever saw Ayra in it. The emerald gem had made him think of her eyes as clearly as if he was looking into them himself.

Arya smiled at his sleight-of-hand, taking one hand off of him just so she could lift up the necklace and look at it properly. It was absolutely gorgeous, with a brilliant green stone that truly did match her eyes. And she had a penchant for jewelry, which didn't hurt at all. "I love you," she said, before she blinked. "I mean, it. I love it. Oh my goodness, I do not know why I said that, slip of the tongue...I mean, I do quite like you Cuyler - a lot, as is surely evident by now and maybe someday but..." she had to cut herself off, feeling like she was going to dig a deeper hole for herself.

He wrapped an arm back around her while she examined the necklace, smiling all the while. It truly was a work of art, one of a kind. Cuyler's eyes widened and for the second time that day he blushed. He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand, listening to her truly ramble now.
"I understand," Cuyler said, filling the space after she trailed off before there was any awkward pause. Before she could doubt for a moment what was between them. Cuyler removed his hand from his neck and hooked his fingers under her chin, making her look back at him. He looked into her shinning green eyes and smiled ever, so slightly. "Maybe someday," he agreed and sealed their statement with a kiss.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Arya was quite looking forward to her date with Cuyler, having picked out her favorite green dress for just the occasion. Her purple cloak that she donned over it signified her status as ExtraOrdinary Wizard, as did the amulet strategically placed to rest below the necklace Cuyler had given her. Her hands were bare, allowing the scar from a training accident to be plainly visible. She had gotten burned badly during her study of potions. Her shoes were sturdy, as she had never quite been on a boat before - she and Rowland, whenever needed to travel, had just decided to use a simple Transport during her years of study.

She appeared in a shimmer of purple at the Traders' Docks, peering at the line of boats. She wasn't quite sure which one was Cuyler's, yet she imagined it would become self evident shortly.

Cuyler had never been happier than he was in this moment. He used his clean charm and watched as his small ship, on deck and below deck was cleaned and shined up. Each item found it’s home among various shelving and although it wasn’t the most organized, it was at least clean now. This, along with his heat charm were the couple of Magykal items Cuyler couldn’t do without.
Thia watched all of this, perched on the gunwale while she watched Cuyler in mild amusement. Of course she wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but she felt the nervousness and excitement in the air. Her tail swung from side to side, occasionally hitting the side of the boat in a way to express her own excitement. The sun began to set and there was a prickling Thia felt along her skin. She hopped onto the deck and trotted below so she could go through the change in private.
Up above, Cuyler worked on lighting candles and moving the table and chairs back into position. Slowly the tiny ship transformed into a different thing. On the docks, people passed and called out to Cuyler. Laughing and harassing him about his whole hearted attempt in transforming the boat into a romantic getaway. Cuyler ignored them all, completely focused on his task, even though he was continuously looking back at the gate, waiting for Ayra to show. He wanted this night to be special for her, needed it. Even if nothing romantic had transpired between them two days ago, he wanted to give her a break. To set her mind at ease and show her a different side to what destruction had been brought forth.
Several minutes later Thia reemerged in her wolf form and walked elegantly to the bow of the ship where she sat and waited, knowing there was someone important coming. There was a simmer of something in the distance and a woman appeared. Thia looked back and watched at Cuyler continued to fuss over nothing. Huffing, Thia took the gangway down to the docks. She lightly jogged down to where the ExtraOrdinary Wizard stood. Thia stopped for a moment and watched the woman curiously. In Thia's wolf form she would come to stand well past Ayra's hip. After the moment's pause, Thia walked out of the little shadow and nuzzled into Arya's bare hand. Thia never let anyone touch her in this form, save for Cuyler, Lyra and Arya. There was a deeper trust the wolf had for these people, everyone else, including the other Norther Traders, weren't allowed within two feet of Thia without her growling a warning at them.
Thia escorted Ayra down to the Hefring, where the soft glow of candlelight came into view. She nudged Ayra to walk up the ramp before her.

"Oh, hello Thia," Arya greeted, once she felt the wolf nuzzling her hand. She couldn't help but smile, feeling as if Thia saw her as some stray and lost pup in need of guidance and direction, as the wolf nudged her up the ramp. She knelt slightly for a moment, giving Thia a pet. "Thank you very much," she said earnestly, before she stood again to her full height and walked up the ramp, amazed at the product of Cuyler's work. She always imagined vessels like these would be so messy as to make Atkin's room seem neat and orderly. "Cuyler?"

Thia gave a wolfish smile before she trotted off. Cuyler was secure for now and safety for her master was important to Thia. But now that Arya was present, Thia could go off and hunt for a decent meal.
Cuyler came hurrying up from down below when he heard his name. His whole face seemed to light up when he saw Ayra and he stood tall as he walked out onto the deck.
"Welcome aboard the Hefring!" Cuyler greeted. Arya was standing just beside the carved center piece of Cuyler's deck. He walked over and nodded at it. "The tree of life and the symbol of Valhalla," Cuyler explained. He walked closer to Ayra, slipping both of his hands into her. He glanced down, feeling bare skin rather then the fabric of her gloves. In the glow he saw a faded scar on one of her hands. He stared at in a moment, wishing to inquire what it was from but they would have all night to discuss their past.
"How was your day?" Cuyler asked her, being more polite with the start of their evening.

"It was fine, thank you," Arya answered, looking curiously at the carved centerpiece. The tree of life and Valhalla - both terms that she was not familiar with, though the first one at least held a Myde English clue as to its purpose. She gave his hands a squeeze, taking her gaze away from the carving and instead, looking into his eyes. The candlelight caused their color to change beautifully. "Mostly discussion of diplomacy options with the Eastern SnowPlains...After the death of Snaera and Peter..."

Cuyler shifted and lifted her hand, the one that was scared and pressed his lips to the scar tenderly. There was much unrest between the Land of Lost Nights and the SnowPlains. Cuyler's home was wherever his ship sailed but he was still from that dark land, still felt a relative degree of loyalty to it and after finding out the lost princess was here in the Castle? There was a new patriotism inside Cuyler.
"Are you working with Asha the Magykal?" Cuyler asked. He knew Ayra wouldn't be able to disclose everything to him but he wanted to at least know if things were going well or not.

"Yes - but with Emperor Taj for a larger extent," Arya answered, blushing lightly as he kissed her scar. It had been a painful lesson, yet a lesson learned nonetheless. She stepped closer to Cuyler, a bit cold in the night air but truthfully she just hated the distance between them. Her mind was filled with memories of what had transpired two days ago. "Apparently in their land, the emperor is an elected position," Arya mused, smiling slightly. "It boggles the mind, I must admit...For there to be a new ruler of that land every eight years...And it was just by chance that his sibling was the most talented in the land with Magyk - hence her own title."

Just by chance? Cuyler wasn't so sure, nothing was by chance but every land held their own beliefs. Arya stepped closer and Cuyler wrapped an arm around her. He was more than warm here as this land didn't fall quite as cold as his homeland.
"Perhaps with the new leadership every few years, it helps to keep their country moving forward. Giving them new opportunities to grow. Would you like to eat above or below deck?" Cuyler asked her. He had a table set up here as well as downstairs, depending on what she preferred. Below deck was of course warmer but but he wouldn't put her somewhere she wasn't comfortable with.

"I s'pose so," Arya agreed, yet the concept still felt a bit strange. Of course, any consideration of it was banished from her mind as Cuyler wrapped an arm around her, feeling safe and warm within his grip. "Above deck?" Arya requested. It would be chillier but she adored watching the Castle light up as night fell. It was a longstanding tradition that every window of the Palace would have a candle or some other source of flame, with the lights dancing upon the river. Wizard Tower's white stones gave off a shimmering purple sheen - and on nights before examinations, it was particularly strong as young apprentices frantically crammed and memorized Charms that would be forgotten by the next morning.

Cuyler smiled and led Arya over to the little table he set up with two chairs. He didn't have anything fancy like a table cloth but he had clean silverware along with napkins he managed to retrieve from a local pub.
"I'll go grab the food," Cuyler stated after he had helped Ayra into her seat. He kissed her cheek before disappearing below decks for a moment. Cuyler had developed some cooking skills over the years of travel. His father taught him some things, along with his mother but he learned most of his skill once he was on his own, developing quite the skill for hunting game in the forests as well as sea creatures. Tonights meal was simply gathered from around the Castle and other traders. Each item came from a different land and he thought Ayra would appreciate that.
He came back up the stairs and placed the still warm plates in front of Ayra's place as well as his before he sat down. He looked from his steaming plate over to Ayra and smiled.
"I'm no chef," he warned her. "But it is edible." He chuckled as he spoke and picked up fork to start eating.

Before Cuyler reemerged from below deck, Arya had taken a moment to press her fingertips gently to where he had kissed her cheek. She could still feel a tingling warmth that lingered. She turned her head and smiled as he came back up, seeing the exquisite assortment of food he carried. It reminded her of the feasts they would have at Wizard Tower, yet with much improved variety. It seemed to be simply divine and the assortment of aromas and the exceptional appearance made her almost regret that they were about to eat it. "I'm certain your cooking is wonderful," Arya said with a smile. "At any rate, it is likely much better than any sandwich Atkin could prepare," she joked with a small laugh. Her apprentice refused to use the Magykal appliances oftentimes and Arya would watch, with amusement, as he prepared his own food by hand.

He chuckled and took a bite of his food and chewed it carefully. He had tasted while he cooked, including giving Thia samples and both seemed to find the food acceptable but you could never be to sure when you were feeding someone else. Underneath the table, Cuyler's leg extended and pressed against Arya's. He was rather tall so it was hard to keep body parts to one's self comfortably, besides that, he didn't think Arya would mind.
"Atkin's a good kid. A bit rough around the edges but I think that's good for who he's going to become." Arya was a little more delicate and proper, a perfect envoy for the Royal family but Atkin would tell it like it is with no sugar coating.

"If I am honest, I do not know if he wants to be the next ExtraOrdinary Wizard - but he has a kind heart and will go far in life wherever he chooses," Arya replied, taking her first taste of Cuyler's food. The food tasted delicious, with so many flavors that she hadn't gotten the chance to encounter yet, and Arya smiled at Cuyler. However, feeling his leg pressed against her sent a shiver down her spine and her heart began to speed up. "So...The Myth of Four," Arya then requested, trying to avoid thinking about other things, as intoxicating as physical contact with Cuyler proved to be.

"So what happens if he doesn't want to be the next in line? Do you start all over again with someone new?" Cuyler asked. He watched her eat, pleased to see that she didn't seem to hate his food. After Cuyler's leg brushed up and rested against Ayra's, she seemed to move right on to the Myth of Four. Cuyler chuckled and poured himself a cup of wine before he turned and did the same for Ayra. As he did so, he retold the tale of the Myth of Four, who they were and who they came from.
"I know what some of you may think with the Мит о четири but they are real, as you or I." Cuyler set his fork down, after having picked it up while he spoke. He looked at Ayra, a serious note in his face and body. "Two days ago, as I was on my way to you, I detoured to a tavern where one of my friends had died in the fire. I went to retrieve his body but was stopped at seeing a woman there. She knew me, called me by name though I had never seen her before and then her hands glowed red. She brought ashes from the ground and Halvor stood before me again, alive and whole. It was Halley. I was blaming her for the chaos that had befallen the Castle the night before but she informed me that this was not her doing before she disappeared." She had to believe him. The things she had seen, things he himself could probably never imagine, she had to believe him.

"A traditional ExtraOrdinary apprenticeship will last for seven years. Most ExtraOrdinary Wizards will take on several apprentices throughout their lifetime - Rowland, for example, had four. I was his last - the first was Jarvis Yule, an Ordinary Wizard currently and whom I regard as the most senior among them. Then Athelyna Wyvern - she moved to the Lagoon with her wife after finishing her apprenticeship. There's no Magyk system in place there, yet I hear she is attempting to convince King Nicholas to establish one...And then...Peter Wylie - he didn't complete his apprenticeship, since he had fallen in love with a girl from the Eastern SnowPlains and moved there, becoming their Grand Magician - what we would call an ExtraOrdinary Wizard."

Arya then took a sip of her wine, her cheeks with the slightest red tint. Perhaps it was the wine or Cuyler or the fact that she had likely given him more information than he needed - and she hadn't yet gotten around to answering his question. "Once an ExtraOrdinary Wizard dies or retires - more often the latter - they will choose the apprentice that they feel to be the most qualified. Of course, in the case of a dispute there will be a challenge...what you would think of as a Magykal duel...I imagine I will end up having four to six apprentices before I retire."

She then furrowed her eyebrows slightly. Although she didn't doubt Cuyler, to bring an individual back from the dead was serious Darke Magyk. It was the sort of thing that would qualify as forbidden knowledge, locked in books hidden from even the Pyramid Library's collection. Not even the Manuscriptorium would carry all of those novels on the Darke Arts. "...You saw a woman raise someone from the dead?"

Cuyler listened with rapt attention while Ayra spoke in a little more detail to the inner workings of the Wizard's and how the next in line was chosen. It was perhaps a bit too much information and she seemed to drift from his question but he enjoyed every minute of it. He ate while she spoke, taking the time to get some food down before he would have to speak again. Cuyler thought on her words of Halley raising someone from the dead. She didn't seemed to thrilled to hear the notion and Cuyler had to admit it was a bit terrifying to witness but he was frozen in place as he watched her. And it was Halley. The four were of legend, told at every fire, every gathering. He was enthralled to meet one, one who knew him.
"Not, exactly. I know this will sound like I'm defending or, off to you but. Halvor was no more she... re-created him. He had no memory of what had happened, not even the fire. But, he remembers everything else and there is nothing off about him. I've been watching him closely, along with his best friend," Cuyler said. He didn't want Ayra to worry too much. Halley had seemed genuinely concerned about the destruction and he believed her when she said she had no part of what transpired two days ago.

"This woman - whom you call Halley - recreated someone out of ash," Arya mused, her fingers tapping on the table as she thought. She used to pick books from the Pyramid Library at random to read from, learning about the world and its rich history beyond what was taught at the Purple School at the Ramblings or within Rowland's lessons. Cuyler's words struck her, perhaps he was right and he had seen a deity of the Land of Long Nights - yet they reminded her of another tale. "I wonder if you might have seen the Supreme...It is said that there will one day be an individual so powerful as to best the ExtraOrdinary Wizard and the so called Witch Messiah...That they will unite all crafts of Magyk into one being and they will reign Supreme."

Cuyler watched Ayra as she thought this all over. He watched her eyes, as ideas and thoughts turned just behind them. She really was just fascinating to watch. You could learn so many things just by watching someone, how they ate, how they walked or responded to outside events. Cuyler finished another mouthful and sat back, beginning to feel full. He thought on her tale but gleaned nothing from the Supreme.
"I can't say that I have come across hearing of such a thing in my travels. Do you believe they, that Halley could be this Supreme? Or any of her siblings" If Halley was on earth, walking hidden among them, he wouldn't be surprised if the rest of her siblings were here as well. Cuyler glanced up at the sky, out of habit, and wondered if he would get to meet any of them as well. The stars were shinning exceptionally bright tonight.

Arya mulled over that, before she nodded slightly. "If a being such as the Supreme has existed, it would not be out of the question for them to essentially be regarded as divinity - perhaps the Myth of Four that you detail is real...and Halley - or one of the others - is the Supreme. It would not be out of the question for the Supreme to manage to extend their lifespan - Hotep Ra managed that feat according to legend, living in suspended time somewhere in the world."

Cuyler stared at the stars a moment longer before he looked at Ayra. Both things could be very real and therefor possible. The only thing was, only one of the Four could create immortality and was the one to extend all of the siblings lifespans.
"Nova, the youngest of the siblings had the ability to lengthen each of their lifespans on her own. With them being half human as well, they were limited just like the rest of us," Cuyler explained. So, in all reality, Ayra's theory as well as Cuyler's could be possible and if that was the case, they had a lot more to worry about than dragons, witches burning down the Castle and people coming after Valda.
"This is improper date talk." Cuyler shifted and rose to his feet. "Tomorrow. Tomorrow we will start determining what to do and where to go from, but tonight, I want to show you something." Cuyler leaned down and kissed Ayra on the lips. It sent a pleasant shock through his system, as there was a mixture of cold and warmth on their lips. He pulled back for a moment, his fingers brushing through her hair while that tingling sensation remained inside him. He grinned at Arya, shook his head with a chuckle and stood up. He extended his hand to Ayra. He would have loved to take her sailing, to get them away from the Castle and be shrouded in darkness. With the only light that of the stars above them but the recent storms had brought ice with them. The sea was clear of debris, however, they would have to fight through the ice build up around the docks in order to enter the open water. So Cuyler would have to settle for taking her up to the helm, where the candle light didn't reach so they could see more clearly.
"Come with me," Cuyler whispered. "Let me show you where our stories come from."

Location: The Ramblings

There was a chaotic peace that had settled across the streets of the Ramblings. No more was there the active hate and destruction of the night prior, but in its stead emerged confusion, suspicion and an unshakeable sense of doom. You could see it in the eyes of the passersby if you looked hard enough, a panicked emptiness that didn't know what the future held. Or even if there was a future to be had at all. In some there was a gilding of anger, in others victimhood, but among them shared a loss of faith. Faith in the Castle and the Queen. In the society they had built their lives atop of. For some, the very foundation of being.

But his eyes were different. His eyes were cold and they cut through the miasma that surrounded him. They were focused on something, a future that none that shared the streets with him could grasp. No, he alone knew what lie ahead. And that vision drove him forward. The man, shrouded in blue moved silently through the streets, nobody truly taking notice of him. Nobody save for one individual.

Strong, rough hands reached out from the shadows of the alley and pulled the blue clad figure into the dark. Roughly, he was shoved against the stone wall, a forearm shoved against his throat. His hood now cast aside, his face was revealed for the world to see, yet it was hidden by a mask, which hid away all except the eyes, that locked on to his attacker. The assailant was a thin, but firmly built man with fair hair and eyes that still carried remnants of tears.

"Do you know who I am?" The attacker spoke with the accent of one from the Land of Long Nights, but his clothes were that of a Castle inhabitant. There was no movement on the masked man's part to struggle away, and his eyes only stared forward.

"Of course you don't, but I know all to well who you are. You think you're so above it all! But I know what you've done and what you're after. The destruction out there, it's all your fault. Because of you, my brother's dead. But I'm going to stop you. To make sure that nothing like that has to happen again." And with that said, the foreigner produced a dagger he'd been concealing up to this point, given away only by a stray reflection caught from below. He began to vigorously thrust, stabbing repeatedly into the masked man's abdomen. In the span of a few seconds he'd managed to inflict several punctures in the torso.

Before he could finish the job, the world suddenly jolted out of place and he found himself on the opposite side of the alley. It took him a few seconds longer to process what had occurred. A powerful ache throbbed through his forehead. He had been head-butted? By the time he managed to return focus back to the mask man, the attacker found himself staring straight into those cold eyes. They contained no rage, only intent focus. And down in his hand was a drawn pistol, pointed directly his way.

The hooded man grabbed the bleeding garments he wore as he put up his pistol. Whatever business he had in mind previously would have to wait. Without medical attention soon, he'd be as dead as the ghost of the Young Army soldier not 20 paces away. But something caught his attention. Spilled out from the body was a small notebook. Slowly, he reached down and plucked it from the ground. It was leather bound, rough and worn from constant use. It was barely held together by the glue that was used to construct it, but it held together nonetheless.

On the inside cover was a name, scrawled out in pen: Aki Odinsen. The masked man flipped through the pages of the book, finding most of it dreadfully dull. For the most part it was a journal of mundane doings that barely held the interest of the one who experienced it firsthand. But he found one thing that made the distraction worthwhile. One of the items he was searching for. It had been in the Land of Long Nights as well. Had. But it was enough. Tossing away the journal, he covered his wounds from sight with his cloak and pulled his hood up. The man stumbled out from that alleyway, his gaze more focused than they had mere minutes prior.

"Foolishness," he said to himself as he walked down the streets once more. "I cannot stop. I shall overcome this."

The Port - Four Months Ago...

"Excuse me, but you are going to die in there," a little girl with a cute yellow dress informed the two teens. The older - a towheaded boy with shadowed blue eyes - just scoffed at the girl, motioning for his girlfriend to follow him inside. She was dressed in a faded and worn witch's cloak, likely purchased at a secondhand store, and her hands were covered in various rings. All of them had been promised to her by a traveler to contain genuine Magyk and serve any budding witch well - but none of them were real.

"Are you sure it's still here?" Anathema - called Annie by her friends - asked with curiosity. Her ginger curls seemed to provide just about the only light in the shadowed halls. Terrence - the boyfriend - nodded, snickering at her.

"Are you scared, Annie?" he asked, striking a match and lighting a torch. Her eyes were brown, yet they had started to turn blue - ever so slowly. His own eyes had turned blue about two months back, having previously been a boring black, as if his pupils were filled with dead beetles. Anathema punched his shoulder, nearly causing him to drop the torch.

"I told you, I'm not scared Terr," Anathema interjected. "So where did it happen - the fighting?"

"From what my mom told me, everywhere," Terrence replied. His mother was the head of the Port Authority and never really struck that proper work-life balance. She hadn't even realized that Terrence had been regularly sneaking out in the middle of the night, practicing Magyk and attempting to summon from the Other in the old Port Witch Coven house. He'd taken to keeping his hair long, long enough to hang over his eyes and help to obscure their new shade of blue that resulted.

"Hey, check it out!" Anathema said, pointing at something that seemed to be stirring upstairs. She ran up the rickety staircase, some of the wood rotten from the blood and about to fall off. The insects weren't helping at all, doing a number on the place. No one would purchase the home due to the history and it had become a property of the Port Authority.

"Good eye, Annie," Terrence said with a grin, hugging her from behind and giving her a kiss as they entered what had been Malekith's room. There were blood stains all over the place, but most of the implements Malekith had owned were removed and sold at auction. "This is where the Wendron Witch Mother died," he whispered in her ear.

"Say more horrible things," Anathema replied with a grin. Her eye was drawn to something like dust on the floor. She broke out of her boyfriend's arms and knelt down, running her hands over the dust. It had a strange quality to it - it moved like sand, yet she could feel energy and life coursing through it.

"I think I figured out how she died - Jadis," Terrence explained. Anathema didn't look over at him, just running her hands through the sand. She didn't hear a single word that he said, all of it turning into just noise as she continued to play with the strange substance. "Annie? Are you even listening to me?" Terrence asked, stepping forward and resting an arm on her shoulder.

Anathema turned and gave him a smile. "You shouldn't have done that," she whispered, before she gathered up the sand on her palm and blew it at him. As if it was deadly acid, Terrence began to dissolve before her eyes, until he too was reduced to sand. Anathema picked him up, scooping his remains into her hands as she started to play with them, her eyes glowing pink. She too then disintegrated into nothing, the sand swirling around the room before it burst out the window and headed into the night air.

"They never listen..."
Langatóftir - Four Years Ago...

Nestled within the mountains, there was the village of Langatóftir. To the west and down the slope was the sea, allowing many to travel and become traders, selling their wares to various countries - yet the Small Wet Country Across the Sea above all else. To the east, the mountains climbed ever higher until they sloped down into a valley, revealing the seat of the throne of the Land of Long Nights - the city of Fljotshverfi. But Langatóftir's more practical neighbor is Skogarstrond, practically its twin if such a thing were possible for settlements.

And while it's proximity to open waters on its western side has been a blessing for those who wish to become traders, today it is a curse. Two hours after the sun has reached its peak in the sky, the Fjándmaðrvǫllr arrive. They hold no legends and no stories, none recognizing their work behind the destruction of nine villages in the Land of Long Nights. If it were not for their own sense of pride, they would not even have a name to rally underneath.

"Herrer, du vet hva du skal gjøre," the leader, Grimhild, said simply. "Ikke la noen historier gå."

"Ja, heks Messias," one of the men responded, before the raiders descended upon the unsuspecting village. Unlike movies and films where such attacks are romanticized, it is anything but kind and romantic. Driven on with supernatural strength, as if the gods had meddled in the outcome of the fight, every warrior Langatóftir could produce fell to the blades of the raiders.

The women and children were not so lucky. Those with the more merciful fate were simply killed. Others were defiled prior to this, with each attempt to stop it falling upon deaf ears. The Fjándmaðrvǫllr were thorough, ushered on by their leader. Her piercing pink eyes surveyed the scene, as she instructed her men to grab the valuables and torch every building once it had been cleared - regardless if some person was still inside.

By the time the Fjándmaðrvǫllr withdrew, holding some of the women as pleasure slaves, the village had been desolated. Unbeknownst to them, Cuyler Eysteinsson had survived. Others returned to the village days later, in order to trade, only to find it reduced to ruins. One of these was the brother of Ravyndra Locke, a traveling bard by the name of Myth the Muse.

Eventually, as word reached the crown, King Alvis came to the conclusion that Reykjarholl, a village known to be a respite for the dredges of the Land of Long Night's society, had been responsible for the raid. All abled body men in the settlement were beheaded. And the Fjándmaðrvǫllr remained as less than legend.
Present Day - The Castle: May 4th, 12,508 - 9:00 AM

No one will be getting a character specific update here this time. I trust you all so you are allowed free reign on how you wish to start your morning. If you have any questions, please reach out to ask. General details have been included below for events of interest. Character specific updates will resume next update.

It was the dawn of a new silver age for the Small Wet Country Across the Sea, with the Castle finally experiencing some much needed stability. After Nera Hawthorn had been exposed as the murderer of Queen Meliscente, ExtraOrdinary Wizard Arya had helped Queen Valda to spread the word about the horrific deeds. The scribes of the Manuscriptorium wrote pamphlets on it, and while public opinion about Queen Valda is hardly the best, they no longer think she committed matricide.

Instead, the most common criticism of the new Queen of the Castle is that she is wild, young, and inexperienced - the polar opposite of Queen Meliscente in every way imaginable aside from eye and hair color. Perhaps surprisingly, only the Alchemists seem to have no quarrel at all with Valda, proclaiming her to be a breath of fresh air in these dark times - especially with all the Magyks coughing up blood left and right lately...

The Port Witch Coven - now reformed as the One True Coven - continues to be a formidable threat to the Castle. More and more witches and warlocks are joining its ranks, claiming that Fleur is the messiah that witchcraft needs now, more than ever. Some gossip that this mysterious Sickenesse can be only cured by the so called Witch Messiah and will be used for some deadly purpose. Others whisper in low light about the return of the Supreme - and of course, those from the Land of Long Nights look to the heavens, hoping that Nova will come down and cure their loved ones of their ailment, while cursing Halley for this chaos.

Today is a special day, however. At sunset (estimated to be 8:30 PM by Mavis Moll, Senior Alchemie Apprentice to Selesia Rincewind), there will be an open wedding at Wizard Tower, between Myth the Muse and Bruce Banner. The ceremony will be one traditional to the Land of Long Nights and Norse legend, including an exchange of ancestral swords - and a sacrifice to Thor, the God of Thunder. All who wish to attend should be in the Wizard Tower promenade at the end of Wizard Way no later than 8:15 PM. Members of the wedding party should plan to arrive at least two hours prior to the wedding. Bruce's sisters, parents, grandparents, aunt, and great-uncle will arrive before noon and meet the Banner family at their home on Alchemie Way before the ceremony.

Tristan is expected to spend the day in the company of Princess Luna, with the Queen Valda having an appointment with the CHS for approximately noon. It's a routine appointment - more or less a royal check up on one of the Castle's key institutions. Wizard Tower had already been inspected the week prior and the Grand Chamber of Physik and Alchemie has been scheduled for an inspection the following week.

As for the Eastern SnowPlains, news has reached Empress Astris of Prince Tristan's intent to marry Princess Luna. For Princess Luna to accept his proposal would be aligning the Small Wet Country with the Land of Long Nights in the brewing war - yet to reject it would be, in essence, affirming the side of the Eastern SnowPlains and pledging to follow them in battle. Emperor Taj has cautioned Valda to not make this choice lightly - and that while Luna's heart should be considered, so should the wellbeing of her people. The longer an answer can be delayed, the better...Hopefully, by then, tensions will have calmed down.

Skaoi and others skilled in Physik will likely have their hands full. If it isn't the infirmary at the Palace as it was before, it's now the sick bay at Wizard Tower. It's become overcrowded, forcing a tent to be set up on the Palace lawns - the only large green space with access to the river - in order to serve as a supplement facility for others with the Sickenesse.

Arya Rincewind

Location: Wizard Tower - 20th Floor

Arya had finished getting dressed for the day, preferring to start her morning with tasks that did not involve Magyk. To her, it was like trying to walk around without using one's left hand at all. Sure, it was an easy task in theory - but in practice, it was incredibly difficult. Especially since she hadn't let anyone know that she too was feeling ill - to have the ExtraOrdinary Wizard crumble in these times...No, it wouldn't do. She had to put the wellbeing of the Castle before herself.

Standing in the kitchen, she stared at the kettle on the stove. She had been using Magyk to brew herself a cup of tea since she was nine years old and Rowland taught her how to manipulate various appliances. "Come on, it's just a cup of tea..." she muttered to herself. Her head was pounding slightly and she hoped the steam would allow her to alleviate her symptoms some. Atkin she was certain would laugh at her, seeing her debating risking her health further to use a Charm to make herself some peppermint tea for breakfast.

She went and grabbed the kettle, filling it with water before she set it in the fireplace. She had seen Atkin do this a million times - it couldn't be that difficult, could it? Grabbing the tin of tea leaves, she looked at them and the pot, before she dumped them all in. Wiping a bit of sweat that had formed on her forehead off, she then took the flint and tried to spark a flame. Nothing happened. She tried again and again, feeling the exertion of even the modest activity and still...nothing.

"Hotep-Ra's anus," Arya muttered under her breath. Fueled by her own frustrations, she tried to strike it again, this time getting a spark that caught the kindling - and allowed the heating of the tea water to begin. "How on earth do people live like this..." she muttered, shaking her head slightly, only to feel exhausted and sit down in the purple armchair to collect her thoughts for a moment.

Myrus Silvers

Location: the Palace - Attic

Myrus took a shaky breath, sitting on a dusty old crate in the attic. It was one of the few places where no one ever came looking for him. Up against the small window, there was an old servant's bed and he had more or less claimed it as his own. Ever since it had happened, he had felt lost and confused - adrift at sea. The nightmares were cruel and violent, yet nothing compared to the knowledge that every time he touched something, there was a chance that it might explode.

He tentatively picked up the book in front of him. He had gotten it from Larry's Dead Languages on Wizard Way in a rummage sale. Wearing cheap clothing and a cloak, no one realized he was Myrus Marcellus Silvers, the only son of the late Queen Meliscente. He became just another boy in the crowd and he found solace in that. His hands continued to shake as he read from the page. While the Castle did not have much of a religious presence, he had become a believer in the legends of the Land of Long Nights - of gods who could intervene in the affairs of man.

Maybe, if he prayed enough, they might fix him.

"Hail Thor,
slayer of giants and trolls,
defender of Midgard...

Darkness gathers on the horizon
and troubling times lay ahead.
I call to you for strength to face these challenges...

Mighty Thor,
as you defend Midgard,
so too shall I aid you in its defense
standing up for the Earth and its people.

As you stride into Jotunheim to challenge the giants,
may I have the courage to go forth and challenge those I oppose...

As you uncover deception and illusion in your travels,
may I have the bravery to confront those
who seek to harm with treachery...

And as you take great risk to fight for Midgard,
may I persevere in the face of opposition
for the sake of doing what is right.

So be it..."

Antonije Magnisky

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way - the Basement

Antonije had begrudgingly adjusted to having less freedom than he had been accustomed to - as horrible as Constance had been to him, she more or less neglected him for a good portion of the year. He was able to live on his own, as well as come and go as he pleased. And while it was certainly lonely, Antonije was hardly a huge fan of people. Most people, in his experience, would stop at nothing and spare no one to get what they wanted. The world was filthy and cruel - so why be part of it?

However, as he looked at the warm sleeping creature in his arms, there was the hint of a smile on his face. He wondered what Тетка would say - though he had a feeling that Myth knew that Sylvi had spent the night with him. And that it wasn't by any means the first time. He pulled her a little closer to him, closing his eyes as he kissed her forehead softly. It was easy to see why she was born to rule a country - and his Silvija probably was the only person in the world pure enough to rule.

Silvija, wake up~ he prodded her mentally. However, Antonije didn't release his grip on her or even move to allow her to get dressed for the day. They had time before they'd need to get ready for Тетка's wedding - though, he guessed it was Bruce's wedding too. Kind of.

Princess Luna

Location: Palace - Second Bedroom, Third Corridor Off the Long Walk
Skills: N/A

Luna laid in her bed a little bit longer than she normally would, she couldn't help but shake the feeling that something very bad would happen today, but she did not know what. There was a lot of things also going on in her head as well with the marriage proposal also on her mind constantly. And of course her mental health, somedays had been bad where she just wanted to spend time in her bed alone while others they were fine and she was out and about most of the day. And of course she would have the occasional nightmare of still being in the Port Witches hands, doing things that she would never do for Fleur in those dreams. Luna made her way over towards her closet as she pulled out a red dress for the day, and started to get herself changed for the day.

Luna looked at herself in the mirror once she was fully dressed, she'd be spending the day with Prince Tristan, he seemed very nice in her opinion, since he had came to the Castle. Then a part of her did start to worry about her brother as well, there were times where she couldn't find him at all he had been through just as much as she did due to the Port Witches if not worse than she had, as she decided to try and find out where he was. As Luna finished getting dressed she headed out of her room, and made her way towards the nearby bell for a Messenger Rat.

Luna waited a little bit, figuring that maybe visiting the sick and helping out in someway would try and boost moral as well she would then hear the voice speak up in her head. "What a lovely miserable day isn't it?" The voice said, which made Luna rub the bridge of her nose quietly muttering to herself. "Just shut up will you please?" Luna whispered quietly.

Rhys Asher

Location: His home

Rhys ran his hands through his touselled hair that was appearing more brown than red from a lack of washing. He should the wizard knew, but he was loath to leave the apprentice he had taken on. A responsibility and duty he had not looked for. A tool to wield to his own means, yet a tool that went both ways for Rhys had grown to care for the boy known as Badger. Pressing his hands together between his knees the rogue Wizard looked at the brew of herbs that seemed to ease the boy's pain. While he tried to appear patient and bored, there was a pucker of worry about his brow as he stared at the grey skinned, black eyed boy who thankfully was asleep.

He had gone to see the Messenger Rats constantly. Badgering Fluer about the plague of strange sickness that had dared to strike down his apprentice, not that he said it was his apprentice who had been lain low. Rhys, however, could not deny his messages had carried more than a mere note of worry and the constant barrage of the rats were probably irritating the Witch Mother. He had shared with her his failures and successes. Oh, of course there were things he held back. Small tidbits that he wasn't sure of. Hints of things. While he was desperate, he didn't fully trust Fleur. The woman was now the Witch Messiah on high.

And it unnerved him.

Running a hand over his face, Rhys stood up and stalked from the room after casting his spells to conceal and protect the room. Spells of warning and watching as well, in case something went wrong with the boy. Food and water were in easy reach. Spells to ease his pain and ease some of the humility of being bed bound. Rhys shook his head. "Fight it, bo- Badger. You got your name for a reason." The gruff wizard encouraged in his own bleak way. "I've got a errand to run and then I'll be back." He wanted to tell the boy not to worry, to not get worse. But what would those words really do? Show his weakness, and it was something Rhys balked at. As a man and as himself.

Settling the spells in place he thumped down the stairs and out the door onto the street, hastening his way to the Wizard's Tower and the Castle proper. Perhaps some tome or scroll existed. Why'd he risk exile, imprisonment, or death over one boy was something that was lost on him. Rather Rhys had convinced himself this was all for his own health and well being if he did fall ill with the damned plague. Casting a Disguise spell about himself to give him a plain face and hair, something that would be easily forgettable or look like it belonged. Rhys however was careful to make his eyes a bright, innocent green. Though he could do nothing to hide the worry in them.

Skaoi Silverveil

Location: Palace - Traveling to Infirmity

Skaoi gave a small sigh as she lay amidst piles of books and notes, smudges of ink staining her fingers and one cheek standing out starkly against her pale skin. Her usually pristine clothing was stained and creased as she stirred weary still from a long night spent pouring over books and notes and trying different mixtures, seeking a cure for the Sickenesse. Her hair, usually neat and straight, was a messy braid that had seen more work than care. Blue eyes which were lively were pale with weariness and her face was lined with worry. The physik had been working herself to the bone and beyond in the past months to try and ease the grip the Sickenesse had on it's victims. It had gotten to the point she had left her home in the Forest to live- temporarily anyways= at the Castle in the Servant's Quarters.

Rubbing at her eyes, and unaware she was making a mess of herself giving her already shadowy late night side effects more of a ringed look, Skaoi looked over the notes she had been working over when she had fallen asleep. Ink had been smudged and there was a bit at the tip of her pale nose= dabbed at constantly as she had been nodding off as she had tried to keep writing. Keep working, she thought absently. Find a cure. It was her path. Pouring herself a glass of clean water from a jug, she drank heavily before turning back the work before her.

Pushing aside the ruined notes Skaoi peered at the tome she had been reading from. Her slim fingers absently soot streaking her hair as she brushed aside the formly pale locks. Dibbing a pen in some ink the woman set about noting the Burning Fever- an apt name. A Coven Mother had suffered an uprising which had tried to use the disease to lay low their leader, but it was they who had fallen. To ash to be specific. With a sigh, Skaoi stood and plucked the book from the table as she wandered from the stuffy room she had been given. Her feet tracing the path to the infirmary, skittering about people as she studied the pages carefully.

Her own notes tucked beneath one arm had it's own brand of information. Apparently Magyk herbs helped, but the dose would only grow with time. A stay over, nothing more and thus useless in the long run. The Sickenesse was not spreading like other diseases, something the Physik was grateful for. Had it not, she would be finding herself elbow up with the dead instead of just four bodies. Her lips turned down into a frown at that thought. She disliked loosing patients. No, Skaoi hated it. Hated failing those she was supposed to help and heal. Rather, Skaoi paused in mid-step saving herself from running into a wall, it seemed to be haunting the Magyk users. Greedy for the power that dwelt within them. For the use of magyk connected all the victims.

Turning from the wall she continued towards the Palace Infirmary, her nose almost glued into the book that revealing secrets she devoured. Hope that she craved to spread to her patients. Yet fear gripped her heart as she read the words 'Sleeping Dead'. A Dark Wizard who tried to take on the Founder, was it?, of the Wizard's Tower when it was first formed. Her face would go pale if it could, Sleeping Dead did not bode well. Was there something more to this ash? To this death? Her hand fumbled for the knob on the door to the room she had been travelling to as she reread the passage in the book.

Location: Their Individual Bedrooms ⇢ Palace Courtyard Clearing ⇢ Third Corridor off the Long Walk (Tristan), Queen's Room (Lyra)

"Rise and shine!" an annoyingly chipper voice pervaded Tristan's dreamless sleep. He stirred under the covers, his blue eyes fluttering open. He let out a small groan, rubbing his face before glancing around the room bleary eyed. Movement caught his eye, and he quickly saw that it was his friend Fyror moving about his room, rummaging through his wardrobe and trunks to pull out clothes and weapons. Early morning training it would seem. Great. Tristan didn't really know why Fyror always insisted upon dragging him along so he could essentially get the crap beaten out of him for an hour. The man claimed it was for "discipline," but he thinks that is just a load of crap. Don't get him wrong, he loved sparring but not at the crack of dawn when he can barely function, let alone wield a sword effectively.

"What time is it?" he muttered.

"6 o'clock," Fyror replied.

Tristan let out a loud groan. "Go away!!" he yelled, before pulling the covers back over his head. An earsplitting cry suddenly sounded off right next to him. "By the gods!" he exclaimed startled, abruptly throwing the bedcovers off of him and jumping out of bed, nearly thwacking his Night Transformer Nante in the process. The peregrine falcon apparently had decided to join him in bed, and it let out another shrill cry as it fluttered upwards to narrowly avoid getting smothered by the sheets. "I'm up! I'm up!" Fyror let out a chuckle, which subsequently earned him a well deserved, at least in Tristan's opinion, glare.

"Hahaha, very funny," Tristan mocked. Fyror threw a wad of clothes in his direction, which he barely caught and then began to change for training practice with Fyror and presumably Lyra.

Meanwhile in Lyra's room, things were less--eventful. She moved about her room, gathering up her clothes and weapons for the day, before she would head out to a small clearing by the palace courtyard for an early morning training session with Fyror and Tristan. Long before the two delegates from the Land of Long Nights had come to the Castle, she had always done such. She found starting her day with something structured and familiar helped her focus and ultimately set the tone for the day. She had to admit that she found training even more enjoyable now that she had a couple other people to spar with. Granted, she supposed she could have always sparred with her new superior Amarantha, but she didn't feel comfortable enough around the imposing woman to ask of such of her. Never mind the fact that Amarantha may then feel as if she was owed a favor in return, which was most certainly something Lyra did not want held over her head by the woman.

She let out a small sigh before choosing an outfit to wear and going behind the partition to change. She had invested in the simple wood partition some months ago, as the thought of Puck's ghost watching her change gave her the creeps. She had very much considered asking for a room change after Puck's death but ultimately ended up deciding against it as she didn't want to be a burden. In the meantime, she just tried to ignore the fact that the ghost of the former commander of the Young Army was chained inside her room for a year and a day, likely watching her every move if not just out of sheer boredom. An irrational side of her feared that he wouldn't ever leave. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought. She quickly tried to shake off the morose thoughts. She finished changing and brushed out her platinum blonde locks before braiding it to the side so it would be out of the way. She grabbed her sword and then promptly headed out the door.

Tristan let out a grunt as he hit the dirt. He blinked as Lyra's face swam into his view, partially blocking his previous view of the clouds. "My point!" she exclaimed with seeming eagerness.

"Yup. What is that, 10 to 2 now?" Tristan retorted teasingly. Lyra let out a soft chuckle and offered him a hand up. He took her hand, letting her help haul himself back up onto his feet. Apart from some bumps and bruises, he wasn't seriously injured from their training session. Unless, of course, you wanted to take into account a wounded ego. He glanced over at Fyror with a sigh. Amusement lit up the amber of the man's one good eye, before he turned to address Lyra. "You think we can call it a day on the training, Lady Lauerk?"

"How many times do I have to tell you? You can just call me Lyra," she replied, shaking her head lightly at him. "And yes, I think the prince has had enough."

"Of course. My apologies, Lyra." Fyror then turned back to Tristan. "You best be getting cleaned up. You're suppose to spend the day with Princess Luna, and I highly doubt she wants to be around you when you're all sweaty." The group said their goodbyes and then parted ways to get cleaned up and ready for the brunt of their day.

Stepping foot outside his bedroom, Tristan was dressed in the rugged "formal" attire of the Land of Long Nights, his blonde hair lightly tousled under his silver engraved crown. He let out a small sigh and adjusted his cloak and furs, before he began making his way down the corridor. He wondered if it would be appropriate to just walk up and knock on Princess Luna's door. They hadn't really discussed an official meeting place, or maybe they had and it had just slipped his mind. He nervously rubbed the back of his neck as he walked over to her bedroom door, which was only a couple doors down from his own. However, just as he was about to knock on her door, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head to investigate it, only to see lo and behold Princess Luna going over to the Messenger Rat bell. Convenient. He turned away from her door and strode over to her, clearing his throat so as not to startle her. "Morning, Princess," he greeted her, giving her a slight bow.

Meanwhile, Lyra left the servant's quarters, her sword rattling slightly at her side. She twiddled with her capsule necklace as her blue-green eyes drank everything in. She smiled softly at those she passed, and she went over in her head the queen's duties for the day. Valda had a meeting with the Chief Hermetic Scribe at noon, and there was the wedding between Myth and Bruce at sunset. Attending a wedding was certainly a good change of pace over the incessant meetings. It would be good for Valda, give her a bit of a breather hopefully. Lyra weaved her way in and out of the hallways and passersby before eventually coming to a stop in front of the queen's room. She knocked on the door without hesitation. "Your Highness? It's Lyra," she called through the door.

Myth the Muse

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way

Myth had woken up relatively earlier than normal. Whether it was nerves or the fact there was life bouncing around in her stomach, she couldn't fall back asleep. The past months have been a whirlwind. Finding out the guy she liked was part of the folklore from her homeland, and then getting pregnant by him, and now being wed into the family, it was all a lot to take in.

But it was beautiful and Myth wouldn't change it for the world. She lost her family when she was young. She got through it all right, she felt, but she never did have that bond. Friends here, bedmates there. In fact, she hadn't pegged Bruce as more than a one-time deal, but she ended up falling for him. And look where it got her.

She had a family now. Something she didn't know she wanted, but one she needed. And there was still so much left to do! Bruce's family was coming and she knew the kids wouldn't be helping to tidy up. So that left her to do it.

Fleur La Mallificum

Location: Port Witch Coven Safe House

Fleur had gotten used to the power. She felt herself grow and she attributed it to her new title. Witch Messiah. It did have a nice ring to it, didn't it? Soon, her flock had grown more. People came and sought her out. She would be the stuff of legends, she felt. If only she would get through this illness.

She had no idea where it came from or if it can be cured, but she had lost some to it already, and she herself was experiencing mild symptoms. Though she had other things in the works, figuring out this disease was top priority. She had called those of higher rank together for an impromptu meeting to discuss such things.

"All right. As I am sure you are aware, we are still dealing with this illness. It has now become first priority to find out what this is and how we can stop it. Or use it to our advantage. I ask that we not worry the children about it, but monitor them for symptoms. Other than that, I'd like those with healing knowledge to research possible cures. Or those with divination to look and see where this may go from here. Anything you feel can help shed light on to this, do so, with my permission. I'd rather all stay close to home for the time being, but if you do have needs outside, please let me know. Any questions?"

Atkin Bowman

Location: Wizard Tower 21st Floor

Atkin had been up for a couple of hours now. He had been long adjusted to waking up early in the morning to take care of household chores, and even though those weren't usually such an issue nowadays in the Wizard Tower, his internal clock was set, and to change it he'd have to put in significant effort. Since Arya woke up later/took longer to get dressed, he liked to spend this time doing independent study. Arya often didn't go into as much detail as he'd like on certain point, so this free time at the beginning of the day was a good time to look into those things, while he didn't have any other duties to attend to.

However, the noise downstairs was enough to clue him in that Arya was now out and about. She'd need him to make the tea. He'd been doing it every morning these past couple of months, what with everyone getting sick (himself included). First time around she thought he'd not be able to make it was well as her little Charm could. Hah, well he showed her. It was his first time trying it, but it was a pretty damn good cuppa if he could say so himself. Atkin closed the book he'd been reading and left the room, taking care to step over Chloe who was sleeping in the middle of the floor.

Briskly, but gently (if he went too fast it made his head ache something awful) he made his way down the stairway to see Arya sitting in her purple armchair looking right as rain. No wonder, having no clue how to deal with the Sicknesse other than not using Magyk. It wasn't too big a deal for him, he'd spent his entire life not using the stuff, but every day seemed to be torture for her, as far as he could tell. The stress of it all was probably getting to her. Casually his eyes scanned the kitchen and saw the kettle heating up for tea.

"Oh, are you making the tea?" he asked as he finished descending the stairs. As soon as his feet left the stairway, he felt something pass between his legs. Mere seconds later, the cause of the sensation made herself known by bounding up from the floor to a chair to the table and up onto the counter top. It was his other kitten Azula. The blue eyed cat looked at him for a moment and meowed before running off to some corner and blending away into the shadows. He wasn't sure what to make of that one.

Chief Hermetic Scribe

Location: Manuscriptorium

The Manuscriptorium bustled on as it always did, clerks sat copying the work of writers of present and past, ensuring their work lived on into the future. Others studied the notes of wizards and physiks, making sure to follow the written word to the last letter as they mixed together magykal potions for later use, sale and distribution across the city, country and to other lands in trade. These were more popular as of late, especially those with medical uses. On the other hand, those clerks who tended to spend their time toiling away writing down the Charms and incantations of wizards found themselves performing other tasks. Demand for those particular services had taken a significant decline.

This morning, there was a tenseness in the air among all the staff. Even the customers who came and went could feel it. People stood up straighter, there was a rigidness in their posture, a strain to their expressions. They were all watching out for something. Like someone had said that there was a wolf loose somewhere in the building, but nobody knew where. But for those who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, it became very obvious why the staff were as on edge as they were.

The Chief Hermetic Clerk slowly walked through the halls of the Manuscriptorium performing the Quarterly Inspection. Followed only by his second in command, Murphy Amundsen, the masked man stood tall as he traversed the building. Amundsen was a willow tree of a man, his dour face pale and lined like bark. The Chief rarely spoke, preferring to allow the Senior Inspection Clerk do most of the interactions with the staff. Murphy would go from station to station, asking what each clerk was doing, how their progress was, if they'd had any issues with their work up until this point and similar such questions. Afterwards, he'd use his spidery fingers to record some notes of what he had seen.

The Chief Hermetic Scribe on the other hand would simply watch his employees, and see how they reacted to both his presence and Amundsen's. They all knew he could fire them with but a word, and they carried themselves generally with the appropriate amount of fear and reverence. Occasionally he would look over the shoulder of one of the clerks. Even more occasionally, he would offer some form of correction.

"Fire. Not Fyre. It's an archaic spelling." or "You're stirring too slowly. The potion will take too long to react at this rate." He never raised his voice above a low level, but every time he spoke, everyone stopped to see if judgment had been cast. So far, it seemed nothing had managed to arouse his ire. The coming weeks would show Amundsen's reports on how to improve, but for now they had remained clear of any dramatic restructuring of labor that poor performing sections tended to suffer. When he had his fill of one area, the Chief Hermetic Scribe would leave, not waiting for the Senior Inspection Clerk to finish. He had managed to cover about a quarter of the operation so far, the next stop was the storage where they kept all the texts that were borrowed and preserved.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: Walking through the Castle to Wizard’s Tower

It had been a good winter for Cuyler Eysteinsson and his Night Transformer. Thia had been well fed all winter, having found meals for herself daily along with Cuyler’s supply. Although Cuyler didn’t make a lot of money, he had made enough to get by but that hardly phased him. The simple friendship that had started between him and the ExtraOrdinary Wizard had transformed into something exotic and precious to him and that is what commanded all of his attention these days.
Thia trotted faithfully beside her companion as they walked from the Trader’s Market towards the Wizard’s Tower. Thia knew exactly where they were going and if it wasn’t for the crowd she would be waiting on the step of the Wizard’s Tower already. She enjoyed the time spent with Ayra but not nearly as much as Cuyler. Cuyler adjusted the pack on his shoulder as he maneuvered around the crowd, the white of the Tower acting as a beacon for him.
He had been back for two weeks now, after going back to the Land of Lost Nights almost two months ago to resupply his trading wares and get that mead Rowland requested. Before he left though, the Sickenesse had spread through the Castle at an alarming rate so when he returned home, he visited with several healers in order to get some possible remedies and to question if they had ever heard of such a thing. He carried those supplies in his pack now, wanting to give Ayra a supply of them. He had started to notice the increase of headaches within his love and it worried him. Rowland and Atkin had also seemed to be developing these first stage symptoms as well, so he made sure to bring extra supplies. It didn’t seem to respond to anything Magykal so Cuyler hoped this would help.
The crowd seemed to open up as they came within several feet of Wizard Tower and Cuyler hurried forward, slipping the badge out of his pocket and pressed it against the door. Automatically the door swung open, allowing Cuyler entry. He sighed thankfully and stepped in with Thia. Now to determine where Arya was. It was still morning so Cuyler assumed she would be getting to her morning tea to set the day off. Thia seemed to have the same conclusion and she started up the stairs, well ahead of Cuyler to find Ayra.

Amarantha

Location: The Palace Barracks -- Training Yard

Amarantha leaned against one of the outer Palace walls, enjoying the warm breeze as it pushed thru her hair and across her black tunic which was elegantly embroidered on the edges in blood red with a dark, forest green belt, representing her position as Princess Luna’s guard. It was far more superior than anything Amarantha had worn but since her position change, she learned to indulge in the finer things; including, the purchase of a dragon skin fighting suit that she wore during missions around the Castle. The commander of the Palace Guard and Young Army flicked her right wrist, revealing her hidden blade. She adjusted the settings with her knife before she pushed a hidden button to bring the blade back in. Shadows fell across her face as she looked up to the sound of metal on metal. Amarantha had been up for hours already, having gone through a perimeter check in the pre-dawn light and then moved to check the weapons store. Now, dressed in her clothes for the wedding, she stood off to the side as she watched her men and woman train. With Queen Valda’s permission, she grew the Palace Guard and restarted the Young Army but on a better note. The children who remained were put to work all the same: laundry, weapons maintenance and recon within the Castle walls. Those aged between 13-18 started a training process that was mandatory. Once they turned 18, if they chose to remain in services to the Guard, they could go back to their tasks and train the younger children or, they were put through more rigorous training to join the Guard or an elite team that Amarantha ran herself. This group of highly trained people completed most of their tasks during the night, in the hidden places that nobody wished to venture to but it was required to keep the Castle safe.
In the middle of the training grounds now was her second-in-command, Titan, going toe-to-toe with a promising new Palace Guard recruit, Lennox. As usual they were surrounded with a range of bets being placed on who would win. Amarantha’s money would forever be on Titan, but she wasn’t a betting woman. She watched as Lennox remained ever silent and calculating while Titan strutted around, a smug smile on his face. It wasn’t until Lennox faltered a step that caused Titan to pounce and land the first hit against his opponent. The smile left his lips but a twinkle remained in his eyes as they fell into the game of cat and mouse. Pushing away from the wall, Amarantha walked towards the crowd. The sun glinted off of her gold necklace more easily as she walked. Without a word, the crowd shifted before her until he was standing at the front. Lennox opened his guard and Titan pounced, knocking the noble on his ass. Titan pointed the sword tip at Lennox’s throat, his adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed. Amarantha clapped twice and they looked up at their commander.
”Playtime is over boys. Time to get cleaned up,” she purred.
Another luxury. Amarantha was used to bathing in ice rivers but here they had warm water that never seemed to end and she pushed that onto her people. Nothing looked better than a clean and crisp army that could slice your throat with a simple shift to the right. Titan grinned at his commander.
“Do I get a kiss for winning another round?” he asked, resting the tip of his sword on the ground and leaned on the hilt. Amarantha walked over to him, batting her eyelashes as she peered into his own blue eyes. Even though Titan was hunched over, he was still a couple heads above her eye line. Their eyes locked and it only took a second for Amarantha to kick his sword out from under him and push back on his unbalanced top half, where he stepped back, hitting her leg and fell onto his own back. Amarantha sat on top of him, lips inches from his.
”I have a better idea. You can make sure every weapon is sharp enough to leave a mark on that pretty face of yours.” She stood back up and flicked a piece of dirt off her tunic.
”And do be on time for the wedding Titan. I would hate to have to cause a scene,” she said before walking away.
No one moved until Amarantha’s form was around the corner before laughter broke out through the crowd and jeers directed towards Titan. Amarantha smirked as she walked into the Palace, a spring in her step as she went.
Princess Luna would be with Prince Tristan at the present moment and she wasn’t going to leave the couple unattended. Serving as Luna’s personal guard, she also took it upon herself to be her chaperone as well. There was something about Tristan that made her want to stick closer when he was around. No one was that nice.

Bruce Banner

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way

To him, it had certainly been an interesting last few months, it had certainly not been something he had expected. The whole thing with Myth getting pregnant had definitely come as a surprise, and everything that followed felt kind of like a bit of a whirlwind. Now was the day of his wedding, and he wasn't too sure what to think of it, after all, his family was coming from Asgard to attend it. That was the thing that worried him most, not sure how they'd act around the Midgardians.

Don't get him wrong, he was happy that they were coming, in a way. It had been a while since he had seen his family, though unlike a few of his siblings, he was closer more to his Midgardian heritage as opposed to his Asgardian one, so he wasn't too sure what to think. A few of his sisters would definitely make things interesting when they met Myth, particularly Nova, but he wasn't going to think too much about that now. He walked out into the main area of the house, not too sure what to do until his family showed up.

Sylvi the Bard

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way - the Basement

Sylvi had gotten to know Tate over their time together since they got together. She had started falling for him since they first met at the tavern a few months back, and it was interesting to say the least. He definitely was not like anyone else that she had known, especially from back home. There was something about him that she found interesting, but she wasn't too sure what exactly it was. The fact that she had stayed over a few times was weird, considering she'd never had a serious relationship before.

When she heard his voice mentally prodding her, she opened her eyes, a little groggy, and looked into his eyes, giving him a smile. "...Good morning Tate..." she said softly, not really too used to the idea of talking telepathically with him too much, at least not yet. She did talk to him like that on occasion, but nothing too often, and she was still a little tired, so she didn't really feel like her brain would let her respond mentally.

Queen Valda

Location: The Palace - The Queen's Room

Valda had been thinking about things for a little while, lying in her bed. The past few months had been a bit hectic, especially since it was revealed to the public that she hadn't killed her mother. That had been only the beginning of her problems. Now people thought that she wasn't qualified to rule, and they were right about that, she wasn't. Though the only way she could get experience and get better at her job was by doing, so there wasn't really anything she could do about that.

The other thing bugging her was the thing with the Land of Long Nights, and their Crown Prince wanting to marry her little sister. She didn't know what to do about that, and she knew that they were getting closer to that date when she'd have to make a decision. It was not something she wanted to decide on lightly, since it would change things considerably. That wasn't something to think about right then anyway, she had to get up and get ready for that meeting later in the day. Of course, there was the thing with that wedding later too, but that was later in the evening.

Hearing Lyra at the door, she walked over and opened it, "Hello Lyra," she said, giving her a smile.

Present Day - The Castle: May 4th, 12,508 - 9:15 AM

@Nallore@mnkee@KazAlkemi: Once Luna rings the bell, a message rat appears quickly. It's a brown rat with three white spots, the rat standing up on his hindquarters and doing a sort of salute to the princess. Message rats were always particularly excited to be summoned to the Palace, especially since it was determined that no one in the Royal Family had committed homicide (yet). As soon as Luna says the traditional Speak, Rattus Rattus, the message rat - named Opal - will squeak out: "Your highness, what an honor! Who would you wish to contact today?"

@LadyRunic: No one stops to question Rhys this time and Ernie isn't hiding around a corner to bother him. Access to Wizard Tower is easier than normal today, with the first floor being open to visitors and guests due to the wedding that evening. It was a bit of a hassle to have to create a password and send to everyone involved in the wedding, along with guests...especially so, since it was a public wedding. Esmerelda's Divination Shoppe is having a sale today, located on Wizard Way - with every palm reading, there's a free SafeCharm.

@LadyRunic: Currently housed at the Palace Infirmary are all of the unnamed NPC's listed as stage two - that is, three young witches, three ordinary apprentices, and five ordinary wizards. In general, the patients seemed to have improved slightly overnight. Bed rest is doing an okay job at keeping them from advancing to stage three, but for how long it'll work is anyone's guess. Becky is asleep on one of the spare beds, having told herself she could take a five minute nap about an hour ago. She had been awake for twenty four hours straight tending to patients.

@FantasyChic@BlueSky44: Marya and Medea had woken up with a horrible, pounding headache. If they hadn't known any better, they would have blamed Antonije for it. However, the twins had gotten dressed and were pretending they were perfectly fine as they sped into the kitchen to get breakfast, going slower than normal - but they didn't want to be told to stay home from Tata's wedding. "Да ли се осећаш добро, Сисси?"

"Имам главобољу, ти?"

"Мислите ли да ће тата учинити да останемо кући?"

"Не за главобољу, не мислим."

"Не може рећи да смо спорији, зар не?"

"... Мислим да је вероватно могао да обрати пажњу."

@FantasyChic: A tall warlock raised his hand, his blonde hair long enough that from behind, he was often mistaken for a witch. With a slight smile, his light blue eyes seemed to bore into her as he looked forward. "My morning's cast revealed that we should be expecting a delegation from the Lagoon - a land without Magyk." Jezebel glanced at Fleur, before nodding in confirmation. Constance frowned, sitting in her chair. Her nose was bleeding but she didn't care. She felt horrible all of the time and it made her furious that Bernice was in better health than she was.

"Are we really just going to sit around talking all day?" another witch asked, huffing slightly. "Maybe we need to go raid the Manuscriptorium - there's bound to be something in there."

Arya Rincewind

Location: Wizard Tower - 20th Floor

Arya nodded, giving Atkin a slight smile as she got up and removed the kettle from the fireplace. She managed not to burn her hands in the process, though she wouldn't have cared much if she did - she already had a large burn scar on one hand. Why not go for a matching set? Symmetry was, supposedly, beautiful.

Downstairs, as Cuyler entered the building, the floor flashed up the following greeting to him - before it also formed an arrow pointing towards the spiral staircase that would take him to the 20th and 21st Floors, residence of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard and their apprentice.

ARE YOU PROPOSING YET,
NORTHERN TRADER???

Back upstairs, Arya then carried the kettle over to the kitchen. Her head was pounding slightly, but she was managing to push through it. The tea would contain some herbal remedies to help both Atkin and herself - though she refused to let on how ill she was. No, she was making tea the ordinary way because she wanted to. She wasn't sick at all. "I was thinking today, we might find ourselves visiting the Forest...The Physik women who live there are quite knowledge and might impart some practical wisdom to you on potions." Arya had been careful to limit Atkin's education to mostly theory ever since he had fallen ill. Actual Magyk would have to wait.

"Or if you prefer, we might go to the Manuscriptorium - Uncle Marcie's assistant has insisted they are too busy for some time now...The entire affair with Asha the Magykal still does not sit quite right with me...Perhaps he might have time to talk to us today."

Antonije Magnisky

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way - the Basement

Antonije smirked at her. While he preferred to communicate telepathically, Sylvi was the opposite. It caused for some interesting conversations, with Sylvi seemingly talking to herself and Antonije just staring at her. He refused to let go of her, holding her tightly in his arms. There was the sound of his sisters running around upstairs and he smiled slightly, glad they were running. Them falling sick was worrying him, but he had already come up with a plan.

"How did you sleep, Silvija?" he asked her. She didn't need to know about his plan. It'd be better if she didn't, as he was certain that she wouldn't approve of it by any means. Yet he wasn't going to let morals or decency stand in the way of his siblings health. Bruce had been useless so far when it came to this sort of thing. Even if he was a demi-god, it didn't mean he knew the first thing about caring for sick kids.

Princess Luna

Location: Palace - Second Bedroom, Third Corridor Off the Long Walk
Skills: N/A

After Luna had rung the bell, it did not take long at all as soon as she did that the messenger rat came out and gave it a slight smile. "Speak, Rattus, Rattus." Luna said, as she stretched a little bit, before relaying her message. "Could you find my brother Prince Myrus, and see if he is willing to meet me in the Infirmary?" Luna asked, once she had given her request Luna jumped a bit when she heard Tristan's voice as she turned around and faced him. Luna gave him a friendly smile and bowed towards him, being as friendly as possible. "Good morning Prince Tristan, did you sleep well?" Luna asked him, she also looked towards Fyor and bowed towards him as well.

"I was actually going to go down to the Infirmary to help out around there for a little bit." Luna said, before turning around and started to head down the hallway. "His friend there looks cute, with that scar of his." The Voice spoke again, Luna let out a slight sigh as she continued to ignore it. Still that weird dreaded feeling was all around her, she decided to also make her way to the Manuscriptorium after the wedding as well and do a little bit of research for any treatments. "Also are you okay with going to a wedding today?" Luna asked Tristan looking over her shoulder towards him.

Rhys Asher

Location: His home

Rhys looked about him at the adoring crowds and the lack of resistance as he approached the Wizard's Tower. He truly thought it would be harder than this, but then again- wedddings. They did have a habit of making people weak about the knees and eager for the joy in life. Rose coloured lenses over everything, and all that rubbish. If Rhys were to marry it would be for advantage, not that he was planning on getting married. The thought of that made the Rouge Wizard want to go scrub himself. Celebratory? Oh that would not suit him at all.

A shop caught his eye, as the plain man walked past. Esmeralda... Oh, she wasn't any sort of perfect. Though she was a decent hand at divination and better in the bed. Still- something, anything that might help the boy. Giving a shrug, he moved into the door, looking about at the all too familiar interior. It appeared her tastes still ran true. While their parting and tryst had been short lived and a single night ended in a string of curses- both literal and not- Rhys felt he was comfortable enough in his disguise to enter. After all, who was the better wizard here? She did paltry divinations. He ruled the roost, and strutted about to prove it. His hands in his trousers pockets, his shoulders slumped as he tried to look dejected. A plain average face. A man love lorn and lost. Wanting some hope in his future. Or so the Wizard tried to appear.

Skaoi Silverveil

Location: Infirmity

Skaoi looked over the patients as she scratched out notes in her careful penmanship, a trait honed in her youth. While she could do little to actually heal them with physik skills or her own powers, Skaoi was able to heed the lesson that was written on the pages of her notes. This disease was targeting magykal users some how. No one who did not have magyk had been infect, or rather at risk. Her frown was something of a stern grimace as she studied the figurative writing on the wall. A writing in the blood and lives of magykal users it appeared.

Tucking a blanket about Becky's shoulders, the pale woman sighed in the sad fact that magykal activity would be stopped most likely for a time. A troublesome thing, but one she saw as necessary. Burning Fever, Sleeping Death. She needed to look into it more, but how? Skaoi feared to leave her patient, to return to corpses. To return to folk trapped within their own dreams and bodies... It unnerved her. Setting about tending to the ill, she quickly jotted down the new discoveries for Becky to look over when the woman woke.

- Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Thorns & Roses

Location: Third Corridor off the Long Walk

Tristan frowned when Luna jumped. That's what he had been hoping to avoid, startling the princess. The corners of his lips pulled back up into a soft smile when she warmly returned his greetings. His brows rose a bit though at the question that followed. He supposed he shouldn't really be surprised by pleasantries, but nevertheless, it just seemed like an odd question, at least to him it did anyways. Call him old-fashioned, but he tended to just stick to the traditional 'how are you?'. "Uh, well, I suppose I could have slept better," he stammered, before glancing back over his shoulder to give Fyror a pointed look that said 'and whose fault is that?'. He quickly returned his attention to the princess, nodding his head in understanding. Visiting patients in the infirmary wasn't anything new to him. He had done it from time to time as a part of his princely duties. It looked good really, showed that the royal family cared, or so they said. He personally liked to think that he was a little more emotionally involved in it than just doing it to save face.

"It sounds like a good enough time for me to look into this Sickenesse, if the healers can spare a few minutes that is, of course. I've honestly been wanting to look into it, just haven't had a good moment to do so," he explained, taking on a bit more of a business tone and stoic demeanor. He laced his hands behind his back as he followed alongside Luna, at a respectful distance, of course. He glanced back over at her, hearing her sigh, but he didn't think too much of it. He looked at her fully when she asked him about attending a wedding. "Ah, yes, I do recall Lyra mentioning something about a wedding at Wizard Tower this evening," he exclaimed. "And, yes, I would be more than happy to join you. I can be, what do they call it, your plus one?" At his words, a lopsided grin came to his features unbidden. However, he quickly bit it back, looking almost flustered as he tried for a less obnoxious smile.

- Unknown

Location: The Queen's Room

Lyra only had to wait but a few seconds before Valda opened the door. And when the queen did so, she gave her a onceover, as if the woman could have sprouted wounds overnight. Though she supposed that really wasn't out of the realm of possibilities, considering previous events... Well, regardless, it had become a bit of a habit of the newly appointed knight. One couldn't be too careful when it came to the protection of their young charge, let alone a queen. "Morning, Your Highness," she replied warmly, giving her a slight courteous bow, before glancing around. "May I come in?"

Perhaps it seemed a bit silly for her to be asking for admittance to the Queen's Room, seeing as she was her bodyguard and all. But then again, it was the polite thing to do. Not to mention the fact that she physically couldn't enter the room without her aid anyways, due to a Magykal enchantment that only allowed those of royal blood to enter. Oh the technicalities of Magyk! She smiled warmly at Valda, glad to see that she was up, though perhaps not necessarily ready for the no doubt busy day ahead. Whatever the case, she would be there for her as always, as her protector and as her friend.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: Wizard’s Tower

Even though Thia seemed to know where Ayra was, taking off ahead of Cuyler, the floor inside the Tower was just as helpful, pointing Cuyler up the stairs as well as giving him another wonderful message. He chuckled and shook his head. The floor always seemed to have something involving their relationship to say.
”Would you like to propose for me?” He walked over the floor and headed up the stairs until he reached the 20th and 21st floors.
Thia was well ahead of him and greeted Ayra first, running around her legs and nudging her for her favourite head scratches. She barked happily as she looked between the apprentice and Ayra. She barked again so Cuyler didn’t have to wander around the 20th floor. Cuyler stepped through the door and smiled. His smile never seemed to change when he was in Ayra’s presence. It was full and genuine and he always stared at Ayra for a little longer than strictly necessary, only because he liked the blush it would bring to her face.
He slipped the bag off his shoulder before he walked further into the room. He looked at Atkin and gave him a polite smile before refocusing on Ayra.
”How are you today?” The way Cuyler asked, implied a little more knowledge into her condition then Ayra had been letting on. He came to sit beside Ayra and leaned into kiss her cheek, although he desired to do more, he kept in mind that they weren’t alone. He set his bag on the floor before resting his free hand on Ayra’s leg.

Amarantha

Location: The Palace

The Palace halls had become a second home to Amarantha, as she walked them often. They had become a safe space to her, like an old friend as she passed pictures that had become familiar and window views she never thought she would see. She passed a few Palace Guard on duty and she gave them a simple nod when they stopped at attention for their general to pass before resuming their duties. In a few hours, there would be more of the Palace Guard and the Young Army patrolling these halls and within the Castle walls. Even though everyone else seemed to be in a blissful daze, it didn’t mean the Palace General would let her people relax.
She slowed as she approached the Long Walk, having not come across Luna yet, she assumed they would just be leaving now. Voices filtered into her ears and she recognized Luna’s immediately. Amarantha stepped to the side of the hall and waited for her and the Prince to come into view. They were speaking of the wedding and Amarantha heard Prince Tristan’s comment on being Luna’s plus one. She rolled her eyes briefly before they came into her view. She stepped forward before bowing elegantly to her charge.
”Your Highness,” she addressed specifically before looking to Prince Tristan and gave him a polite bow as well. ”Continue on, pretend I’m not here.” She looked at Prince Tristan pointedly though, just to make sure he remained on his toes around her. Her eyes traveled further to notice that the prince’s personal guard was in tow as well. Excellent. She moved back out of the couples way so they could continue on their walk before she fell in behind them. Amarantha gave a respectful distance to give them some privacy but remained close enough for her to move in quickly if it was warranted.
