"Jeez, who died?"

Alena stands at 6"1', weighing about 150 lbs. Asian-American, she has natural black blunt bangs, though chooses to dye them purple. Her eyes are a reddish orange, caused by spiritual mutation. Her frame is thin and small, and her skin is pale, giving the telltale sign that she's a shut-in.
Alena almost never dresses to impress. Most of her shirts are two-sizes too big, which she buries even more underneath a sweatshirt, which she decorates with charm pins. Usually she prefers to wear either a skirt or shorts, which her shirt usually drapes over anyway. On her legs she wears a sneakers, plus a single thigh-high on one leg. She also wears glasses and has several little talismans such as a hairclip, headband, or necklace, which provide little bonuses to her magic.

"Well this sure isn't Kansas anymore."

It wouldn't be an insult to say Alena has the mannerisms of a cat. She's extremely unexpressive, and maintains the same monotone and tired voice in almost any situation. She's poor at communication, and spends almost all her time by herself. She's almost perpetually deprived of energy, wearing the same clothes for days on end and hardly making exceptions to social gatherings. She also has insomnia, which only worsens her already sour demeanor.
On the other hand, she's incredibly focused. She's dedicated to her work, and while not happily, she'll certainly try to provide any information or assistance to a task, so long as it doesn't imperil her and actually demands attention.

"It all started when my mom tried to summon a demon in College. Well, 'tried' isn't quite the right word... Come to think of it neither is demon."

When Alena's mother was in College, she joined a sorority, where part of the initiation ritual was to try and summon a demon. At first, She thought it was just a dumb prank or symbolic ritual. How wrong she was. The ritual worked. It summoned forth a Spirit, which she had to make a bargain with in order to complete her initiation. The spirit offered the bargain of "Five Dollips of Silver, in exchange for the Fate of your firstspawn." Terrified and wanting to get the ritual over with, Alena's mother accepted quickly, receiving five a vial of liquid silver, though whatever price she had to pay would not come until long after.
The consequence of the bargain made Alena a Shaman, a human with spiritual abilities, by prospect of birth. She only became aware of her own abilities after she kicked a can, causing it to skyrocket and dent a stop sign. For the first few months she knew of her abilities, she only used it for petty crimes, such as robbing snacks from convenience stores or cheating. It's only after Jeffrey Harold, a local Shaman, caught her did she begin to learn the truth of the Spirit World as well as train her own abilities. He also took Alena as her apprentice, helping him protect their town from rogue Spirits, along with few other Shaman.
By the age of 19, she's become a sort of mission control figure, collecting and keeping tabs on information while trading with other occultists. That is, until she was plucked away by Praxis as a champion to balance the multiverse.

The stress of the harsh snow has significantly advanced Roland’s aging, reflected on his wrinkled skin. His hair is grayed as well though this blends well with the snow camouflage coat he wears out on hunts. Fur and leather make up all of his clothing, in order to protect him from the elements. Lastly, his left eye has been gouged out and replaced with an experimental mechanical eye courtesy of the scientists at Oxbridge.

"I’m what you call an optimistic pessimist. Expecting for the worst and praying for the best."

Planning and preparing for every conceivable scenario is The Scavenger Wolf’s specialty, often staying quiet and lost in his thoughts aside from the occasional self-muttering. Roland’s loyalty is to himself first and as such he has a hard time with authority that has a different view than him. Though, he rarely confronts them directly. As well, empathy may not be his strongest suite yet he strives to do the most pragmatic choice when possible. He is also quite cynical, due to traveling most of the known landscape of his world and only finding strife. Underneath all that, Roland is sincerely hopeful and tries to believe in the good of others.

When all else fails, he will be the first one out of the emergency exit.

"Your guess is as good as mine.”

Born from the snow with nothing to his name, Roland was an orphaned lad who grew up in the settlement of Old-Sussex-by-the-Sea. To earn his keep, he was a hunter’s apprentice who braved the cold in order to hunt snow hares at first. As he grew older, the game he hunted also changed. For you see, the land he lived on was soon subjugated by the warrior-king known only by the title of Sea Falkyir and forcefully conscripted all men of fighting age. Those who refused soon found themselves struck down from where they stood.

His exploits in the Falkyir’s army would be where he would receive his new name: The Scavenger Wolf. It is not one only of honor as most would expect but rather of Roland’s practical use for the army. His expertise in foraging and animal trapping would prove lifesaving in the scarce wasteland during long campaigns, usually doing the job of five hunters at a time.

Though, this wouldn’t last long as a defeat and route at a battle in the frozen marshlands of Flanders would break the expeditionary legion of the Sea Falkyir, dispersing most of the survivors. The Wolf wouldn’t be as lucky as he would be captured by his enemies. Luckily, the S.F.I. Federation grants clemency to useful soldiers willing to swear vows of loyalties. To prove such loyalty, they required a sacrifice from their new recruits. Of course they didn’t really have much of a choice in the matter as death was the alternative.

Finding himself once again conscripted by a new army, Roland was now assigned to a unit that was contracted to defend the Oxbridge Campus from raiders and roving wild animals. The post was comfortable all things considered until one night the central Coal Core started to overheat and required emergency cooling. Charging in with a group of engineers with the suspicions of sabotage, Roland would find himself at the center of an explosive blast from a core meltdown.

Except he didn’t die, or so he’s told. He now finds himself at the Initiative, still confused at the matter but isn’t in any rush to go back to his world any time soon.

Repeater Rifle – The fastest reloading rifle model in the known Entropyverse. Requires only an average of five seconds between every shot!

Bowie Knife – A rather large knife that is used to skin fur from animals.

Ice Pick, Rope and Chisel – A set of tools that is mandatory for anyone willing to travel outside the walls of settlements.

Hunter’s Snow Coat – A coat that blends well in arctic environments, adorned with leather and fur. Snow goggles are also attached to the hood of the coat.

Maintenance Kit – A small satchel bags filled with lubricating rifle cleaners and whetstones.

Frost Familiarity – While he would rather not be out in the cold, Roland is somewhat of an expert in surviving freezing conditions.

Reluctant to Fight – Each time he’s had to pick up his weapon, it’s always been to fight for survival. If given the choice, he would rather avoid violence.

Me First! – A lifetime of looking out for himself doesn’t simply disappear. This may mean putting his needs and safety before others.

"Well, technically it's Eodyth, Goddess of Honour, War, and Death, Guardian of the Miklagardian People, and Queen of the Glorious Souls. But yes, feel free to call me Eodyth."

Standing at 6', in golden armour, with a crown on her head, a cape flowing behind her, and a longsword gleaming in her hand, Eodyth immediately stands out in any crowd. Her hair is long and blonde, her build is powerful, and her eyes are the brightest shade of blue. She stands and moves with purpose, the kind that's dangerous to get in the way of, especially without good reason. Her appearance perfectly mixes regal power with regal beauty.

"I'm short-tempered, competitive, and narcissistic? That's some tough talk for someone in stabbing range."

Eodyth can be difficult to get along with. Despite her good sense of humour (heavily including sarcasm, which is said to have been invented in Miklagard), her shortcomings are mostly the results of her position. She is used to being worshiped in Miklagard, and cannot understand why others do not do the same. This narcissism results from naivety, but this does not make it easier for others to cope with. Additionally, her role as a deity of war encourages impulsive and forceful action, as well as a hatred of losing. Regardless, Eodyth means well, and those that are willing to look past her unpleasant outer characteristics will find an honest and loyal friend.

"...and he needed his hammer back, so my brother dressed up as me, while I pretended to accept the marriage proposal. Then my brother showed up in my wedding dress and killed everyone."

Eodyth is the fourth child of the king and queen of Miklagard, Jorden the Sea-God and Hima the Sky-Goddess. She was born about 1000 years before the Convergence, and thus before Miklagard was ruined by Chaos. She inherited a portion of her parents' godly power, and as soon as she was able she was fighting barbarians and rebels across the globe. She became a goddess of death, yes, but a goddess of honourable death in battle, not of vile, cowardly murder. She was named Queen of the Glorious Souls, a unit of those killed fighting honourably close to her, who agreed to serve her after death as ghosts on the battlefield.

Most of Eodyth's life consisted of this; fighting, winning, drinking, and celebrating. Defeats were rare and rapidly avenged, and even those killed in the battles would rejoice at the chance to join the Glorious Souls and continue fighting for eternity. Until the Convergence, when Chaos destroyed Miklagard and its people fled. Eodyth had no home to guard any longer, so instead she protected its people. As the fleet journeyed through space, she was paramount to its defense. This role has been one Eodyth has embraced ever since, though now the fleet has disbanded, she remains a champion for the Miklgardian people wherever they might face danger.

"What kind of idiot brings a knife to a gunfight? The sword is obviously a superior choice."

Divine Warrior
Eodyth is very strong, dexterous and resilient. A spear thrust from at full power can pierce bulletproof armour, and she can lift a human being one-handed. She's fast enough that she can dodge bullets, but slow enough that this will not work most of the time; maybe 1 in 10 attempts. Her skin won't be pierced by anything short of a gunshot, but any significant blow will still bludgeon her insides.

Queen of the Glorious Souls
Eodyth can call in spirit warriors to help her in battle. No more than four may be summoned at any time. Currently these can only be Miklagardian warriors: standard soldiers equipped with light armour, an axe, and a shield. However, whenever someone dies within 100 feet of Eodyth, they enter a dreamlike vision in which they see her offer them "a second chance at life" (those who were hostile to her are also offered "a chance at redemption"). Those that accept are added to those spirits that may be summoned. They are fully corporeal, though translucent, with a white-gold glow. If they die a second time, they go on to their afterlife, and may no longer be summoned (the Glorious Souls include thousands of Miklagardian warriors from history, so these will never be depleted). Additionally, it will be several hours before that spirit can be replaced by another - the death of spirit locks out the slot another would take for that time.

Dusk Warrior
The sunset is considered a holy time for Eodyth, having its roots in the since-disproved belief that the sun dies each night and is reborn each morning. As such, Eodyth and all her spirits are empowered as long as the sun is partially below the horizon (neither completely below nor completely above).

Irasjon and Neskin
Irasjon is Eodyth's spear. It bears a white banner which acts as a symbol of hope, and is enchanted to boost this. Eodyth's allies, not including herself, within a short range of her are inspired to fight harder. They become completely fearless, makes them hit harder and faster, as well as helping them suppress pain and fight through injuries. Neskin is Eodyth's sword. It can wound both physical and incorporeal creatures. It is also supernaturally sharp, and glows faintly when in moonlight. Both artefacts are almost indestructible, at least through mundane methods. Powerful magic, alchemy, or other extraordinary phenomena might word.

Shattersword
Shattersword is Eodyth's suit of armour. Though not actually magical, it is extraordinarily well-crafted, being the most durable and effective form of protection - without advanced technology or magic - that exists. It is also quite light. It appears golden, and on the surface it actually is, making Eodyth very easy to spot even on a huge battlefield. Underneath the layer of gold is steel, though, and not just any steel. It does not include a helmet, to assist in recognising Eodyth on the battlefield, but the crown is made in the same way and is just as effective, though it protects a considerably smaller area.

"Weakness? No, it's a self-imposed handicap. Can you imagine if I did use guns? There's no fun in winning a fight before it starts."

By far Eodyth's greatest weakness is her honour. She refuses to fight in dishonourable ways, including using stealth, poison, spells, or even fighting at a distance. She also will not use advanced technology in combat (and for her, a musket is advanced) - though out of combat, such as for travel, is fine. She does not mind her allies using these tactics, though she will discourage it, and if they do so often, possibly even resent them over it.

Resulting from this, Eodyth is at a huge disadvantage against enemies without the same compulsions. While she is certainly powerful, it takes a lot for spear and sword to win against guns and ballistic weave.
