The curse has been manufactured. It simply needs an energy source.

Are the insects still around?

Yes, but they were from our world. They just adapted to the flame.

I guess it's something you were all just used to at that point.

There were some safe zones, but the few left places of earth were major cities of old. The fire changed the structure of the continents compared to other Earths. My home was once Tokyo, Japan. But after my involvement, we were able to expand the safe land and now a large portion of New Earth, as we call it, is safe from the Fire.

The Fire was more than just fire. It was something powerful enough to heat up the Earth and cause plates to shift in unnatural ways.

You know, I never knew how. That wasn’t a question on my mind either. Probably some terrain machine.

Well when I left it....it was very large. It was becoming more and more normal. Us humans were taking back Earth. Lots of buildings, a jungle of concrete and machine, with beautiful countrysides. We were able to converge with the other safe areas that was initially blocked by flaming earth. A big pot of Earth’s former self.

*You hear a door close before I wander into view.*
It's the mental system I use.
Instead of scrambling the different parts of the conscious mind, the unconscious mind, and a person's personal inner world together, like with what I saw in your system, it presents them as three distinct areas.

This quiet and vast area we're walking around in is the unconscious plain.
Due to the vast amount of information and connections it holds, you could wander around for years without and never run into something significant. At least, that's only if you wander without intent, and even if you do, what you run into is up to chance.

Up above is all of your conscious thoughts, of which I call the conscious sky. Most people spend all of their time flying up there because they're afraid of encountering and confronting the things that they've thrown away down here.

As for a person's personal inner world, there's a connection to it somewhere down here in the unconscious plain, of which more often than not just looks like a plain white door. How the inner world looks like inside tends to vary from person to person though.

Hmm. I get it. I'm just suprised it's so... organized. Comparatively speaking.
