House Baratheon of Storm’s End

Ours is the Fury

House Description:

Their seat, Storm's End, is an ancient castle raised by the Storm Kings from the now-extinct House Durrandon. The youngest of the Great Houses of Westeros, it was created when Orys Baratheon, one of Aegon I Targaryen's generals, his closest companion, and his rumoured bastard half-brother, took Argella Durrandon, the only daughter of Argilac Durrandon, the last Storm King, to wife. Orys took the sigil and words of House Durrandon for his own and became the first Lord of Storm's End. Members of the family tend to be tall and powerfully built, with black hair and blue eyes, as well as strong, square jawlines. They are known for their mercurial tempers and characters.

Recent History:

Family Members:
  • Lord Ormund Baratheon (50), called the Thunderhead for his boisterous nature.
  • Lady Amarei Dondarrion, recently dead of a wasting illness.
    • Royce (31), named for his grandsire, the heir to Storm’s End.
      • Cyrenna Tarth, died in childbirth.
      • Gowen and Cyrenna (named for her mother), their young children
    • Orryn (29), recently returned from Essos. He was called Ornery Orryn in his youth by Royce.
    • Harlan (23) “Hotspur”, a dandy and real spendthrift, doubling down on the profligate and indulgent example of Lord Ormund. Harlan has a swordsman’s grace and a courtier’s wit, with the arrogance to inflate both. He is at times referred to as Hotspur due to his temper and nimbleness.
    • Argella (21), the youngest and most doted upon, the apple of Ormund’s eye.
  • Ser Balon (49), Lord Ormund’s brother, married to a lady of House Caron.
    • Lyonel (27, born AC 175) the Laughing Storm, a knight of renown so called because he has the habit of laughing loudly at his opponents. Beloved by the smallfolk. Nephew to the Lord Baratheon.

House Nymeros Martell of Sunspear

Born of the union between the Queen of the Rhoynar and the peoples of the Desert Coast, House Martell rules the tempestuous land of Dorne from their citadel of Sunspear. They have survived and prospered in the face of the unceasing heat of their homeland, the predations of Northern lords and even dragonfire.

They are Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.

Night's Watch

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

Order Description:
The Night's Watch have fallen from their once loft ambitions, once tens of thousands men stood upon the walls and stared out into the North waiting for the enemy to come. Many have forgotten the purpose and reason as to why the Night's Watch must stand but the magic in the wall, strange bundles of Dragonglass daggers found in their castles, and more tell another story. One the current Lord Commander intends to uncover to understand the history and work behind his seat.

Currently the Night's Watch stands at around three thousand five hundred men ready to fight and die to hold the wall against the Wildlings from beyond it. They know of other threats many do not believe in yet those who go beyond on the wall who listen to the Wildlings speak and the stories from the far north know. Ice Dragons, Giants, Ice Spiders, and perhaps even the Others are real... Yet for now the Wildlings are gathering, reports from Rangers say that the clans are fighting harder and allying together. For what reason who can say yet... They all know the world is a dangerous place and the one beyond the wall is like the one from the age of Heroes, men of the world not the dangers they are protected from.

Recent History:
The Night's Watch has recovered some strength since the Dance of the dragons and peace more law and order have as well as removal of schemers and traitors has helped to fill the ranks out. The North who has prospered over the last fifty years has had many sons and volunteers come forth to join the Crows. Though their glory days are long behind with this surge the Lord Commander has begun a new mission, learning more about what is beyond the wall and mapping it so future generations might know more.

The Rangers have greatly increased their numbers and more importantly the builders have used the extra man power to fortify Castle Black and the other fortresses with the intent to use the time well. They have expanded the navy of galleys as well, the Night's Watch wants to use it's limited time to prepare even scouring libraries and looking their old castles, they seek to know about the ancient brothers who came before. Of course their is even rumors of a ranging coming to look into a tale the wildlings have told for centuries of a horn that might bring down the wall.

The Brothers:

Lord Commander Willwyn Forrester

First Steward Gillan Flint

First Builder Harlwyle Ryswell

Eastwatch-By-The-Sea

House Description:
The eastern most castle along The Wall; from here The Nights Watch keeps a small fleet of galleys and lean fighting vessels to patrol for Wildlings and smugglers trading weapons across the wall.
It also serves as a port for the Night’s Watch with traders from the south, across the narrow sea and even beyond the wall bringing their wares here.

Recent History:
News reaches Eastwatch from ships across the world, but it’s eyes are ever pointed northwards. Wildlings are like to grow more desperate as winter approaches and thus more dangerous and there are whispers of a Raymun Redbeard calling himself The King Beyond The Wall. But there are always such rumours and for now they remain just that. In truth life at Eastwatch has been quieter these past few years, the role of it’s commander often shifting more to mercantile and acquiring goods for the watch.

House Tully of Riverrun

Family, Duty, Honor

House Description:

Recent History:

Lord Kermit ruled the Riverlands through the end of the Dance into general prosperity and peace, at least for the riverlands. While his bannermen held greater wealth or could call up more men, Kermit sought to bind them through marriage and respect. The quarrelsome Brackens and Blackwoods would remain a thorn in his side, yet with his own marriage and those of his children, he kept the peace even through the tumultuous reign of Aegon IV.

House Tully, though, has cracked beyond easy repair. Some smallfolk say it is a curse from the woman Ser Oscar left behind when he left for Essos. With the death of two sons, grandsons, and a son to take the black, House Tully was left to a man most unfit to rule. While Lord Kermit could have done more, perhaps, he was still a father with too much faith in his son. Naming Medgar as heir was perhaps Kermit’s greatest error in his long reign. Plenty pay lip service to their liege lord or peer, but few can claim to actually respect the man. Many hope, some in secret, some blatantly, that a young Ronnel inherits with his uncle Merrett as regent.

Family Members:

  • Lord Medgar Tully
  • Lady Rhialta Tully (nee Manderly)
  • Lady Ravella Tully
  • Ronnel Tully, a boy of 6 and heir to Riverrun
  • Ser Merrett the Mild, the youngest of Kermit's sons, currently at Stokeworth
  • Garth Rivers
