Ezekiel Kel

Location: Houston Space Center -- Houston, Texas
Skills:

Ezekiel drew out an arrow and his bow. He held the arrow notched in the bow down in front of him, not aiming at anything but was ready when they walked through the door. There were several badies around, a few moving barrels and Echnida herself sneering at them. What exactly were they late for? The rest of camp and New Rome would know by now that Echnida was coming after them all. After all Ezekiel had warned them and they had gotten here as quickly as they could.
”Got it, barrels go boom, bad,” Ezekiel said and looked away from the barrels. He caught Echnida’s eye and frowned when she asked who wanted to feed her pet first and then the thing in her bag grew. Ezekiel shifted, taking half a step back and looked at it. Good gods, now would be the time for one of the gods to give them an advantage of some kind.
”Hey Janelle, I think now would be a good time to see if you could put people to sleep,” he said. They knew she could invade people’s dreams, but maybe she could put them to sleep as well. Putting creatures to sleep as well would be wonderful. Ezekiel had no idea how they were going to take out that thing.
”I go high, you go low?” The question was directed at Kristin as he raised his bow and aimed it at one of the creatures heads. What had they just walked in on?

Demetri Rowan Howell

Location: Sewer entrance outside > Fields of Mars
Skills: Shapeshifting

Demetri let out a thunderous howl of pain. Jerking his head back away from the Harpies that harmed him and left him blind in one eye. Any fear, or terror that he should have felt was now subdued by the intense anger and pain that was boiling inside of him. The bright blue glow of his chest now shined with such ferocity as the howl turned into a deafening roar. Flames whirled out of his mouth, curling around the sides as it widened into a cone to engulf the Harpies leaving no trace that they had ever been present. Once the flames had subsided the pain came curling back to him in waves. Demetri began to buck in the air with no way to stop the burning feeling in his eye as he thrashed about. His wales of pain echoed across the fields as his draconic form lent a boost to the decibels at which he could scream at.

When he finally stopped, his eye opened up with a ferocity as it looked about wildly and shot off a blast of fire towards the dracolitch that was attack Andy and Arthur. The shot went wide as he over compensated for the distance because of his missing eye. Suddenly there was a low and deep growl as he enraged at the situation. Demetri saw the ground forces and decided to try and halt further assaults. With a quick bat of his wings he flew up into the air, gaining height as he let himself freefall down before gliding across the front lines and breathing down continuous blue flames. The wall wasn't nearly as big as what he had hoped for, but it would at least help in some amount to deter their forces from charging through it.

"Alright, Ariadne it is," Waverley chirped with a small smile, giving a nod of approval at the introduction. Her body seemed much more relaxed, her anxiety likely calmed by the Goddess' soothing demeanor. Her nervous smile gave way to a more at ease smirk as her gaze shifted downward to her guitar, one of her hands plucking at the strings one at a time and the other twisting the knobs on the head accordingly to make sure it was tuned and ready for any fight yet to come. But at the mention of giants, Waverley furrowed her eyebrows and lifted her head back up to look at Ariadne.

"Uh, pardon?" Waverley asked, her head tilted to the side a touch. She wasn't aware of the divinely proclaimed rule of defeating giants, and as such was confused by the Goddess' statement. "I'm not really sure what we can do to help that you can't. Aren't y'all, like, supremely powerful or something?"

Marco still couldn't believe that he could use his voice like this, but it did very much so make him aware that this is why his family might consider singing a curse. He was firmly never going to use it again after this day, that he did resolve. It wasn't really his thing to bring destruction into the world... but he was defending his home and he missed Em and was worried sick for her.

As he heard Nancy change her song, he did to join her, to show her that he was with her, but also that he knew she was better at this than him. He turned his attention to one of the gryphons and then unleashed his full power at it.

They got the beat
They got the beat
Kids got the beat
Yeah, kids got the beat

Go-go music really makes us dance
Doing the pony puts us in a trance
The Watusi, just give us a chance
That's when we fall in line

Marco noticed the gryphon wouldn't go down so easy that were also attacking and pulled out his Imperial gold knife and went to attack the one, aiming for it's wing, hoping to take it out before it could hurt anyone else. All the while he continued to sing, to keep inspiring others. Thankfully he got the one... as he continued to sing.

'Cause we got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
Yeah, we got it!

We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
Everybody get on your feet
We got the beat
We know you can dance to the beat
We got the beat
Jump back, get down
We got the beat
Round and round and round

Mary almost wanted to gag slightly at Kiera and Leda, but decided to say nothing in particular with what seemed to be occurring in the area. Polybotes was knocked into a building by Terminus, and had ended up throwing her friend backwards! This was getting a little annoying, and she was rather glad that Kiera had managed to dim down the pain that was still somewhat shooting through her body. However she really wanted to keep Polybotes down, or at least hopefully keep him down despite everything that was going on and the giant just not wanting to stay down.

She figured that the harder it was for the giant to move and be able to shift around and swing, the harder it would be for him to attack them. "Now how about you hold still for a little while," she muttered as vines shot up from the ground and started wrapping around Polybotes. She wasn't very confident that the vines were wrapped around too tightly though, since she really did not want to have to worry about him too much, at least wanting to make it more difficult for the giant. It took her another few moments before she was more confident that the giant was tied at least somewhat tightly.

People really needed to work on their song choices. Not that it wasn't cool for people to be managing to blow up monster heads with music, that was awesome, but really? There had to be way better songs for them to sing, at this point it was seeming like they either didn't know any good songs or just were running out of ideas of what to sing. Of course, he only could pay attention to that for a moment though, as if seemingly out of nowhere, a harpy came charging down out of the air at him, and snatched his sword right out of his hand! Now wasn't that rude...

Looking at the harpy as the creature seemingly was taunting him, he thought nothing of it and instantly jumped up and tackled the thing, getting his sword back in the process. "You are really annahyin you know," he couldn't help but comment, before he wasted no time in swinging his sword and killing the creature. Jason turned his attention towards the other monsters that were around, don't get him started on the zombie dragon that thankfully decided to get killed by the bad song choices, and he saw another harpy nearby, killing that one too and swinging his sword around slightly, prepared for another thin to attack him hopefully.

Janelle Gauger

Location: Houston Space Center
Skills: Hypnokinesis, Flight

Janelle more or less nodded her head slightly at the words of the other two, she was somewhat prepared for this sort of thing, but not very, she still didn't know fully what to expect. Of course when they entered the room, she only could really hear the laughter of Echidna, that being the thing that alerted her more so to what part of the room she was in. Then again, from what she knew about monsters not being able to see them was probably an advantage, especially with regards to this one. When she mentioned too late for something, that incredibly confused her, and the other two were talking about barrels. Problem was that barrels wasn't exactly something she could easily tell where they were based on sound. Nope, they typically were quiet unless from the sounds of what Kristin was saying, they were quiet unless they went kaboom.

"If you dahn't mend me askin, a rooehgh idea o' where dahse barrels you mentioned are would be nice," she said towards Kristin, before nodding her head slightly when Zeke asked her to try and put some of the creatures in the room to sleep. Not like she hadn't done it before, so here was hoping that she'd manage to pull it off now. However, she almost freaked out for a moment, as she could no longer feel the ground beneath her as she ended up floating in the air about half a foot off of the ground, but she was trying not to think about the idea of not really being able to even feel where in the room she was, as she focused on putting some of the creatures to sleep. Somehow she had managed to put some of the Cyclops and Telekhines to sleep, at least of those that had remained in the area and hadn't left yet.

Arthur Stanford

Location: Gryf's back
Skills: N/A

Arthur was relieved to see that the zombie-dragon was quickly dispatched, knowing it could have been a massive problem should it stayed undead for too long. He felt so incredibly stupid for letting that happen, but he couldn't start beating himself up now, reflection and grief could be saved for after the fight. In the meantime, he casted his eyes down at Nancy, who'd managed to slay the dragon with just her words, something that he didn't know what to make of. It was impressive and scary for sure, something that made him wonder about the limits of his own powers.

Arthur was paralyzed with indecision though, he could try to raise another dragon to fight off the hoards or fight Polybotes, but if he did, he'd be risking it going crazy again. He couldn't do too much from the air, knives were better for close range combat after all, and even if he could control the blade with his powers, at such a range, he didn't think he'd be at all effective. Arthur cleared his throat and asked Andy, "What should we do next? Sorry about that... I didn't think it would go crazy like that." His voice was soft, clearly self conscious from his screw up.

For a moment Andy was happy that the dragon that she had killed wasn't going to crush any demi-gods below. But that quickly changed to horror as the zombie-dragon started attacking them. She gave a small sigh of relief. "It is okay. He didn't get us. Maybe start with smaller things first?" She offered some advice. Dragons didn't seem like a good place to start trying to learn how to raise and control the dead.

Andy tried to calm Gryf down, but he seemed extra pissed with the damage he had taken. He even hissed at her. "Sorry Gryf. I promise I'll clean it up and put bandages on it for you." She felt bad that he had gotten hurt trying to help her.

She turned her attention to the creatures around them. Her best attack was lighting. It had good range and tended to murder most things easily enough. She hit two harpies with it and watched them fall from the sky. Those hitting a demi-god unfortunate enough to be under it when it fell would be less likely to kill them at least. She sent out another blast but winced as she realized it was another Gryphon. She felt bad about hurting Gryphons now. In the long run that was stupid, especially since she probably only pissed the creature off. It didn't die.

"See if you can keep the creatures that get too close away. I'll go for the farther away ones." Andy offered advice to Arthur. If he could keep Gryph from being attacked again that'd keep them in the air. She didn't want to fall to her death because Gryph was hurt.

Location: New Rome: Sewers -> The Labyrinth

As much as Em hated the idea of it she was going to have to enter the Labrythin. It was like walking through sludge mentally. Thankfully with Ariadne there, it wasn't as bad as it would have been. She shook off the feeling. "Alright. I'm here to help then." Three demi-gods and a goddess. They could fight a titan...hopefully. Of course, all the demi-gods were Fifth Cohort so it wasn't Rome's best people.

She turned to face the hole they had come through. Em didn't know if the monsters could use it to get into New Rome and she didn't want to take the chance so she tried to get her plants to grow and cover the hole up. "Sean, forgive me I have failed to keep track of everyone in the Cohorts skill levels, but how are you with weapons?" She was good with a sword, and they had Waves' magic. They needed a plan.

Location: Argo III
Skills: Siege engine

Niah had a simple task. Destroy anything that didn't belong in her home. There was a lot of that. Siege weapons were one of her favorite tools too. She had spent a whole year working on learning how to operate all the ones New Rome had on hand and had become quite good at the War Games with them.

Her demi-god skills didn't lend to being great at fighting. Because of that, she had made an effort to be good at physical fighting, and tactics. She took a look at the field and what monsters were attacking. Taking out the ones in the air was their best option. It was a lot harder for those on the ground to fight in the air. She did see that the kids were riding on the back of a Gryphon. It must be friendly so she wouldn't hit that one.

Niah aimed at Harpy and missed. She really disliked Harpies. Hated might even be accurate. She had nearly been killed by one once when they pulled her off a rock wall she had been climbing to get to the Dragon's lair. The same lair they had gotten the gem they were fighting to protect from. Niah shook the memory away and focused.

She took three more shots. In the processing taking out two of the other Gryphons completely and injuring a third. It was a good amount of work, but there were so many monsters she had no idea if it would help turn the tids. She had to keep trying.

Kiera Donovan

Location: New Rome
Skills: Hydrokinesis

Kiera watched as Polybotes flung her girlfriend backwards, and now she was starting to see red as her girlfriend landed on the ground with a thud. It looked like she was able to get up again though which was a good thing as Kiera focused on all of the water around her, and sent another heavy wave of water through the building just as Polybotes was about to get out of. The giant was knocked back down as Terminus took that time and managed to ram the giant hard enough, taking the giant down with ease this time. Kiera walked up to Leda looking at her girlfriend seeing that there were a lot of bruises. "Are you okay?" She asked her as Terminus approached Polybotes who was on the ground groaning.

"This means nothing, New Rome will fall tonight." Polybotes said with a laugh as Terminus took the final blow, using his stone body to slam into the giant as he burst into dust. Kiera looked towards the sky as she saw hundreds of harpies and gryphons flying overhead, she squinted her eyes slightly seeing that they were carrying something in their talons. They started to drop them, and noticed that they were barrels. Then she heard the explosions and green flames in the blocks further away from them, they were bombing the city with greek fire, she noticed a barrel was coming towards them. "Look out!" Kiera yelled, doing the only thing that she could think of she quickly used the remaining water shielding her, Mary, Leda and Terminus feeling the intense heat coming from the fire.

Madalyne Crane

Location: Camp Jupiter, Fields of Mars
Skills: Ares' Blessing, Mystiokinsis, Sword Fighting, Magical Fighting

Madalyne felt the ground starting to shake as she saw more gryphons and harpies in the air, they were dropping barrels of greek fire onto the battlefield, as well as New Rome in the distance. She started to feel really angry as rage built up inside of her, normally she was always really calm and collected most of the time. Her home was being destroyed, as she felt even more angrier by the second as her fellow soldiers were killed by the greek fire bombing run. A red aura appeared around her, her legs were hurting from the sudden drop after the harpy had dropped her onto the ground.

a small magical shockwave came out of her, knocking down several gryphons and harpies to the ground, as she charged forward Madalyne swung her sword clipping the harpy's wing as it fell down. A gryphon flew down and grabbed Nancy and another would grab Jason as well to with their massive talons and started to lift her up into the air slowly as more would swoop down and pick up more legionnaires to drop to the ground.

Two harpies would fly down and start clawing and biting at both Arthur and Andy, the two of them would recieve nasty gashes and claw marks across their arms as they squawked at the two of them. Some cyclops had turned their attention towards the Argo III and they would start chucking boulders at it. Some of them missed, some managed to take out some of the ballistae aboard the flying ship.

Demitri would see a group of cyclops throwing massive boulders at the remaining siege weapons that the legion had managing to destroy two more. from his view as well, he could see with his only good eye that there were more monsters coming in the distance as well the city would be overwhelmed soon.

Sean was a bit young most likely still a probatio rank as he turned to look at Emily for a moment asking what his skills were with weapons, as he produced an imperial gold hatchet from his belt. He didnt really prefer swords or anything like that but he was really good with axes and things like that. "I have my hatchet with me." Sean answered Emily as Ariadne turned to look at Waverly as she asked the goddess why she couldnt just do it herself. "The ancient laws prevent us from taking down giants alone, and we need the aide of a demigod or demigods to help." Ariadne answered her, looking at the three of them and motioned them to follow her, the three of them could hear what sounded like bombs going off in the battle going on just above them. "Your city will not last much longer either so we must hurry right now."

Kristin Reynolds

Location: Houston Space Center
Skills: N/A

"The barrels contain whats called Greek Fire, it's exteremly volatile if you hit it to hard." Kristin told Janelle, knowing that she couldnt really see and could understand why she needed an explanation. She noticed that Janelle was floating in the air for some reason which was interesting to see as well. "Thats new." Kristin said as she looked over at Zeke and nodded towards him and smiled slightly she didnt mind that at all.

"Sounds good to me." Kristin said as she quickly charged forward towards the chimera knowing that it could breathe fire. "Just be careful of the chimera's tail and fire breath." She warned the two of them, as Kristin swung her spear, as the chimera dodged the hit. A cyclops would charge forward and tried to knock the bow out of Zeke's hands and a telekhine would throw some more tools at Janelle managing to hit her in the head.

Demetri Rowan Howell

Location: Fields of Mars
Skills: Shapeshifting

This was nothing like what Demetri had expected this fight to be. Up until now their fights seemed to be relatively quick, painless, and to some extent heroic. But this...this was outright war. He kept his bad eye closed, helping to soothe the stinging pain that came from it as he looked around the fields of Mars. There were cyclops throwing boulders at their weapons, an eruption of gryphons and harpies flying onto the scene, and in the far distance he could see more of their army arriving. He had promised Waverly he'd make quick work of this, thinking about how she was still locked in the Labrynth alone and in distressed danger. Demetri began to panic unable to think of what to do next, handle the harpies? The gryphons? Maybe attack the Cyclops that were destroying their weapons. All that went out the window when he saw Jason and Nancy get picked up by some Harpies. Those blasted demonic creatures again.

He thought back to how they were dropping off their legions and breaking their legs from far off heights, and although they were tough Demi didn't think Nancy or Jason could survive a fall from that height without serious damage. Demetri folded in his wings diving down before unfurling them and gliding towards them in an attempt to grab them. Nancy's captor dodged him easily as he missed Jason's completely. Damn it, he needed to pay more attention. This time he faked out Nancy's captor, succeeding as he grabbed her within his claws and pulled her away from the Harpie. "There's more coming from afar, we need a better plan than to just fight." Demi swooped down, having missed Jason's captor again, dropping off Nancy on the ground to safety before he flew back up a few feet and laid in wait. He stared down the harpie, waiting for them to make a move when suddenly they dropped Jason. Demetri bolted towards the landward ginger, grabbing him at the right moment as he circled back in the air and dropped him off next to Nancy. Demetri flew back up to stare the Harpies down. "Pick on someone you're own height you deformed chickens"

As soon as Emily stepped through the crack that opened into the labyrinth, she'd feel a scrawny arm hook around her shoulders and pull her into a tight half hug. It only lasted a second before it loosened, though Waverley's arm continued to rest limply on the girl's shoulder in a more casual manner. A beaming grin was spread across her lips, seemingly already relaxed a little just by Em's presence.

"Ey, look who finally decided to join the party!" Waverley exclaimed, her chipper attitude shining through despite the circumstances. She kept her arm where it was even as she glanced over to Ariadn, hoping it would help bring comfort to not only Emily, but also herself. "Shit, there are god laws? I mean, that makes sense, stop the bad ones from, y'know, tearing shit up, but still...does that mean there are cop gods?" As soon as Waverley said that awful phrase, she shivered with disgust and horror. "Oh God, there better not be cop gods. That sounds like a fucking nightmare." She began to saunter behind Ariadne as the goddess lead the way through the labyrinth, trying her best to ignore the sounds of war going off above them. To help with this, she shot a glance over to the younger probatio. "That's cool, axes are cool...any, like, superpowers? Probably not the technical term for it, but you know what I'm talking about."

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: Fields of Mars -> Senate Building
Skills: Strategy, Audiokinesis

Nancy screamed, not out of fear but from fury as a gryphon scooped her up. They were officially on her list of least favorite monsters. She was struggling, trying to stab at it with her daggers when a massive dragon came flying straight at her. "Hey, be careful!" Nancy shouted, as the gryphon dodged and the dragon missed. She didn't have a lot of faith in the Greek's ability to save her without beheading her. She didn't want to die here. She wasn't afraid of death. She just wasn't a huge fan of the system in the Underworld. She wanted to become a tree, and given that there were clearly no gods on their side that day, she doubted any of them would take pity on her as she died and make her into a plant. The dragon snatched her from the gryphon and set her down, shocking Nancy slightly as she had all of her limbs in tact.

But even that small act wasn't enough. They were going to be overwhelmed. They couldn't hold New Rome or Camp Jupiter. The only way to save the Legion - to save everyone who was risking their lives right now under her orders - would be to evacuate. She looked around until she spotted Madalyne. "I'm calling it!" she called out to Mads, knowing she'd understand - and confident that her friend would agree with her decision. And if Mads didn't, well, they could scream at each other over it later - because they'd be alive to do so. And speaking of screaming...

Nancy didn't feel like singing.

She screamed, trying to use the sound waves to blast back every flying monster in the area, to buy everyone else a little bit of time. She took a deep breath and screamed again, this time the waves blasting the monsters backwards, creating more or less a no man's land in the space where they had been. She took a breath, before running towards the Senate Building. They had flares set up there that would signal to the Legion to evacuate. She dodged Greek fire raining from the skies as she ran, having a few close calls but eventually she made it. She got to the flares, her hands shaking with anger and shame and sorrow and making it difficult, but eventually they went off, signaling to everyone that they had lost.

New Rome was going to fall. And they couldn't stop it.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: New Rome
Skills: Superspeed

"Urgh, I'm fine..." Leda grumbled. The bruises weren't fun, but that wasn't a new problem to have as a demigod. Honestly in the grand scheme of things, bruises were pretty good. Broken bones were also fairly typical and extremely annoying, especially if you were low on ambrosia. Leda was feeling pretty great overall - they had defeated the giant, things were looking up. But then, she frowned slightly, noticing something strange in the sky... Her eyes then widened, realizing that the barrels were filled with Greek fire. "Oh we are so fucked..." Leda whispered. She was almost in shock, a speedster standing still.

Luckily, Kiera had it handled, making a protective layer of water around all of them. The heat was so strong, it was like someone had forced them all in a sauna and then added a roaring fire for fun. She frowned, noticing that there were flares shooting up into the sky. She really hoped they were fire absorbing missiles or something. Greek fire wasn't something to mess with. It was pure, unavoidable destruction. But then, an idea occurred to her - she was more of a DC fan, but she had seen a movie once where a speedster saved the day during fiery destruction. Kiera's water shield may not last forever after all.

Leda cracked her knuckles and moved faster than the eye could see. She grabbed each person one at a time, pulling them away from the Greek fire and into a safe location. By the time she was done, everyone would find themselves inside of a cute little tea shop, sitting at a table with tea cups in their hands. Leda smirked a little bit, drinking from her own tea cup.

Location: Houston Space Center -- Houston, Texas

Ezekiel looked over at Janelle as she started to float, hopefully that was supposed to happen for her and not some creature doing it. Either way, whatever Janelle was doing to get some of the monsters to sleep, it was working. Ezekiel turned to assess the chimera more and remaining monsters that were awake when Kristin agreed to their plan. He shifted to comply, aiming the arrow for one of the chimera heads when hands were suddenly waving in front of him. A cyclops was trying to knock his bow out. Ezekiel managed to take a couple steps back before aiming his arrow at his current assailant.
”Never touch another man’s bow dude, come on,” Ezekiel stated. He lined up his bow and arrow for a headshot to kill the cyclops but his arrow shifted and impaled itself in the cyclops’s shoulder.
”Dammit. Sorry Sunshine, gonna be a few!” Ezekiel said and quickly took aim again at the cyclops who was not too happy and coming after him. He aimed true and the arrow dropped the cyclops who disappeared into dust. Zeke turned to the chimera and aimed an arrow for one of the four eyeballs. His arrow sailed clean over both of their heads and Zeke frowned before grabbing a sonic arrow.
”Gonna get loud” This time Ezekiel aimed his sonic arrow at one of chimera's necks. He imbedded the arrow into the chimera's neck but the screaming of the arrow or the arrow in its neck didn't even seem to phase it. Excellent. Maybe they should blow up the barrels.

It was getting harder and harder to focus on a song as the numbers kept seeming to swell instead of decline. Marco could feel the icy grip of anxiety clutching at his chest as he tried to hold himself together, but it was unraveling faster than a ball of yarn that had been found by a kitten. Even more so when he heard Nancy scream and blast several enemies across the field, as the songs were now gone. He could only use his power to attack, to try to get away...

The flares shot up into the sky and he knew it. New Rome was going to fall... and there was nothing they could do. His first thoughts turned to Em, but as he turned to look at the Sewers the entrance was on fire. In frustration, he turned towards the enemies advancing on him and blasted them with a loud scream of energy, that seemed to knock a few away.

His second thought was to his poor little Milo. Oh gods... Milo was in the Fifth Cohort... So Marco felt his body turning towards the building and he started to think. He noticed a puddle on the ground and he pulled out his phone and turned on the flashlight mode. He fished a coin from his pocket and tossed it into the Rainbow. "Oh Rainbow Goddess, I need to speak with Emily Richardson now please!" Even if he couldn't get to her in time, she needed to know. When her face appeared, Marco nearly shouted at her. "Em, if you're still in the sewers get out! New Rome is going to fall and we need to leave now!"

"...I can definitely agree with that statement," Mary said to Leda. They were totally screwed with the entire situation, and she wasn't sure if there was anything that they could do to prevent it. There were so many people in this place, and if New Rome was going to fall, they had to focus on getting those who didn't fight out, away from New Rome. This whole situation was not the best, and she wasn't sure what else to do at this point. At least the giant was dead, that didn't mean anything though clearly, and the giant had known that. This was insanely bad.

Suddenly, there was a rush of wind as they were no longer underneath Kiera's bubble of water that was protecting them from the Greek fire. Instead, they were in what looked like... A tea shop? Mary couldn't help but roll her eyes at Leda as she was sitting there with a cup of tea, and they all had tea cups in their hands. "As much as I would prefer to have a tea party Leda, now is definitely not the time for that. At all. Cause you know, all hell is breaking loose and everything, we've got more important things to do."

This situation was just getting worse and worse. No matter what they did, it seemed to never be enough. More monsters are coming by the minute, not to mention the explosions and every other bit of chaos that was seemingly going on around them. Nothing seemed to be going their way, and that was a horrible thing. They were losing, they weren't just losing, they were majorly losing. There wasn't much that he could do, since the more they fought, the more the monsters seemed to appear and strike back.

Then he ended up getting picked up by a gryphon. Yeah that was totally a good thing. "Get de 'ell ahff o' me!" he said instantly as he tried to get free of the gryphon's talons. Then again, maybe that wasn't the best idea, given the fact that he was up in the air, and suddenly he was dropped, falling towards the ground. Jason was preparing mentally for what was going to happen when he hit the ground, but discovered he didn't have to as Demetri the Dragon caught him and set him back down next to the Roman girl who tended to give orders. He was a bit confused because of the chaos, but he understood at least somewhat the words that Nancy was saying. They'd lost the battle, and there wasn't anything they could really do to make it so that they would win.

Janelle Gauger

Location: Houston Space Center
Skills: Hypnokinesis, Flight

She was still incredibly confused as to how come she couldn't feel the ground beneath her feet. Janelle moved her feet around a little bit in doing so. She wasn't necessarily confused as to what was clearly happening, clearly she was flying, nope it was more of the how was she flying. Then again, based on what she knew, it might just be that she had another ability that she didn't know that she had, like how earlier in their journey she had learned that she could put people to sleep and manipulate dreams. That had definitely been a bit of an adventure to discover.

Then she felt something hit her in the head, some sort of tool or something, without being able to see what it was she couldn't be certain, but she managed to stay on her feet so to speak, staying stable and all. Her attention turned towards that direction, and she started seeing about putting more of the monsters to sleep. She wasn't too sure how it would work out for her in the long run, all that mattered was trying to keep the monsters down and out. Luckily, she managed to put a few more of the monsters in the area to sleep.

Arthur Stanford

Location: Gryf's back
Skills: Ferrokinesis

Arthur nodded at Andy, only to recoil as the harpies lunged at them, leaving deep and painful marks in his arms. oThis was the first time he had really gotten hit from any of these monsters, and it kind of removed a level of sympathy he might of had for them. That hurt, really hurt, and he very much did not want it to happen again. Reaching down to his side, he pulled out his knife, and floated it in the air. He'd do what he could to take these things out before they caused more permanent damage, but it was hard to concentrate with the searing pain coursing through him.

Dragging a knife through the air, the harpy dodged out of the way. He exhaled, but it was hard to focus on hitting these things between the damage he'd already sustained. He had to have proper combat training if he was ever going to on a mission like this again. Right now? He was still too young and too new to doing any of this to actually be useful. A part of him was worried at the idea that he was putting people in danger here by being inept, a thought that hadn't crossed his mind when he had decided to join this fight. Trying to stab the creature once more time and failing, he huffed in frustration.

More Harpies were attacking them. Her brother was off trying to get Nancy and Jason out of the grips of other ones. There were so many enemies. It was overwhelming. Then rockets were going off, and she didn't know what it meant. Andy could guess though. They needed to get back to the Argo III.

She held out her hand, blood dripping from her cuts. Electricity flashed around her. Hitting several of the Harpies. Clearing the way for them to get back to the ship. "Back to the ship Gryf!" They were being overwhelmed. She wondered if the rockets were declaring retreat. Gryf turned and got them back to the Argo III.

Em returned Waverly's hug. "No way I'm letting two Probatio fight a Giant alone." Emily herself was only a Legionnaire, which was by design. She had never wanted to raise in ranks any higher. This was the station she was happy at.

Marco's face appeared. It was one of those Iris messages that the Greeks used since she had his compact. "I'm okay Marco. Evacuate. I'm not in the sewers anymore. Ariadne appeared. We've got a task here to deal with." She couldn't say the words that she had stepped into the Labyrinth. But she knew that Marco would understand. "I've got the compact. I'll contact you as soon as I can. I love you."

She didn't want it to sound like a final goodbye but it felt like it was. Em was thankful she had kissed him before he had ridden the Dragon-Demi off to the battle. Thankful he was okay and still alive.

"New Rome has fallen." She said to the others. "Let us complete the task before us in defiance of what has destroyed our home." She was angry. Her home for the last five years was gone. She was supposed to be able to leave here and go about her life, not carry the burden that so many had died. "Lead the way Ariadne."

They were being overwhelmed. New Rome could not stand against this. Niah's chest tightened. The rockets went off. Signaling the retreat. The battle had been lost. Did Mads still have the cyrstal? Had they been able to protect Terminus? Would he retreat? So many questions.

"We have to cover the retreat. We've lost." Niah said. Her voice cracking. The right decision had been made though. The retreat was the only option. Hopefully, the important things were still safe. Maybe someday they could come back here and rebuild. Maybe. Niah started to lay down covering fire for the retreating soldiers.

Kiera Donovan

Location: New Rome
Skills: N/A

One moment she was holding off the fire with her water ability the next moment she was now in some random coffee shop in New Rome sitting in a hair with a tea cup in her hand. Looking a bit confused for a moment before looking over at her girlfriend and smiled towards her, glad that she was able to get them out of there quickly. She looked down at her arms they had some blisters on them from holding up the water shield and the heat from it must have burned her slightly. "Thank you love." Kiera said giving her a smile and stood up giving her a kiss on the cheek when Terminus came over and entered the shop.

"The city is falling, I suggest you three leave right now." Terminus said as Kiera took a few steps over towards the stone looking god for a moment. "What about you?" Kiera asked looking at him for a moment. "I'll hold them off while the rest of the legionaries retreat." He said to her as Kiera turned to look over at Leda and Mary, they needed to get back to the Argo III then. "We need to get back to the Argo III." She said, as she watched the greek fire bombs still hitting the ground as the legionaires in the city started to retreat now as well to.

Madalyne Crane

Location: Camp Jupiter, Fields of Mars
Skills: N/A

During the battle Alexandra had fallen back to the Senate building, Nancy would see her gathering as many bags containing scrolls, books, maps, records anything that they had. Most importantly she was holding the Sibylline Books books the Roman's book of prophecies, she turned to look at Nancy. "Could you help me with these?" Alexandra asked Nancy, these were important to New Rome and needed as many records that they had as possible to she had a few shoulder bags and backpacks set up as well with them all stuffed inside to.

Gryf squawked at Andy as he flew through the air and landed safely on the top deck of the Argo III, Alannah turned to look at Niah and nodded towards her. "I'll land us so we can pick up as many people as we can then, just have to hold them off a bit longer." Alannah told Niah as she moved the ship. Landing in the clearing that Nancy had made with her loud scream, some legionaires immediately started to climb up the rope ladder as soon as it was pulled down.

Madalyne was backing up sweat coming off of her forehead seeing the flares going up, her home had fallen and she was more mad at herself more than anything. She quickly climbed up the ladder as well, until she was on the top deck, the legionaires quickly started to manually take control of the ballistae firing them off at the monster army as well to.

"That would be the Fates job." Ariadne answered Waverly as she started to head deeper into the Labyrinth and made a few turns as they got closer the group would be able to hear a voice giving orders the figure on the other side of the room wore dark shadowy like robes and stood about twenty feet high. In the room were several barrels of greek fire as well to. The giant turned his attention to the goddess and three puny demigods and quickly brandished it's stygian iron sword. "Clytius it's nice to see you again." Ariadne said as the goddess pulled out a celestial bronze sword looking at Waverly and Emily. "Find something with fire please." She requested as she ran forward, and the goddess and giant were fighting now.

Kristin Reynolds

Location: Houston Space Center
Skills: Spear fighting

"You aim like a stormtrooper Zeke." Kristin teased Zeke as she swung her spear aiming for it's tail, and managed to cut through it's tough hide and cut the poisonous tail off. She quickly took a step backwards to avoid getting swiped by the monster's massive claws, it breathed out a wall of fire into the air as it howled in pain.

She turned her attention towards Janelle for a moment seeing that she had taken out some more of the monsters by putting them to sleep. "Janelle try putting the chimera to sleep." Kristin suggested as she rolled out of the way from another swipe from the chimera while Echidna watched the scene unfolding before her smirking to herself.

Ezekiel Kel

Location: Houston Space Center -- Houston, Texas
Skills: Light Manipulation; Sword Fighting

”I have no idea what a stormtrooper is but if they have poor aim, unfortunately I agree with you.” Ezekiel was even more perturbed that the sound of the sonic arrow had no effect on the chimera. Perhaps the sounds was too high pitched for the creature to notice. He would save the remaining sonic arrows for the other monsters. It was time to pull out the big guns.
Ezekiel glanced back to see how Janelle was managing and she still seemed to be hovering off the ground. He didn’t know anyone back at camp that could fly. That would be a sweet tale to tell. Suddenly the room got warm and Ezekiel looked back to see the chimera blowing fire and Janelle dodging. At the very least the poisonous tail was something they didn’t have to worry about anymore. Unfortunately, Zeke didn’t cut it off so he wouldn’t get to keep it even if he wanted it.
Ezekiel slipped the bow over his shoulder and brought his hands up and the light in the room started to shift. Ezekiel pulled as much light as he could and aimed it for the chimera’s eyes. He succeeded in blinding the Chimera which would hopefully, give Kristin and him more of an advantage. He knew Kristin had just asked Janelle to try and put the creature to sleep but if he could get it killed, Janelle could just focus on the other six monsters and then they could tackle Echidna together. Hopefully.
Ezekiel pulled his sword out, hitting the button on the pendant and rushed the creature and swung it over his head, trying to impale the creature in the chest. Unfortunately, Ezekiel completely missed. Perhaps he should have gone after the other creatures. Ah well, he was already there and so Ezekiel swung forward again. He hit the creature but he couldn’t cut the hide. Yup, time for the great creature to be put to sleep.

Demetri Rowan Howell

Location: Fields of Mars
Skills: Shapeshifting

As Demetri fought the harpies with tooth and claws, flames and tail, the watched as the sky was lit up not by Greek fire bit by signal flares. Nancy had run off during the commotion, no where to be found within the fields of Mars and suddenly the back lines were beginning to retreat while the front kept guard to allow those to safety. The Argo III had landed into a clearing and hordes of monsters came barreling towards them all as soldiers retreated up the ropes and to the safety of the ships defenses. Demetri had decided to help keep the monsters at bay to allow more to gain cover. He flew over the enemies before the Argo and rained down fire of his own. A massive wall of flames keeping the beasts at bay as he swept down and grabbed legionaires, plopping six aboard the ship in total with several passings.

Once the last of them had been dropped gingerly aboard the deck, Demetris endurance began to wane, having taken his new form for far longer than anticipated. His draconian Visage dropped and his body tumbled and rolled against the deck of the ship, stopping finally on his back as his right hand rest over his stomach while his left was pressed against his forehead. Exhaustion was taking him, the pain of his eye helping to drain him and strain his body even more as he lay there and groaned in pain. "Ive...gotta get up...gotta...gotta help Waverly....and Marco...and Em..." He couldn't find the strength to rise just yet, needing a moment to rest or some godly food to help regain some.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: Senate Building
Skills: Daggers, Hand to Hand Combat

Nancy was relieved to see Alexandra still alive - and only a small part of it was because she didn't want to become the Augur in the event of her sister's passing. It was selfish and she didn't feel good about it, but that was the way she felt. She had always been very in touch with her uglier emotions. They were raw and vibrant - and she could trust them, they couldn't be manufactured like happiness or joy. "On it," Nancy told her sister, grabbing as many of the bags as she could carry. She slung them over her shoulder and carried them on her back, leaving her hands free for her twin daggers. After all of the fighting, her voice was sore and she didn't know if she'd be able to belt out another powerful blast.

Once they had as much as they could carry, Nancy motioned for Alexandra to follow her. Outside of the Senate Building, she could hear a group of monsters nearby. It wasn't that shocking - New Rome had fallen, the Legion was in retreat, the monsters were claiming the city. It made strategic sense. Still, it didn't make it hurt any less, knowing that these monsters were destroying her home. "I've got this, stay close," she whispered to Alex. Her throat felt too scratchy for her power of song to work, so she had her daggers ready. She followed the sound before seeing a small crowd of monsters.

"Hey there, losers," Nancy taunted. She swiped with her daggers at one, only to miss. Her next few strikes weren't so unlucky though. She carved a safe path for them to escape through, killing six monsters in all. She checked to make sure that Alexandra was still with her as she rushed on through, her daggers out as if daring any more monsters to come near them.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: New Rome -> Argo III
Skills: Superspeed

"A little thank you for saving your life would be nice, Marygold," Leda said, shaking her head. "Also, it's rude to waste tea. Even if the city is burning down to the ground around us." She had mostly made the tea since she had been moving at that fast a speed anyways and she hadn't felt like slowing down just yet. To her, the world moved in slow motion at times - usually when she ran - so making tea before slowing down for everyone else's brains to catch up? It didn't make much of a difference in the long run, just a few seconds really.

She smirked when Kiera gave her a kiss on the cheek - clearly someone knew how to appreciate a rescue! The Roman god then came in, telling them all that they needed to leave and he'd stay behind. Leda wasn't worried about him. Gods were famously immortal after all. "Thanks, appreciate it," she told him earnestly, wanting to show respect anyways. She then grabbed Kiera and Mary and took off at a run, dodging projectiles and whatnot, and coming to a halt at the Argo III. "Ta-da, we know you have your choice in speedsters, so we'd like to thank you for running with us today."
