She has sometime tanned skin, and freckles which dot her body. She carries herself with grace: her head high, shoulders back, with a ladylike gait. She has a large variety scars and burns on her body. Her hands, particularly, are covered in light burn scarring, and her favorite and most noticeable scar in her collection is a huge jagged line that runs across her shoulder blades. Kayla is an attractive woman. She has a somewhat angular face, long and narrowing down to her chin. Her eyes are vaguely almond-shaped and are a greyish blue color like her brother. Her teeth are straight and white, but a few are artificial from her candy eating habits as child. Her hair, as well as her eyebrows, is a dark brown, and is quite long, coming down to the middle of her back when let down. She generally keeps her hair in a neat braid down her back or over her shoulder. As far as attire goes, Kayla is pretty easy. Her closet primarily comprises of leggings or jeans, sports bras, athletic material like Under Armor or Nike. She likes to wear a maroon jacket most of the time, claiming that the extra pockets give her extra storage and give her a little extra protection from the many things she's dealt with that try to hurt her. She always wears a pair of black combat boots. Most of her clothes are whites, blacks, and reds. She doesn’t wear any jewelry aside from two wedding rings- a simple gold band on her right hand and a silver diamond ring on her left. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: Making the trip from being a child to being an adult is oftentimes marked by a series of milestones throughout one's life. Kayla has lacked many, and is somewhat emotionally stunted as a result. While far from not functioning in society, Kayla's lack of respect for the world and people around her makes her destructive and disrespectful. Kayla was raised well, initially. In 2009, Arnold and Elizabeth Foster were murdered on their way home one night by some remnant of work left undone in the past. And instead of simply pursuing vengeance in the name of his daughter and her husband, her uncle, Milo Crane took things a step further. When Kyle and Kayla were fifteen years old he brought them into his home. He introduced them to the supernatural world, and made it clear to them that there was no going back now. Kayla’s nature was revealed to her, but she was too young and far from driven enough to have gained much practice. Kayla's story itself is not about vengeance, though. Her story will be more about coming to terms with what she lost so long ago, and making sure that it doesn't happen again. Bettering herself both as a magic user and as a person as she grows. |
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
Kayla is a trouble making, loud, and easily distracted young woman. Since birth Kayla has had an affinity for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.
Kayla is sarcastic and treats most things like a joke (whether appropriate or not) and maintains a fairly calm demeanor even in stressful situations, ranging to mildly annoyed as her worst most of the time. She's just not one to freak out. Kayla likes to hear herself talk, and if no one is around, she often takes to talking to herself. Kayla is a textbook extrovert and makes fast friends wherever she goes. She tries to keep to herself mostly on personal matters, but somewhat hypocritically she tends to ask about others due to the insatiable curiosity she was born with.
In short, Kayla is brash and leaves a wake wherever she goes. She causes trouble for herself and others with little regard for the long term effects her actions might have. As this setting progresses, Kayla will get a grip on the consequences of her actions and come to the realization that she has a responsibility to do what is right regardless of whether it is the easy or fun choice, and that she can still be responsible while still having high energy and enjoyment of what she does. Kayla will start this story close to a teenager or child, and she will end it as an adult.

Oleander was her Uncle Milo's pet Siberian husky, who is far older than one would believe. Oleander is by no means an ordinary dog, other than in his appearance. He possesses a human level of intelligence, and is extremely well trained- making him a force to be reckoned with when he joins them on much of her excursions into the supernatural world.
The two conduits she carries are the two wedding bands that once belonged to her late mother and father.

Nothing about her particularly stands out among the number of teenagers attending Mather Memorial. While she owns nicer and more expensive clothes she typically opts for a pair of jeans matched with a t-shit or hoodie depending on the season. The most attention Marie draws to herself is the occasional deadpan comment in class; showing just enough backbone not to be made the butt of the more popular kid's jokes or pranks. To most people, Marie is little more than another piece of the school's backdrop, which, being the middle-semester transfer with a felon father, suits her fine. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: I want to play Marie as a character who hasn't been much more than a bystander in her own life. She's had wealth, but that came from her father with many strings attached, even her reputation at her former school was dictated by that which her brothers left behind from their time there. Then she suddenly finds herself in Crestwood Hollow with the chance for a fresh start that she has no idea what to do with. I want the discovery of her magic to be in tandem with her discovering the kind of person she really is, rather than whatever her family always dictated she be or do. Prior to coming into her magic, I want Marie to explore the Hollow as a sort of thrill-seeker. She feels something off with the town, and highly suspects that it is haunted, though she'd never admit to believing in the paranormal. Her main focus will be the school itself, being one of the oldest buildings in the town and having a tumultuous history behind it to boot. |
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
Marie has been living in Crestwood Hollow for just over half a year with her 28 year old brother. She hasn't put forth any effort to make new friends, and finds the entire town too eerie to feel 'settled in'. Prior to moving to New Hampshire, the Brunswick's were a wealthy Wall-Street-working family in New York. Right until the patriarch of the family was arrested for insider trading and stock-broker fraud in 2015. It took two years for his sentence to be finalized and for everyone to realize it was a bit more than a 'temporary setback'. Marie's stepmother was gone as soon as her father's money had run dry from lawyer's fees and court fines, which left her to live with her brother, David. Their move the Crestwood was his idea, and the first step in his plan to move away from the stocks towards real-estate development. Since moving, he has been trying to persuade the local government to build a 'vacation complex'- mostly a boardwalk along the beach, south of the harbor, to be lined with vacation condos, over-priced restaurants as well as a super-mall in the south-side.

"I licked it so it’s mine."P L A C E H O L D E R  Rosalyn Harper Osborne ______________________________________________________ August 2nd, 2002 | 17 | Caucasian ______________________________________________________ Bisexual | ♀ | Single ______________________________________________________ Junior | Unbonded | Red Fox - Unknown | D E T A I L E D A P P E A R A N C E: Rosalyn’s most distinctive feature would be the strawberry-blonde, teetering on the edge of ginger, locks that spill over her thin shoulders. Her hair’s unique color is the only reason it has remained unaltered, unlike so many of her other features. Why would she stop strangers from swooning over it’s distinctiveness? Not unexpectedly, her eyes are a light wash of green and blue. Alabaster hued skin coincides with Rosalyn’s personality - devoid of any warmth, though she often dyes her skin with expensive cosmetics. Freckles pepper the entirety of her body and are dusted more densely atop her shoulders and the high points of her face. Her petite nose was hand-crafted, though it hardly matters with how often she turns it up to others, and her lips seem to never be bare. Dressing up is not a game, nor is it preserved for special occasions within the realm of Rosalyn, it is her lifestyle. Appearances have always been held highly by the Osborne’s and this comes as no challenge for the young woman. Her nails are neatly filed, stockings are without snags, and she would not be caught dead with a backpack on her shoulders. Her mornings begin earlier than most to maintain her facade. Those her stature itself is fairly dainty, a few inches of leather and glue beneath her heel allow her to stand at average height. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: On paper, Mather Memorial’s Rosalyn Osborne is written as the stereotypical high school mean girl. Her unrelenting bitterness and ferocity leave her capable of fulfilling the role quite well. Rosalyn is also the type to indulge herself when she wants. She can be quite selfish with no regards of how her actions may affect others. She is prone to jealousy, even when dealing with platonic relationships, and isn’t someone who’s used to sharing what she deems as hers. She is deeply flawed and may seem to be entirely incapable of serving as a teamplayer, but there is an underlying desperation she has to be seen as necessary and wanted those around her. Crowning herself Queen Bee seemed to be the easiest way to achieve this, but manipulating others to interact with her for the sake of social status has, not surprisingly, failed to fill that void. She is hunting for the chance to prove herself as more than the Osborne name while she is still in Crestwood. Discovering she is a Hexenbrut has the ability to push Rosalyn further into an innate craving for the power that seems to be owed to her blood, or she could utilize this opportunity to better her sour attitude and offer a genuine loyalty to someone other than herself. |

Involved largely in the cleaner side of Crestwood Hallow’s agriculture endeavors, money runs deep and far through the Osborne bloodline, leaving it tainted and greedy.

She had become a project to her mother and the household left little air for anyone to breathe.
A motor vehicle accident yanked the entire seam of the Osborne family, however. Though not fatal, the accident left Mrs. Osborne with a traumatic brain injury that resulted in her requiring nearly total care. Hiring a home health nurse for the woman was easy, but the moral corruption within the family that came as the years progressed seemed to fall especially heavy on Rosalyn. Some of her old friends use to joke that you could blow her over if you blew hard enough. She stands at five foot and seven inches, something her mother said came from her father’s side. Her auburn hair has a habit of crimping up into tight curls that go all over the place. Because of this, she often ties it into a messy ponytail in back. On her ears are easily seen hearing aids. Recently she soft purple highlights in her hair to livening it up. She observes the world through forest green eyes. They go surprisingly well with her sand beige skin color which can some times burn under the sun. When it comes to her clothes, Emily’s imagination and practicality mix together. She rarely wears the same outfit within the same week, but she does have some favorites. one consists of form-fitting capris with a white, round neck blouse and split sleeves. Tennis shoes decorated with sharpie graffiti on the toe and heel. It gives it the right amount of uniqueness in her mind. On a simple glance, her outfits can appear to be of high quality. With a closer look, they are obvious thrift store copycats with her own personal touch added to it. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: I’ve never played a deaf character so I wanted to try something new. I can’t say for sure how well I’ll do, but I will do my best to be respectfully portraying it. I wanted to write Emily’s journey as someone overcoming a difficult time in her life. At this point, she feels is both guilty and blameless for the accident. I want to see her go from her current guilt and depressed state into a woman that will meet the challenges and overcome them in her own way. Above everything, I want to show that her deafness doesn’t define her, but is merely a reason to be stronger. Along the way, I want her to make friends. Ones that both understand her and show her that she isn’t helpless as she thinks she is. |

Last year, Emily was a happy, carefree teenager. Life tossed her a curveball. While she was coming back from a late-night party drunk, the driver hydroplaned. He crashed into a nearby lake. It killed two of the passengers, but Emily and one of her older brothers’ friends survived. Out of the four victims, she only suffered hearing loss. For the past half a year, she has been living with the survivor's guilt, grief and adjusting to being deaf.
After the accident, Emily’s condition left the family with a ton of medical bills. Though they attempted to stick it out, eventually her father felt it was best they moved. He had received a better job offer in New Hampshire forcing them to leave good ol’ Michigan. By the time of their arrival, they were down to a family of three. That was about six months ago.
She is considered an intelligent, resourceful and observant individual. Even with the inability to hear she has the desire to be rather social when given the chance. It’s evident by her wild hand gestures in her signing, her animated expressions, and body language. Her parents say sometimes it feels like her emotions are nearly infectious.
Since the accident, Emily has felt there’s a wall between her and the world. One created by her deafness. Communicating with those who don’t understand Sign Language or the value of lip-reading has been her biggest challenge. To combat it, she has tried to read lips and bring a notebook with her whenever her aid isn’t around. People that don’t face her during conversations frustrate her since she can’t read their lips. While it might not be perfect, she can at least get a basic meaning.
During summer break, her family received a letter from Mather Memorial. For her parents, the school had a reputation for leaving no student behind. It would enhance her education and recover the ground she lost recently. Emily saw this as a new start. She could only pray she could make it past the first day without wanting to hang herself.

The design indicates a male senior ring and holds special meaning to her. It has the words Tysonville Hawks engraved around the gem. On the sides are Charles and the year 2016. It holds heavy sentiment to her since she is never seen without it close by.

M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: You ever wanted to play the character who's the smartest in the room? Well, that's not Adam. He's not book-smart, he's barely street smart. The guy's got very little going for him except grit. Due to his hobbies and background, I think he's gonna be a lot of fun of having his perceived, and faked identity clash with what he learns about his true heritage from Crestwood. When the one field of expertise he's cultivated over the years turns out to be completely wrong, perhaps he's gonna get presented with a choice. Adapt or die. |

The Talon is one of the first conduits ever made out of platinum in a age when the world thought platinum was just impurities in gold.
Corvah The Immortal: Corvah's a small European Crow from Italy, Florence to be exact. His species have been the chosen corporeal form of the familiars of the Kaynes line for centuries. The moniker 'The immortal' is born from the fact that all of the Kaynes familiars look the same and share the same name. Corvah's actually the 214th Corvah, but that's too many 'Juniors' too put behind a name. Corvah actually become a Magni familiar in 1951, when Adam's father, Maximilian was born. Maximilian died shortly after Adam's birth when he was murdered by a Hellion, and with his dying might he cast a spell on Corvah so that the crow would not perish too - or worse, lose his spirit and become feral, a monster himself. Corvah was bonded to Adam when Adam was born, but the crow didn't survive his original partner's passing without scars. The familiar's not much of a guardian angel, but instead chaos and destruction has followed Adam his entire life, starting with the death of his mother when he was an infant. Corvah's life is a taboo in the Magni community and if a more experienced Magni would learn the truth, both Adam and Corvah's lives would be in danger.

She considers herself average in all ways: brown hair, brown eyes, the only thing that stands out in this new england backdrop is her tanned complexion. Her chestnut locks are parted straight down the middle and hang in long, loose, wavy curls that go just past her shoulder blades in the back. These curls are kept tamed with some mousse and a smoothing serum applied after she showers, which smells vaguely fruity. She wears no make up and, aside from her necklace, no jewelry. Her ears are not even pierced, though she is considering doing so soon. The only traditional feminine beauty routine that she subscribes to is getting her eyebrows waxed, because without this weekly maintenance, they would become one unsightly unibrow. All it took was a lot of middle school aged harassment for her to ask her parents to start doing this. As for fashion, Demeter dresses more for comfort and practicality than anything else. She likes sweaters and leggings and even wears dresses if they are flowy and easy to move around in. You won’t really catch her in jeans or other tight fitting clothing, as she finds them too uncomfortable. Demi has no notable scarring, tattoos, or birthmarks — she is just your average, quiet, high school nerd. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: I am interested in playing Demeter to see how much she can grow. She was adopted by a mundie family as an infant, so she has no idea that magic is real or that she can possess it. When the study group forms, this entire world is going to be new to her. It is going to scare her and challenge her, but in the end, she will be excited for it all. She grew up reading fantasy and playing role playing games and now suddenly, she will become like the protagonists that she has read about and played. I hope that this paranormal experience gives Demi the confidence that she needs to stop being a wallflower — to see her worth and that she is anything but average. But of course, the real treasure will be the friends she makes along the way. |
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
Demeter Woods was born as Angelina Rivera in northern Mexico. Her hexenbrut mother, or bruja as they are called there, fled across the border escaping from a magical predicament that she had gotten over her head in. Unfortunately for her, she could not outrun her demons, but she died with the peace of knowing that she had at least gotten her daughter to a safer place. Demeter doesn’t know this though, nor do her parents. All that she knows is that she was adopted by the Woods’ from an orphanage in Texas with nothing to identify her except for a piece of paper with her name written on it and a set of silver rings welded together in a trinity. Her adoptive parents, the Woods’, are just as nerdy as Demeter herself — so the proverbial apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Nigel Woods, her father, works as an ancient history and mythology professor at the nearby university, with a special focus on Greek mythology — hence the names of his three adopted daughters: Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. Meredith Woods, her mother, works as a high school physics teacher. Demi grew up knowing the importance of knowledge in a home where they not only had family game nights, but they had weekly family dungeons and dragons night, with her dad as the dungeon master. Hestia always played pretty elves, Hera always played some kind of melee brute, and Demeter loved the casters — particularly druids. To this day, when faced with picking a class choice, Demi will gravitate towards natural magic and healing focuses. Her love of this fantasy lore is reflected in her real life, where she is an avid botanist and aspiring doctor. Demi’s room is full of plants, looking more like a lush conservatory than the bedroom of a high school girl — not a single boy band poster in sight. Demeter cares a lot about her studies and maintains straight A’s with the hopes of going to medical school to become a doctor. During the summer, Demi hopes to snag an internship or volunteer at a hospital to gain some medical experience. When Demi doesn’t have her nose buried in schoolbooks, she spends her time reading fantasy and sci fi novels or playing tabletop games, video games, and the flute for the school band.
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
Demi is but an infant in the magical world, she has no idea that it is real or that she is part of it — all of this will be experienced for the first time in character. Her witch bloodline, although unknown, is established in the world of mexican brujería where magic is heavily dependent on forces of nature and the spontaneity of the spirits. Demeter’s birth mother dabbled in dark magic and paid the ultimate price for doing so, an unfortunate outcome that is regrettably common in Demeter’s ancestry. For whatever reason, their blood is drawn to the dark arts. Demi’s mother left her with a silver conduit that is a family heirloom that Demi keeps hung on a cord around her neck to this day. Demeter doesn’t know the power of the object, she simply holds it close because it is the only thing she has from her birth family. As for Demi’s familiar, that is currently also unknown to her. When her familiar, a white short haired cat, came into being… it was far closer to Mexico than it was to Demi’s current home in the northeast of the US. All is well though, for Demeter is not ready for her familiar yet. The cat will arrive at the perfect time and the perfect place, as is designed by fate. It will come as no surprise to Demi that her familiar is a cat, as she’s always been drawn to them, but her dad’s allergic so she could never get one as a pet.

It takes a moment but as their gaze falls they are able to take in the boyish, almost cherubic facial structure that has started strengthening and hardening as the machinations of puberty work to phase the boy into a man. Other than the bones shifting, the boy seemed to have won the genetic lottery as his straight nose, ears, and mouth all seemed perfectly proportioned to his facial structure. Soft ash-brown hair, lighter in some places but darker in others could be seen occasionally dipping into hs eyes, but was normally well styled and parted to the left. The Sophmore stood at six foot two, having grown quite a bit in the recent summer and on his last doctor's visit weighed in at 163 pounds. He lacked the broad shoulders and bulk of other boys but was well-toned and wiry showing that he was quite active, and while it was barely evident there was a contrast to the width of his shoulders and waist as most competitive swimmers tended to have. Having just spent a summer outside his usual creamy skin was bronzed over and gave the boy a healthy honey tone. And while all of this would pass through an observer rather quickly, they would also notice that the boy seemed to not even notice that he had such looks. His head was always down, looking away and rarely smiled, only giving sideways or half smirks, and only then when he decided it was required. This was usually joined in with his eyes darting to a random location as if he had trouble keeping eye contact with anyone. He had a simple style when it came to clothing, opting for a layered system where he would wear a single-colored t-shirt underneath a contrasting single-colored collared shirt. Most of the time the color scheme alternated blues and browns but every color of the rainbow could be swapped in whenever Myles wanted. Overtop of this simple outfit would be a New England Patriots hoodie and finishing the picture nine times out of ten were blue jeans of varying styles. Earphones were also constantly around Myle's neck as the music was a true sanctuary for the high-schooler. While not even able to grow more than wisps upon his lip, Myles also keeps his arms and legs shaved as many other swimmers do. This has led to some bullying but most people tend to ignore him, and just whisper. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: Myles is a combination of two of my all-time favorite original characters. He's a lovely mixture of winning the lottery when it comes to DNA and genetics while losing the lottery when it comes to a familial support system. He's heavily flawed, barely going through life's punches and just trying to make it out alive. This leads itself to some great writing moments, and good storytelling points. Overall, I wish to just, like Myles, enjoy the ride. Myles, on the other hand, is looking for a way out, a moment that will shoot him in the direction he can live with, and something better than what he has/had. He has dreams of being an Olympic swimmer or diver, but also just wants to make it through High School first. Magic will surely change him, as he will see it as a powerful gift. He will likely throw himself into research, and push the envelope of his powers. To him, it will be the push he has been looking for. |

His father and mother were killed in a community traumatic car accident, and Myles was born right after in an emergency c-section operation. Instead of the upper-class lifestyle, Myles was entered into the foster system and has known nothing but a nomadic lifestyle.
A quiet child, Myles was mostly left alone to read or just think. He was shy, not making friends very easily as he had found it useless considering he could be moved at a moment's notice. At first, he hoped to be adopted by some family that would be enraptured by his boyish charm and looks but it wasn't to be. Instead, he continued the living roulette and slowly became more and more separate to the world around him, disappearing into music and swimming.
He's slowly coming to terms with the fact that he will have to start thinking of a future, instead of just surfing the many punches life throws but the idea terrifies him as he has no clue what he wants to do. While the Eastern wolf has left the New Hampshire area, it isn't crazy to see them come across the river from the Canadian side. In addition, the wolf, which seems to exhibit human characteristics keeps to coyotes which help him blend in should anyone see him. It helps that the wolf species is considered endangered within New Hampshire.

A stern expression seems to always be present, masking any underlying emotions that he may have. A small, yet consistent habit of clenching his teeth bring attention to his chiseled jawline that frame his otherwise soft features. Felix's blue eyes display vividly between dark eyelashes, often being depicted first when facing most people. Felix's style typically consists of his varsity-letter football jacket, but as of late, he sports more casual clothes. It was instilled within Felix to become better than his best at everything, which would imply a more promising future, but it instead conjured a mix of detrimental qualities that he struggles with to date. It became a hard battle, trying to win the affection of his parents, combined with their lack of recognition from his achievements, no matter how sizeable they were. Without consolation, nor succor, from them, Felix began to deal with a lot of emotions beneath the thick surface of his iron skin. Self-hatred, depression, anger—all tangled among the dark thoughts that infested his mind, clad with a robotic determination, striving to be better than who he was yesterday. Though seemingly contradicting, it became an unending war within himself.
In the recent year, Felix began a sudden decline in terms of his mental health, though he masks it with his signature short-tempered and frustrated attitude. He doesn’t have the muscle mass of a football player, but neither can he be considered particularly “skinny”; he’s well filled out with well-defined upper body muscles (though you wouldn’t know it at first glance), for which he has his fondness for practical hands-on hobbies to thank. His complexion can be described as dark, and he keeps his face clean shaven. In stark contrast to this, Kwesi’s hairstyle can be described as rather loose and perhaps even “scruffy” or a “mop top”. You can call it what you like, but he’s happy wearing it this way and that’s all that matters. His brown eyes are often easy to miss, as they don’t particularly stand out from the rest of his features, but if you were to look there you would find they are always curious and attentive, taking note of everything around him and trying to suss it all out. Known to stuff his hands into his pockets by default, Kwesi’s demeanor is often considered “nervous” by strangers, as he can be somewhat jittery and a bit shy when first meeting a new face. Don’t mistake his nerves for unkindness, however, he will always greet his fellows with a smile on his face and a polite dip of his head and/or wave. But it will take some time and interactions before he will feel comfortable enough around anyone to really open up enough to start joking around, or indeed to talk about his past or his family. He doesn’t speak of what happened to his mother, though he misses her dearly every day, Kwesi is determined to move on with his life and make it as good as he possibly can, because he knows it’s what she would want him to do. Kwesi prefers the “simple and comfortable” dress style, often found in jeans or cargo pants and sneakers, with a vibrantly colourful t-shirt, sometimes completely plain and sometimes with a geometric-style print somewhere on it; he shies away from clothing which belongs to a specific “brand” and instead prefers to wear something that is simply enough to be eye-catching. Zip-up hoodies are his jacket of choice, the comfier the better. He is never found without the rose gold coloured seashell locket around his neck, while the pendant is most certainly “girly” in fashion, it belonged to his mother and holds great emotional and sentimental value to Kwesi, so he almost never takes it off. Inside of the locket is a picture of Kwesi and his parents. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: I went with a foreign exchange student truthfully because I am extremely British and really have no idea how the schooling system works in the States, so while Kwesi is learning the ropes, I am too! For Kwesi’s story, I would love for him to meet people, create some friendships and connections with other PCs and eventually have him become more comfortable and settled into life in the country and at the school. Ultimately discover the magic thing alongside the rest of the group, perhaps during the course of this he will discover the truth behind his mother’s death (to do with her status as a Magni and her former life essentially catching up to her) and have to deal with the shock/accept it all over again now that he knows the real circumstances (also coming to terms with fact mom essentially “lied” to him by withholding said info. Prolly gonna need friends to help him through it or else he’ll just turn into an emotional powder-keg and bad things will occur.) I want to try and keep him as good-natured/cheerful as possible, with just a little hint of drama and angst later on to add some more layers onto his backstory, but otherwise I’m trying to avoid making the character that always causes conflicts, that’s become my comfort zone a bit and I want to push the boat out a little! |
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
Originally hailing from a small town on the South coast of England, Kwesi has only recently moved to the US with his father after an unfortunate accident a year prior left them grieving the loss of Kwesi’s mother. The loss hit Kwesi hard initially, considering the mysterious circumstances around his mother’s demise; she simply never came home from work one day and was found dead by police approximately 3 days later.
Both Kwesi and his father struggled to come to terms with the missing link of their family, so when his father was presented with an opportunity for a “fresh start” in Crestwood Hollow, he decided to take it. Kwesi was apprehensive, but agreed to that the change may do them good and so they packed up and moved to the small town. His father purchased a fishing boat with the savings he had managed to accrue and now works as a trawler off the local docks.
Though Kwesi is unaware of the existence of magic, he has always felt there was something his mother was hiding from him and his father. Something strange, though the boy had never figured out what it was, he wondered if that “something” had anything to do with her sudden and unexplained death.
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
> Very unconfrontational, is more likely to apologize and walk away than rise to a fight, but as with any reasonable person he may lash out if he feels trapped or like he has no other choice but to fight back
> Analytical and will do his best to understand things but is still the victim of a very steep learning curve. Struggles academically because of said learning curve; is not “stupid”, but is definitely “slow” because the subject matter is presented in a different way to what he’s used to, and he struggles to comprehend the information in front of him. He will get it eventually, it just may take him a bit longer than usual.

> Kindle: Kwesi’s first pet, given to him for his 12th birthday by his mother shortly before her “accident”. Kwesi has had him ever since and feels a deep connection to Kindle but assumes this is because of two factors: his mom bought the snake for him, and he has had Kindle since the snake was very young and fit in the palm of his hands, rather than any sort of magical connection.

His thick, black hair is arguably his greatest visual asset, finely combed above his round, somewhat plump face. Of average height and above average weight, Charlie is the kind of chubby that largely goes unnoticed in clothing but quickly becomes uncomfortable in swimming trunks. He's already capable of growing facial hair worthy of someone twice his age, but opts to be perfectly clean-shaven in accordance with what his mother considers appropriate. Charlie has a reserved way about him in school and seldomly smiles cordially, nor does he seek eye-contact (though he doesn't avoid it either). Outside of school, especially when working at St. John's Special Needs Services, he tends to be more jovial. His posture is near perfect, with a straight back and eyes gazing towards the horizon. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: Charlie is very invested in St. John's and working with those in special need in general, not necessarily just children. He's committed to his studies and intends to enroll university in behavioral sciences, or possibly psychology. While Charlie has little interest in walking in his father's footsteps (something Josef worked very hard to have Chaldrie do), he does consider getting good grades and enrolling in a reputable university a good way to pay respects to his father. Upon discovering his Hexenbrut origin and all it entails, Charlie will ravenously tap his newfound potential. Up until that point he'd always considered himself unfortunate; yes, he's wealthy and sure, he's smart - but what has that gotten him? There are few outside of St. John's who know him well, and even fewer he'd consider to be friends. Discovering that he's a freaking wizard (his words) will help his mental outlook substantially and serve as a catalyst for Charlie to try and become the man he wants to be - both for himself and those who need him. To become a role model and to possibly use his powers to alleviate those in need. Indeed, to become something of a hero. |

After Josef died of a heart attack a year and a half ago, Charlie has started working extra at the special needs school his mother has been running for the past eighteen years. Here, Charlie has found something he truly enjoys. Helping kids with special needs have given Charlie a sense of purpose he previously lacked, and he has slowly started coming out of his rigid, cautious shell outside of that establishment as well.
Charlie is intelligent and strong-willed, but suffers from a lack of confidence and a poor self-image. Working at St. John's has helped, but there's still some way to go. He'd not consider himself bullied, but he's certainly been picked on in the past both verbally and physically. These days, he's largely a wallflower. Charlie is entirely unaware of the supernatural realm actually existing but does have an interest in the concept: he's read plenty of material on legends and folklore, both local and otherwise. A form of escapism in a household where stuff like video games were never accepted.

Alluring brown eyes, a charming slender nose and plump, luscious lips, all come together to form a comely appearance most would appreciate and consider pleasant. Apart from several healed cuts and scrapes from her careless youth and other sports injuries, her complexion is free of any major scars or blemishes. Those coffee brown eyes are just as expressive as they are alluring. Often carrying a message that her words do not, one can often tell how she feels when words fail her. A warm sense of nurturing kindness can usually found in their gaze. Her usually neat and straight waist-level black hair is usually either worn free, tied up in a pony tail or elaborately braided behind her back. She eats well, and leads a frequent and highly physical lifestyle. The life she leads allows her to maintain a fit and toned figure despite being a big eater. Blessed with feminine curves and a toned body, she is proud and confident of her figure, and takes great pride in maintaining it. Her preferred clothing are usually in comfortable baggy or form fitting sports attire, or even a combination of the two, depending on her current mood. She tends to dress simply, without any resemblance off extravagance or her energetic personality. Favouring the pants over dresses or skirts for their practicality, she is usually clad in some form of pants or jeans, the only other exception being found in shorts when she engages in highly physical activity such as sports. Her favourite colours include, black, shades of grey along with white. She isn’t opposed to vibrant colours, but they aren’t usually her style, unless she happens to chance upon a printed t-shirt or any other clothing that catches her eye. She can usually be seen in a sports bra(usually from Underarmour) over a hoodie/jacket, along with pants or leggings from sports brands such as Nike or Adidas. Her footwear are similarly branded sports shoes that matches well with the rest of her outfit. M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S: I’d like to explore her being thrown into a new and foreign environment for her, and to explore the life of the American schooling she has heard so much of after living in London for most of her life, but has never been part of her life until now. I’ve love her to meet others, make new friends and establish relationships with the rest of the excellent trove of PCs out there. Another thing I would like to explore is to discover that this magic thing actually goes further back in her bloodline and family tree that she knows. Her parents don’t know about the connection, and the discovery only comes to light by chance later on. She often tries to emulate the behaviour of her parents as she grew, I would like her to eventually realise that she doesn't need to be a copy of her parents, or live in her shadow, and watch as she comes in her own, by walking her own path but still retaining the core values and beliefs her family holds dear. |

The only daughter of an English businessman who married his American sweetheart in America, before moving back to London, Nala has lived in England for the most of her life. She has been to the US with the family several times, but is otherwise pretty much a foreigner to the country despite being half-American. Coming from a long line of wealthy businessmen the led all the way back to the Victorian era, The Johnsons were most definitely old money.
Despite the stereotypes associated with rich spoiled brats, her parents had always educated her on being humble and the importance of being down-to-earth and generous to others when possible. The saying the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree describes her well, possessing the passionate and energetic nature of her mother along with the intelligence and open minded nature of her father.Nala isn’t the type to cause conflicts or fights unnecessarily, and she is not a drama-queen in any sense of the word, and I hope that others will like her kind, affable and energetic personality as well as I do.

The fact that he has always been kind to her only makes it that much easier to do so. Being so new, she hopes to get to know him better, and offering any form of help to him should he need so. Despite being busy with her own tennis practices, she tries to make herself available to catch him in practice. Unaware if he has noticed her in any of them, she hasn’t felt the need to make her presence be known, content with simply getting her fill before she leaves for whatever so was supposed to do. |
