Location: Millennia Park
Interactions: Sarah Marie King & Taiwu (@IAmTheIsland)

Kenzo smiled at Sarah's understanding, "Alright, I'll quit it." Just as he went close to her, he noticed the blue dragons' car driving by, the window rolling down, and Taiwu said something to her. Kenzo already wanted to punch his face since minute one, yet Kenzo kept his cool; he shouldn't compromise his identity, at least not this time. And for better or for worse, he shouldn't mess with him, being one of the strongest Blue Dragon Members.

When Taiwu rolled down his window, Kenzo followed Sarah. He gave a small side glance at the car, and then he gave a little joke, "You know what I think that guy wants? He wants to steal the noodle shop, so the blue dragons actually own good food sites..." He giggled, realizing the silliness of his own joke, all while trying to keep on with Sarah, "Wow, you got some quick legs, huh?"

Location: Delgato HQ - Study

Eying the curiosity of his seemingly gloved hand, Keyrs wondered what it would feel like had she not had on her own gloves.

"Quite so." She responded to his spoken thoughts on conflict as it pertained to the mission;
first impression of this man proving satisfactory so far.

'Shadow-suit?' Keyrs eyed his hand again. 'So that's what's going on there.'

"Capital idea," Keyrs said in agreement of acquainting each other with their respective abilities. While she'd brought the hand she'd shaken with back up to chest level, and flexed her fingers briefly into a fist as though stretching ahead of a demonstration, Keyrs then only spread her fingers towards him in an 'after you' gesture.

Which she was just about to verbalize as well, when Anthony spoke first.

Keyrs gave her attention that way even though the address was to Ainsley. The thought connecting to her own action still going through her mind: 'I can't be revealing all my tricks if you're to shroud some of yours.' She wanted to see what Ainsley could do first to judge whether he has keeping some cards close to his vest. She likely would do of her own regardless, but still; looking ahead of leaping was often the shrewder action to take.

Keyrs would've turned her attention back to Ainsley and expressed how it would appear they were to learn each others' abilities while enroute -given the appearance of their escort- however Ainsley was already ahead of her; literally. He'd read the room as she had and wasn't about to put the breaks on the job unnecessarily in the name of familiarizing. Her positive impression of him remained.

Keyrs indeed fell into step with the two men even as she observed Ainsley's shadow play demonstration. "Exceedingly useful." Keyrs' mind was already working with the potential such powers brought to the table. Though she shifted it in service to her own - hoping in the back of her mind she could be as succinct in description and demo as he had. It was never one of her talents - ohhh the reports and simple correspondence with which she'd had to contend back at Veridian, and the inordinate amount of time that took from her life.

"In a way similarly, I can discharge hard light discs from my gloves-" - she did so into her other hand so as not to have some ricochet incident take out their guide or some such. The manslaughter of earlier still fresh in her mind. Thank Paragon she hadn't killed the son of the Delgatos in that slip-up. "-which loses form shortly after inactivity to remove any trace." She'd kept her hand with the disc held out towards Ainsley so he could see it vanish before their eyes about 10 seconds after Keyrs had launched it.

Lowering that hand, though bringing her other up in reference to her helmet, Keyrs added: "I also have various software installed in my helmet. I can scan for vital signs, electromagnetic signatures, the trigonometry of the room. Those sorts of things. Which represents only my present capabilities. I was working on laser sights, though my day took a turn in activity." 'Shut it! He doesn't need to know about what you presently don't have.' Keyrs mentally sighed. "My boots also act as grounds,", she went along smoothly, as though she weren't also having a conversation with herself, "I could walk on live wires and be impervious to the voltage."

The robotic suit looked back at the teenager, as if it was considering the offer. What place could she possibly know of? She was simply a student. Was Madalyne going to suggest her parents' garage? Her school dormitory? You couldn't hide a towering exosuit there, much less an entire base of operations. But Nancy was out of options, and she did need to move. The Delgatos were bound to show up again once they learned their scouts were arrested. And while Nancy would've loved to give them a piece of her mind as well, now was an opportunity to retreat and lick her wounds.

"It'll take time," Nancy explained to Madalyne. She was in no condition to move just yet. "This building contains irreplaceable equipment I need to continue operating. Leaving it behind is out of the question."

Her sensors began to pick up radio chatter, alerting her to police presence. It would only be a matter of time before they would arrive to pick up the captured Delgato crooks.

"Once police take the Delgatos into their custody," She turned her attention back to the criminals whom were now relived that they weren't going to be vaporized. "Then I'll begin packing. I just hope whatever you have in mind is worth it."

@Master EffeX@TruckKun Their guide mad his way towards the elevator when they heard a voice. "Wait up i'm coming with." Steffan would say as he approached the pair giving them a slight smile as their guide shook his head slightly as he called the elevator up to their floor. "Heading to the stadium?" Steffan asked the two of them, it didn't take to long as the elevator came up to their floor and it opened up. "Didn't your dad want to talk to you about what happened Steffan?" The guy asked, which Steffan gave a slight shrug. "He can talk to me about it later, besides this is more important anyway." Steffan said as they entered the elevator, and their guide pressed the button for the garage. Once they were there the guide went towards a nearby SUV getting in awaiting for the rest of the group to join him as Steffan took up the front passenger seat.

@IAmTheIsland "Surprised that you didn't want to pick that fight with her." Xiao said as he tapped the driver in the shoulder, as he gave a slight nod and started to drive. Making their way towards another side street not to far away from the Lucky Noodle where they could recruit some kids to terrorize the store. He spotted a group of kids around the age of eighteen and twenty just talking, they looked slightly desperate as well to wanting to make some quick money. He got out of the car and headed for the trunk pulling out a bag contaning some money gesturing for Taiwu to join him.

@IAmTheIsland@Skelm@Silver Carrot@Tally Dor "Alright then. I'll see you whenever I get back from university." Ashley said looking at them for a moment before she turned and started to leave the Lucky Noodle behind closing the door behind her. She looked once more through the storefront window before heading back to her apartment nearby. The Weeping would be able to feel a cold presence most likely Amara that only The Weeping would be able to feel as if she was listening in on the conversation, before it went away completely.

@McNephelim@IAmTheIsland The pendant that Sarah had would continue to glow and pointed eastward towards the Financial District, there was a bus stop with a direct route there, the public transit bus came to a stop just in time opening the door to unload its passengers and another group who was waiting started to board the bus now as well to. This particular bus route would run once every thirty minutes or so, as the bus driver noticed them. "Are you guys coming in?" He asked them as the last of the people who were getting off were leaving.

Madalyne nodded as she waited for a little bit, before she could hear what sounded like police sirens, and a few seconds later four PCPD officers entered the warehouse. "Well damn saw you at the bank earlier." One of the officers said looking over at Zero-Zero giving the mech suit a friendly nod as the officers companions started to lift up the Delgatos up and cuffed them up. "We'll take them from here thank you." The officer said as they started to leave, once the officers were gone Madalyne looked over at Nancy.

"If you want I can give you my number and text you where to meet up later, I need to get back to school anyway." She said as she looked at Nancy and the equipment that she had laying about. "Or I can swing back here after class and show you where it is that way." She offered whatever Nancy decided to do.

Diana Smith

Location: Veridian Technologies, Nighthaven, Paragon City

Diana turned around and leaned herself up against the window looking over at KT and gave her a slight smile. "Gotta get you a fancy looking suit then if you want in on the side business, i'm sure Wolfe would be willing to help out with that." Diana said as she thought for a bit, more on what the Deputy Director said as she ran a hand through her hair and sighed slightly. "I guess we could help him make some dossiers of potential recruits for his little team, it'll take time but we do have a lot of security cameras and projects around the city i'm sure they picked up some people dealing with crime around the city." Diana suggested.

She still had some business to do with the Delgatos especially with Anthony and his debate tonight. "We still have that little infiltration mission at the Delgato's HQ tonight while he is at the debate that we need to prepare for." Diana said, it was the perfect chance to get some dirt on him while most of his people were out while leaving a few grunts to overlook their home.

Millenia Park; with Kenzo Yamamoto

@McNephelim

While her legs carried the rest of her forward across the Park, Sarah’s mind lagged behind her. She hung on Taiwu’s words: The Old Man won’t have your back forever, the Dragon’s words echoed in her head. Was it actually a threat on Shimazu’s life? Or was an ‘enemy’ dispensing genuine wisdom for her to consider? What was to stop Taiwu and Xiao Feng from dropping in on the Lucky Noodle while it was still in shambles from the monster’s attack? Would the Detective still be there when they arrived? He seemed capable of deescalating tensions, and he’d carry the weight of the police, which, trouble as they were in their own right, counted for something when they were on a person’s side. Maybe there’d at least be a watch on the restaurant, given everything that had happened there. Still, Sarah’s pace stuttered as she considered abandoning her search for Maddie to see to it that her Sensei and the Lucky Noodle were kept safe.

Just as she started to break step to turn back, Kenzo spoke up.

For a fleeting second something akin to a genuine smile found itself occupying Sarah’s face. She pushed out a single, hearty “HA!” from her chest. “Now that would be something,” she said. “The Mighty Xiao Feng, owns three quarters of Little Asia but still can’t get a good meal.” Still smiling, she shook her head. “Nah.” She stopped for a second, sneaking a look at the amulet, which still pointed across the Park. “Shimazu’s block is the last piece of Little Asia that hasn’t fully fallen in with The Blue Dragons,” she explained. “He explained it to me a while back, Shimazu, that is. Xiao Feng wants complete control over his corner of the city; something about making the Asian district a ‘monolithic whole,’’ whatever that means.”

She shook her head a second time. “But it’s all bad news.” She lowered her voice before continuing: “having to pay protection money to The Blue Dragons isn’t the kind of unity anyone needs. Same goes with 70th Street.”

Before long, the pair had reached the edge of the park, and begun crossing through Riverside. With more cover off alleyways, obstacles, and uncaring bodies keeping prying eyes away, Sarah stole periodic glances to the amulet, which even still, pointed her and Kenzo further East. As they passed by the area of the Millenia Dome, she noticed the growing mass of people around the stadium; she wondered if there was a game on that evening, vaguely recalling attending High School with one of the Knights’ running backs.

Arriving at the last bus station before the bridge to the Financial District, Sarah checked the amulet again. “Still going East,” she said, tucking the amulet back into her pocket. “Looks like we’re in for more of a trip than we thought.” A bus pulled up to the stop, the LED sign in its front window displaying a location across the bridge as its next destination. The doors pulled open, with a few people getting off, and leaving the driver looking down at Sarah and Kenzo. “Yeah,” Sarah said, pulling out and swiping a seldom-used bus pass as she boarded. At the top of the steps, she wheeled around and faced her companion. “One way or the other, this is the point of no return.” She turned back and found herself a seat close to the front, and sat stretched to save the seat next to her should Kenzo decide to continue on with her.

@Nallore

As Sarah continued her way across the Park, ruminating over what Taiwu had said, Taiwu’s train of thought ran along similar tracks.

As the girl and her companion fell out of view of the car’s mirrors, he wondered whether or not his intuition had been correct. Was Shimazu in good company? Enough so that he and Xiao Feng would be best off staying away from the Old Man for the time being? The owner of the Lucky Noodle did have his history with the city’s Police Department, and a few contacts with the Department of Superhuman Affairs that likely remained in place. While Taiwu wouldn’t have flinched over scorching a few officers, he knew so much that Xiao Feng preferred to keep his business as far off from police involvement as possible. But if Shimazu was actually alone, then he [Taiwu] and Xiao Feng could simply walk into the restaurant and strong-arm him into paying the protection; as surely as he wouldn’t always be there for the girl, she wouldn’t always be there to back him up either; who would cover him and his establishment should she decide to take her powers elsewhere?

Taiwu was only pulled from his own mind at the intrusion of Xiao Feng. “Too many witnesses,” he replied coldly on his refusal to fight her then and there. “The 70th Street lot wasn't far off; plus DSHA and Town Hall.” He peered back in the rearview mirror, where now the park itself had been obscured by the clutter of buildings in Mapleview. “I want our fight to be one without interference. No help from her friends. No random do-gooders trying to step into things that don’t involve them. And most of all, no police or DSHA agents to break it up. A proper one-on-one battle. Nothing short of that will suffice.”

The car rolled to a stop near a huddle of scrappy-looking young adults. As Taiwu followed Xiao Feng to the trunk of the car, he sized the kids up; they looked like the sort to do just about anything for the right price. “If you’re looking for a pay day,” he said to the group, “we’ve got a proposition.” He stepped aside to allow them to see the bag of money being offered. “If you want this, rough up the Lucky Noodle; give its owner a good scare.” He stepped in closer, presenting them with an ornate knife from off of his belt. “And for a bonus,” he said quietly, “the owner, Shimazu, has a lapdog. Her name is Sarah. Bring me back this knife with her blood on it and I’ll personally pay extra; we can negotiate the price should you complete the task.”

“Fancy suit?” KT’s eyebrow raised.

“If you decide to work out in the field you’ll want something that will conceal your identity,” Wolfe said. “That and protect you if you have to fight.”

“I’m not sure I’m much of a fighter.”

“We can teach you a few tricks. For now, you can support Artemis from behind the scenes.” Wolfe looked at Diana. “I know you’ve been set on tonight,” he said, hinting an apologetic tone. “But given today’s events, you may want to reconsider. Security may be tighter than our intel has shown. It’s likely they’ll be expecting something. But if you’re set on following through, we should at least do another round of recon.”

“So the Delgato guy is running for mayor?” KT asked in surprise. “Isn’t like, a bigtime mob boss?”

“He keeps his enterprise well enough under the table to save his public image. Buying out the police helps too.”

“But,” KT thought out loud, “if we can find a trail linking that lady to him--”

“I know what you’re about to say, and I agree.” Wolfe interjected. “But it’s not likely that he’ll have left a trail. Anthony cleans up his loose ends better than anyone else in his business. Not to say it wouldn’t be worth checking.”

“What if I testified?” KT mused hopefully.

Wolfe shook his head. “Unfortunately, there are legal blocks on that. Convincing a whole jury of the authenticity of your powers aside, the DSHA has clear laws in place to limit the extent to which psychic abilities can be leveraged in court. Our best course of action is to allow a proper investigation to unfold. For now, Ms. Tran, focus on the Artemis mission.”

Kenzo quietly listened to Sarah's explanation of the sheer power of the blue dragons, but Kenzo already knew that, quite well in fact, but it was great to know that he wasn't the only one with proper info about the blue dragons. "I've fought them sometimes; most of their numbers are just some yakuza-wannabes, easily beatable with a good punch in the nose. It's the 'tough dogs' who we should really care about. Taiwu, I give a 50/50 that he can actually beat me."

Kenzo followed her to the bus. He looked at her as she gave him the last choice. "Point of no return, huh? Alright, I'm all-free for today, so let's better buckle up." Kenzo gave a little jump and landed next to her. Smiling viciously, ready for whatever could be thrown at him. "Let's kick some monster ass."

Keyrs would be dishonest if she'd acted like the sudden addition to their party was unwelcome. Though, the positivity of her response was measured. "The walls must have ears," she commented lightly to his question on where they were headed.

Ainsley's question to Steffan prompted a mild look from Keyrs that plainly conveyed 'don't think the man can make his own choices about his life?'
Who was Ainsley to police the son of his employer, anyway?

If circumstances were different - if she weren't a grown adult professional heading to do serious things - Keyrs may've given a "right on!" and a high five to Steffan's decision of importance. Major though this assignment was, it did also hold a level of excitement. Do or die, probably literally. Though Keyrs would do all in her power to avoid that potential outcome on failure.

Back to the now, a question came into Keyrs' head regarding Steffan's presence. She voiced it as she slid into the backseat of the car, behind the driver. "So what will your participation be, Steffan? Are we about to find out your hidden talents?"

Nancy acknowledged the officers; one of which had recognized her from before during the bank assault.

"I suppose I have a habit of getting myself into trouble." Nancy mused, as the officer thanked them while they took the Delgatos into their custody. "They'll probably be back. I suggest keeping more patrols in the area, at least for awhile. Their boss wanted them to set up this construction site as a place of operations."

Once the police left, Nancy then turned her attention back to the teenager. Madalyne seemed less worried about helping her pack and more focused on her classes. Perhaps it was a good thing, Nancy figured. She didn't particularly feel keen to have her rooting around in her things. Spare parts, important data—Nancy didn't need her breaking something that she needed.

"Your number will be fine. Zero-Zero will record in its communication logs." Nancy explained. A robotic arm motioned towards a desk set-up, wherein a console and other expensive-looking electronics sat. "Enter it in there. It'll link to the mainframe once you do."

Julia listened to The Weeping's explaination. Her anger, though not fading, was able to be put to one side so she could take in everything that she was hearing. He'd lost Maddie. Maddie had also managed to affect the demons inside The Weeping's head. Somebody called 'Amara of the Void' was angry at THe Weeping, was after Maddie, and had been the one to orchestrate all of this. Julia had never heard of her,or of 'The Void'. They definitely weren't around when Julia was taken in.

He also said something to Ken, which had a curious effect on the old chef. Another detail to stick a pin in. Julia hadn't bothered asking either of the questions Ken did. If The Weeping knew where to find Maddie, he wouldn't have come here first. Besides, Maddie chose to act like a Hero. Julia no longer felt her main mission was to protect her from this life. She did want to hold a conversation with her at some point but the new priority was Amara.

"If we agree to help, and that's a big if, how can we help? Is Amara looking for you right now?

It was about seven in the evening and the sun was slowly starting to set over Paragon City, nightlife in the city was usually where most of the criminals came out to play during the evenings and where shadowy deals were done in the alleyways as well to in the seedier sides of the city. Tonight was debate night for Paragon City's Mayoral race between Anthony Delgato and Paragon City council woman Tara Farrel over at the Millennial Dome where most events in Paragon City was played between local sports games, to music concerts and other special events within the city.

The debate was set to start at Eight Thirty in the evening and the candidates were heading over to the Millennial Dome now as well to. Anthony Delgato had left a number of his henchmen back to guard his interests in the penthouse suite and were quietly patrolling the building as well to.

Over in Little Asia Xiao Feng was doing the final preparations for the little attack on the Lucky Noodle five blocks away from the noodle shop. He provided a few basic weapons to the kids he hired and paid them half of the money upfront earlier already he leaned up against the car looking at the kids who were now wearing 70th Street gang colors. "Remember just roughen up the store, and when you finish up you return here and you get the rest of your money." Xiao Feng said looking at the group of kids as they nodded and started to cover their faces, making their way towards the Lucky Noodle.

Madalyne had gotten home and tried to explain to her parents what had happened earlier in the day, they were understandably a little bit worried and wanted to make sure that she was okay. She managed to calm them down and reassured them that she was okay as Madalyne grabbed her bookbag and coat she told them that she was going to be heading to a friends house to do a study group for an upcoming test for one of her classes. "I'll be by ten and i'll text you every hour." Madalyne said looking at her parents who nodded slightly. "Alright ten and no later than that, and we call the police to find you." Madalyne's father said as she nodded slightly. "Don't worry i'll be home by then." Madalyne said as she headed out of her house and down the sidewalk.

Madalyne quietly wandered over towards an empty abandoned park in Nighthaven, the playground equipment has seen better days and was rusted and worn down. She wandered over towards a nearby bench and sat down pulling out her phone, she had texted Nancy her number and also gave her current location over to Nancy where they were going to meet and quietly waited for her to appear.

Diana had teleported herself to an alleyway near the Delgato's HQ, she knew that Anthony had set up a few things to prevent her from teleporting directly into the building during her last encounter with him. She had a few fancy trick arrows as well as a grapple arrow to get her to higher locations which she managed to do. Diana landed on the rooftop, there wasn't anyone guarding the rooftop as she quietly walked over towards a glass window looking down. She noticed a few guards were patrolling but they didn't spot her just yet as Diana took a step back going to her private channel.

"Alright i'm in position you guys." Diana said as she moved towards a small panel pulling it off and plugged in a wireless device into an open port. "Alright you should be able to hack into some of the buildings systems, just give me the signal to break inside." Diana said over the radio looking around for a moment she didn't see anyone appear yet they had gone over the plan a few times over the last few hours the target was Steffan's computers he appeared to be the sloppy one, and then hit the main mainframe afterwards to get anything else that could be useful.

The day trudged onward. From the busway, to the streets and back alleys of the Financial District, Sarah and Kenzo had navigated their way through the city. It was surprisingly uneventful. There was a buzz of police activity in and around one of the larger banks, where something had left a gaping hole in the side of the building earlier that day; likely a robbery, given the talk that Sarah had overheard as they passed by the police line. Sarah’s lips had curled into a subtle smirk at the thought of the upper crust panicking over their offshore accounts, stock options, and hedge funds… as if the banks wouldn’t get a bailout to recoup their losses.

Other than a brush with some low-run Delgato runners that were convinced that Kenzo was a Blue Dragon cutting into their territory, the pair met little resistance. They shrugged off the Delgatos with ease, and minimal aggression, opting to throw them off and run for it when they didn’t buy that neither of them were aligned with Xiao Feng.

The amulet eventually led them to Maddie as she was making her way from the financial district to her home in Nighthaven. Only once Sarah had loosened her friend from a tight bear hug did she fill them in on what had transpired. Though Sarah had insisted on staying with Maddie, she was assured it would be fine, and that she could go back to Shimazu. Confident in her friend’s safety, and concerned by Taiwu’s comments from earlier, Sarah boarded the next bus back to Little Asia…

The bus arrived at the first Little Asia stop around 6:45PM. The afternoon had drifted into evening, with Sarah being too focused on her own intentions to register the fact that dusk was beginning to set upon the city. She deboarded the bus, inviting Kenzo to come with her to the Lucky Noodle; the shop wouldn’t be open for normal business given the day’s events, but Shimazu would happily prepare a meal for the three of them at his own expense. It had become something of a tradition for Sarah and Shimazu to sit down to a light meal after the restaurant had closed each night, to enjoy the solitude and reflect, and partake in deeper conversation topics. Sarah knew she had plenty to say to her Sensei, and plenty more to ask after what had happened that morning.

On top of that, her instincts told her she needed to be with him on this night.

Her feet met the concrete of the sidewalk and she resumed a brisk walking pace, retracing her earlier steps through the alleyways to the back door of the Lucky Noodle. She grabbed the handle and pulled the door open; Shimazu had left it unlocked, clearly anticipating her return.

“Had a fun afternoon, I'll take it?” Shimazu’s voice carried into the backroom from the kitchen as soon as Sarah entered.

“If you want to call it that,” Sarah replied. She entered the kitchen, where Shimazu was busy sorting away freshly washed dishes and silverware.

“But you found Maddie? Yes?”

“Yeah. She ended up in the Financial District. We were almost into Nighthaven by the time we caught up with her though.”

“Good to know that she’s safe and unharmed.” Shimazu set the last bowl away, and turned towards Sarah, reading as a mixture of relief and disappointment. “And you best be grateful to know that I was able to smooth over your, we’ll say, ducking out, with Detective Donahue.”

“Oh…” Sarah’s head slumped down; she had forgotten about the whole investigation once they had crossed the bridge. “Sorry, Sensei. I--.”

Shimazu raised a hand, cutting Sarah off immediately. “Don’t worry about it. But don’t be surprised if the Detective comes around to speak with you.”

“About Maddie? The weird monster guy? The Blue Dragons?”

“And more over you.”

“Me? What about me?”

“Well of course I told him about you. The two of you have plenty to connect over; on the matter of untapped potential.” Shimazu lowered his hand, and removed his apron, draping it over a nearby rack. “But that’s enough on that. It’s been a long day. I’m sure you’ve worked up an appetite. And I see you’ve brought back a guest.”

Sarah’s stomach churned, reminding her that she hadn’t properly eaten since she had had breakfast that morning. “Yeah. Kenzo helped me find Maddie. We… I mean… I owe him the hospitality in return.”

“He is very much welcome to dine with us this evening, if he wishes.”

“Check. Check. Your comms are clear, Ms. Tran?” Wolfe’s voice called through the sleek, black headset. He sat in the driver’s seat of an unmarked transit van, driving rounds through the Financial District. Periodically his eyes shifted to the sideview mirrors, checking for any concerning activity behind them. But the early evening hours had brought nothing worth raising an alarm. So much as he had impressed on the importance of aborting the night’s mission, Diana had been as firm and stubborn as ever, citing the preparations they had already done, and not wanting to waste the time and energy already spent; he was at least able to convince her to keep his end of the operation mobile.

“Yeah. I’ve got ears.” KT sat in the back of the van; around her stood a hastily rigged set of monitors wired into the van’s power supply, emulating the set up they had at Veridian as best the trio could on short notice. Running off of an advanced VPN, they had successfully connected with the transmitter that Artemis had placed at the Delgato estate. The technology practically did the work itself, and with a short set of keystrokes, KT had access to a series of security cameras located in the corridors of the mansion. “I’ve got visual on the hallways… but if you decide to bust down any doors, you’ll have to go in blind for now.”

“Tony likely doesn’t keep everything on such an open network,” Wolfe said. The Van turned a steady right into a commuter parking lot where Wolfe backed it into a space backed up by the outer wall of a building; better for not getting jumped from behind. His eyes moved rapidly across the LED-lit parking area. “Anything watching valuables won’t be wired into an Internet connection.”

“Alright,” KT chimed in. “I think I got it right, Wolfe. Whoever’s watching the hallways cameras should just be getting some video loop…”

“Procede with caution, Artemis.”

Kenzo's eyebrows rose once he heard Ken's invitation. He tapped his chin thoughtfully.

"Y'know, Old Man, I would most certainly go for a dinner with you and Miss Sarah (wink wink), but I have some things to do, y'know, my work doesn't give me too much time for these sort of thing..." He explained as he began to walk backwards towards the door.

He'd then turn towards the door. "But, if the tides turn once again here, don't doubt I'll come here to fight for it, and perhaps also for the hell of a chicken you bake." He would wink as he exited the place, giving an aura of mystery around him.

It immediately shattered once he ran back inside, rubbing his stomach and panting lightly. "On a better note... I'm pretty hungry, so... What's for dinner?" He gave a silly little smile.

At a point in the drive, Keyrs would've appeared inattentive to those in the vehicle with her. Her awareness had shifted to her headgear --rather, what it was informing her of.

"Hold the phone. Possibility of a misdirect here," she now spoke up. "It would appear your systems are being invaded." Keyrs didn't bother to explain how she knew this -having remotely set up a connection to the network before leaving, granting her no deep access but certain awareness and surface-level remote control- she simply followed up with such. "Alarms and system lockdown have been initiated." On second thought, Keyrs composedly added, "though I could reverse that. Make it appear as a blip if it may be more valuable to see what they might be after? If it's anything physical I may not have eyes, but digitally I should be able to unobtrusively keep up with them." She hoped she wouldn't be eating her words.

Or be given a strike for touching the systems without authorization, even all things considered. It was a delicate evaluation to take the "forgiveness later" route here rather than the "permission first".

It was now late into the evening. Nancy had spent much of the day packing her belongings, having bound everything to Zero-Zero's back. The exosuit could handle the extra weight, even if it needed to be as delicate as possible. Still, it was annoying to move everything. Just when she had thought she had found somewhere perfect to call home, even if it was a dingy, forgotten construction site, it was quickly snatched away from her. Her plans would have to be put on pause for the time being until Nancy could finally set up wherever this "place" was that Madalyne had spoken of prior in the day.

Buzz!

Speaking of her.

Nancy opened the communication log, the bright orange light flashing across the helmet's interior screen. She looked over the messages, shaking her head. Nighthaven. Great. As if the Delgatos weren't enough, Madalyne wanted her to set up shop in Nighthaven wherein the Void resided. The Delgatos had guns, but the Void, at least from what Nancy had known, were a bunch of magical weirdos slinging curses and other spells. But whatever choice did she have? The Delgatos knew about the construction site, and they were bound to poke around some more once they realize their men were missing. Nancy have to take the offer regardless if she wanted to or not.

"I'll be there soon." Nancy replied through the neurolink that connected her to Zero-Zero's mainframe. With a powerful leap, Zero-Zero took the streets again and headed towards Nighthaven. "Keep an eye out."

Oliver decides that silence is prudent, and also doesn't see the need to talk instead he thinks about possible locations for both offense and defense for Mr.Delgato, it all depends on the specifics of the stadium, but there are some definite possibilities, an easy one is the on ramp/the stairway into the stadium, someone fires, then turns and runs. Olliver decides that it is fine if he bends Mr.Delgato's rules a little bit, as no-one besides those in the car will see. So he puts his legs through the shadow on the floor of the car, allowing them to stretch out, and not get cramped, as they make their way to the stadium

The Weeping

Location: Building beside the Millennial Dome, Paragon City
@Nallore
Skills used: Host of Many

The Weeping had entertained the trio and their barrage of questions. Though it was probably safe to say most of the questions were not answered as well as any would have liked as The Weeping was largely unaware of most things pertaining to himself. A consciousness that had awoken mere weeks ago was still learning in a sense. A corpse that was fueled by negative emotions with the bulk of it was aimed at one crime family in particular.

He had just finished replying to a question that Steven had asked him when his orange eyes narrowed onto a brochure on a nearby table. The headline caught his attention. Or rather a name.

Delgato.

He wished them all well before vanishing saying he business to attend to but wished to meet up with them all later if he survived. A warning hung in the air to not judge him to harshly, but he did not elaborate further.

----------------------------

The Weeping rested curled up on a fetal position with his hands tightly grasping his back. He had found himself an alcove on the tallest building next to the Millennial Dome. He had unleashed a handful of spirits earlier that were spread throughout the inside of the building as well as the outside. His silent invisible eyes and ears.

As the Delgato's limo came into view The Weeping felt all the normally calm spirits within him begin to writhe and squirm. He frowned as his brow furrowed as he tightened his grip onto his body. He could feel his skin stretching, his muscles twitching, as his body fought itself to not be torn apart in the chaos. Imprints of faces and hands pressing from inside against his skin as they tried to seek release to attack what they deemed the source of their unrest.

The spirits were screaming and The Weeping could begin to feel himself sweat as he struggled to keep the sentinel's stationary pleading with them that they lacked any physical ability to do anything to the man. His claws extending from his fingers and drawing lines of blood on his back as the pain helped him focus. The threat of loss of control of the mass of spirits wasn't what truly terrified him. He could feel it. The darkness at the edge of his mind.

It was moving.

He could feel her.

The presence.

Then like a bucket of water poured over a flame. There was silence. The spirits ceased. The voices stilled. The Weeping felt like he was hugged by a warm blanket. It was then that he heard the words. Soft like silk. Sweet like poisoned honey. He could even feel tender fingers caressing his cheek.

"REST...."

Nigel made an attempt to bat the hand away, but the swing was far too short and feeble like trying to swing underwater. After the initial struggle he grew still. As Nigel slept The Weeping rose to his full height as an animalistic grin split his face from ear to ear. Its eyes locked onto the moving target. He would not leave this dome, then the rest of his empire would come crumbling down.

@Master EffeX@TruckKun Anthony looked at Keyrs for a moment when she mentioned that there was someone back at his penthouse, he didn't make any real indication if he was worried or not, before speaking. "Lockdown the building, and observe through the cameras if they access any computers lock them out." Anthony said, as he thought about who it was, and quickly came up with the only person he know who had a major grudge against him which was Artemis. He turned towards Oliver, as much as he prefered to keep him as personal security he didn't want anyone to steal information from him.

"Oliver, go back to the penthouse and take care of whoever is there. I'll make sure to allow you to use your powers inside to get around quickly." He told him, as he took out a small tablet nearby to allow Oliver to shadowtravel to the building with ease. Their limo came to a stop at the Millenium Dome. A member of his security detail got up and opened the door for him as he got up and started to approach the reporters and shake some hands of some of his constituents who came to see him. He started to take the time and answer a few questions from the reporters while smiling as he talked to them briefly before entering the building itself. Over on the building that the Weeping had appeared in overlooking the Millenium Dome a spirit would appear near him gesturing to the limo that Anthony Delgato and his party were as he got out of the car to talk to some of the press and entering the building itself.

@IAmTheIsland@McNephelim They three of them would hear the front door open, if any of them took the moment to look out into the main dining room they would see a small group of kids wearing 70th Street Gang shirt colors there were around ten of them five went to take a seat, some of them even propped their feet onto the tables. "Yo we'd like something to eat." The leader of the group said, some of them they could see were holding bats and crowbars as well to, they looked like they were hungry and they also were here to start up some trouble in the Lucky Noodle.

Madalyne Crane

Location: Small Park Within Nighthaven.
Skills: N/A

Madalyne was glad to find that Sarah had found her earlier in the day and told her that she was fine, and told her what had happened when Sarah had found her and had told here she would contact her if something ended up coming after her once again.

Madalyne looked down at her phone seeing that it was a text from Nancy and replied her with a thumbs up emoji as Madalyne sat waiting quietly as she looked around, there were a few people going on about their evening a few joggers could be seen as Madalyne gave them a friendly smile and nod. She took out her phone again getting a text from her mother, she rolled her eyes slightly and sighed as Madalyne replied back giving her an update on her whereabouts.

The part was pretty much clear now when she heard the sound of jets flying nearby and spotted Nancy's fancy mech suit in the distance and stood up, giving her a wave letting Nancy know where she was.

Diana Smith

Location: Delgato's Penthouse Roof Top, Financial District, Paragon City
Skills: N/A

"Yeah One Eyed Tony wouldn't have his closely guarded secrets on a laptop or anything like that, it would be on a secured server." Diana said as she stood up and stretched slightly, she wasn't able to teleport around the place. The last time she had tried to take him out, she failed and used everything he could to negate someone from simply teleporting into his own HQ. "Aren't I always careful?" Diana said over the radio jokingly as she used a tool and cut a way through the window and jumped into the building, quietly landing into the reception area.

Then suddenly a series of redlights started to go off, and shudders started to quickly go down over the entire building started to go into lockdown mode. "Well shit, something triggered the lockdown." Diana said as she drew out her bow quickly going for cover nearby as a few guards started to round the corner they were on alert now as they looked around the room while talking amongst themselves.

Location: Nighthaven, Paragon City

A red blur travelled throughout the city, maneuvering from street to street. It didn't take long to get to Nighthaven, especially this late in the day. Less traffic, less people; the city ready to wind down for the evening. Still, Nighthaven was unfamiliar territory. Even if there were less people on the streets, Nancy had no idea what was ahead. She would have to keep her head on a swivel during her time here, lest the Void or any other criminal attempt to take her by surprise.

Before long, an old park appeared on the horizon. Nancy could see Madalyne waving at her from down below. Maneuvering Zero-Zero towards the ground, she landed the red suit with heavy thud next to the teenager.

"Is this it?" The robotic voice amplifier within Zero-Zero asked Madalyne out loud. Its neck servos swiveled as Nancy looked around the park. She struggled to see how this could be considered a suitable replacement. "Surely this place has some actual facilities for me to use. I'm not spending my days living in a jungle gym."

Sarah King | Ken Shimazu

The Lucky Noodle - Little Asia; with Kenzo Yamamoto & Ensemble
Abilities Used:
Chi Projection
@McNephelim, @Nallore

Sarah and Shimazu stood with awkward gazes glazed upon their faces. Two pairs of eyes trailed Kenzo as he exited the kitchen and left the restaurant. In sync with the closing door, teacher and student exchanged expressions with each other: Shimazu’s perplexed; Sarah’s embarrassed, and mildly vexed. She locked eyes with her Sensei, who was caught up on how best to address the behavior of his ward’s new friend. He returned the look with a raised eyebrow and a smile that threatened laughter.

“He’s a bit--”
“Yeah. I know. It’s not so weird once you know him a bit better.”

“He certainly has the bravado of a hero.” Shimazu shrugged. “Anyways, wha--”

The door opened. In unison, Sarah and Shimazu’s heads moved to see Kenzo returning. The poise and confidence with which he had walked out had conceded. Amused, the ramen chef returned the young man’s smile when he agreed to stay for a meal. “Normally we’d have to make do with what’s leftover at the end of the night. However, seeing as we had to close up shop early, I can make something to order.” He was about to turn to take an unused pan from a nearby shelf when the bell over the front door jingled, followed by the clamor of multiple sets of feet. “What is it now?” He wondered aloud. “I put up the closed sign.”

"Yo we'd like something to eat.”

Shimazu peered between shelves and racks through the window into the dining area. Sarah curiously caught a look over his shoulders. Both could see the group of nearly a dozen armed roughians making themselves at home .

“They’re definitely not here for the food,” Sarah whispered.

“Mhmmmm.” Shimazu’s head bobbed up and down in agreement. “And the atmosphere still has dust settling from this morning.”

The pair exchanged aligning countenances, and filed out from the kitchen. Sarah, following behind Shimazu gestured for Kenzo to follow as well; they’d need the safety of numbers.

“I apologize,” Shimazu addressed the group gathered in the dining room. “But our kitchen is closed for the evening.” He rolled up his sleeves, and looked around the room, giving each of the ten youths their due attention. “But if it’s… err… entertainment you’re looking for, we can certainly try to accommodate your appetite.”

“I don’t think they’re here for you.” Sarah had taken up ground next to Shimazu, and inched closer to the gang. “Check the shirts.” She pointed to the nearest of the group, upon whom she could make out the all-too-familiar “70” styled onto their torsos. “70th Street.” She asserted herself in front of Shimazu. “Valentina wants me done in that bad I guess.”

“I’m… not so sure about that.”

“Huh? Their shirts, Sensei!” Sarah pointed again, more vigorously for emphasis. “That’s the 7-0 print.”

“I know what the shirts say, but they don’t really look like Valentina’s sort… there’s something too upstart about them.”

“Either way,” Sarah retraced the path Shimazu’s eyes had taken around the room, glaring heatedly at each member of the gang. Sarah slid purposefully into a horse stance; her form flexed with the flow of energy collecting into her core. “We’ve been through enough shit for one day. These punks aren’t gonna wreck up the place too.”

“You wrecking up the place isn’t going to make things much be-- Ah!”
“HAAAAH!!”

Shimazu retreated two steps, nearly being swept up in the end result of Sarah’s stunt.

The gathered force of energy rippled forth from Sarah as she roared out a worthy kiai. The wave crashed outward into the dining room, pushing against the would-be assailants, like a small, localized gale. Chairs and tables shifted against the force, though were left undamaged. “And there’s more of that, if you don’t get lost NOW!” She stood herself tall, and fiercely, letting the presence of her energy fill the space around her; in a way she might seem larger than she was.

“A little more concern for others and your surroundings next time.” Shimazu gathered himself and stood behind his pupil, showing a complicated mixture of pride and concern. “I would advise you all to go home, if you can.” He spoke to the young gang members, yet his eyes continually shifted back to Sarah.

Katherine Tran & Horace Wolfe

Some Non-Descript Van on the Streets of the Financial District
Abilities Used: N/A
@Nallore

“Wolfe! We have an issue!” KT called forward from the back of the van. “Sirens going off at the station,” she clarified.

“I hear it. Let me see if I can figure out something.” He pulled a tablet from nearby. The device was wirelessly synced with the console that KT was operating, providing a scaled-down visual of what aspects of the Delgato security systems she had access to. If he could act quickly enough, the in-house security detail might consider the sudden noise a glitch in the system, or something like a mouse setting off an over-sensitive sensor; it would hardly be the first time a system so sophisticated had a false alarm. He set to work with relaxed haste and sifted his way through various interfaces.

But he would come up short. Either Tony’s system was more advanced than their scouting had determined, or their efforts were being actively stymied by his team. Either way, it seemed that Artemis’ mission would be compromised.

Still working on a solution, he moved the mic on his headset closer. “There’s no shame in pulling back,” he said. “We should cut our losses and abort, before it’s too late.”

Deputy Director Gregory Vaughn

Department of Superhuman Affair Headquarters - Deputy Director’s Office
Abilities Used: N/A
@Nallore

Sigh.

A long, releasing breath escaped the Deputy Director’s chest as his finger pressed down onto the last punctuating key. Adjusting his glasses, and wheeling backwards slightly in his chair, he double and triple checked his work. Displayed in the glow of his computer screen, the detailed Incident Report from the attack on Veridian Tech stared back at him. He had been as thorough with the day’s preliminary investigation as he had ever been: eyewitness accounts were logged, the rundown of both his unit’s response and the protocols initiated by Veridian’s security team, and the involvement of Artemis in de-escalating the situation had all been accounted for.

He had, of course, found a way to omit Katherine Tran’s claim of the attacker’s Delgato ties; an accusation like that would be nothing more than a wild guess as far as an official inquiry, even if he was personally convinced of the young woman’s authenticity. For a moment, he did second guess himself on that decision, knowing that it could be seen as a withholding of information. No, he told himself. The policies were clear enough with regard to telepathy as evidence; if it wouldn’t hold up in court, then it could certainly be left aside in favor of a more direct probe. Beyond that, and more importantly, it was for Ms. Tran’s own good. If Anthony Delgato caught wind that she, or anyone for that matter, had psychically pried that kind of smear on his name, they’d be eighty-sixed before sunrise.

Content with the work he had done, he saved the report to the appropriately secured folder, and then, as per procedure, printed out a hard copy to be filed in the vault, pending the Director’s approval. He fetched it, still warm, off of the tray, and signed off on his part, verifying the accuracy of the report. Then, he quietly made his way to a closed door on the side of his office.

His and Annabelle Monroe’s offices were joined together, separated by an old office door with a blacked out window. Both rooms had their own exits into the hallway though. He and the Director could easily see each other in person, but also come and go in privacy. It wasn’t uncommon for either of them to slip out unnoticed until late the evening; nor was it unheard of for both of them to be beavering away unbeknownst to each other late into the night, only to bump into each other in the hall as they exited and locked up.

At the door dividing their offices, Vaughn froze. If he wanted to be done with the day, he could simply slip the folder with the hardcopy of the Incident Report through the mail slot below the window. His hand, folder grasped between its fingers and thumb, hovered over the slot, but then withdrew. He lifted his other hand, and rapped upon the door three times.

Good thing that Mr. Delgato has some closets with no lights' I exit in one of the closets, And I look around, attempting to find the intruder, not knowing where to find them. 'There is someone here, but I can't get a lock on their shadow. Damn' He thought to himself. So he started clearing the rooms one by one, trying to find them. Until he did find someone
