Presidio
Vision colored only by the backs of her eyelids, Presidio nodded at 4Sight’s response, wishing he had elaborated on the others. Despite that failing, she understood, he was likely juggling other more pertinent thoughts such as strategies and how to utilize his own abilities and considerable experience best.

Her attention shifting she finished the rest of her armor, allowing its various components to remain floating entirely out of the way, unmoving despite the motion of the helicopter. With that finished she called to mind images of compound bows, frowned, and then opened her eyes. Swiftly she extracted her phone, opened a search engine, swiftly typing in a related search. Even as it loaded Presidio began creating more forcefields. As she honed in on a set of designs she duplicated her initial work and created the remaining necessary parts before closing off her phone and stowing it away. Setting to the task with a fierce diligence, Kari expanded upon her initial designs, stress testing where she could, and losing some awareness of her surroundings despite the constant motion and noise.

While she worked, SWAT addressed her and without opening her eyes, she responded. “Hard to say, but I’m confident that they can if they’re layered sufficiently. What is it you have in mind?” Following that, Kari fell silent, focusing on her work.

They touched down while she worked and she let the others disembark first. Once everyone was out of the way she extracted herself from the various protective belts and then, with a mental command, pulled her forcefields inwards. As she stepped out of the craft, dozens of forcefields of various size and shape arranged themselves and locked into place on her form, slotting into armor that was both decorative and functional--something that mundane armor would not be quite so well suited to accomplish. At one point there appeared gauntlets around her forearms and hands, but they quickly became enclosed by another set of interlocking shields and mechanisms. Even as they fitted into place she began locking most of them in, letting them shift purpose.

Briefly her gaze swept over her teammates before observing the street, the buildings, and then--high above--the situation that had brought them all there. Frowning slightly, Presidio couldn’t help but be daunted by the sheer scope of it. The quantity of the wires and cords entangling the helicopter, encapsulating the hostages, and keeping the far away figure aloft. Narrowing her eyes faintly she fixed an expression somewhere between honest determination and an imperious cold across her features. The woman had taken hostages and held their lives in her hands and while she’d known before, seeing it was something different.

Presidio flexed and clenched her fingers and in an instant forcefields rapidly began to pop into existence around her. Quite intentionally she took several steps away from her comrades, giving herself room to work. In the seconds that 4Sight used his power, she used hers, crafting several things at once, though this time with her eyes open. She called to mind arrows and as they were relatively simple things, she was able to quite easily construct them, but perhaps from more components than one might expect. When one was finished, it would “collapse” into itself, becoming shorter before floating swiftly into a compartment within the set of constructs that encased her arms.

By the time 4Sight stumbled, drawing her eye, she had roughly two dozen of the arrows crafted and hidden away. Their squad leader spoke and she nodded, frowning ever so slightly before the expression slipped away, leaving only a slight tension in her features as she spoke, “I don’t like this.” She directed her gaze back to the shaker, scanning for more details. She leaned forward slightly and squinted, as if that might help her see and while it didn’t she still managed to confirm something. “I think we have independents on scene,” she said, soundly only faintly unsure.

Then, before she could reevaluate their situation or say anything further, chaos ripped loose across the street before them and her eyes widened in an instant of confusion, which was followed swiftly by dawning terror. Wire had torn across the empty street in devastating fashion, shattering glass, cutting away at vehicles, and otherwise causing tremendous damage. Her mouth opened and she took a step back, but caught herself, not allowing any more retreat than that. She shut her mouth, lips pressed into a thin line as the noise and chaos of it all swiftly diminished, glass tinkling to the ground in an unpredictable staccato of sound.

While fear had dominated, she let a thread of anger well up to balance it, then tempered that as well, even as she shifted her awareness to her power, distracting herself from the statement that the villain’s actions had made.

“I don’t think she has any interest in talking this out. 4Sight, can you get us more information about the positions of the hostages?”

As she spoke her forcefields folded themselves into incredibly thin, notched chains, which fitted into one another and began to connect to the larger construct of her armor, specifically at her back and looping around to the constructs enclosing her gauntlets. By this point she was a figure outlined in an expanding halo of blue, almost crystalline, forcefields. Around her a veritable aura of additional shields continued to appear and arrange themselves to her will.

While she said nothing further aloud, Kari had made a decision. First she and her squad would assure the safety of the hostages...then she would take out and thoroughly restrain their target.

If she had her way, the woman just might find herself restricted by the uncaring embrace of someone else’s power.
Exactly
Despite his suggestion, it seemed that the beast of a cape had decided to take on the more easily accessed target. Understandable, if rather annoying. Tilting his head he watched at the startling display of speed and violence as his sole ally charged and attacked the woman. Something flew across his field of view, passing from one end of his multiple perspectives to the other in a frantic rush where it then struck the woman. She toppled, the door avoided, though through outside means. His gaze casually slid across the room as he advanced, shifting to her partner. Briefly his grin widened, but as the man spoke, threatening lives--and with a conviction the woman had lacked--the mirth in his eyes went cold. At the edges of their awareness faint glimpses of his various duplicates would begin to make themselves known. Each looked faintly different, something that was a result of his state of dress during their creation.

Noting this development, Exactly began to pick up the pace, approaching with renewed vigor. As the monstrous cape attempted to attack the woman a gunshot rang off, aimed at a hiding child. A cold anger flashed through him as he processed the villain’s threat and--worse still--his blatant disregard for life. Driven to disable the bastard, Exactly pushed off into a dead sprint, his movements undetected. In but a moment he found himself across the room, and directly in front of the counter that the menacing villain stood upon.

Without any remorse or hesitation, Exactly drew back his baton, met the man’s still unseeing eyes, and then drove the baton--with all his strength--into the side of the bastard’s shin. Immediately, Exactly generated a duplicate, then darted to the right three feet. The duplicate would appear as if it was recovering from having struck the man with a baton, taking a step back before lunging back up and at the man in what appeared to be a tackle. It moved with speed and grace that was slightly off as if unencumbered by the world. Still, it would be well within the man’s ability to react.

The same could not be said for the second strike, which came at an odd angle just as the illusory form of his power lunged at the man. Rather than strike at the man himself, Exactly had deigned to slam the point of his baton into the raised gun in his hand with the express intent of disarming him.

The smile on both his and the duplicate’s lips was one of cold mockery, without empathy, and with clear disdain.

Exactly loathed murderers.

SWAT tilted his head slightly, watching Presidio with interest as she formed her layers of armor. After a few seconds he replied, "I would like you to form a protective shell around me as well. Preferably something I can still be mobile in." Whether or not she had the time or chose to do so was entirely up to her. For the duration of the flight SWAT rechecked his equipment to ensure their performance.

Then Judah glanced at Slingshot as he lost his lunch. He chuckled to himself and thought, Rookies. Everyone in their line of work had to go through the crucible at some point. Judah was just glad the kid had experienced people like 4Sight to guide him during his. Judah patted him reassuringly on the shoulder and spoke through his comm, "It'll be alright. I need your help. When we touchdown lift me onto one of the higher buildings so I can begin talking to the kidnapper."

The ride continued uneventfully to their destination. When they arrived on scene, SWAT hopped out of the heli with his megaphone, and took in the sights. His tinker tech eye fixated upon the parahuman suspended in the air and a helicopter held up by nothing other then her string powers. It was very similar to another parahuman he worked with years ago. Judah wondered what similarities the two had. "I wonder if she's psychotic as well..." he muttered to himself.

As if to answer his musings, multiple deadly threads crashed below Spindle's perch. She demanded to talk and dropped her megaphone below. Definitely psychotic.. He thought to himself.

Then Judah looked over to 4Sight and asked, "Permission to get in as close as possible to her on that roof. With my powers and this megaphone I can begin negotiations." He pointed to a relatively tall building in the vicinity. With the extra height, Judah's powers would be able to reach the kidnapper. Albeit, at their limit.

With 4Sight's permission, Slingshot's gravity assist, and Presidio's forcefield's SWAT felt he could lay the groundwork for some productive negotiations. At the same time, it would afford the others time to begin locating the hostages and freeing them if things went south.

Two gunshots rang out and Basilisk knew from the screams that people were getting hurt, the splatter of blood from the guard’s ruined shoulder spraying across the floor and causing more screams from the people scattered around the room. Hostages only mattered if you cared about them though, and these people, to cowardly to run when they saw the danger, he couldn’t care less. Ignoring the screamed threat he squared up on the shaking Vanish, her hands pointed his way but he figured that anything fired at a high enough impact was likely to puncture rather than push him back when he put his weight behind the attack. His back tensed, tail lashed, and he was about to leap upon the would be bank robber, in his mind’s eye he could already see her head clenched in his claws. Then came the whistle and the third shot.

Sunken eyes followed the line of fire from the gun to where he could see a hole pierced through the surface of a toppled table. But what he saw behind the table was enough to freeze him in place as if his own blood had suddenly turned against him. A child, clutched by their mother was wide eyed with terror, scratches on their face from the shattered floor tiles. He had shot at a kid, and if his steady aim was anything to go by he was planning on following through with the threat on the next shot.
“That’s a kid.” He looked to Vanish and his body bristled with anger in an almost palpable way. “Your buddy just shot at a little kid and their momma. I swear if he does it agai-” His threat was interrupted by the sound of Percy yelling out after a dull thud. Had the teller grown a pair of balls and taken a swing at him?

Apparently not, there was someone there dressed in...a costume? It was worse than either Vanish’s or the man behind the counter. Batons in hand he looked like he was about to bullrush the man with the gun, and that was distraction enough. Basilisk turned and charged towards the table and the kid, intent on putting his body between Percy and the table. On the turn he lashed out with his tail towards Vanish’s ankle, intent on catching her with it and taking her along for the sprint.

The ride had been fun but Calvin Ball was just as excited as she felt the helicopter touch-down, hands moving to undo the harness straps that held her in place. In her hurry not to hold anyone behind her up she was almost clotheslined by a strap that had made its way around her neck, letting out a surprised “Hurk!” before quickly working herself free. Hoping no one had noticed she scrambled to evacuate the helicopter and get her boots back on the ground.

There had barely been enough time for her to get into line before the ground rumbled and the wind rushed, the eyes on the expressive lenses of her mask went wide and the destruction left her jaw hanging open as wires tore the street apart. Blurring metal cutting through anything in its path and left nothing standing. It was right then she was starting to feel very, very out of place. She wasn’t the kind of person who easily made friends or could talk someone out of doing something, often quite the opposite if she were being honest. And with hostages around there wasn’t a chance she could really let her power go full blast, not without hurting someone. Everyone around her seemed confident that they could do something here, make a difference. She could even hear some of them making plans already. And here she was, wrapped up in the shock and awe tactics of a supervillain, rooted to the spot. Maybe she wasn’t ready for something like this? It reminded her of the day the golden man had gone mad, and that memory was enough to leave her visibly shaking in her armor. Under her breath she murmured to herself. “Oh no..” But to her credit Calvin had made no move to back away. She would move forward, all it would take would be a word from Blur.. she could follow orders still, she hoped.

Mastar darted back towards the other two girls as soon as she could. The dodges that she had just made were way too close for comfort, and she wasn't about to get fried by the blasts from either Manifold or from these Nazis. She couldn't fight them head on, meaning her strategy of standing on top of the other tanks to try and get them to blast eachother wouldn't work. Time to change things up a little bit.

She couldn't keep dodging the attacks that were sent her way, but she could try and obstruct the path for the tanks. Now that she could grow without issue, the new plan was to do exactly that - grow amidst the grass before launching a ton of tar towards the road that the tanks were taking. Sure, it was a dirt road, but if she sent enough of her tar onto it then there'd still be a similar effect to what she was trying to do, which was make an oil slick. If the tanks drove over that, they'd either have to stop or they'd risk spinning out of control.

Mastar themself, meanwhile, kept darting back towards Manifold since Arson had moved in. As soon as they could, they shifted back into their more humanoid form as they looked over at the tinker. "I tried to make an oil slick. Probably chunked around thirty-ish pounds off me. Any ideas?" they asked, still looking at the tanks so they could stay out of the way of the barrel that might fire on them.

Aesthetic heard the whir of helicopter blades and turned to face the source, seeing some Final Guard Members entering the scene finally. It had certainly taken them a hot minute to actually arrive, but hopefully now that they were there situations would be a little less hectic. There were already a bunch of capes on the scene, which easily didn't help what was going on. That being said, nobody seemed to want to make the first move, which was undoubtedly a good idea. Everyone was waiting for the Guard to make the first move, since this was really their battle to fight. Aesthetic was mainly there for support if the situation escalated to that point, though she was still a little foggy on whether her power burned people all the time or just when she wanted them to be burnt. With how she could express it, she figured the latter was applicable.

She stepped over to the side of the building, stretching a little bit before crouching down besides the ledge. There wasn't any need to stand if she was waiting, unless she wanted to be ready. Even then, she would've had to descend down the side of building first before she could join, not that she couldn't go down fast or anything. She can technically stretch her limbs to gain about thirty more meters between her hands and feet. If the guard needed her, she'd join, but until then...

"I dunno if the Guard people down there can hear me or anything, but if you need my powers for your help, you've only but to ask." She was genuinely unsure, though she did hope someone down there had a power that gave them observational abilities to hear her with.

Enki

Enki kept a close eye—or rather, a close eye, ear, and nose—on their surroundings as the situation escalated, and as it turned out, there was quite a lot to pay attention to: the occasional movement of wire, an idle chuckle, the sound of footsteps on metal, and rather interestingly, the distant sound of another chopper approaching, before making its retreat.

It seems the Guard have finally arrived, Enki mused. Now, if only I had a reason to leave this crummy alley.

Before Enki could even parse all of that, however, the wires that were positioned on the ground and over by the street lifted up violently, before sweeping every which way, slicing and smashing into everything in their path.

Enki was quick to respond, pushing back hard with one foot at the asphalt of the alley. The push lifted them off the ground for a brief moment and away from any potential danger. Thankfully, it seemed that the manoeuvre was more a show of force than an actual attack, as Enki soon realised that the attack wasn't really aimed at anyone, and it certainly hadn't extended into the alley where they were situated.

Unfortunately, Enki's hasty reaction earlier did a number on the pavement. [i]So much for being careful with my strength,[i] Enki thought as they sighed dejectedly.

"Let's talk," Spindle's voice cut through the air. A moment later Enki heard something clatter to the ground.

Judging by that sound, that must be the megaphone she used...

Enki found themselves smiling again. Even if it could potentially anger her, the prospect was too exciting for Enki to just let it slip by.

Enki emerged from the alleyway and into the open a moment later, and despite being barefoot, they didn't seem to mind the ground being littered with glass as they made their way over to the dropped megaphone at a leisurely place.

Enki stared up at Spindle, grinning, their brilliant green eyes shining under the sun.

With a swift motion, Enki used a foot to knock the megaphone into the air, before picking it up. "I hope I'm not intruding by barging in like this, but would you mind it terribly if I skipped the line a little bit?" Enki asked, their words peppered with cheeky amusement.

Tanks?

Fucking tanks?

Hell, and Will had thought the one raider group with an APC was bad. Did they really have zero capes looking out for shit like this? And I thought this was supposed to be the big city.

Or maybe they did - he thought he spotted at least two other capes dealing with them. No, wait - three, assuming that weird sludge was a Changer rather than some Tinker bullshit. Okay, that meant he couldn't just dash in head-on. He'd have to try to cut around, time things to land right next to the pair by the car...yeah, that'd do it. Then he could make sure nobody was stupid enough to put a hand in his trail or anything, and not block the Tinker's line of sight. Right. Plan made. Get your ass in gear, hero boy.

His power helped him pick out the rough distance he'd need to go, estimating a good few minutes at about middling speed, slowing down near the end. A smile tugged at his lips as he flipped down the mini-binoculars of his multitool and stowed it in his belt. He knew he shouldn't really be thinking this way...but damn, was it going to be good to deal with some bastards with actual law enforcement to take care of them afterward. Settling his helmet, he crouched down, arms out in a runner's crouch that didn't help at all but just felt right. His power responded, an energy seeming to grow stronger, stronger...and release!

(And in his breaker state, with that peculiar bit of disinhibition he only felt like this, he could finally admit - it was going to feel good to do something other than just run from town to town, too.)

He curved wide around the main road at a healthy speed he estimated to be around 75 mph, approaching the stopped car from the side, ahead of the oncoming tanks. Within a few yards, he braked, slowing the...whatever it was that kept him going...down to his minimum speed. Despite that, he still had to weave a little bit to burn the last of his charge before he could come closer and pop out. I'm out of practice. Ignoring the trail behind him, he strode up to the Tinker standing on the car's roof - the other cape was apparently attacking the tanks with her bare hands, for some goddamn reason. Brute, I guess. "Alright, introductions. I'm Jackalope, those tanks are a fucking problem, and you're the heroes stopping them. Good, introductions done. Want me to make a trail around them, or do you have a plan already?"

The Great Heist

A City Turned to Chaos

"What the fuck? Tanks, a chopper, and the Fallen? Are you serious, Lily?"

"Yeah. I put the Exiled on the tanks, the Guard are responding to the chopper situation, but I didn't notice anything with the Fallen. They got in for whatever they wanted to do, and today's a bad day for it. I could track them and I wouldn't mind if any of you wanted to come with. No worries if you don't want to take the risk, of course, but I -"

"Lily, shut up. I'm coming. And - yeah, see the others want to come too. Just try not to get shot this time, will you?"

"I'll try. Just because you asked so nicely, haha."

"Alright, good. Because I might break up with you if you didn't try."

"You'd never."

"Let's get going. You said they went away from the chopper, yeah?"

"Yup. With your powers I don't think we'll need the van. And Ash? I can't wait to hear about your adventure this morning when we're done."

Final Guard and Junior Guard

The display of force caused some of the heroes to take a step back, all of the wards except Calvin, as well as Slingshot and Presidio. 4Sight didn't need to activate his power again to answer Presidio. He met her eyes to answer the question. "One is between Spindle and the helicopter, about thirty feet behind her. Most of the others are on the ground, slowly being tied up, with one being raised into the air. That's on the right side of the road, you might be able to see them from here." He said and pointed.

4Sight let out a breath as he closed his eyes again, letting a moment pass before opening his third eye. He was once again level with Spindle, watching her bounce on her wire with no regard for the height.

Slingshot nodded at SWAT's question a bit too quickly before speaking. "Yeah I can do it, but it's going to be a rough landing. The forcefields might help, but I don't know how durable they are. " He said, his voice gaining more confidence the longer he talked. "If I get closer to the hostages, I can save them from falling, but that should be a last resort."

As the conversation briefly paused, 4Sight spoke to the group. "Someone just entered the danger zone" He sounded at once frustrated and confused.

The Shaker

Seeing a couple of the capes retreat slightly brought a smile to Spindle's face. They had lost the first exchange already The second the megaphone hit the ground, a thin wire tugged at Spindle's hand to drag her attention downward. Someone was leaving the nearest alley, making their way towards the discarded tool. A tall androgynous figure who's features she couldn't discern. They deftly kicked the megaphone into the air, seeming amused as they caught it. They spoke and Spindle tried at first to stifle her giggles, but she couldn't quite do it. She lifted her hand and waved it a bit, a symbol of dismissal as she laughed.

Her giggles quieted and she worked to compose herself enough to exaggerate a shrug, before pointing at the Final Guard. 'They were here first' Spindle mouthed, half to herself and half to her guest. After a beat she pulled a nearby wire slightly. Without further communication, nearby wire raised into the air around her guest in a semi circle. It advanced slightly, before more joined it. After they were thick enough that the other side could barely be seen, some of the inner wires spelled out a message for only dear Enki to see.

Smiling, Spindle turned back to the Final Guard to watch them scheme. Her own plan was already underway, wires pinned against the sides of buildings staying suspended in preparation. Another web woven.

The Fallen

The Hunt

"Well, sometimes you have to take a risk to help those you care about," the woman said simply.

A few moments later, before Edith could properly reply to such an odd statement, a shadow briefly flitted across them.. As Edith’s head snapped up she had only moments to react as a pale, alien body rocketed towards her, tendrils covered in mouths and tongues streaming behind it. It’s face was mostly smooth with small cracks that glowed a bright blue.

Transcendent. She knew him, and that could only mean there were more Fallen closing in on her at this very moment. If he was here she might even already be surrounded without having realized it. Had the woman led her into a trap? Or was she just an unlucky bystander caught up in something while trying to be helpful?

Edith dived to the side, steam beginning to creep off of her body as she prepared for a fight. Transcendent landed between her and the woman, not even breaking the pavement as he seemed to be light as a feather. His tendrils floated around him as he crouched before they lashed out towards Edith and in an instant he was moving towards her. From behind her she could hear the rev of engines and behind Transcendent she saw two jeeps turn onto the street full of people.

Red Eye

The Bank

Dumb brute. He's the reason- Percy's thought was cut short by a sharp pain to his shin. A very sharp pain. He toppled, actively shifting his weight to fall on his right shoulder. It would probably hurt later, but he couldn't tell right now through the pain in his left leg. Forcing his eyes open, he saw a man who hadn't been there before moving to tackle him. His power buzzed in his ears, meeting his fight or flight need with a weakness in his enemy. Out of the corner of his eye he watched the large creature start moving towards the boy, simultaneously trying to grab Vanish with his tail. She reacted by putting a large oak table between the two of them and backing up slightly. Seconds later and she'd taken a defensive stance with her hands out.

"One more step and I'll do something we'll both regret," she said with a slight waver to her voice.

Percy's power seemed to slow his perceptions momentarily, informing him of the new threat, how the man was vulnerable. Visibly sneering, he was already moving towards Percy. Or he would've been, if that was the real one he was looking at. Percy acted, rolling off the teller's counter. It was the fastest way to get his arm moving in the direction of the swing he couldn't see, allowing him to barely feel the baton as it skimmed his wrist. In the brief moment of being airborne, Percy raised his uninjured leg, and dropped the gun. His left hand caught the gun, and his right hand caught the counter. He grunted and pulled, his inhuman strength and speed letting him catch himself on the counter and look the newcomer in the eye. The invisible newcomer, so Percy was actually staring at empty space. It was weird, knowing someone was there in every fiber of your being and looking right through them at the same time.

"Stay right there crocodile man, I haven't forgotten about you. You are one dumb, invisible mother fucker. Two Pinky's and no brain to speak of. Vigilantes like you aren't allowed because you call bluffs and people die. Let us walk out of here with our money and no one else needs to get hurt. If you force us to stay, you get to explain to the cops why you have a dead ex-cop and a dead kid in an attempted bank robbery, when you could've let us leave. They'll love that you saved the banks insured money that the tellers are told to give at the slightest threat."

Percy said, eyes and gun steady on where his power told him the enemy was. It wasn't actually Percy talking now, he felt like he was out of his own body. Removed from it while still somehow involved. He hadn't known the security guard was an ex-cop, he still didn't know if the table the kid was hiding behind was bullet proof or not. None of it felt wrong, through, it felt natural to give in to his power as the situation escalated. If this went longer, if it was needed, his power could keep escalating. It was close to the point now that if the confrontation lasted a minute longer, his power wouldn't take his want to escape into consideration anymore.

Exiled

Not with a bang...But with an Explosion

As Ana landed into the side of the tank it rocked visibly. She could feel it was made of sturdier stuff than she was used to punching, but after a single punch she’d already made a noticeable dent in the hull. The tank, meanwhile, continued on its path despite the baggage on its hull.

The second tank, meanwhile, rocked back onto the road and directly into Mastar’s tar. It didn’t slide, but it did seem to be slowing down before it made it halfway across.

Manifold glanced over towards Mastar but before she could reply there was a new arrival on the scene. She frowned at him, jumping off the truck as her arm reformed, before picking him up and throwing him bodily behind the truck. She then promptly pulled something from her belt and threw it in front of her. It began to shoot what seemed like a gel up before it solidified as a wall between her and the tanks. Moments later it rocked as a projectile landed into it, the tip penetrating through to poke out next to Manifold.

She shook her head as she moved towards the newcomer, signing angrily.

<<What the fuck are you doing getting between tanks and a fucking tinker? Fucking rookies.>> She shook her head again, clearly irritated as she pointed towards the tanks and made a shooing motion towards the two other capes in front of her. Turning around she started working at the tank round that was in the gel. It seemed she was going to take it apart right there on the battlefield.

We have to move. Judah thought. Spindle had already begun communicating with some other unknown figure with a megaphone of their own. He unstrapped his Mp5 and handed it to 4Sight, "I won't need this." He wanted to come across as non-threatening as possible. Though he still kept his sidearm in its holster. The forcefields from Presidio shimmered upon him. He hoped they did much more then look neat. Judah did notice it was slightly harder to move. An effect of them perhaps?

Then he glanced at Slingshot and nodded affirmatively. Judah looked up toward the roof of the designated building. His megaphone in hand. Judah began floating upward. Gravity had shifted. SWAT began to feel a sensation of falling, yet they were moving up. Further and further they went until they reached the top of the roof.

Suddenly gravity reversed itself and he fell 5 feet above it. His force fields shimmered as he made contact with the building. Judah rolled to alleviate the force of impact and came to rest on one knee. He gave a thumbs up to Slingshot. The young man saluted Judah and went into a free fall below with the grace of a daredevil. Then Judah radioed the team, "I'm on the roof. Beginning negotiations."

SWAT stood and looked above directly at the parahuman terrorist about 150 feet away. His tinkertech eye fixated upon her. She did not appear to give off any signs of stress, or anxiety. Even her emotions though faint, were more like excitement. Judah could work with this.

SWAT raised the megaphone up to his mask and announced, "You wanted to talk Spindle. Here I am." Judah stretched his arms apart in a gesture of boldness. It was clear that the woman could simply shred him apart with her nasty wires. But she wanted something. His tone was respectful, yet confident. They could converse as equals. Ever so slightly, Judah began to release emotions of warmth and trust in her direction. Consciously she wouldn't even notice it. It was her subconscious Judah was after. His goal was to get Spindle to accept him. And perhaps, if things progressed well, trust him.

Arson

Arson Grunted as she smashed into the tank, felt like it was made of sterner stuff than normal which only served to reinforce that these tanks were tinker tech. Despite her attack, the tank was continuing on its path forward. Arson hopped off the side of the tank and started running alongside it thinking of what her next move should be, ramming into it over and over while fun might take a little too long to stop the tank from moving. Disabling the man gun was also a priority, perhaps she could do both at the same time... Actually, that might work...

Arson sped up so she could overtake the tank, she leapt onto the mostly flat front of the tank landing right next to the massive cannon barrel. She put a hand on the barrel and glanced down at the small hatch that sat to the right of the barrel, Arson gave the hatch a few powerful kicks, denting and warping the hatch hopefully making it unusable. The last thing she needed was a tinker flamethrower or tinker machinegun popping out and getting in the way. Arson then placed her second hand near the base of the cannons and started to pull, the thing wasn't going to come off easy that was for sure. "Come on you piece of shit. Arson growled as her grip tightened and continued to pull at the barrel.

The barrel was bloody hot, Arson felt her skin melting to her clothes. Fuck she'd have to get new ones now... As Arson started to bend the cannon, a hatch on the top of the tank opened up and an angry Nazi popped out and started shooting unloading on her with an assault rifle. Arson took a few bullets before she was able to aim her arm at the Nazi and let out a stream of fire from her wrist augment. If the top wasn't ruined before it was definitely ruined now.

The Nazi screamed and fell from the back out of the tank hatch, tumbling to the ground screaming as he writhed on the ground, futilely trying to extinguish the fire. Arson quickly put both hands back onto the barrel pulled with all her might. The barrel continued to bend and groan before finally, the base of the cannon gave way and popped off the tank sending Arson and the barrel off the side of the tank.

Arson slowly got to her feet, taking a moment to look at her horrifically burnt hands and forearms. She shook her head and rubbed the mix of burnt flesh and leather off her arms as one would rub on sunscreen. This exposed the muscle that lay under the thick layer of melted skin. Arson clenched her fists as she watched her wounds begin to heal, the skin quickly growing back over her muscle. Arson then picked up the massive metal cannon barrel and started burning her skin again but who cares? and sprinted off after the tank.

When she caught up she pointed the crooked cannon towards the link between one of the main gears and the smaller tank wheels. Lining it up Arson then rammed the tank barrel into the link and hoped that would stop the tank in its tracks. Pun intended.

Edith's expression changed from annoyed to confused in an instant. Though before she could say anything she noticed a shadow flash over her, looking up Edith spotted a familiar face. Transcendent. He was headed straight for her, and if he was here that meant backup was undoubtedly on the way. Quickly jumping back out of Transcendent's path Edith turned on her power and she quickly started to heat up, causing steam to cascade off her body.

Transcendent didn't let up leaping straight towards Edith again, as much as Edith wanted to just send a wave of fire at Transcendent the mysterious woman was behind him. So Edith opted to evade Transcendent again and roll to the side, Edith wanted to run but knew that as long as Transcendent was on her back she would never be able to escape. She would have to take him down first if she wanted to have any chance of escaping. But then came the problem of hurting bystanders, she'd have to give them some time to get away to avoid collateral. So, for now, it's a game of avoid the breaker. At the very least playing keep away would let Edith increase her temperature a little.

Exactly
Things happened almost too fast for him to process, with his target’s actions being not at all in line with his expectations. What?! he briefly exclaimed internally, only for the immediate realization to hit him a moment after. Thinker power. He grit his teeth and took deep breaths, reassessing the whole situation as his heart stuttered at the gaze--and gun--leveled upon him. It seemed, somehow, that his actions--and the irrational anger that had driven some of his decision making--had landed him squarely in a situation to which he was unaccustomed. Moving fractionally he found that his adversary’s gaze adjusted accordingly to match, Exactly discovered that he was well and truly at a disadvantage. Frowning to himself he lowered his weapons slowly, not sure if the villain could properly perceive him or not.

His power told him he could generate a duplicate, but he had a strong feeling that doing so would not facilitate him getting into a better position. Given how the cape before him had reacted--in every encounter thus far--he had a reasonable suspicion that the man had some kind of combat thinker power. Troublesome.

Deciding to give him nothing, Exactly remained motionless as his eyes darted around the room, considering the people who could currently perceive his other duplicates. The one he’d sicced on the man had ‘landed’ on the counter and now remained largely stationary, though its gaze gave him access to a greater understanding of the bank’s layout. The other duplicates he had active were visible by a civilian and by his only present ally. His frown deepened before suddenly an idea struck him. Suddenly, the first duplicate he’d generated sprinted out of and through the doors of the building outside of which were many onlookers. The nature of his power meant that they rationalized the frankly impossible actions of the duplicate. Swiftly, the duplicate began accosting people, making absolute sure the authorities had been called. It turned out that the police had been, but they were secondary, so he made sure someone else--through fear or apparent obligation--notified the Final and First Guard respectively all the while insisting that he did not have a phone on his person.

Eventually he got someone to relay incredibly detailed physical descriptions of both capes. All the while he remained motionless and silent within the bank, by all rights totally compliant with the villain’s request--albeit totally invisible. Similarly, he managed to get his unknowing accomplices outside to notify the authorities that hostages were involved and that both capes had actively threatened the lives of people inside. He relayed how they’d entered and as many other details regarding their actions--and what he’d observed of their powers--to the best of his ability.

In the same moments he directed another duplicate out the ‘entrance’ that the villains had made for themselves and then had them move at normally impossible speeds around the perimeter of the building, zipping between exits. He would know which way they exited and so long as they remained within his range, he could easily track them back to wherever they decided to hole up after their apparent success.

So it was that Exactly waited in smug silence for the rest of their actions, secure in the knowledge that he’d just gained an advantage in not the battle, but rather...the war.

Anger welled within Basilisk as he tried to think his way to get around this pest of a bank robber’s thinker power. Combat focused obviously but what was the gimmick?! He could be taken by surprise, he was fueled by emotion, and he seemed to know what Basilisk was going to do before he could even make a move. The nearby Vanish could see the spikes that the crocodillian man had clipped earlier in the morning, pushing past the flat of his scaled hide. His power healing the only thing it could find out of place as his mind rushed and his emotions flared. If I had my team here these two jokers wouldn’t stand a chance. He thought to himself, But they aren’t, they haven’t been around since the end of the world. His tail slammed into the linoleum floor with a heavy frustrated thud.

Frustration and anger, both useless right now. He needed to be smart here or this kid was going to catch a bullet, or the kid’s mother who had been to dumb to get them out of here when this shit had all kicked off. Slowly he turned to look at Vanish, his deep set eyes meeting hers without an ounce of worry. She could shread him with her power and he would still end up with a hand wrapped around her throat, but anyone behind him would suffer for any missed shots. This wasn’t something he could win, not even with a bargain bin hero trying to handle the thinker behind the counter. He leaned in closer to Vanish without reaching out towards her, squaring his shoulders and letting out a low growl. “I promise you, you’re going to regret your actions here today more than you can imagine. But not here, not right now.” He couldn’t fight this without less durable people catching a bullet. He was monstrous, but not like that. “You’ve got your money. Leave. Discount Rack, you should have caved in his skull when you had the chance, so bad job." With his piece said to those two he turned to face Percy. "You behind the counter, I will see you again. Soon. But for now I’m going to make sure the man you shot doesn't bleed out.”

Calvin stood on the curb watching as two of the heroes launched up into the air, a hint of jealousy panging at her as they went into the action. They were going to prove themselves in some way probably. She sighed in a way that sounded much calmer than she felt and watched the accent before turning to look at Dart. Her commanding officer seemed to be more intent on watching the accent of SWAT and Slingshot and the latter’s quick retreat. There were no orders, there was nothing more to do besides wait. And waiting was the worst thing Calvin could be doing after being so ready to go. Without really thinking about it her hands idly clasped in front of her and the needling feeling of her power beneath her palms sparked an orb into existence. The sphere created was nearly the size of an apple, tossed idly between each hand before she realized what she was holding and she let out an audible “Oh..that’s not good.” as she looked at it. In the back of her mind she remembered something her mother had said, idle hands being the devil’s plaything, or something very similar to that.

Werelight searched for a familiar term to describe the current situation, and found one after a few seconds. Mood whiplash, that was it.

Although Slingshot seemed less than appreciative of the helicopter ride, Werelight found that it had had the opposite effect on him. He'd always enjoyed flying, and although he could move himself around with his orb to an extent, he didn't really trust it enough to take it as high as the helicopter went. While the sound of the blades drowned out all noise apart from the chatter over the headphones, Werelight looked out at the city and let the worst of his excitement and anxiety fade as the buildings passed by below. Seeing the city laid out around him like this, even though he knew that he was headed into danger, made him relax for reasons that he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Why? he'd wondered to himself. Was it the knowledge that for the first time, he was going to really going to be a hero, that he'd be following in his sister's too-empty footsteps? Was it that seeing the city like this--the place that it was his job to defend--gave things a new sense of scale? Something else? All of the above?

By the time he disembarked, he hadn't made up his mind, and most of the adrenaline that he'd felt when he first made his way into the helicopter had faded. He concealed a small grin when Calvinball nearly clotheslined herself on her seatbelt in her hurry to get out. If only that could've been a different Ward. From what he could tell, Calvinball was nice; the same couldn't be said about most of his fellows.

And then not even a few seconds later, the attack had happened. Werelight's orb practically exploded out of him, coming to an abrupt halt between him and the nearest wires as he scrambled backwards a few steps, but nothing hit it. The attack stopped a few moments later.

Now the adrenaline was back.

For a few moments after, Werelight's orb hung in front of him protectively, responding instinctively. It drifted back toward him once it was clear that the danger wasn't immediate.

His shield wasn't going to help much, Werelight thought to himself as he looked at it. Not against that. No, he'd be better off without either it or the harness--they'd get in the way if he wanted to use his secondary power. He'd keep the harness ready, though, in case moving on foot wasn't going to be enough.

Werelight's thoughts were interrupted by a newcomer.

"I hope I'm not intruding by barging in like this, but would you mind it terribly if I skipped the line a little bit?"

A civilian? No, not wearing clothes like that. Not if they were barefoot in the city.

Werelight's orb drifted closer to him, not quite touching his hands but getting close enough that he'd be able to brush it casually. He wasn't sure whether this newcomer was going to cause any problems, but if it turned out that they were only putting themselves at risk, he might be able to get them to move with his secondary power. Hopefully things wouldn't come to that.

He kept his orb nearby as wires sprang up in Enki's vicinity and his senior teammates rose into the air. Time for negotiations, apparently. But...Werelight couldn't deny that he'd be disappointed if that's how it ended.

Again, that paradoxical desire for things to get worse so he'd have a chance to make them better.

"Oh...that's not good," he heard Calvinball mutter next to him. Turning his head, Werelight saw that she was holding a small projectile between her hands.

"What is it?" he asked, bringing himself out of his thoughts. "And do you know who that new guy is?" he added more quietly.

"Hello, mister quickster." Mastar said to Jackalope as she looked back towards the tanks, seeing the hell that Arson was currently raising. Jesus Christ on a bicycle, was she actually managing to eat that much delivered force onto her body? She was just taking it like it was absolutely nothing, though it really shouldn't have surprised Mastar as much as it did. It was still absolutely ridiculous how much punishment Arson could take. No doubt there's still gonna be clothes with inconvenient leather in spots in the firebarrel later. Great.

Snapping out of her train of thought, Mastar nodded to herself as an idea came back up in her head. If it were a few years ago, this'd be much more difficult, but as she's grown up with her powers she's gotten more and more used to them. Maybe she could get into one of the tanks...? It was a risky maneuver, sure, but if she could get into one of them and then pilot it herself, that might just be enough firepower to turn the tides of this. Maybe get these Nazis to turn their tails and get out of here.

It was an idea.

"You sweeties mind covering my rear~? I've got a naughty idea, but I'm gonna need nobody to shoot at me so I can get to a tank." Mastar asked the others, fading back into their old persona a little bit. Ah, the sultry Mastar was definitely a good Mastar, that's for sure. Within a few seconds after asking, Mastar's body fell into it's usual tarry form before making its way to the side, reforming into a slightly humanoid form, excluding her legs, which were simply replaced by a tarry wave, letting her move a little faster. To be honest, she was kinda relying on Arson drawing all the attention off her as she made her way over to a tank on the right. Hopefully, she could make it and launch herself onto a tank.

Jackalope bounced to his feet, glaring at the Tinker. "Okay, what the hell was that? I try to keep anyone from hurting themselves on my power, and -" He broke off as the other cape's hands moved in a flurry of strange gestures; he'd have suspected some weird Tinker control interface, but given her silence... "Shit. I don't know sign language. Okay, uh - my power trail can make a pretty good wall, keep the tanks from coming closer without getting diced up. Got a problem with -"

That was when another new cape seemed to...flow up next to them. Guess it was a Changer after all. "Call me Jackalope, it's pithier. Listen, I can cut off their advance - my trail's sharp enough to dice metal. Should make them hold still long enough for you to get in there for...whatever you're gonna do, and liquids don't cut so you'll probably be fine going through it. I'll hold off long enough for you to get in there." He dropped the Changer from his attention, noticing her flow off out of the corner of his eye. Focusing, he knelt, letting the tension of his power build. If I curve out the back here, swing back across the road, double back on myself, dive right as the bubble pops to get out of the line of fire...yeah, that should do it. Silently praying - to what, he wasn't sure - that the tanks wouldn't get a shot on him, he released his power, sending him blasting out of cover the opposite way he'd come in. Please don't let them screw this up...

Presidio
With each passing second Presido’s suite of forcefields became more extensive and she put them to use generating numerous constructs. Most apparent were the arrows and thin chains she was generating, whereas many of the other forcefields simply floated around her, their purpose yet to be defined.

While she worked her gaze scanned the surroundings, the shock of the villainesses display wearing off only to be replaced by a discerning eye. Most notably Kari found the damage the larger wires had done to any of the metal they’d struck. That information was something she found exceptionally useful and so she acted on it immediately, shifting the makeup of her armor by unlatching or affixing various components, creating empty spaces therein. At frightening speed shields swept into the armor and began deforming, shifting to fit the holes, increasing the armor’s density and complexity. At the same time she noted SWAT’s earlier request and so quickly assembled a much more barebones version of her armor, fit to his person. To keep the construct from decaying outside of her influence, she utilized one of the thin chains she’d been generating, increasing its length to a ludicrous degree before affixing it to something like a spool at his left hip. She included a series of shields that weren’t locked in and could slip into place or manipulate the movement of the chain with greater ease, she kept these pieces in the central portion of the construct, their like defended by the more durable shields around them.

Her work on his protection done she watched as he and Slingshot made their way to the roof, nodding when they were safely there. As she averted her gaze it slipped across a quite unwelcome sight, that being what was hopefully an independent cape stepping up to speak to the day’s spectacle. In almost no time at all wires rose up and around the figure, largely enclosing them. She frowned. Did this mean that the women had yet another hostage? Why had they so brazenly offered themselves up, were they even an ally, or were they perhaps aligned with the enemy? It was hard to say.

Each development and piece of information, including 4Sight’s intel, almost seemed to paint the situation as something worse than she’d initially thought. It was frustrating and she honestly wasn’t sure how to take action without either finding herself caught in yet another of the woman’s snares or even directly endangering the hostages. Worse still was the fact that this particular event appeared to be the cape’s debut. In short, that meant that they had nothing on her except for what they learned through this encounter.

Thus, beset with indecision she turned to 4Sight, looking for guidance.

“Do we have a plan of attack? Are we awaiting results from SWAT? Do you have a plan?” As she spoke just the barest thread of anxiety made its way into her expression, apparent in the downsloping of her eyebrows and the faint wrinkling around her eyes.

As much as she was itching to take action, she was frozen by the promise of harm that the villainess had delivered unto them.

How could she risk their wellbeing without any assurance that her actions would amount to anything?

It was an impossible question, as far as she was concerned….

Enki tensed for a brief moment as wire surrounded them. The Shaker hadn't seemed overtly hostile, but then, she probably didn't seem altogether sane——at least not by most people's standards——so conventional logic probably didn't apply. On the other hand, Enki's own appearance was certainly out of the ordinary, so the point was probably moot.

A moment later——just as Enki had come to the conclusion that Spindle wasn't going to attack——they noticed some of the smaller wires bend and contort in to more intricate shapes. Shapes which Enki soon realised were letters. So her reason for encircling him was to deliver a message?

"Ah." Enki let out a breath in acknowledgement. Looks like my initial assumptions weren't quite on the money.

As Enki pondered their response, they heard someone approaching from the rear. Probably one of the heroes. I best make this quick...

Enki reached for their pocket, their movements slow and measured as they reached in and grabbed their notebook and pen. A few swift motions later, Enki had their response.

Enki ripped out the page from the page, folding it once, and then twice before holding the slip of paper out.

It wasn't long until one of Spindle's wires moved to grab the slip of paper from him.

Final Guard and Junior Guard

In answer to Presidio's questions, 4Sight raised his hand to press the button on his earpiece. "The Director wants us to move forward, start to approach. He thinks it won't put the hostages in any danger." He said, "Be careful and watch your surroundings." He finished, before nodding at Dart. He took a step forward, eyes glazing over slightly as his power let him observe the situation more closely. It was hard to walk and use his power at the same time but he managed it, slowly taking in the battlefield. After a few moments he spoke again. "If the situation gets dire Slingshot, I want to you get under those hostages. Don't let them hit the ground at all costs, use your power and throw yourself into the midst. Dart will probably do the same, but you're going to be much more effective in that regard."

Slngshot nodded, seeming to fully grasp the importance of his role now. He was the last line of defence, truly the last resort. He focused on his breathing and started moving forward. The first step felt wrong. So did the second. There was no third step, he just floated forward instead.

For her part, Dart also started to approach. "Let's go." She said, placing herself in the lead of her squad. The new hostage wasn't being trapped just yet it seemed, the wires still hanging, some churning about in nonsensical patterns.

The Shaker

Spindle’s attention should’ve been fractured, but she seemed to be giving her full attention to SWAT. She looked him up and down, walking a few feet to be closer to him. ”Have you started fulfilling my demand?” She called out across the gap, seeming almost annoyed at his current attempt. While she talked, the message Enki had written disappeared into the wires, and was soon lost track of. Without the woman on the wire giving any indication, a new message appeared in the wires. "No hostage. Start fleeing in 3" As soon as the three was fully formed, it changed into a two. Then a one. The wires squirmed and started moving towards Enki.

The wires that had been busying themselves on the side of the building near Audrie suddenly rose above the edge, spiking six feet into the air. They surrounded 3/4ths of the building in a makeshift cage, leaving an opening behind her but still cutting off the fire escape. After gaining this height, it shifted to form a chain link fence type pattern and prevent immediate intervention. After forming this pattern, most of the wires froze in place. A few continued shifting along the bottom edge, appearing to form a braid. A similar event happened to Aesthetic's roof, however thicker wire was used combined with forming a point above the center of the roof. Again an escape route was left, but it was another straight drop downward.

Feeling wire shift under her sundress she smiled at SWAT. "I just got two more hostages. So many critters running around, getting caught in my web. If you don't start the process soon, you're going to. . . Regret it." She called, tapping the top of her wrist where a watch would be if she was wearing one.

The Fallen

The Trap

Transcendent rushed past Edith as she rolled, but he stopped himself and pivoted faster than she’d ever seen him react. As the vehicles pulled up and people started getting out, Transcendent moving ever closer no matter how she evaded, there seemed to be little hope.

Until there was an eruption of gunfire behind Edith followed by a thunderous roar. As everyone present turned to look at the commotion, a gigantic dinosaur that seemed like a mix between a t-rex and raptor smashed a jeep across the street and through a street light. It roared again and something blurred out from between its legs before reforming into a young woman who quickly landed a series of hits against one of the Fallen before blurring away again.

Behind Edith there was the sound of another commotion as several bodies went flying across the street as a giant ice golem shoved its way through the gap between two jeeps towards the remaining Fallen grouped between it and Edith. A woman that Edith recognized as Rend darted across the street towards the downed Fallen, placing her hands on them while the other Fallen engaged the golem. The last thing Edith got to see of the woman was her running back across the street faster than before and slamming into the golem with enough force to shove it back several feet. And then her attention was pulled back to her would-be-captor.

Transcendent went back on the attack for Edith as the blurring woman engaged in a fight with someone wielding a gauntlet that Edith didn’t recognize. Before Edith could react to Transcendent, a giant tail whipped over her head and slammed into him hard enough to create an audible crack in the air before he was sent flying down the street.

Red Eye

The Bank

A sigh of relief escaped Percy's lips, as he relaxed his body. They weren't going to fight anymore, they could leave, it was over. His power faded with every passing moment, and so he made the most of what remained. He turned away from his invisible foe, and started walking towards Vanish. His gate put as little pressure as possible on his injured leg without looking like he was limping. He could tell instantly that Vanish was upset with him, but he also knew she would wait to voice her concerns. "Give me a first aid kit." He said, his voice very quiet and distant. Vanish stepped over the table, and looked over at the case 53. A quick nod, and there was suddenly a small metal box with a red cross clasped in her hands. She handed it to Percy who turned with it in his left and slid it easily across the floor. It stopped a foot above the downed guard's head, the cross pointing towards the croc.

Percy turned, walking towards the front exit with the gun still in hand but not pointed at anything in particular. He pushed on the door, and let the cool air wash over him as Vanish followed close behind. In the distance were sirens, but he seemed to be ignoring those for now. They turned right and started fleeing as fast as Percy's leg would allow him, which turned out to be a slightly faster form of walking. After about a block they turned onto an alley, and Vanish started talking.

"Don't you think that was a bit much? Why didn't you shoot the big guy?" She asked, looking at the now haggard Percy. He shook his head before answering.

"I could've hurt him, but there was no way in hell I was going to down him. The only way to get him to stop was to threaten the kid. My power gave me no other option." He said, voice raw from yelling.

"That's gonna turn the heat up." Vanish said instead of what she wanted to say.

"We can handle it."

Almost a minute passed before the squad cars actually arrived, screeching to a stop in front of the bank. Some police officers then proceeded on foot in the direction given by a recent 911 call.

Exiled

Not with a bang...

As the Exiled and the independent hero went to their own tasks, the tanks moved ever onward. Until Arson broke the canon off of one. Moments later and she slammed it into the gears of the track and the whole thing came to a grinding halt. It was now slightly turned as one side had continued when the other stopped, and people were crawling up from underneath. Pointing guns at Arson, they opened fire as the 50 cal on the front started shooting towards the speedster. The man aiming it was much too slow, however, and was unable to land a hit on Jackalope.

Master, meanwhile, was able to close in on the other tank, which was aiming towards Arson as it’s forward motion stopped as Jackalope left a trail that they didn’t want to risk trying to cross.

In the background, Manifold’s little bubble shield turned into goop and she held the tank round in one hand and something small and spiky in the other. She kicked the hood of the truck to get the attention of her allies before throwing the shell to the side where it landed harmlessly in the grass. A second later she lobbed the spiked thing straight towards Arson.

Given it was her sister, she’d know to catch it and have an idea of what Manifold wanted her to do with it.

Arson

Arson watched as the tank screeched to a halt, smirking underneath her helmet. She saw Nazi's coming out of immobilized tank and was getting ready to blast them with fire when she heard Manifold kick the hood. Arson glanced back at Manifold and saw the spiked object in the air, Arson smiled under her helmet. The Nazi's started to unload on Arson so she decided to jump into the air to both avoid some shots and catch the spiked ball midair.

Arson crouched for a moment before shooting into the air, a few blood trails followed her up as she'd taken a good few bullets. While she was in the air Arson noticed that the second tank was looking in her direction, having stopped because of some sort of shard trail. Arson then caught the gizmo Manifold had whipped up and hurled it at the derailed tank, the others could deal with the second tank for now.

Ana would then land a good distance away from the (now most likely destroyed) tank, sticking a sweet ass superhero landing. "Thanks for the assist, Manny!" Arson said before spotting Jackalope, Arson just assumed that he was the one responsible for the path that halted the second tank. She'd ask about that guy later.

Sheol

Transcendent wasn't letting up, his movements were so quick Sheol was having trouble getting out of the way in time. At this rate, she was going to get caught, or she'd have to engage Transcendent. Sheol's thoughts were interrupted by a sudden roar, Sheol flinched as the massive beast smashed aside one of the jeeps sending the vehicle rolling. After that chaos ensued. A massive ice golem, a blur and... Rend. Rend herself had come out to capture Edith. Sheol quickly refocused on Transcendent who was already charging towards her, but before she could do anything a massive tail swooped over her head and sent the breaker flying down the street.

Sheol froze for a moment looking up at the dinosaur that had just come to her rescue, at this point Edith had no words. So instead of talking, Sheol looked back at Transcendent, raised her arms and let loose a torrent of fire in his direction. Now that all the civies were running away Sheol could turn up the heat.
