Violet Ray

Name: Violet Ray

Prison Faction: Amazons

Ability: BLEEDER - Bleeders have the ability to emit high-pitched sonic vibrations that cause ruptures in a target's blood vessels. While using this ability, their pupils turn into vertical slits, like a snake's, because of synthetic materials implanted in them to protect their blood vessels from the effects of their own ability. They are also sometimes known as Screeches or Screamers.

Biography: Violet was raised by her family in a small tribal village at the edge of a Sioux reserve in Arizona. Her tribe was by no means wealthy and were, in fact, self sufficient in many ways. Her village learned of her powers during a toddler aged tantrum that led to a drop of several grown men. At the time her abilities were vastly underdeveloped and didn't cause much damage. The men she had knocked to the ground simply got back up, but from that moment on, she would never be the same.
Her family tried to protect her from the outside world. Then hid her in the village until an accident led to word being spread about a "goddess" in the village. Her tribe soon believed that she was inhabited by the spirits and was kept sacred. Eventually word made its way to the wrong source.

Her village was raided in the middle of the night. Homes were burning and several tribal leaders were murdered while she was taken away in a large black vehicle. The mysterious men took her to the center where she remained for three months. She had just been put up for auction when the explosion happened.

Personality: Violet is a free spirit. She is reserved and keeps to herself most of the time. Because of her tribes reverence towards her, she is used to being a leader. She can be vindictive if double crossed but tends to make close bonds that keep situations like that from occurring often. With a "take not shit" attitude, violet tends to keep people on their toes and tends to have a taste for power.

Firstly, it's considered rather rude and presumptuous to post your CS to the character tab before it's been approved. That Tab is for approved characters.

But forgetting about that for a moment:
The power looks interesting and the rather unique name Bleeders seem to suggest it's from something. I'll give you props for being unique but I'm going to have to ask you to chose another ability. The most prominent reason is that functionally speaking your character's power is specifically designed to be PvP. It attacks humans directly with very little application outside of combat. I'm not going to say that's a bad thing, many of our players have combat oriented abilities but in an RP where Player Vs Player situations are not just likely be expected I can't allow there to be powers that target a person in such a specific and nearly unblockable way.

Secondly and this had less bearing but you mentioned a synthetic material implanted in her eye. That would suggest she had some awareness of her abilities at a young enough age to avoid injuring herself with them and went to some sort of surgeon. This wasn't in the first post and now that I think of it I may have forgotten to mention it in the OOC but while being a meta isn't illegal (at least in the states and Canada) metas are required to register with the government (not many do for obvious reason). A procedure like that would be very specific and the surgeon would have to realize that the person he was operating on was a meta. He would then be required to report her to the government or risk losing his license to practice. Once she was on a government list the Corporation would be able to find her a lot easier and much sooner than what looked like about twelve years.

But as the power isn't approved that's not really an issue.

The Cross

Faction Name: The Cross

Leader: Sam King
Power: Gravity Manipulation
Appearance: Sam is five feet and ten inches tall. He wears a black trench coat and white short-sleeved shirt and cargo pants. He finally wears black shoes that are good for running. His hair is bright red and his face while young looks tough and his eyes are a fierce blue.

Purpose: The Cross is to dish out punishment to those who have committed sins against the church and to punish those who threw Sam in prison. They also assist boys and men in trouble and try to help them with their issues in a non-controlling way. They are traditionalist and hate progressives viewing them as mind controlling devils. Their leader isn't as extreme, but he isn't against those going beyond what is necessary to hurt their enemies.

Age: It was created when Sam went to the Center

History: Sam started this faction with a prison friend of his who was also a catholic metahuman and they agreed that by getting as many metahumans to embrace God's calling they could get out and change this sinful world for the better. It was difficult at first, but Sam was determined with his goals and very slowly they started to get more members. As it is now, they have a good number and have been trying to get normal people as well as metahumans to their call.

Leadership:

Saint: Saints are the top of the top in the order and are the generals of The Cross. They command the lower ranked members and make council with each other to decide what laws should be made and what missions to partake in. They are always strong metahumans and have no normal humans among them.

Crusader: They are the combat experts of the order and live to fight for the cause. Not all are metahumans, but ones that are will be trained to use their abilities to their full combat potential.

Monk: They are like the watchmen and protectors of the secrets of the order. They can be like caretakers and assassins ready to defend the hidden secrets of the Cross by any means necessary.

Priest: They as healers and moral boosters. They also learn scripture and give services

Selection: If you're traditional, catholic as well as authoritarian then you'll be welcomed in this faction. They have made a couple of exceptions, but being catholic and against progressives are the main requirements to becoming a member of The Cross.

Initiation: Swear loyalty to God and to the Cross and prove yourself on a mission for the order.

Size: As it is right now, The Cross is almost fifty members strong.

Assets: Muscle, teamwork and a moral compass is what this faction offers most. They also are not greedy and will share in resources with others if they are fine with them.

You keep making references to accepting non metas and the Crusaders and Saints not all being metahumans or all having to be metas. The fact is the only non meta humans present in the Center are the guards (most of them anyways) and they don't join prison factions.

With regards to the age I'd prefer you actually listed how long the group has been around. I don't want to have to hunt down random facts in your CS to discover certain information.

What exactly do you mean by "Progressives"?

I'm not going to say that Sam can't be the Leader of the Cross but bear in mind that when the escape comes to pass Edmund and Gloria are going to teleport out as many people in close proximity to them as possible and the likelihood of several different faction leaders being near one another is not altogether likely. If you really want Sam to be the leader of the Cross you are more than welcome to but I would suggest creating an NPC for the job.

I was more or less going for what they would do when they escaped the prison, as in the faction would still be around after the escape. As for progressive I mean non left-wing politics, Sam is described as a traditionalist and his faction wouldn't allow liberals or communists in their ranks, that's what he is getting at.

Isn't that kind of the opposite of the meaning of "progressive"? Progressive generally refers to left-wing political parties, and Liberal can refer to either left or right depending on the country. In the US Liberal is generally considered the same as Progressive, and in Europe Liberal generally means Libertarian.

Here is Jason Reed and the faction SITE

Name: Jason Reed

Age: 19

Prison Faction: Leader of SITE

Ability: Data manipulation, Datakinesis.
Jason often refers to his ability as "Malicious Code", or the ability to manipulate and control different forms of data. The techniques can vary from hacking with ease, to changing ones own genetic data however they wish. It can also be used for things like draining data, or creating a large amount inside of a piece of technology, to creating AI with almost human capabilities.

The disadvantages of this is include only being able to edit the data if the user comes in contact with it, to only being able to manipulate the genetic data of himself. Along with this if he does not understand how the data works in a given machine/organism he cannot manipulate it. Extremely complex things like an entire persons DNA as well as something like a quantum computer are beyond his manipulation because of how complex they are to his mind.

Biography: Jason refuses to talk about his history past the point of of his capture and being sold.

He states that whilst on the run from the companies people, he managed to hack into a CIA database. From there, he found the location of a supercomputer called Merlin. By downloading a fraction of its data onto his phone, he was able to create a link between it and Merlin, but only for general use. He couldn't do things like mass calculations but he could use it to scan the internet for all types of information. After a couple more months of running he was finally caught and was sold shortly after. By using his ability he managed to escape his owners. He then made his way to the centre, where he managed to forge his way in so that he could attempt to rescue as many metas of his kind as possible. He didn't count on there being an ability dampening field there.

Faction Sheet

Faction Name: SITE

Leader: Jason Reed

Power: Data Manipulation

Purpose: The purpose was to create a unified sanctuary of tech metas under the banner of SITE. This was a place for metas of his kind of power to stand together and escape together. Of course, that didn't go strictly to plan.

History: After Jason was transferred into the centre, he was forced to face the harsh reality of his ability. It may have been powerful, but without his phone he is unable to do anything. He decided to create a group of metas that could stand together and be there if another needed them. Since he managed to get a phone into the prison, he has been trying to replicate the networking link between his phone and Merlin but it hasn't been working. The faction SOUL seemed to have it out for Jason and SITE, and a bitter rivalry began for no reason than because Jackson was bored.

Hierarchy

Leadership:
Backdoor: the lowest ranked meta you can be.

Firewall: a foot soldier. They can command the Backdoors but are still one of the lowest ranked.

Trojan: these soldiers command the Firewalls and Backdoors and have shown they are superior in combat but also have non power abilities to use.

Bot: the leaders of the Trojans. They are well respected and are generally given a bit of leeway from guards.

Shutdown: these are specially chosen by the Code;End and are in control of the other members entirely. They are given more leeway by guards and most prisoners won't challenge them to anything because of their high rank. There are only 3 as of current.

Code;End: Code;end is the leader of the faction, who is currently Jason. He has full command of the faction and all members. Guards tend to ignore his actions entirely but tend to do what he asks up to a point. This is also because his ability allows him to still use his ability in the dampening field. This is especially useful since he managed to get his phone into the prison, which is linked to the supercomputer Merlin.

*Note: these ranks are the technical names, but the people in those ranks are not called them. This is just a way of organisation.

Selection: the only determining factor is what their ability is. Those with electrical, machine, data or other similar kinds of abilities are welcome into SITE. those without are rejected.

Initiation: the initiation is just a basic demonstration of their abilities so they can be placed in the hierarchy. This also includes their non power skills.

Size: since there are few metas with the type of ability accepted, there are currently 57 members.

Assets: being relatively well respected, SITE members of Bot rank and above are given leeway by guards to a certain degree. Nothing like SOUL may do, but guards may look the other way for some crimes as well as possibly doing certain favours in exchange for bribes.

Name: Nariv Arya

Age: 16

Prison Faction: Factionless - The Messenger

Ability: Vocal Replication - Nariv is able to replicate any sound or voices with complete and udder accuracy. However, this means that he can't copy a person's voice, merely mimic the exact phrase that they had heard, or remix several sources of noise to make a complete sentence. Still, it his still his voice, it can still get tired if he uses it too much and he can't replicate sounds that he can't hear. This means pitches high or low enough that the human ear can't detect. Also, the more inhumane the sound, the more strain on the voice.

Biography: Nariv was born into a fair life. His parents loved him, they lived inside of a fairly decent neighborhood with his parents having an above average salary. He has two brothers, both older and out of the house, and the one thing you would realize is that he was born mute.

That affected his life quite drastically as he couldn't speak at all. School was quite strange, he had to be somewhere special, where teachers knew ASL and students with similar disadvantages as himself. It didn't affect him too hard, he still had friends that could speak, he acted no different than he would have if he spoke, although people understanding all the time was a problem for the rest of his life. It was only until he was 15 when he discovered that there was another abnormality inside of him as well.

He was in a car, a family vacation with his parents and brothers. The radio was blasted to the max, playing catchy song after catchy song with everyone singing along. Nariv didn't mind at all, he was mouthing the lyrics as well, joining the fun with his family. Everything was fairly normal, everyone was having fun and all when the parents went to refuel the car. The brothers didn't mind this, they continued to sing with horrible voices until they shut off the car, with the radio as well. However, the song didn't stop. They all looked towards Nariv, the chorus of the song being sung out by the little brother. It was quite a strange sight, especially when the artist was a woman. So, everyone freaked out, including Nariv when he realized what was happening.

So, fast forward to a year. The family was all weirded out by this ability. However, they still loved the person that had the power, he was the little brother after all. It took some adjusting to his new life as well, he still went to his special school, but he kept on practicing on videos on the Internet. The sound of explosions, gun fire, and famous movie quotes coming out of his mouth! It was amazing to him, and he occasionally did funny things with voice like whispering two cymbals crashing together into someone's ear. It was a riot. Well, until he got kidnapped to be sold as a slave, that part kind of sucked.

Personality: Nariv is mainly just a normal boy. He tries to be friendly to others, to strangers, he shows a rather polite and nice side of himself. However, the more you get to know him and befriend him, the more you start to see his true side. He is still friendly and all, but he starts to be more of a goof with a slight dick-ish attitude. He stays silent when he is supposed to, he knows when to intervene, and especially knows when to run. He is a fairly normal boy living inside of a world that isn't normal. Though, this means that he isn't used to all of the craziness that will ensue later in his life.

Other: He is just too darn weak to join any factions, and he had no will to start a fight due to the problem that he has no idea how to fight. Voice Replication doesn't help in fights either, so, Nariv merely has to use his wit to survive.

Security systems, motion sensors, and laser trips are all useless in detecting her. She puts off not heat signal and cannot be picked up by thermal camera's or heat seeking devices. She also cannot be photographed or video taped, this is something sometimes referred to as the vampire effect.
The down side to this ability is that she is also not able to use any form of advanced technologies such as touch screens, video communication, fingerprinting, etc. She is not able to communicate via cell phone or radio wave. Her interactions have to be personal to varying degrees.

Biography: Ray grew up in the foster care system in downtown Chicago. Here she was taken in at the age of 12 by a typical American family consisting of a mom, a dad, three biological children and 7 adoptive children. However, soon after she was adopted, she began to start noticing strange occurrences happening while she would go out with the family.
Her adoptive family would take a family trip to Disneyland every year. It was her first time on the trip and more importantly, her first time on a plane. Violet remained excited as they got in line for the security check. Her bags were placed in the machine and she was asked to walk through the x-ray machine and metal detector. The officer asked her to step to the side so they could use the wand on her. The machine detected nothing and they sent her on her way, stating that the x-ray machine must have a 'bug' and was not picking up her image. She brushed it off and thought nothing more of it until more strange occurrences started happening. Every year during the trip through the airport the same thing would happen but only to her.
So she received her first cell phone at the age of 16, but not matter what she did, she could never get anyone to hear her through the phone. Similar instances like these happened until she reached 18 and she was now on her own. Soon her awareness of her abilities grew stronger as she tested every theory she had about what was happening to her. She would then start to learn how to use this power.

I would place you around Trojan level. You would likely be used for espionage where detection from electronic means would be a problem. In the prison you would likely be used for stealing supplies from under the cameras noses, and outside you would be stealing anything from anywhere that had cameras, detectors, anything.

I never mentioned this is Jason's CS, but his phone isn't limited to changing the form of just himself. If necessary, he can use it to make any other person resistant to the ability dampening field. Of course, it is only temporary and you can only use about half your full power, but yeah. That.
