Rune Powers: Capable of rapidly growing all forms of plant life, as well as controlling them to shape to what she requires. Roots from the ground to ensnare and vines to pull airborne targets down. She can cause trees to uproot themselves and move wherever she wishes, attacking with either their root system or felling themselves on the opponent. The closer she is to what she is manipulating, the faster and stronger the effects. She is also able to cover herself in a dense bark to take incoming blows, and to also form gantlets to help with her strikes.
Description: Standing at a modest 5"6', Arlathil keeps herself fit and healthy. She has a number of scars from her early days of fighting as well as a few from more recent violent encounters. The most notable ones are the multiple scars decorating her knuckles, a number of short cuts on her left arm, a large burn mark on her right leg and a single long cut that goes from the back of her right shoulder down to her hip. She prefers darker colors, usually favoring browns and black, and wears form filling clothing so they don't interfere with her fighting. She also often uses chest bindings as well.
Personality: Dedicated to whatever she sets her mind to, Arla is persistent, headstrong and entirely willing to do what she must to get what she wants done. With a strong sense of right and wrong, an enjoyment of fighting, a protective nature of those around and like of getting things done quick and simple, she rarely sits anything out and will put in her all. Outside of conflicts, she tends to hang back and see where things go, chatting with people and relaxing until something gains her attention, or worse, her ire.
Skills: -Hand to hand combat training in several fighting styles -Physically capable, both in strength and endurance -Fast and light on her feet
Weaknesses: -Lack of ranged capabilities -Not very good at knowing when to back off -Has little knowledge on technology, only what she needs in her day to day -Fire and extreme cold
Brief History: Not much is known about her years before she turned 18, only that she'd simply rather not talk about it. After, however, is quite easy to trace. She picked up numerous fighting classes, training almost non-stop for several years as she mastered each of them, one after another. Her efforts and skill, as well as a lack of income, eventually brought her into fighting in fight tournaments, both legal and illegal. She made a name for herself in only a few short months, but declined any offers for deals and contracts, stating she only fought because she wanted to, not fame or fortune. The nickname Valkyrie eventually got stuck to her, mostly from the illegal fights, and she'd go on to carry it until shortly before her runes awakening.
Berkano activated on a day Arla had no real plan on getting into a fight. She had, in fact, decided to take a short break and go camping for a few days on the outskirts of the city, relax and unwind after a rough round in the rings. The first morning she was there, however, was rudely interrupted by yelling and screaming. When she arrived, a lone Warg had cornered a pair of fellow campers, likely looking for easy prey to sink its fangs into. What it got was an angry woman's shoulder slamming into its rib cage. The other campers ran for it and Arla squared off against the beast, however she herself couldn't recall exactly what happened. When help arrived, she was unconscious and severely wounded with her rune now showing, but the Warg was hanging limp from massive roots that had ensnared and choked it out. She was brought to the training facility and 'requested' to join, something she actually had no objection to.
Other: She keeps a rose tucked behind her ear that is kept alive with her powers
Full Name: Ratatoskr Nicknames/Aliases: The Horned Squirrel (He claims his horn is in his pants.) Age: ??? Gender: Male? Female? Says he's a guy, despite being very feminine. So just go with that.
_____________________________________________________________________________ Mystical Powers: - Run Away! - How do you duck out of taking responsibility for anything? Literally running from the problem. Ratatoskr possesses the mystical ability to simply ignore consequence by running from it. No attack can reach him if he chooses to avoid it. In that regard though, he's completely useless at fighting. Because that means he's actually ready to face the consequences, and loses his ability to avoid the problem until at least a day after the situation has boiled down. - ACRONS! - Ratatoskr has a seemingly endless amount of acorns he has collected. Don't ask. - Yggdrasil - Ratatoskr knows where the branches of the Yggdrasil lay. As such, he can quickly vanish, by simply using one of the branches to transport himself around. As such, he is the ultimate spy. Able to be anywhere in the world, and appearing seemingly out of thin air. As such, our heroes will never really escape him. _____________________________________________________________________________ Personality: How does one describe the most annoying person to ever exist? Ratatoskr is the kind to damn all consequences to his actions. If he has fun, why bother? Right? In that case, he has damned the whole world. It is he who spreads the insults between Nidhogg and the Eagle, and he who giggles from the suffering it causes. It's because he does not suffer. Perhaps he just enjoys to watch the world burn? Who knows. But he has taken his powers that could be used for good, and uses them for evil. Or perhaps, considering he is who he is, he plays the long game. He can help his enemies, just to see how far they'd get.
Skills: - Distraction - He's great at that. Just keep aiming at him. You'll never hit him. - Insults - Also very good at those. Your mother sucks acorns.
Weaknesses: - Fragile loser - He's a fragile loser. One hit can take him out. That's why he doesn't fight. So he can rely on his powers to simply avoid consequences. - Easily Distracted - Seriously, if he fights, he loses. He can't win.
Brief History: BEHOLD! THE TRUE POWER OF THE MIGHTIEST FORCE IN ALL OF HISTORY! On the very day Ymir was born, another force, his equal and counter was born as well. RATATOSKR! While Ymir was big and weak, Ratatoskr was small and endlessly powerful! But he had become bored of beating up Ymir, and aided Odin in slaying the ice giant ONCE AND FOR ALL! Odin didn't even do anything! It was ALL RATATOSKR! As the new king of all, he quickly became bored with even that, and gave his crown to Odin. But when the king needed him most, Ratatoskr would return! wielding Mjolnir in one hand, and Gungir in the other! He defeated Loki, forged the worlds, and totally saved Baldir's life. He just went on vacation and never came back. BUT IGNORE THAT LAST BIT! For Ratatoskr, hero, slayer of giants, most attractive man in all the nine realms twenty centuries in a row... Is also a part time mailman/hobo. If you ever need him, just shout at a random tree. Chances are he'll just fall out of it.
But seriously, he's a squirrel with an ego. That's it.
Other:(Anything else you think everyone needs to know about your character.)
@Reflection He’s looking good so far! He seems like he’ll be a really fun addition to the cast.
Also, as a general message to everyone, the person who reserved Uruz PMed me to let me know they would no longer be able to keep the time. As such, Uruz is now open to anyone who would like to submit a character for it. I’ll mark it as OPEN once I get to a computer.
Sinmara (imagine with horns, and with a sword instead of a flail though)
Sinmara (does not wear the outfit depicted in the picture though)
Full Name: Surtr/Sinamara
Nicknames/Aliases: “He Who Burns Way The Heavens and Earth”, “Protector of Laevetainn”, “Guardian of Muspellheim’s Gate”
-Immense physical strength and durability, and the other physical bonuses of being a jotun.
-Jotun alternate form transformation, though it outsizes normal jotun by at least 50%.
-Capable of changing his form physically, from that of the “jotun who will burn the world to ashes” and a normal-sized human form. Can also change into a jotun and human variant of his Sinmara form.
-Sun Sword: A gleaming blade that glows brighter than the sun and is merely a vessel imbued with some of his power over the millenia. This makes it a very strong implement of battle, however, and it can shoot or emit flames from it.
-Laevetainn: A staff covered in all manner of runes, a branch broken off of the world tree Yggdrasil itself. It is a weapon capable of killing Vidofnir, a rooster who sits atop the tree of Mímameiðr and that Surtr finds to be...very annoying. The staff itself can cast much magic, however, and can morph into a sword and back into a staff at the wielder’s will.
The blade is under 9 seals only Sinamara/Surtr can willingly undo, only which after being undone would allow others to wield the blade other than Sinmara/Surtr.
-He can also summon and control fire, from basic forms all the way up to the great scorching flames of Muspellheim themselves. It surpasses any of the crude elemental control of normal jotun. Even the Bifrost bridge isn’t safe from him if he so desires to destroy it, such is his power.
-Immortality: It just means he cannot be killed permanently, and always comes back quickly via the flames of Muspellheim.
Description: (What do they look like? Even if you've got a picture, a bit of writing would be nice. Include their usual attire, any notable scarring or markings, etc.)
While the Surtr's two forms as a jotun are fiery and terrifying, standing tall with hair of fire, skin dark like greyed charcoal, glowing eyes like suns, glowing cracks on their skin, and a boom in their voices akin to a volcanic eruption, they are not the only forms Surtr can utilize. Unlike other Jotun, beyond having two forms that is, Surtr has access to the magic to change his form to that of a human.
His male human form takes the form of a man with short black hair and a mustache/beard combination of small length. It has great musculature all over its body, similar to Surtr's actual body, and a big gut that leads some to think he might be slow and fat. However, one look from those somber and steeled eyes is enough to send chills down the spines of foes, and frankly made him a great stoic bartender back in the day. His female human form, on the other hand, has short black hair as well with small bit of styling to it, along with a muscled body and a relatively attractive overall figure to boot. She may look good, however, but one must not underestimate Surtr's capabilities even in this for due to the jotun's great might.
A very relaxed yet dedicated/passionate sort of person, he trains constantly for his role in Ragnarok without fail...yet can also be found chilling back in a chair in a cafe or other restaurant on another as well. His temper is fiery when it is actually set off, but at the same time he is very tempered and with immense self-control. However, one can taste his prowess in battle and feel the heat of his passions and drive. He is also not one to leave a task unfinished when he sets out to do it, but also appreciates the down time when he is not involved in things. In regards to his duty, he stands by it without fail or hesitation...to waver him from this would be impossible in reality due to his level of dedication to it.
-Making drinks (worked part-time at a bar for a few decades once)
-Cooking (worked at a number of restaurants and other food-cooking places, and enjoys spicy food a great deal as a result as well)
-His physical vessel can be killed, removing him from an area or location, only to reincarnate in the fires of Muspell and then be forced back into the mortal world again in a random area. A great way to hold him back from an area or distract him otherwise.
-His lack of choosing a side has put him in a dangerous spot against both of them, and should they discover his true identity it would be an even worse situation for him in terms of how much attention it would garner.
-Can only use Laevatainn in his Sinmara form, and his Sun Sword only in his Surtr form.
-The ice of Nifilheim can oppose his world-burning flames, though only at the climax of Ragnarok (where he finally burns the heavens and earth) these flames will finally and briefly become too powerful to oppose in this manner at that time.
-The normal “fracture marks”, aka the vulnerable scar tissue areas of a jotun, and his human forms are squishier than a jotun but stronger than any normal human body.
The very powerful and unique jotun who lived at the gates to Muspellheim, guarding the fiery frontier since time immemorial. A being whose origins are unknown, theorized to maybe be a brother of Ymir himself....or to have been around even longer. He is the being who brings forth the flames of Muspellheim to scorch all the world (heaven and Earth) with flames and destroy it. This, so that it will be reborn, the remaining gods begin over again at an appointed meeting place, the two surviving humans can reproduce and cover the earth again, and the cycle can continue on again as he returns to his duties guarding Muspellheim’s flames once more. In particular, he is destined to slay the god Freyr as well as shatter the Bifrost bridge, and he is a skilled warrior who has continued to hone his skills over the many ages. Overall, he is one who’s role is: "at the end of the world he will go and wage war and defeat all the gods and burn the whole world with fire".
Likewise, Surtr possesses an aspect named “Sinmara” who was thought to be his wife/consort due to human interpretations of ancient texts. In reality “she” is but a part of Surtr, being his “other skin” and female form which possesses the legendary blade Laevetainn to guard it from others. Truly a unique situation for the jotun beyond his odd nature, but a role he has always had nontheless. It could be theorized that he is the “origin” of all fire Jotun, and the fact he originated before Ymir (the jotun who originated all other Jotun but Surtr).
When “The End” was started and then halted in progress, Surtr was during this pulled from his home and into the mortal realm in preparation for his role. Due to it not being the appointed time for his scorching of the heavens and earth at the climax of Ragnarok, however, he has been left in an...odd position over the last many years. Mostly he was left with trouble, and a lot of nothing to do. Loki’s children he ignored, with them thinking he was a fire Jotun who just didn't want to fight, and the Blessed and those aligned with the gods have attacked him many a time as they have hunted him down with intent to kill....since they think him a normal fire Jotun as well so far.
Currently, no one on either side has any idea who he really is, all very much because he has held back in power and not used his blades save in personal practice so far in private. He also has used magic to take on another human form, disappearing and becoming listed as a “dangerous fire Jotun in hiding” by both sides. He has lived in a human form in the mortal realm for many, many years due to this, which exist as “but a glimmer or twinkling” amidst his immortal lifespan.
Truth be told, he takes no sides in Ragnarok between Loki’s spawn (with their allies) and the gods. He is a third party, a middle man and force of the universe whose role is to fertilize the new world with the ashes of the old one. This, so that the cycle of life can continue. To this end he seems frustrated with both parties for his own reasons, and notes that a stagnation of the end will only create more problems for the worlds. One example being a “modern” problem like “global warming” here in Midgard, which has actually arisen due to influence from Muspellheim leaking into the mortal world due to his own presence there (itself triggered due to Ragnarok being delayed and incomplete).
This being said, he has become accustomed to his current settings in the modern human world, but remains ready for his role to play out in Ragnarok.
...Though with the emergence of the Runes, and the Blessed being out in force, who knows how long his cover might still last?
Other: Currently works as a chef at a steakhouse, and has an orange pet cat named Muspell at an apartment he procured using magic.
Nicknames/Aliases: “Rune of Uruz”, “The Mighty Tinker”
Rune/Location: Uruz; the rune is visible lower on her collarbone down towards her chest, and is a deep blue color.
Rune Powers: (While some Blessed do have magic, and World Eaters do have powers, you would remove the “Rune” bit for them if using them)
Enhanced physical attributes, including strength, speed, and senses. Her might is comparable to a jotun, allowing her to lift loaded mini-vans at most and tank serious hits. Likewise, she can ‘expand’ her senses to reach farther than normal, but this requires focus. Little focus is needed to enhance senses within the normal range, so in-battle use is practical. Yet the longer the range the more focus that is needed increases exponentially, to the point that long-range stuff it isn’t practical for in-battle use in those situations.
Her reaction time and movement speed are also boosted, the former more than the latter but both being distinct from normal human beings’ capabilities. The overall boost in physical attributes makes her like unto a street-level superhuman of some sort, from from unbeatable or unable to be harmed...but also very bad to get in a fist fight with.
Description: A lightly tanned Caucasian beauty, boasting a head full of soft, red hair that has been stylled into a ponytail. Her eyes are a soft blue, almost like an ocean, and usually one can find her in an upbeat kind of mood. She has a very shapely and well-endowed figure, though nothing inhuman in its quality. Her penchant for tinkering has left her wearing clothing she finds most comfortable for tinkering in, though when out in public she tends to wear comfortable jeans and a comfortable T-shirt or tank top normally. If its cold she tends to pull on a jean jacket she has, thick and durable and very warm to wear in her opinion. Tinkering has also left some wear on her hands that is visible on the palm, though she usually tends to wear gloves when fiddling about with things.
Personality: An upbeat and energetic kind of individual, who enjoys a good swim as much as she enjoys a session of tinkering with something or another. She can be rather laid-back when not busy, though when she is doing things she enjoys she gets very excited about it (and potentially a but hyper). She has a passion for building things on the side, however, crafting them with her own two hands and putting them to use. She takes pride in the super-custom gas-fueled grill she made for herself, as one example of this and her high intelligence.
She does hate if people dismiss her work as “trash”, however, and frankly her temper is a bit “fiery” in general if it is set off. Her excess of energy also seems to be offset by a certain level of anxiety about herself. Does anyone in this world want her for who she is? Is she worthy of the love she has received in life so far...but also desires to gain one day as well? Things such as this are questions that “side” of her is apt to fill her mind with, dragging her down mentally and emotionally. Such things in her are normally triggered by an existing negative state of mind on her end, usually spurred on by some kind of event or interaction.
-She is very skilled with mechanical and computer-related forms of work, tinkering to make things like a super-customized gas grill and even put together and get her own computer working from salvaged and customized parts. She is a tinker who enjoys her craft, perhaps being comparable in this manner to the dwarves of Norse legend.
-She is an average kind of cook, with it being an area she wants to learn more about and has been improving in steadily over time.
-Helping about the house, she has a good grasp of general housework...especially in regards to cleaning due to her tinkering hobby. Home repair also isn’t a thing outside of her reach, being as she is with tinkering.
-Great at swimming, and able to hold her breath underwater for about 5 minutes.
-Her anger can be exploited.
-Her anxiety can be exploited as well.
-Despite being the Uruz rune bearer, she does not have any combat experience, capabilities, or training for that matter in that area.
-She is a killable mortal
Brief History: A girl with a middle-class upbringing in the Deep South, her father (a Scandinavian immigrant’s son) was a local mechanic who took to fixing cars and had married his high-school sweetheart after she got out of college with a Criminal Justice degree. Though his wife became a lawyer, they were always very close and kept in contact with each other despite the stress of their jobs. They eventually had four kids: Lina, Erik, Kristie, and Wade, and their home was filled with the scampering of the kids and much of the usual hijinks four children could viably get into. Yet for Lina herself, she caught her father’s “mechanic bug” and eventually started learning with him how to fiddle with things, make them, and put them together.
Eventually, by some unknown event, Lina’s father died when a gas explosion happened at his place of work. The result left Lina’s mother the only financial provider at home, and the then 16 year old Lina was in turn left virtually alone to help manage the house and care for her siblings in part. It was a...growing up moment, a struggle at first that she had to adjust to and master as best as she could. Her tinkering and such hobbies picked up along with this, however, to help her cope with the added stresses of being an older sibling having to pick up what slack her dad’s death had left behind.
When the Uruz rune appeared on her body, she was swimming at the time and found herself ramming head-first into the pool wall....and making an actual lengthy crack into the side of it with great force and speed. She was surprised like anyone else there, to say the least, and she walked off after the incident was theorized to be because of a structural fault in the pool by staff.
She'd barely been home a few hours, caring for her siblings, when a ring came at the door. Several people in suits were there, like some kind of secret service members in appearance, and it soon evolved into a conversation at the door about her being the "last Rune to be found" and "chosen by Odin" and something about preventing the apocalypse. However, this was quite a lot to throw at the tinkerer, enough that even after she thought about it she politely refuse and closed the door. She was no battler, she was a tinkerer, and frankly she had her own thoughts about the end of the world.
This...did not seem to sit well with the other party, who after a week of her pushing their approaches away made a public announcement in her town that "one of the saviors of mankind doesn’t want to prevent the apocalypse cause she doesn’t feel like it".
Safe to say, this went very badly for Lina as a result. It started with just angry emails, phone calls from strangers, and some people in public giving her dirty looks. Eventually, her usual tools and parts place eventually blocked her from coming on the premises, and her siblings began to see harassment and bullying at school. She couldn't get a job, even, after her mother was fired from her job for reasons of "her daughter" when the Blessed's announcement continued to go viral. Even the local grocery stores wouldn't let them buy groceries, or would otherwise drop eggs and spill products without giving refunds.
It culminated in one night, where several people threw rock at her home. Teenagers, with supporting adults watching on from their cars they had driven over in. All that pressure, all of that anger, it pushed Lina to finally snap after hiding her siblings and mother in a nearby closet. She stepped out, catching some stones and trying to plead for the people to stop. Then began the taunts and jeers were made at her by the attackers and their parents, a few whom began drinking and enjoy the sight like it was a picnic.
They acted like they were somehow just in this. Like any of those assholes were JUST in all of this. The rocks didn't even hurt her, they couldn't but as windows were smashed and she heard the laughing...and she snapped in that moment. Jeers at her ancestry, the hate thrown at her family members, the vile side of the people of this town tossed onto her...as a scapegoat for the world's suffering. Her family barely could get food as it was, their vehicles were broken, life had become literal hell all because she was chosen for something she didn't want to do.
She returned the stones, then, without thinking about it in her blinding pent-up rage that had finally erupted from within her. Then the police showed up after neighbors called them on her, and their bullets plunked off of her skin harmlessly. It became a sort of small rampage, resulting in the Blessed rapidly arriving on scene after being called about the incident. Lina was rapidly incapacitated, bound, and then carted off by the group to some facility or another.
Safe to say, Lina’s not exactly a happy person with what has happened, or the death, or being arrested and contained by the Blessed. She's not happy about all of the “hero” and “stopping Ragnarok” nonsense she was told to boot. Though its not like she’s made an escape attempt....yet, anyways.
Other: Cooks good burgers, and was voted “most likely to MacGyver her way out of a bad situation” in high school.
Tagged for this and the above Surtr app (forgot to tag you there...sorry DX).
Rune/Location: Sowilo, on the back of her left hand.
Rune Powers: Sowilo, the rune of sunlight, warmth, and fire.
Manifestation and manipulation of fire, flame, and heat. Impervious to burns and extremely high temperatures.
Description: Mina stands at a neat six feet in height, with the slim, lean figure. Her features are soft and dotted with faint freckles across her nose and cheekbones, framed by a voluminous head of natural black curls that fall to her mid-back. She has an even, light tawny complexion and honey colored eyes. She bears a thick Southern accent, and a smile set just a hair off-center by a dimple on only one side.
Personality: Warm, determined, and level-headed. Despite her rune’s incendiary tendencies, Mina keeps a cool head in high-stress situations. She possesses a strong sense of purpose, and a belief that everyone has a role to play in the greater scheme of things. While being a peacemaker in most situations, she will absolutely fight you over any (wrong) opinions you have regarding sweet tea.
Medical training, specializing in cardiac care Excellent grasp of anatomy and pathology Pretty clever, and excellent under pressure Decent stamina; hobbyist distance runner
No active combat experience Limited applicable fighting skill Unsweetened tea
Brief History: Mina was born to an agricultural engineer and an orthopaedic surgeon in the city built upon what was once Savannah, Georgia. She spent most of her childhood alternating between playing outside whenever she could, and perusing medical documentaries and textbooks.
When the time came, she was accepted to a top premedical program, followed by her first choice of medical school, and then began a surgical residency at a major treatment center. By this point, she had acquired a decent apartment, started training for a half-marathon within the year, and put in an adoption application to an Australian Shepherd rescue.
It was all going very well for Doctor Aldridge.
And then, on a rather unfortunate Tuesday morning, the sink spontaneously combusted whilst she was trying to scrub in.
Powers: Like all Dwarves, Layne has a particular talent for tinkering. Metals, crystals, and stone are significantly more pliable at his touch, allowing him to reshape them with only his hands. He can build astoundingly sophisticated pieces of machinery and weapons from only gears, springs, and steam. Strangely, his work seems to come from a form of genetic memory, as questions regarding how they function are generally met with shrugs and dismissive comments about "dwarf shit". He is also significantly stronger and more durable than the average human, his thicker than normal bones and skin able to turn aside knives and small caliber guns with only minor injury.
Description: At 6'6" and nearly 220lbs, Layne is built like a very angry oak tree. His skin is a leathery, sun tanned brown, clashing with his pale blond hair and bright jade green eyes. He generally keeps his hair pulled back in a short tail, and his bristly beard always seems to be a little singed. His features are rough, craggy, his heavy brow giving the impression that he might have been carved from the walls of the cave he likely grew up in. His right front tooth and left canine have been replaced with silver. Judging by the mismatched scars covering his hands, arms, and face (as well as the crooked nose and missing teeth), he's been in a healthy number of fights. . He favors heavy work boots, jeans, and flannel shirts. Often wears a flat billed cap
Personality: Loud and uncouth, Layne has a personality big enough to match his frame. He loves and hates in extremes, as quick to make friends as he is to make enemies. Perhaps overly fond of roistering and quick to a scrap. Can be surprisingly kind and softhearted around his friends, though he'd likely deny it. He's got a deep streak of greed, an obsession with hoarding all things shiny. He will call you racist if you point this out.
Skills: -As mentioned above, he's very good with machines -Reasonably skilled fighter, though he relies more on brute strength than technique -Can take a serious beating -Makes fine weapons and equally attractive jewelry -Distills liquor -Plays a mean banjo
Weaknesses: -Fairly slow on his feet -Sinks in water like a rock -Frankly, sort of dumb. Easily misled.
Brief History: [WIP]
Other: One would be advised not to make any comments about maggots.
Just gonna leave this here because I have an irrational fear of my browser crashing and losing my progress.
Full Name: Reclamation Experiment 1
Nicknames/Aliases: RE-1, RE1
Powers: Enhanced Healing Factor, Ability to take Lindwyrm Form.
Description: RE1, at a glance would not really give the impression of a powerful creature. In fact, she looks quite weak and sickly on first impression. She's on the short side, and very skinny and pallid looking, with dark rings around her eyes. She lacks a lot in the way of feminine curves, though it's hard to tell as she tends to wear loose-fitting clothing. Her hair grows in silver and is long and thick. She has green eyes with big irises and slit-like pupils. It makes her non-human nature rather clear. This is combined by sharp, pointed canine and premolar teeth. Her blood is green. RE-1 has been tattooed onto her neck on one side.
Personality: Unpredictable might be a good word for RE1.
For the most part, the lindwyrm is a quiet, meek, self-deprecating sort. She is extremely grateful of just about any sort of positive reactions from others, and tends to be extremely keen to please those who have been kind to her, and mortified upon realizing she's upset them. She's quite intelligent, even if her rather animalistic tendencies don't leave this too obvious, and in many ways this works against her, as she tends to very much overthink her own actions.
Then, there are her issues with instability.
There is almost a sense with RE1 that her human persona is a bit of a veneer on something altogether more monstrous. Any considerable stress sees RE1's higher functions overwhelmed and sees her default to far less human behaviour. Hunting, hiding, mauling opponents in the most horrific ways, and, perhaps the most unpleasant to a civilized person, the drive to consume prey, and even enemies, raw in order to fuel her abilities. It does not take a lot to push RE1 into these behaviours, and her lack of reasoning in extreme situations can at times make her a liability.
Skills: -If she has the biomass to do so, RE1's human form is able to generate a lindwyrm body around her, becoming a large, monstrous creature. The wyrm is strong, fast, and destructive, and has a very potent venom in its bite.
-In human form RE1 has a very innate advantages. She is unnaturally strong and agile, able to climb walls and ceilings with ease. Her healing factor largely outstrips a human's and she is able to recover form things a human could not, including the ability to regenerate lost limbs.
Weaknesses: -RE1 often struggles with interactions on a human level, lacking instinctive knowledge of social cues.
-Her animalistic nature is far more dominant as a wyrm, and as such her usage in combat is seen as something of a last resort, a nuclear option of a kind. The wyrm is powerful, but will almost invariably cause a lot of damage through its use, possibly harm others in the vicinity, and generally eliminate much chance of a live capture.
Brief History: RE1 is the result of some of The Blessed's recent research on using World Eater species themselves as a means to destroy attackers during a breach. This was achieved by acquiring samples of World Eater species at a young age, and training them to work for the organisation. These experiments were largely a failure, as most would eventually turn on their captors. The most promising result was their first, a lindwyrm with shapeshifting ability who displayed an ongoing good demeanour towards staff... however the damage costs associated with its usage were considerable. As such, the Blessed were generally fairly hesitant to use RE1 unless other teams had already failed. As such the wyrm usually spends most of her time in the lower levels, prohibited from transforming.
@Reflection You’re free to add stuff later as long as you talk to me about it beforehand and don’t just sneak stuff on! I would say he’s approved. Also, hit me up if you wanna work on a pre existing dynamic between him and Nidhoggr, since they likely do know each other from the whole “message transmit” thing.
I took a slight liberty in having Arla and Delia seeing eachother shortly once before, but with her getting there after getting into a fistfight with a Warg, I didn't think it would be much of a stretch.
Well, it sucks that I won't be able to make discount Archer again, but I guess discount All Might could be cool too. Is Uruz still free, or did I miss it? And if I did, would it be possible for me to make some normal guy who doesn't have the powers but gets dragged into everything anyway?
@Rabidporcupine Unfortunately, Uruz has been taken. However, you're definitely welcome to make a non-powered human still! Blessed are basically supposed to be characters involved in the action that are pretty much just normal people fighting World Eaters.
@EchoicChamber Ok cool! Question though. Considering my guy will, you know, have no powers, how likely is he to die brutally? And how can I sneak around that probability while still being ingrained in the main plot an helping people?
