<Snipped quote by Memory>
I had no idea, maybe just be with the animals pass the door.
*Gazes at the barn with an unconvinced frown*
That'd just be cruel.
*Grabs a set of keys off the wall and overhand throws one at you*

<Snipped quote by Memory>
*catches it and looks at you with confusion*
I think I'll just hold my tongue till we see them then.
<Snipped quote by Extra>
*Grabs a helmet and jumps onto one of the ATVs*
Whatever you do, don't get lost.
<Snipped quote by Memory>
*takes a helmet and gets on the ATV, looking at it for a moment then turns it on*
I will try not to...
<Snipped quote by Chiliarchy>
I can take us there.
<Snipped quote by Spiritblitz>
*I look you up and down, eyes narrowed.*
…How?
<Snipped quote by Chiliarchy>
Well, first we gotta leave the lab, but I know of an access point that can lead us from the Cyber World to my home!
*smiles*
It’s like a rift or a door.
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
Ah, I seem to have made a mess of thi—
*A blood-curdling scream followed by an enormous explosion rings out behind the officers, and while the incident distracts them, I flip up the grate of the storm drain with surprising strength for my size, and slip inside*
We'll have to finish this next time.
*When they look for the explosion, its illusory source cannot be found*
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
*The officers scatter in search of the blast, giving you just enough time to slip into the storm drain without anyone noticing. However, you're then confronted with a different problem: you have no idea what the sewer system's layout is and how to get out of this district. It's possible that you could find a map down here, but time is of the essence; it's likely the Central Response Service will begin blocking off the sewers soon to prevent you from leaving the district.*
*Suddenly, something starts buzzing in your pocket. It's a flip phone, one you didn't have on your person before. Someone's calling you.*
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
Oh? How fascinating.
*Flips open the phone as I walk through one of the corridors at random*
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
*The voice that comes out is high, clearly feminine, and very, very angry.*
UNKNOWN: You're on the news; they're deploying CRS Counter-Terror to South Union, something about an active bioweapon in city limits. Vector, what the fuck did you do?
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
I said hello to a couple of officers. Frankly, I think they overreacted.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
UNKNOWN: I saw. You could've just said you were new and left it at that. You definitely didn't have to show them your arm.
*She sighs.*
UNKNOWN: I'm the person who's supposed to pick you up at the spaceport, but I don't know how the hell we're going to do that now. I'm going to direct you out of these sewers, and then we're going to figure out what on God's green Earth you're going to do next, because plan A's gonna go out the window if they get a bead on you in another district. Take the next right, by the way.
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
I'm unfamiliar with your customs, my apologies.
*Takes a right*
But lucky for us, I happen to be in perfect health. Did they capture an image of my face, by chance?
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
- I don't know. I don't think anybody but the guy you talked to would've had the chance, but you definitely need to change clothes. Insurrectionists like to keep caches down here; see if you find a symbol on the walls, something like an eye with an X over it. It might have something to change into. Second on the left, by the way.
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
Strange question, but do you happen to know if there's any kind of a slum nearby? Somewhere with injured people.
*Skips the first corridor and turns left at the second, looking for distinctive marks across the sewers*
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
- Head south, about half a mile. You'll get towards the southern fringe; it still gets fallout from Washington DC now and then, so it's a bit of a shithole. It's not radioactive enough to kill you, but, uh, wouldn't wanna live there for years on end.
*At some point along the journey south, you do actually find one of those caches marked with the symbol. It's been ransacked, and anything of value has been taken, but there's a pair of jeans, an old jacket, and a faded, threadbare T-shirt with the logo of some band's 2196 tour on it. It'll probably fit in where you're going.*
- What do you need injured people for?
<Snipped quote by Tank O The Lake>
Just a little bit of insurance for our upcoming trip. Nothing high-profile, I assure you.
*Changes into the clothes, my arm miraculously and visibly healed when I put on the t shirt, and I start south*
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
*Eventually, the voice directs you to surface, and you emerge in the midst of what looks like a lot of public housing. It's all very dilapidated, erected from prefab panels and cheap concrete; it's a far cry from the sleek city of tomorrow just a few minutes' walk north. The people here... well, almost no one's here right now, but the few who are wear notably less trendy clothing, and seem even less willing to talk. There's no sign of police, however; you can see their shuttles still swarming around where you were last seen, but they don't seem to have clocked that you left quite yet.*
*You get what you're searching for, in the form of a disheveled old man sitting propped up against a wall. He's very clearly homeless; his clothes are ratty and torn, his skin dirty and leathery. He's coughing up a lung; whenever it seems like he'll recover long enough to take a breath, he descends into another bout of coughing. Bloody spittle collects on his chin. He's not long for this world.*
