Dominic 'Dom' Samson

29 years old, born on the second of Febuary 1990

Appearance

After having a rough and rowdy upbringing he certainly has the scars to show it. He is definitely considered taller than the standard, with lean muscles that more than anything accentuates his size. Apart from the random scars that cover his body it is riddled with tattoos, mostly taking inspiration from the Japanese mafia.

Neighborhood

Tiny one-room apartment in the city. In between two large buildings as he works nights mostly.

School

Left high-school quite a few years ago.

Occupation

Waiter and bartender jumping between various bars in the city. Although on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday he works the bar at Diamond in the Rough.

Personality

Dom is most commonly described as a pessimistic, threatening, mind-your-own-damn-business, special kind of asshole. At least, that's what his friends call him. Fair enough, it's more of a collection of aquantances. Fine, it's that one regular that visits the bar he works in on thursdays.
More to the point, as you might expect, Dom has a quick tongue and an even shorter fuse. His pet peeves include but are not limited to: bad tippers, snobs, assholes, dine-dashers, shyness, change, those yellow mustard seeds you find in pickle-jars, liars, and canned food.
Behind this rough exterior, however, you would find an incredibly stressed drop out. While Dom always tries to mind his own business and never shows his weaknesses, it is not hard to see that he lives his life from paycheck to paycheck. Additionally, there is a rumor he is struggling with certain addictions. Who knows if there is any truth to the claim?

Short Bio

Dom grew up in a trailer in the outskirts of a city far away from the Emerald City. As most children do, he adopted many of his parents teachings, most of them about struggle. As he got older he was taught the harsh truth that pretty much everyone is out to get you unless you get them first. Because of this, he struggled with his anger, lashing out at anyone that stood in his way. Be it his friends, teachers, or even parents, none escaped his wroth. He was often the leader of bullying groups, minor gangs, and had quite the reputation as a little thug in his teens. Mind you, he found his way to the top using his fists.
When he finally came of age, he was kicked out of his parents trailer and forced to hop from the first city to the next, always doing small jobs or favors so that he easily could disappear as swiftly as he appeared. Friendships were short and meaningless, relationships were even more so. He would arrive at a city, start of working security. In the next city he would take what he learned to work in the kitchen, washing dishes and preparing tables. When he moved again he would once again apply what he most recently learned and started waiting the tables, serving food and eventually ending up as a bartender.
Now, after finally arriving in Emerald City, he was quick to get a job working as a bartender in one of the local bars. He is also helping out as a waiter and even a low level cook. Mostly due to his skill and handling knife. Now as he is getting closer to his thirties he is slowly realizing that his anger may not always be well placed or that he may actually get further in life if he stopped ending arguments with his fists.

Decided to do this in all one go in one post as info from one might actually help towards info for another. Sorry for how long it is.

Possible reasons for Alex knowing this character.

Lily Turner

Depends partially on if she went to the college or not. Same age so could have had the same classes in freshmen year despite differing majors. Could have gotten to know each other from there. Same deal with if he or Kiley had classes with Elizabeth at any point. If they became friends he likely would've met Lily at some point through Liz.

Another way could be if she at any point for any reasons went to Sonic Beats. He worked there quite a lot. Or, if she went to one of the film festivals at either the community center or cinema. Maybe even his main hangout Retro Legends. He did happen upon the community center from time to time.

Elizabeth Baker

Fairly similar reasons as with Lily. They may have seen each other at the Cozy Bear Cafe as it's Elle's favorite place to go. She definitely would occasionally drag Alex and Kiley there. Also, there is the unfortunate thing about Elle that she likes to play matchmaker so she may have tried to get them near each other occasionally if she was friendly enough with Liz.

Pepper Rockwell

I'm pretty sure we already talk about this a bit but yeah. Even though he does make short films and the like he is more into the theater side of things and doesn't actually go to watch movies often other than to support his classmates and the occasional blockbuster. He gets most of his outdoor entertainment form Retro Legends. (Outdoor as in out of his dorm.)

Leo Sullivan

Unless he goes to any of the local film festivals or, despite him being 23, gets convinced to talk to any film students at the university, we could chalk it up to the fact of being really successful from an early age ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, I don't necessarily see them running into each other.

Ollivander Clarke

I know we've lightly chatted already and yeah I'm certain that Alex would try and take as many classes with Ollivander as he could. Outside of that if he ever asked for volunteers for anything, maybe something happening at the community center, then Alex would probably volunteer.

Kei Aiba

I don't really see them knowing each other.

Honestly, same as with Kei unless for some reason he happened upon Sonic Beats. I do have to say that I have a gut feeling that Alex might not like him. Not sure though until I see DDay in action.

Uhh, well Alex does like anime but he doesn't read manga so... I dunno. Maybe they are best buds on an anime forum site but don't have a clue who each other are outside the screen but constantly pass by each other in the city. That sounds like a bad startline to a cringey light novel that has an oddly specific yet long name.

I don't really see them being more than he being one of the random Ice Cream customers to her and her being one of the Ice Cream servers to him unless you have any ideas.
