Gah, won't be able to post today, need to do it tomorrow after work. Really sorry 'bout the delay. Won't mind if people wanna keep posting before then, since I don't wanna hold anyone up! I can always say Nadijah was observing things from a nearby roof and sneaked into the inn late after the door was left open and all.

Nobody is at risk of being left behind. I only wanted to move the scene from the wet street into the bar while everyone introduced themselves. I apologize if I’m moving too quick. I was a little over excited to start.

I'm not real clear on the distance between the alleyway and the back lot of Telma's with the shrubbery, and I kind of intended Drifter to be sort of unseen in the background until the rest of the characters made their way back there, so as not to overcrowd the potential fight scene. Should I assume this wasn't the case, and Telma's addressing him with the rest? It's not that I don't want to interact with everyone else, it's just that I didn't want to charge in and make the scene even more chaotic since it seemed fairly clear it was about to be a "THE BEACONS ARE LIT, GONDOR CALLS FOR AID" moment as everyone rushes to save Dekkunda.

Would it be okay if I just had him feel an unusual draft or something, then find the well on his own? Is it under a bush or overgrowth like in Link to the Past?

It's not really anyone's fault but mine for trying to wait for people, then getting a few too many things coming at me at once within the IC. I should've just responded fast instead of waiting on other people, but that's just not how I've functioned ever.

You can have Dekkunda flee from the alleyway in your next post; He's cowardly enough for it to make sense for an exit. I don't feel like writing it in myself honestly.

The telepathic message mentions "Friends," and given Telma's involvement with a resistance group in Twilight Princess, I figured the implication was that this version of the character would also be involved in something like that. A faction loyal to the Queen or whatever. It'd be even sloppier if a bunch of unrelated people with vastly different mindsets--some of which might lead to infighting like Lesina and Nadijah's completely opposed views--just all gathered around the well and suddenly decided "We're best friends in the same party, off to save the world we go!" when they don't know each other from Tingle.

Having an NPC to smooth over an initial meeting and keep it from devolving into a bunch of "who are yous" and "what's all this about," as well as assuage the questions and worries of the lest trusting characters, makes it easier to establish them as a "group," if that's what they're meant to be.

Fair enough. This is a lot different from the last Zelda RP I was involved in where we all went in a well to save a princess (a link to the past has a great hook for a RP, all fans agree). Wait a second. Does this mean Agahnim is the King of Hyrule?!

For the record, I'm also very glad about Telma's involvement, especially since she's a Gerudo. Seeing one of her own endorse this gives Nadijah much more reason to even consider tagging along the ragtag group of her former enemies. I mean, I would have found an excuse either way, but this makes it much easier than just meeting everyone in a well!

Yep, that's a perfect example of how an NPC can help a rag-tag bunch of misfits not be so mis-fitted. Without Telma, how would we have convinced the blood thirsty desert savage to help save the new heir of the kingdom that ransacked her home? Then again...

That might work once we get through this first little chunk and the world "opens up," if @Product planned to do it that way, but right now we're going to be heading into the castle, probably facing some light opposition, and then making an escape. Unless he wants to declare any "bad guy" Knights of Hyrule to be fodder ala Hyrule Warriors, and give us freedom over establishing the environment, we'll need him to post more frequently to give us the action-reaction flow.

For example, if he describes a stairwell from the sewer tunnels to the ground floor of the castle, and it's lit by one wall sconced torch, and there are footsteps and clinking metal coming from the top of it, that's giving us info to use in our posts. Someone might douse the torch and plan to ambush the guard when he comes down. Someone else may just rush up there and try to knock him out straight away. But Product is gonna have to tell us what happens when we make our attempts at action, what we see, what sensory info we're getting, etc.

All I'd recommend now is just waiting for every player to post, then responding to them all at once--if need be, using Mentions and header-text to identify who the specific part of the post is aimed at. Unless players are interacting directly with each other in a back-and-forth, they don't need to post more than once per "round," and even then if their back and forth goes on too long they need to create a collaborative post and copy-paste it.

Wait, is he out? I must've misunderstood Raddum]s post and missed that last night then (which would make sense, considering I was operating half-asleep). If that is the case, I for one hope @Raddum reconsiders, since it sounds like the pace issue was talked through and resolved. Dekkun was a wonderful addition to the team too, would be a shame to lose him.

I'm not a super fast-paced poster either (usually few times a week/every other day at max, unless work or life gives me sudden extra responsibilities), but since RPs tend to be much faster in the beginning when everyone is excited and still trying to find common ground, I'm usually not worried about the pace in the start. It tends to even out pretty nicely, and now we talked it through anyway.

If he did leave over this, I do feel personally responsible, since if I hadn't been bombarded with things yesterday, I could have posted and none of this would've happened.
