@Duthguy Roach Boy is accepted! Reminds me of a cross between Spider-man and Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes.
@NightmareInd Skillshot is also accepted! I really dig the mask and ability.
@The Bork Lazer I'm gonna be veeeery picky when it comes to any non-powered heroes in this. It's not that I don't dig the character, but the language and nature of the character seem more fitting for something like Deadpool's X-Force. There anything else you're toying with, idea wise?
@Shard@Bea Y'all worked anything up yet for the twin characters?
🌑 A mutant power allowing the user to replicate any inanimate object within a frame of limitations. 🌑 This ability also allows for a passive adjustment to the user's frame which is described below. 🌑 Each replica created by the mutant in question is by all intents and purposes identical in structure to the real article, meaning it's an exact copy. 🌑 The replication is nearly instantaneous, and this is a Polykinetic hyper-specialized ability on a cellular level. 🌑 Every item replicated in this manner takes the form of a golden, ghostly and spectral version of the original item.
Imprint 🌑 For an item to be replicated by a Polykinetic, they have to manage a process dubbed 'Imprinting'. 🌑 Upon touching an object, the mutant can connect with it, and then conjure forth replicas of the item, at will. 🌑 Once the Polykinetic has Imprinted an item, he can manifest a replica of this item wherever he finds himself and no longer needs to have the original item in his possession to manage the feat. 🌑 This is, of course, until he needs to Imprint with the item again, if another Imprint finds itself made, following the first.
Time 🌑 Each replica is permanent until the mutant allows it to disappear or until another replaces it.
Telekinetic Control 🌑 The Polykinetic is able to control his replicas telekinetically. 🌑 Summoning them into existence, he can move them about and launch them with the power of his mind. 🌑 Hand movements make the process much easier. 🌑 The mutant can, however, not use this ability on anything beyond his replicas.
Spear Flight 🌑 Through this ability, Neoh is able to sit on one of his spears, and use it a traveling device. 🌑 However, the concentration required for this prevents Neoh from using his powers in any other manner, while flying on one of these manifestations.
Weight 🌕 The item cannot weigh more than four pounds.
Quantity 🌕 The Polykinetic can Imprint, and replicate one item at a time. 🌕 He can make up to twenty copies of this item, but is limited to the one, single item he is Imprinted with.
Substance 🌕 The user can only replicate solid items. 🌕 No substances to speak of.
Biological Material 🌕 A Polykinetic of this level cannot replicate anything which isn't inanimate. 🌕 Biological material is beyond their ability.
Usage 🌕 Unlike many mutants and powered individuals, a Polykinetic's powers are entirely reliant on external forces. 🌕 Their abilities cannot further any goals by themselves, as would be the case for a fire slinger or ice breather. 🌕 In other words, the mutant requires an ingredient in the form of an object for their ability to be useful.
Integrity 🌕 A Polykinetic's manifestations can only aid the user as far as the inanimate object he has imprinted with is possibly capable of stretching itself. 🌕 An imprint with a weak item will result in a weak execution.
Structure 🌕 The mutant needs to understand the structure of the item he replicates, which means that more complicated objects require in-depth studies before the Polykinetic is able to use them. 🌕 Due to this, simpler constructions with a sturdy core are preferred.
Magic 🌕 The user cannot imprint with magical effects.
Bio-Organic Cellular Duplication 🌗 Those born attuned to Polykinesis are quite unique in the way that their cells do not split, but rather they replicate. 🌗 A cell deteriorates every time it splits which in turn causes aging. This appears entirely vacant in Neoh's biological construction. 🌗 Additionally, due to this, Neoh's body is frozen in time and cannot shift, evolve or form in any manner beyond the point of evolving this ability. 🌗 In Neoh's case, this was at seventeen, which will more than likely cause some issues down the line.
Mundane Weakness - Strength 🌕 Neoh is very physically weak. 🌕 He hasn't had to go through physical labor a day in his life, which has left him without muscles. 🌕 This is clearly visible, due to his scrawny frame.
Mundane Weakness - Agility 🌕 Due to his lack of physical training, Neoh is not at all athletic, or agile. 🌕 He relies entirely on his powers for defense, offense, and utility.
Experience 🌑 Nearly one year.
Arrowcaster Discovery 🌑 Arrowcaster spotted Neoh during a museum robbery. 🌑 Neoh made a rather theatrical entrance, before presenting himself, and making an effort to stop the villains.
Bio 🌑 Neoh grew up the son of an established, and esteemed fashion designer. 🌑 Throughout his life, he was always very close to his twin brother. 🌑 Since an early age, Neoh found great interest in theater, and expression. 🌑 Among these expressive interests, most of all, came fashion. 🌑 Following in his mother's footsteps, Neoh delved into tailoring, where he displayed an incredible knack. 🌑 It was at fourteen years of age that Neoh first discovered his abilities, stretching beyond the mundane. 🌑 Naturally, the development left him quite a scare, a secret he shared with his twin brother who, incidentally, also possessed a supernatural ability, of his own.
🌑 Considering the intricate nature of Neoh's ability, it required a notable amount of experimentation, to actually understand. 🌑 This involved a myriad of trials, and errors. 🌑 It was only a year later, at his fifteenth winter, that Neoh considered himself in tune with these mysterious abilities flowing through his veins. 🌑 Where the boy had begun with small trinkets, imprinting with forgettable clutter, Neoh considered the option of taking a second step. 🌑 Along with his undying interest of fashion, came an interest in historical and cultural fashion. 🌑 This, in turn, had prompted an interest within Neoh, in medieval weaponry, as the two often were found entwined. 🌑 Neoh extended his research of various trinkets, and materials, to more advanced constructions, such as swords, and spears. 🌑 This was not a huge leap, considering how Neoh's interest in the items stretched further back than his newly found abilities. 🌑 Neoh would, after many failed attempts, manage to imprint with an heirloom spear kept in the family vault. 🌑 It was said to have belonged to a 'Hero of Old England,' though it was a story Neoh brushed aside. 🌑 Proceeding his successful imprint with the spear titled 'The Dapper Lance', Neoh was well aware that something fantastical awaited him.
🌑 Never one for subtlety, Neoh set to designing a suit for himself, a feat which was not beyond him. 🌑 This was would continue to herald his extended training with both his powers, and his new persona. 🌑 It had started with one night, after school. 🌑 It then became two, three, four, and finally, nearly ever night after school, that Neoh put on the suit, to follow in the steps of those before him. 🌑 He wanted to be a hero, and so far, he had managed the feat, as Spectral. 🌑 After Neoh turned seventeen, he could say that he had been donning the mantle of a vigilante for nearly a year, successfully.
One Year Later 🌑 Neoh aims to become an accomplished hero. 🌑 In one year, he hopes to be somewhat of a household name. 🌑 As would be common for most heroic teenagers, Neoh hopes to be far stronger, in one year. 🌑 Most of all, Neoh wishes to be a stable part of an established superhero group.
The nightly shroud of dusk was an invitation for thieves and bandits, an age old tale, indeed. A pursuit of riches emanated from the sin of greed, where possessions stolen from others were exchanged for what made the world spin. Money, 'the green', as some would call it. Alas, it was the way of those less fortunate, or those with the goal of power, in mind. Now, Neoh would not blame the mosquito for imbibing in blood, nor would he blame a thief for stealing. These were simply the motion of things, and a natural response would proceed its invitation. Justice. "My, oh my," came a gentle sigh as it trickled past slender lips hidden behind an ornate mask. "You could at least have the common decency of robbing a bank," Neoh continued, discontented ire heard in his young voice. "This is just disrespectful," the boy motioned towards paintings in the process of theft.
"Who the fuck are you?" A response rang out across the alleyway behind an esteemed museum. Leaning against a large, black van, Neoh stood with his arms crossed, eyes fixed on the bandits attempting a successful heist. It was worthy of note that their driver had been knocked out, and the car itself appeared to have sustained massive damage from what could only have been a ballista.
"How distasteful," the young hero commented, "do mind your language."
"Just kill the little shit!" One of the three bandits roared, drawing a pistol from beneath his coat. They had hoped to manage this mission with silence blanketing every step, but that had been robbed of them. As a bullet was fired, an echoing sound emanated across the vast cityscape, alerting every single person within the block of ensuing violence. One would, however, be surprised to see the bullets blocked by the manifestation of a rapidly spinning, ghostly spear which appeared in front of Neoh, protecting him. Once the curious sight reached its conclusion, the boy flicked his wrist and conjured forth three newly formed lances, launching like bullets at his behest. They pinned unfortunate bandits to the museum wall, and it was reasonable to grow fearful of incoming results, until it was revealed that Neoh had skillfully pierced their clothes, rather than fragile flesh.
"Rude," the hero spoke, "guns are so.., savage."
"Impressive," came a newly added voice, earning the scene's attention. Neoh's eyes positively widened at the sight. It was Arrowcaster.
@Duthguy Roach Boy is accepted! Reminds me of a cross between Spider-man and Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes.
The Spider-man part was intentional, as for Blue Beetle my knowledge from him comes from Linkara and was completely accidental. In fact now that I think about him furthering his mutation is probably based on the Man-Spider arc from the 90's Spider-man cartoon, my introduction to Peter Parker
Heya! Me is very interested in this rp. Here is my Nightwing/Harley Quinn/Ty Lee from ATLA-inspired character. Hope ya like her! ^u^
Secret Identity: Natalia Mina Appearance:
Codename: Venus Hero Outfit:
Power: Love Gaze - Natalia has the power to make anyone fall in love with her so deeply that they are compelled to follow her every command. The effect of her power wears off on a target if Nat herself dispels the effect or the time limit of her power runs up. Her target can be affected by looking at her eyes either directly or through reflections. When using her power, her eyes glow bright pink.
Skills: Acrobatics - Natalia can perform walks on tightropes and do head-stances on just her fingers with grace and balance, and cartwheels and mid-air somersaults with great ease. She's very light on her feet, allowing her to easily evade hits by outmaneuvering her enemies and being able to jump high and afar even when stationary. She's also limber as she's able to bend, twist, and contort her body in positions no ordinary human can do. Additionally, her skills as an acrobat greatly improved her agility, giving her impressive parkour and free-running skills, allowing her to scale almost any surface or terrain quickly and squeeze through most barriers and small spaces with ease.
Nat's power may not work on those who already deeply love someone.
It will not work on people who do not feel affection of any kind.
It will not work on robots or androids.
Those who have a strong mental capacity or mental-based powers may block out Nat's powers from affecting them.
The effect of her power on a target will greatly weaken if Nat commands them to do something they physically can't do.
Her commands may be useless on someone who's too dumb to even understand what she's saying.
Her target must understand the language she's using to command them, although they can still be smitten by her.
Nat is still human, so she can be killed and injured just like any other human.
She couldn't do much in a very tight space.
While she's very fast, Nat will find it difficult when she's facing a physically stronger and heavier opponent.
Q: How did Arrowcaster find you? A: He saw her defeat a trio of rude men on her own to save a civillian.
BRIEF Bio: Back in her country, Natalia was once part of a circus act known as The Aria Mina which composed of her and her parents. Her parents were quite famous back then, and she was also widely regarded as a show-stopper because nobody has seen a very skilled acrobat at such a young age. Her power also manifested during her time as a circus performer. Their leader found out about it and used her power to compel more people in watching the circus, making him earn more money than ever. Nat's parents found out their leader was using her for his greed so they decided turn their backs on the circus life and use their hard-earned money to fly to America to protect Natalia and start a new life. The Mina family were content with their simple and quaint life, but they didn't tell Nat to not use her powers again. Despite being normal humans, they encouraged and helped her master her power as best as they could so she can use it for good and to protect herself. They also used their acrobatic skills to use, with her parents going on to become professional acrobatics teachers while Natalia joined the cheerleading squad of her school.
Q: How will your character be different one year later? A: Hopefully Natalia would become stronger to the point that she can command anyone using her voice as well. She'll be a widely regarded hero in her own might, serving as an example that not all heroes have to be tough and brooding all the time to be taken seriously.
It was a bit late at night and Natalia was walking from the bus stop on her way home. She could really use some snack to eat, but her train of thought was interrupted by a scream. She found out that it came from a lady being surrounded by three men. She hid behind a tree on the sidewalk and she saw how the men laughed and looked at the poor lady menacingly, surrounding her like a pack of wolves while the poor lady begged them to stop and go away. Based on what she could hear from her hiding spot, these men wanted to steal her purse but decided they wanted to 'do something fun.'
Natalia was disgusted. She looked around if anyone could help the lady. Unfortunately, it was already a bit late at night and almost no one would walk by this part of town if they're not working late. She turned back at the situation with the man reaching out as if to grab the lady's shoulder. It's now or never; Nat dropped her bags first and then approached them, wearing a cheerful grin as she skipped to them.
One of the men nudged at the other two and all of them looked at her with wolfish grins. "Hey there, sweetie. Wanna join us?". The men laughed almost like hyenas with the poor lady cowering and closing her eyes in fear.
Natalia giggled. "Why, of course I would love to join you fellas! But there's something I want to ask you guys first..."
"And what's that, baby?", one of them asked. Two of them went beside Natalia while the other stayed with the lady. She made sure they all looked at her before blinking long. When she opened her eyes, they glowed bright pink. "Do you love me?~".
The men's eyes briefly glowed pink, signifying that her power took effect on them. Their expressions changed and they smiled dreamily as they looked at her adoringly. "Yes, we do. We love you more than anything in the world", they said in unison.
"Awww, thank you! You guys do seem awfully tired though. If you guys really love me, I want all of you to close your eyes and go... to... sleep~". Immediately, they all dropped to the ground, snoring.
Nat turned to the lady with her eyes no longer glowing, tapping her shoulder as she opened her eyes. "No need to worry, ma'am. You're safe now!". The lady looked around her in shock before looking back at Natalia. In response, the lady hugged her, calling her a hero and even giving her a few dollars as thanks. Nat tried to refuse and say she wasn't a hero but the lady already ran off from fear but not before thankfully waving back at the young girl who saved her. Nat waved back at her and looked at the sleeping men.
With a spring on her step, Natalia turned around and skipped back to the tree where she dropped her stuff. However, she was surprised to see a man standing there holding a bow and arrow. It took a second for Nat, but her eyes grew wide in shock and she gasped. "O.M.G. Robin Hood?! I thought you aren't real!", Nat said. Arrowcaster slapped his forehead and sighed.
Powers – Limited use of 'magic', though a more accurate term might be energy manipulation. He has a core inside his body that draws in ambient energy and converts it into the type he can use. Has a slight regeneration power though it feeds off of his energy core. A black belt in karate, as well as a student in several other schools of martial arts. Has combined his knowlege of karate, muai tai, and energy manipulation to form his own fighting style called Bakuken, which condenses the energy into coils around his legs and arms to increase the power of his punches and kicks. The coils create explosions when flexed, allowing him to potentially manoeuvre in mid air. Is currently studying history at university.
Weaknesses – Bakuken is an unfinished style, and the explosions injure Felix each time they are used. Requires periodic release of his energy else his body won't sleep.
Personality – Witty, Secretive, Playful, Chaotic Experience – 17 Days Day Job – Student
How did Arrowcaster find you? He found Felix testing out his Bakuken.
BRIEF Bio – Felix had been absorbing energy from a young age. Back then he was a much bigger handful as he lacked the self control learned from martial arts. His parents started him on karate at the age of six, sending him to a local dojo in the hopes of taming the overenergised kid. With an outlet for his vast energy, Felix flourished in the art, earning a black belt by the age of twelve. He also decided to research different styles of martial arts to make his own style. The first time he manifested his energy was at fifteen. A thug tried to mug him and pulled out a gun. Before the guy could shoot him, a burst of energy came from Felix, brutally burning the guy. It was horrific and enlightening for Felix, as it was another part of himself to master. So began his foray into creating the Bakuken, or Exploding Fist, style.
How will your character be different one year later? An increased mastery of the Bakuken means he would be able to control his explosions so they don't harm him, which would lead to him being able to fight in three dimensions.
Sample Post – Breathe in. Breathe out. Focus the energy, feel it coil around your arms. Tighter, tighter still, keep going until you feel the energy become unstable. That's it, almost there. Good, now PUNCH!
The resulting explosion blew Felix off his feet, but that was secondary compared to the pain now shooting up from his arm. His hand was covered with burns and... yup, those were broken fingers. Pulling the fingers back into their correct positions, he wrapped up his hand in the bandages he had brought with him for this exact eventuality, wincing all the while. Once he had finished he looked over the warehouse he was using for practice. Hey, was that a support beam he hit... crap.
Grabbing the meagre possessions he brought with him, he ran as the creaking of a near toppling building rose until...
The warehouse caved in on itself, nearly burying Felix along with it. Note to self, less coils in the future. Just as he thought things couldn't get any worse, Arrowcaster showed up. "Uh... I can explain?" the youth said.
Fortunately, the hero wasn't going to arrest the youth, instead offering him a spot on their team. He accepted, mostly because he figured they had a decent med bay for any hiccups he had while refining his style.
If you guys have any interest in non marvel/dc superhero comics PS238 and Magellan are pretty good and take the same basic premise, non powered kid at school for superheros, in different directions. Also yeah a discord would be nice.
@Omega Man Oh I completely forgot but PS238 has a minor character called the emerald gauntlet who uses a gauntlet like a green lantern ring, I know it's just a coincidence but that reminded of your character in this rp
