Work in Progress, but I'm putting this here just so nobody ends up putting up something that messes with something I'm working with.
Name: James Dalton Appearance: Real Photo Image Please Age: 28 Gender: Male Blood Status: somewhere on the order of half-blood, muggles and wizards of varying blood statuses throughout his ancestry without discrimination, purity of blood is unknown, and neither he nor his family really cares Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, but borderline with Ravenclaw Personality: (Just a few descriptors of how they are as a teacher and coworker / No more than 4 or 5 adjectives) Biography: Please break into at least three sections with the minimum being Pre-Hogwarts childhood / Hogwarts Years / And their post Hogwarts life (ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OF YOUR CHARACTERS WERE BROUGHT BACK TO HOGWARTS AS TEACHERS EITHER TWO OR ONE YEAR AGO AT THE REQUEST OF THE NEW HEADMASTER WHO STARTED AT THE POSITION TWO YEARS AGO.) Favorite Hogwarts Memory: Winning the Quidditch Cup for Gryffindor in his fifth year (working on details).
Please note that while this role play takes place in the Wizarding world created by JK Rowling I am asking that it not take place in the same story line (In other words I ask you remember the rules and world, but not the characters and story)
So if I'm understanding this right, there was no Voldemort or any of the two wizarding wars. No famous Harry Potter, or chaos. Just wondering because if the present time in the beginning of the RP is 2010, then when they do go back in time, it will be something like 1997. Thats like the year of or before the end of the war. I think Snape or Umbridge is the headmaster. Muggleborns are banned from Hogwarts, and Dumbledore is murdered. In this RP none of this ever happened? This would also make Grindelwald, and Newt Scamander stuff in the 20s not happen due to ties with Dumbledore, right? So it's just a safe happy Hogwarts?
This is correct. My goal is this role play to take place in the world created, but not the story and history. As this role play has to do with time travel I wanted everyone to be able to help create a new past, present, and future.
I am happy to answer any and all questions people have about this and what they are allowed to do and will be barred from doing.
@World Traveler Given that the history of canon does not apply, and my character's very reason for being in Britain in the first place is Voldemorr related, why is my character approved? XD and, in case that was just an omissiom on your side, should I just change my pre-Hogwarts bio into another, original reason why dark magic might have been accepted in Britain for a brief period in the past?
Blood Status: half blood. Dad is a muggle, Mom is a witch.
Hogwarts House: Griffindor
Personality: Kind, adventurous, brave, loyal, polite, understands the need for rules & regulations as well as the need for flexibility
Biography: Childhood: Tired of his family’s rejection of his wife and life in the city, Brendan McKenna and his wife Cathleen moved away from Dublin when Cathleen discovered she was pregnant. Brendan had known his wife was a witch from the day he met her. He didn’t mind, but others clearly did. Ivy grew up on Beare island in Ireland, and spent most of her free time wandering around the island, or taking the cable car to Dursey island. She always seemed different from other children and preferred the company of animals and nature over that of humans. Her childhood was happy, and rather uneventful. Her parents loved each other, and adored her. She was not spoiled, but truly loved. Her talent for transfiguration became evident very early on. As a two-year-old, she turned her sippy cup into a proper goblet. She wasn’t a baby anymore, after all! Mom recognized her talent and helped her control it as much as she could. Accidents did happen, children who picked on Ivy tended to find their toys mysteriously broken, but never anything too serious. The older Ivy got, the more she gained control.
Hogwarts: When Ivy got her letter, her parents were so proud! And when Ivy was sorted in to Gryffindor, her mother’s old house, the joy was complete. Ivy was a diligent student, who showed an aptitude for Potions and Care for Magical Creatures besides her obvious talent in Transfiguration. She also showed considerable talent for non-verbal spell casting, and won her share of duels in her time. Playful and adventurous, Ivy never made head girl, but was loved by many Gryffindors. Ravenclaws admired her devotion to her studies, and Hufflepuffs liked her for her loyalty and kindness. She didn’t have much patience for Slytherins, and that feeling was entirely mutual. Of course this got her in trouble on occasion, but that was something she just had to deal with.
After Hogwarts: Ivy studied on and became a registered animagus, her alter ego is a beagle, and applied for a position within the Ministry for Magic. Being a halfblood, Ivy opted to draw on her strong suits and her knowledge of the muggle world. She worked in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts department for a number of years before returning to Hogwarts to teach Transfiguration two years ago. Ivy had considered refusing the Headmaster’s request, she considered herself too young to be a teacher, but had ultimately given in to the desire to be a part of that amazing institution.
Favorite Hogwarts Memory: When asked about her time at Hogwarts, two images instantly present themselves. Even if you’d put a gun to her head, Ivy wouldn’t be able to choose between them, though neither of them seem remarkably significant. Ivy will never forget her first look at the castle that housed the school. Something about the way it stood there, illuminated only by the stars, the moon and a few torches made it seem like the most magical, homely place she had ever known. It appealed to her adventurous side, and she was filled with excitement and wonder, and instantly looked forward to all the adventures and lessons she’d be having in there. Whenever Ivy thinks back on her days at Hogwarts, she remembers the time she spent with her friends. Hanging out in the common room, going to class, passing notes, sharing homework, secrets and family news, Ivy’s favourite memory of Hogwarts is simply how at home she felt there. How she felt like she belonged within these walls. That feeling, that’s why she said “yes” when the headmaster had asked her to come teach. Plain and simple.
Sorry it took me so long!! I based Ivy's house on the count in the Character Tab! Should there be an abundance of Gryffindors, she'd work as a Ravenclaw as well, with a minor rewrite. Let me know!
