Casimir has never been one for subtlety. Olive toned, close shaven hair and eye liner make for a head turning spectacle as he peacocks his way into the room. He is particularly fond of stylish jackets lacking under shirts to show off his carefully sculpted pectorals and abdomen with a matching high waisted sashed off set of comfortable, relaxed trousers. His aroma is one full of exotic incenses that even the most uncurious individuals find enticing. Never straying from bold colors, his wardrobe frequently shifts between blacks, silvers, reds, and golds.

A man inspired by the sun itself, Casimir is far from shy. He is unafraid of displays of emotion from rage to affection and everything in between. Despite his outspoken nature he isn't one to be brash, relying on charm to achieve what he desires and, when he feels for it, resort to sexual deviancy to manipulate his needs. He does, however, have a nasty habit of cutting others down to size.

Biography: The Prince of Ortha was born at the crack of dawn in his kingdom and quickly garnered the attention of most of those living within it. Destined to be the eventual king, Casimir took his life in stride and was a bottomless well of energy the moment he could walk on his own. Taking up any sport that offered grace and skill, he practiced dancing, tennis, and sword fighting. Though not always performing well in all of these activities, he never let that stop him from trying new things. Well, at least he did until his father had to forbid him from baking when nearly half the guards bunkhouse was burned down from a baking incident. Always generous, he frequently pocketed his allowance to help out his less well off friends when he could visit them. One day, as a young teenager, his lower class best friend Jihad lured him out to where his bodyguards weren't around and attempted to murder Casimir. Having the upperhand of practiced skill, Casimir was able to defend himself and wound up being forced to kill Jihad for his own protection.
As he held Jihad dying in his arms, he learned Jihad had tried to kill him to sell his body off to some loan sharks that had essentially put his family in utmost danger over their inability to repay his debt. Atop of that, Jihad was jealous of Casimir. As Jihad went on, telling Casimir how much he hated him, the prince of Ortha quieted him with a tearful kiss. One that left Jihad apologetic and in tears as he passed away. Broken over Jihads betrayal, Casimir devoted himself from then on to aid the less fortunate however he could, and to always be a just and fair ruler.

Kingdom History:
Ortha was founded a long time ago when a battle between two of its neighboring kingdoms came to a halt, the soldiers no longer wishing to participate in a war direly selfish to the two neighboring kingdoms they came from. A treaty made, a village was quickly formed. From there, settlers found their own ways to live off of the land and discovered the wealth that what would be Ortha held in its dense forests and large, open plains. Abandoned caves revealed gold deposits and the wives of the soldiers who had agreed to end the war discovered a new breed of silk worms that they then utilized to make clothing. Eventually, the village grew into a town, then a city, until it became the kingdom it is today. Known for its exotic and mysterious ways, Ortha has tall walls to keep out potential threats as during its village days, there were frequent attempts to raid it by their former kingdoms.
Distrusting of others, an identification system was resolved. It wasn't long before outer kingdoms could come in for trade granted they had a proper merchant card. Prosecutors, naturally, were tossed outside the walls and had the doors slammed behind them. Ortha is a kingdom of luxury and prestige, so it's only natural that those who are of lower class settle outside of the protective barrier, away from the nobles within to keep the eyesore from the utopian spectacle. Many of the lower class despise the wall, but knowing the history of Ortha have come to understand its purpose. Several hope to one day become rich enough to be a noble within those thick walls, most can only dream. Being a very hot location, several nobles come to spend their holiday within the walls for a chance to glimpse the royals within. Others, who come to join them but don't have the cash, are generally swindled by the villagers on the outskirts on the city. Either way, the city profits greatly by a large influx of visitors all year round.

Artisans have settled in this city, making it a major hot spot for fashion designers, models, and celebrities alike. If you don't have your eye on Ortha, you're certainly not the trendy type.

Whoo, finished redoing Liv. I kinda darkened her backstory a bit... to match the dark backstories of so many of the other character that've been suggested. I also went way the heck overboard, I apologize for my wall of text. And for any incoherency but it's one in the morning and I can't sleep cause caffeine yay. .-. Anyway. Dunno if Aeli would really fit that well with this version of Liv, so... think I might just play as my itty bitty napoleon-complex not-roman. (Also yes I know her faceclaim looks really young but if you just read the backstory I promise it makes a bit more sense.)

(In case no one else can guess by my character names, Lusitania is kinda a not-rome with a bit of greek influence (well technically rome is entirely based off of greece but gah you know what i mean) and I... kinda went overboard with the historical/cultural traditions which will be extremely fun to explain to all of your far more modernized cultures. Also yes, Latin is a thing. So there. >->)

In Depth Appearance:

Even though Lusitanians tend to be small (With women an average of five feet even, and men an average of five feet five), Liv is almost impossibly tiny, standing a proud four feet four inches tall and weighing a whopping sixty pounds. She supposes she’s pretty enough, in kinda a childlike way – and she is still frequently mistaken for a child despite her best efforts. There’s not a feminine curve on her frail frame, which only adds to her childish appearance. Her hair is long and curly, dark brown, and it quite refuses to be tamed with the possible exception of being pulled into a ponytail. Sometimes. Bright blue eyes, often heavily lined and brightly shadowed in a vain effort for maturity, peer out from a pale face that is typically streaked with a fair amount of makeup, as always in an effort to appear “older”.

Her clothing style is simple and elegant; she favors her people’s traditional clothing of long, loose dresses, always with sleeves, even in the heat of summer, and leather sandals with elaborate straps, even in the winter. She usually wears light colors, usually whites and pale blues and lavenders. Often she will also have a vivid scarf, usually purple but sometimes bright blue, wrapped around her body and sometimes over her hair as well.

It should also be noted that eternally on her person – even when she sleeps and bathes – is a thin silver chain necklace with a tiny locket on it, engraved with the letter L. Inside the locket is a photograph of herself and Lucian posing at the piano. She also wears a somewhat longer, plain cord necklace, with her silver lunula amulet tied into it. (As she is still unwed, she wears her people’s traditional crescent moon amulet called a lunula that brings her under the protection of the maiden moon goddess.)

Liv is, to put it in the words of her eldest brother, a “four-foot-four firecracker”. She’s not afraid to use her intelligence to get people to do what she wants them to, and is usually quite successful, well, until anyone mentions her lack of physical strength, and then she wilts. She is forever an intellectual, perking up at the very mention of debates or mental challenges. She can be quite outspoken when she chooses to be, and is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in – if never for herself.

Despite her young age she has a very strong sense of honor and duty. Her duty being to keep her own empire and people strong, and if that means being sent off to marry some man she doesn't know, then so be it. She's quite pious, devoting a portion of each day to her worship of the gods in her people's pantheon.

Liv has done everything she can to uphold the honor of her family – with the exception of her love of music. Despite the fact that music, as an art form, is treasured in Lusitanian society, it is deeply frowned upon for any member of nobility to put themselves on the spot for something so public and open to ridicule as a musical performance – and it is considered a shameful decadence to take time out of doing important, directly useful things to work on something so frivolous as music.

The youngest of ten children, (with seven brothers and two sisters) Liv’s value to her empire and family was always rather minimized. After all, Lusitania is first of all a military and trading empire, making its wealth from conquest of smaller countries and providing a safe place for merchants to run their businesses, and it would speak ill of the empire if such an… unimpressive specimen as Liv were ever to hold a prominent place.

Unlike her siblings, Liv was never physically strong or traditionally beautiful. A chronic illness – sickle cell anemia – has stunted her growth, and various complications from it have left her with a ruined immune system; a seasonal cold is enough to leave her in bed, too weak to do anything, for a week or more, and she still to this day puts up with the periodic pain of it. But what she had, that most of her siblings did not have, was an intellect to rival any show of physical strength and an iron determination to see her projects through. Her siblings were wary of her for it, until they realized how fragile her self-confidence was. All they had to do was imply uselessness – or just mention the name “Lucian” – and she’d break down.

About Lucian – Lucian Catilina was her best friend until they were twelve and fourteen. The son of a minor noble family, albeit one that was very old and very rich and had ties all across the empire. They’d started their education at about the same time – Lucian had delayed starting school for two years for his own health issues. Oddly enough, they met on what was to be the first day of school for a bunch of the palace kids – neither of them had been able to attend for their own medical reasons. That day the six-year-old Lucian had wobbled over to Liv’s bed and ordered the nursemaid to put her in a wheelchair and take her downstairs to the piano. He played all the nursery rhymes he ever learned and taught her how to play them, too, though at that point she was too weak to even properly strike the keys. They would meet for piano lessons once a week, or twice a week at first, but as they grew older the lessons grew in length and intensity – Lucian seemed desperate to learn, and then teach her, as much as he could. It wasn’t for a few years before Liv finally realized why. Sure, she’d known something was wrong but she hadn’t known what, hadn’t even wanted to think of what it might’ve been.

Their parents had agreed to have them married as soon as Liv came of childbearing age. This agreement was made when they were eight and ten. Still Liv refused to think of why this was being so rushed, or why Lucian seemed so desperately driven.

Until the day when eleven-year-old Lucian pulled himself through the door to their classroom, his body folded into a wheelchair. He held her hand and told her that he had muscular dystrophy and was going to lose his ability to play piano within two years and likely die within another three after that. And after that they spent hours at the piano together, both of them pouring their lives into it around whatever bit of schoolwork either of them had.

It was just a few days after Liv’s twelfth birthday that Lucian was taken to the hospital. He was under intensive care for several weeks, no one allowed to visit him. Liv spent that time, all those long empty hours, at the piano learning Lucian’s absolute favorite piano sonata – mozart’s piano sonata number 11. The one he’d had to give up on when his fingers had quit working right. About three weeks after he’d been taken in, she got the phone call that it was the end, got on a plane, went to visit him for the last time. She’d brought a keyboard along with her, of all things, and sat next to his bed and played the sonata for him and then held his hand and cried and cried. She’ll never forget the way he was laid out on the gurney, machines forcing air into his lungs and his heart to beat. She’ll also never forget the way, when she’d finished playing, that his fingers twitched around her hand, the way the corner of his mouth tilted slightly up into a tiny version of his signature half-smirk. And then he died.

She’d placed the coin in his mouth, kissed him away into the underworld as was her duty as the “spiritually closest” relative he’d had. She’d placed the wreath on his head before he was lowered into the ground, and she played the sonata – rather than speak – during the laments offered at the ceremony.

After that, she didn’t speak or touch a piano again for three years. She seemed to be an empty shell. Oh sure, she went through the motions in her classwork and other more practical things she was intended to learn, but there was no life in it. It’s only recently that she’s taken to heart his last request – that she make a mark on the world.

It was decided that Liv would be sent to Aciras, the first Lusitanian princess sent there in the course of history. She had to be sent off rather quickly (sixteen being already abnormally old for a noble girl to remain unmarried, at least by Lusitanian standards), before her people could start wondering whether there was some… other reason for her to not be married yet. (Spoiler alert, but there’s a reason. Her medical issues have rendered her infertile.)

While realistically she knows that being married off is the best situation ultimately... she can’t shake two feelings. The first being that she’s being unfaithful to Lucian, the second that she’s just being shackled down and made unable to ever fulfill her promise to him.

I added a few references to Inuit culture that I'll explain more for the kingdom background. I also left a few kingdoms vague like where his mother and his tutor were from.

In Depth Appearance:
John is most certainly a combination of his parents. His hair is definitely his father's. John looked at a picture of his father when he was his age and they look very similar. However, his skin tone is his mother's. She came from the south and John inherited her tan skin tone. It is the only thing that he got from her. The belief of his nation is that a citizen must be strong in mind, body, and soul. John is rather muscular from a life out in the country side. His constant swimming regime keeps him fit. He has a small tattoo of his country's flag on his right arm. John always keeps his hair short since that is the style back home.

If an outsider were to look at the Prince, they would think him rather odd. He is quiet and always seems to be in his own world. This is quite normal back home. He was raised with scientists, so he acts likes one. He does understand the subtleties of being a royal but he clearly has issues with it. He just does not understand a lot of the more old fashioned attitudes. They do not fit with his world view. Balls and pageantry do not make sense. It's the modern area. This is normal for most people in Pelanor. John is kind to everyone and rarely holds a grudge.

His ideas were so ingrained that his parents hired a tutor from a far away kingdom to help John fit in with the other royals. This tutor helped to teach him everything he knows about acting like a prince. He may not understand the need for it but he does enjoy a bit of "old fashioned" fun. He loves to learn and always seems to be writing something in his little leather journal.

Biography:
Prince John Thomas Drake was born on June, 28. As custom decreed, he was named after his recently deceased Uncle. John spent his first few years of life learning how to be a proper prince of Pelanor. This meant he was taught to read when he was three and how to write at four. He was taught how to swim almost as soon as he could walk. The frigid waters of the sea helped to shape him. The cold water never seemed to bother him. He was then trained by the local Inuit tribes. His parents had always had a good relation with the natives and decided that their son should learn from them as well. So when John was eight years old, they had him sent to one of the Inuit villages south of the Arctic Circle.

While there, he gained a love of the land and the respect of his people. They taught him how to live off the land and how to take care of himself. He spent four years living with them before he was called back home to the capital. His parents had decided that he needed to learn more. This time he was to learn about how to be a modern prince. The issue was that no one in Pelanor knew how a prince should act. They knew that he would need help to fit in. So they hired a tutor from a far away kingdom by the name of Sir Ethan Rogers. They gave him the near impossible task of changing the young prince from a wild child to a proper gentleman.

John didn't really like Rogers when he first met him. The man was the very definition of old world fop. His powdered wig did not help at all. However, Rogers took to the next to impossible task with gusto. Rogers taught John everything a prince would need even if John did not think that they were needed. He taught him to waltz and how to eat like a gentleman. John never really was able to understand the art of sword fighting. It was too archaic for his liking. Eventually, the young prince began to like his tutor as a friend and confidant. Rogers also taught him to play the piano since it was "a gentlemanly pursuit".

Now, his parents announced that he is to be betrothed to help the kingdom. Even though John hates the idea of an arranged marriage, he would do anything for his home. It was the proper thing to do.

Despite being the elder of the twins Zac has an obvious vertically disadvantage to his brother. Standing at 5'5" Zac cannot claim to posess 'rock hard abs' or abs at all for that matter, yet posesses quite a decent slender physique with a bit of arm muscle. His brown hair seems to always have a ruffled look to it, despite the amount of styling and even hair gel in it. His eyes seem to always have a twinkle in them as if he's doing something mischievous or, at least, planning something like touch. His pale lips seem to always sport a cheeky smile. He doesn't look like a prince.

Cheeky and carefree Zac lives for making his life fun and enjoyable for himself even if at the expense of others. He loves amusing people in doing such, however, most of his stick-up-the-bum kingdom aren't so impressed with his antics. That mischievous look about him seems to prkve true to his personality, if he's not up to mischief he's probably planning or getting ready to launch into something of such a nature. He tends to try and stay out of drama, however, it seems to find him. Especially considering his kingdom. He's reeklessly cheerful ways consequences in an ever-present cheerful mood. Some would claim he can't act his age, and they would be right. Zac can't sit through a serious meeting or conference without cracking at least a childish joke or two.

Biography:
Zac posessed what he jokes to have been '3 minutes of peace' before his twin was born. Since birth the boys had been connected at the hip, which is both bad and good. Good, whwn you have your eye on one the other's bound to be nearby. The bad thing? Well two mischievous pranker's heads put together never ends well for everyone else. Zac has had a prwtty cruisey and enjoyable life, he tries to make ot so. The problem? Avalon are full of stick-up-the-arses. Every. Last. One. Known for their livestock and strict, yet awe-worthy, scholars and teachers it's a wonder how such a kingdom resulted in such cheeky princes.

When the Zac was 10 his parents were distraught. They were already wild and cheeky in an obviously unrelenting manner. Any of the young women-to-be of the kingdom would be suitable as an opposing force, perhaps they could tone down the nature of the princes. The problem was, none of the wealthy scholars were willing to set their daughters with the ever-growing mischief that was Zac and Shawn and the king and queen refused to lower the family name to peasants, not that they would be willing to give their daughters away unless they were seriously wanting just the hlory and wealth of having a future queen their daughter. Seeing this the couple rushed to arrange wives for the twins in hopes their future wive might tobe them down if time didn't

To hell it didn't. Throughout their schooling years Zac and Shawn went through over 50 tutors, often thinking of someway to get rid of the next tutor pretty soon after their arrival. Those under the kingdoms rule tread carefully when the twins are in the area and many are fearful on what their rise of power may mean to the land, especially as Zac has decided he's going to share the throne with his brother

Niko stands a full height of 6 feet towering over most of his subjects in his kingdom. Endless training and work outs gave him a well toned body. His brilliant blue eyes are always twinkling with some sort of mischief despite having a strict decorum fit for a prince. A big smile is a rare sight, however, he always wear a pleasant look particularly among his subjects. He likes wearing his dark hair short and tidy but when it gets too long, he wears it brushed up.

Like his father, he can almost always be seen wearing formal wear with perfectly shined shows. His ties are the only thing that changes color. In the rare moment that he actually dresses down, he can be seen wearing worn out jeans, plain shirt and sneakers.

Niko is the quiet type but observant and thoughtful. Biography:
Niko is the only son of King Alessandro and Queen Bianca Johanssen of Anduin, the city of Jewels. Raised to be king, he was trained personally by both parents. Bianca taught his son proper etiquette, courtesy, politeness, patience and how to listen well to what their subjects and what the kingdom needs. The Queen taught the prince how to use his ears and his heart. While Alessandro taught him how to be fair, straightforward, honest and just. Both parents were loving and kind and gave their only son everything he could ever want. And above all else, both parents ingrained into their son the importance of responsibility and duty.

Alessandro also taught Niko the art of Jewel Appraisal and Refinement as is passed down the Johanssen line. It is also the trade of their kingdom. Once a kingdom full of blacksmiths was now full with jewelers and traders. Of course, there was no better jeweler than the king himself and it was imperative that he passed on to his only heir this family trade. However, unlike his father, Niko particularly disliked jewel appraisal and refinement. At a young age, he had openly rejected it but reluctantly learned it with the persistent insistence of Alessandro. Eventually, driven by a sense of responsibility as the crown prince and sole heir as well as his fear of failure, he immersed himself into the art until his abilities paralleled his father's.

On Niko's 15th birthday, he met a girl in the castle courtyard while he was on his way out to visit the city festival. Golden hair and light blue eyes, she looked like an angel. She said her name was Adaline and she travelled far to see the jewels and gems for trade in Anduin. He had wasted no time introducing himself, leaving out the fact that he was the prince. He looked like an ordinary person, after all, wearing casual clothes. Adaline seemed delighted to have met someone who was willing to show a stranger around. The prince complied and toured her around the city, telling her a bit about the kingdom's history and exhibiting a little of his jewel mastery when she had shown particular interest in a piece of emerald necklace.

The festival had been originally meant to celebrate the prince's birthday but as time passed by, it became an opportunity to trade or sell jewelries as the doors of the city welcomed all from all over the world. Of course, it was not a rare event to encounter thieves in such an event and so half of the castle guards roamed the city dressed casually to blend in. A handful watched the prince as the rest patrolled the city.

Adaline had stayed the whole week for the festivities and spent everyday with the Prince until Niko, you as he was, thought he had fallen in love. Eventually, he admitted to her his status in the royal family. He was showing her around the castle when a riot broke in the city. Because there had been guards dressed as civilians, the perpetrators were immediately apprehended and brought to the king. A middle aged man, a woman and a young boy had been caught stealing from the traders and jewelers, proof of their sin evident in the jewels found in bags they carried.

Bearing resemblance to the family of three, King Alessandro had looked suspiciously at his son's new friend. Despite Niko's protests, Adeline's bag was searched. Niko's face was a mask of surprise as the castle guards pulled out the emerald necklace she had shown interest in the day they met and Queen Bianca's diadem from the bag.

From that day forth, trade with the outside had been restricted. Festivals were limited to a maximum of two days and people who were leaving always had their proof of purchase or trade inspected. Niko had become wary of strangers and had become a bit aloof in the presence of them.

In Depth Appearance:
A tall figure standing at the height of 5 feet, 9 inches (1.79 meters), Shawn weighs in at about 149 pounds (67 kg). With dark brown hair that is typically stylized to be swept back, the young man is lean with the slightest six pack. With deep hazel eyes, Shawn likes to dress in graphic tee's, jeans and random pair of shoes that just so happen to match with the color scheme. He can also be seen wearing a un-tucked dress shirt, just because he simply feels like it.

The young man has a scar on his shoulder that runs vertically that is about 2 inches long.

Shawn, needless to say, is confident. He may be a nerd, but the boy does have a killer torso, which he is proud off. With a love of food and rock music, it is a rare sight to see the young man without a snack in his hand and earbuds in his ears. The young man has been known to be called what the kids say is savage, and he has no problem with this. He knows that on occasion, even though he is kind to most, that he can say something mean, or come across as rude. Despite this, Shawn loves to help people. There have been many to tell him that he is their confidant, and knows that he can keep any secret that he tells them.

Shawn is the type of guy that is extremely random, and there is no telling what he will say, or do, next. He is also very determined, and will stop at almost nothing to succeed, accepting help from no one. He is also very dependable, and when he say's he will get it done, he will. Perhaps not at the exact time that he or you would like, but if you ask him to make a cake, and the boy agrees to do so, expect the cake on your doorstep pretty soon. Along with being dependable, he hates broken promises. When he says the words "I promise" he will stick by that promise until the day he dies to make sure that it is fulfilled.

Shawn is not one for gossip, though is a loud and rambunctious person. If there is a party or social activity to be found, he will find it and you can be sure to find him there. The boy has a major ego and cares -perhaps to much- what others think of him. Despite being known as a nerd, Shawn is exceptionally flirty and loves to throw a suggestive glance here and there.

Biography: Shawn was born three minutes after his brother, Zac -something that his elder twin never lets him forget. From the time the boys were born, they started causing havoc. Having lost 50 tutors over the years, the two's parents were distraught as to what to do about their sons future wives. Then again, Shawn never had a problem with the ladies, but their fathers were another question.

It was at the age of twelve that the two decided to share the throne together. Since Zac is technically the older one, the throne is technically supposed to be his, but the two being as close as they are, simply wouldn't have it.
