Hi this is a simple idea i had its a list basically for nominees for a shortlist for Unconventional RPs.

If you'd like to nominate someone for the list please include a link and a short description of what you enjoyed about playing the game and if you want a list of the memes or inside jokes that the game created.

2018 is coming to a close pretty soon so its as good a time as any to aggregate nominees for the entire year of 2018. Maybe by the end of 2018 we shall give out awards in the form of some kind of image to use in your signature?

You didn't include any particular qualifications for what defines an "unusual" RP. But to that effect:

Precipice of War

Set in the framework of a world without WW2, where the first world war dragged on out of lack of involvement of the US and an earlier departure of Russia in response to the simmering anti-war tendencies, Precipice finds itself in a world with a weakened Europe. With the major European powers sidelined, much of the world broils unsettlingly as the colonial order breaks down and not into the sixties, the old balance is threatened with Revolution and intrigue. Now more so, with the violent death of the Russian czar and the breakdown of central authority in Russia, creating a massive region of international tension and turmoil.

On first glance, a nomination of this RP into an awards for unconventional RPs may seem strange. After all: what is so strange about a nation RP that functions as all other nation RPs? The primary condition to this end is its focus. Precipice, a long running institution in its own right; having spanned three forums and many years has a focus not just in the national politics, but the smaller individual stories within its own landscape, serving also as any general individually-focused RP. With stories ranging from detective noir in LA, the Ethiopian priesthood, pilots trying to escape from behind enemy lines, international motorcycle tours, Russian monasticism, and the musings and daily life of an independent animator afflicted by the traumas of war and national turmoil of his child hood. Precipice doesn't settle itself for replicating the ins and outs of political court drama, utilizing statistical measures but actively delves into the interpersonal drama. War is not two generals clashing, but the experience of the private in the trenches. Diplomacy and politics isn't the mass movement of entire government departments but the interpersonal relationships of the men and women involved, from the hallowed halls of Chinese Revolution to the aged palatial corridors and royal mountains of Ethiopian monarchy.

In all seriousness I do respect the shit the Precipricks have created. I don't usually read through RP's I'm not in, but Precipice of War is one I'll usually look at when there's a new IC post.
