I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.
Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and ascend past other creatures But their mortality denies them divinity
It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"
Anselmo Date 2353-08-14 Location: The Wild World, Grand Forest, Sector HY-4923
Other than the sound of the QRTVs engines, Isis and Bastet heard nothing but the sound of leaves rustling through the wind as they ran through the jungle. With her own body pressed against Bastet's back, both woman and animal were in such synchrony that it was hard to tell them apart from the distance. Isis could feel Bastet's strong muscles as the Duvari ran, she could feel her respiration, her heartbeat... After a couple of seconds running, Isis' breath was synchronized to Bastet's, her eyes were focused on the way ahead of them, moving themselves exactly to the same location Bastet's eyes were... With their bodies and minds so close to one another, even their heartbeats were almost indistinguishable one from another. That was the very reason why so many other rangers called the Nasri weird and 'crazy' but despite all the prejudice, despite all the things that people said about the Nasri, two things were ver clear about them. They were the very best on what they did and the bond that a Nasri its Duvari shared was something that wasn't entirely human or animal. It wasn't something one could attain merely by having a Duvari... It was almost an... instinctive state of mind, something between being human and being an animal...
"Me? Using Bastet? He would never understand the bond we share... Isis thought remembering what Vargaas said earlier clicking her tongue in an annoyed expression, making Bastet peek over her shoulder, looking at her inquisitively.
With a smile and a small smooch on her neck, both continued running through the forest. Luckily, they weren't alone as they passed through a wild duvari band. Isis was still irritated with all the situation with Vargaas, but the sight of the wild duvaris playing and especially one wild duvari that came near them to run with Bastet and Isis immediately made her forget about that. She felt so... at home, so refreshed when outside with Bastet. She couldn't possibly stay grumpy or moody with such sights, smells and the feeling of freedom that she had when running...
After chasing the wild duvari and playing with it for a bit together with Bastet, she was finally reunited with the QRTV convoy again, and apparently she got there just in time to hear Jake's speech about their mission. Everything was fine until now, but when Jake said that it was a suicide mission, Isis froze for a second. What did he mean by that...? Surely they weren't just blindly walking to their death... right? The preoccupation stamped on Isis' face was clear enough to make Bastet look at her, nudging her with her nose.
"I won't let anything happen to you, Bastet. I promise." Isis said, hugging her neck.
Even technically being over 400 years old, Nenetl was still a 19 years old girl herself and even the smallest thought that someone could be related to her by blood sparked up her curiosity, so she simply wasn't thinking about even being careful around him. After all, he was a scholar and he didn't seem to want to hurt her or anything.
"Flight...?" Nenetl said, looking at the feathered charm on his wrist curiously.
Did he mean he could summon the spirits of the wind with that charm? Without an offering? Nenetl preferred to do so her way, as it was the natural order of the spiritual world. You should always give something to receive something, but even though... She was very curious about that charm and the strange scholar as well, more specifically, on how were they using the magical energies that were so abundant on that city. Were they doing the same thing her and the other shamans did four hundred years ago? The spiritual realm seemed to be completely in order despite the abnormal abundance of magic on that city. The spirits were also seemed to be calm and tranquil and the flow of the magic was still far away from a critical point. Everything seemed to be in balance, at least for now, but Nenetl was on that city only for a few hours. She still didn't actively searched for disturbances on the spiritual realm or on the flow of magic...
"No tlamanalistli?" Nenetl asked, again using the same ancient language she used before, this time the word meant 'offering', 'sacrifice'. Curious, she looked at the man with the same intense stare she was before, looking directly at his soul and spirit. For Nenetl, it was only natural, but for other people, that intense gaze was terribly uncomfortable. It honestly felt almost impossible to lie to her when she was looking at someone like that...
She heard silently as the scholar asked if she wanted one of those charms, but his veiled challenge was completely ignored by Nenetl. She was much more serious now than she was before as she looked at the man. Little did she know that even if Alisdair's plan to challenge her and make her show her power had technically failed, she would herself give him many clues about exactly what she was...
"Magic energy isn't ours to take. It is only borrowed. To receive something, we must give something in return. This is the rule that governs the magic world, the spiritual world. The spirits that govern the lands and the elements are powerful... Much more powerful than any mortal can immagine... I already saw... witnessed... their rage when this rule was broken..." Nenetl said, with a distant stare, almost as if remembering the past.
"It is my duty as the last of my kind to maintain the balance. I am alive only for this purpose. This is why Tonatiuh gave me a second chance... So I can ammend for the sins and mistakes made by me and my kin." Nenetl said, with a serious expression.
"Please, show me how this... charm... works. I have just arrived on the city, so I'm afraid I didn't have enough time to visit the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm holds an infinite amount of power, but it is fragile and delicate. If certain rules are broken, it will lash out... And I would hate to see that happen again." Nenetl continued, looking at the man with a serious stare. At that moment, she didn't look just like an exotic, beautiful woman. She knew what she was talking about. An aura of wisdom and authority emanated from her as she looked directly to your soul.
"If I had wanted you dead, you would've been dead." Bast heard the Varjan replying, saying that he wanted to lift the nightmares that haunted their dreams or something.
Bast was already irritated and annoyed by the situation, but hearing that he could have killed Bast if he wanted was the last drop. Such audacity! Every second that it passed, Bast's expression became darker and darker. He knew he couldn't kill that man, but he wouldn't save himself from a good beating and humiliation. Bast wouldn't let someone stain his honor like that and remain unpunished...
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the second Bast was almost activating the card, a winged, golden haired armored woman sent him flying back through the same window Bast and him entered the warehouse.
"Hey there. Are you alright?" "That was a close one, wasn't it?" Bast heard her asking with a soft, concerned, but somewhat tired voice.
"Thank you... Miss Valerie, I suppose?" Bast said, cleaning the dust off his clothes with his hands with the card still floating with blue flames around it.
"I guess that it's for the best. Neither Gina or Eilidh would be happy if I killed him." Bast murmured to himself in an annoyed tone, getting the card with his fingers and making it disappear with a flourished hand movement.
"Varjan warriors... There is no talking nor reasoning with them. It's useless to try to reason with such barbaric animals..." Bast said, with an obviously irritated expression.
"I'm sorry to show you such unsightly display, miss Valerie. But I believe you are well acquainted with the Varjans and share my point of view regarding them, yes?" Bast asked, closing his eyes and sighing, calming down himself.
But before he or the winged woman could say anything more, a familiar voice came from outside.
"Bast? Are you alright?" Eilidh asked, peering inside the warehouse.
"Don't worry. I'm ok. Irritated and annoyed, but ok. Next time I wont be so kind to give them time to talk..." He said, finishing cleaning and straightening his clothes.
"What about you and Gina? What happened with the other brigands? Are you two ok?" He asked, looking towards Eilidh.
Freyr kept silent as Haley spoke. He was glad that she was so understanding and kind. But he knew that it wouldn't work. He knew he shouldn't have let his feelings take control of him... She was a Siren after all... She was probably used with others having feelings for her. That was probably the reason why she 'rejected' him, or at least he thought she had rejected him, in such a delicate way.
As soon as she finished speaking, Bart came back together with Talia, asking how the fence was going.
"Yeah... It's going ok." Freyr said, with a distant expression.
"Hey you two, me and Freyr are going to take a break for a bit since we've been at it for too long. But don't worry, we won't take too long. Don't really want to have fine ladies like you to be doing backbreaking work." Bart said, probably wanting to know how things went with Haley. It wasn't that Freyr didn't like Bart trying to help him, but at that moment, he preferred to be alone, but not wanting to show others that there was something going on, he simply went with him. There was also the fact that he didn't have a choice, as Bart wrapped his arm around Freyr, dragging him away.
Exactly how Freyr expected, Bart asked how things went with Haley after they walked away.
"Letting my feelings take control over me was a foolish thing to do. She is a Siren. She surely is used with others having feelings for her." Freyr said, with the same distant expression from before.
"It's probably for the best. A Viera and a Siren... Such a foolish dream..." Freyr said, sighing.
If Rich got closer to her, he could almost feel her eyes wandering through his body, licking her lips as the very tip of her fangs reflected the dim light from the bar area. It was undeniable that she was excited, but the reason for her being like that might not be the same for Rich. As he slid along the bench towards her, Corinna simply continued gently touching his cheek, her eyes fixed on his, staring at him with such intensity that it was hard for him to break eye contact, while at the same time, slowly changing her position on the bench as to press him against the corner.
“Maybe I’m not as innocent as you think I am…” Corinna heard him saying, making a mischievous smile appear on her face.
"Don't worry... Even if you were, it wouldn't last for long... I will make sure to get rid of every drop of innocence when I'm done with you." she said, with a mischievous smile, putting his back against the corner of the bench, near the wall and pressing him against the cushioned bench, almost standing on top of him.
Running her sharp fingers along his neck, she put just a bit of pressure, enough to make a superficial cut, smiling as a thin crimson line appeared on his neck. Putting her other hand on his throat, with a firm grasp, she kissed him intensely, biting his lower lip with her fangs, just a tiny prick, injecting only a small drop of tranquilizing venom.
"Don't worry... You will still feel everything... I wouldn't be so cruel to deprive you of the pleasure, it's just enough so you won't scream... too loud... It wouldn't be as satisfying for me if I wasn't able to see your reactions, so don't hold back... Show me, I want to feel your pain, I want to feel your pleasure... I want to see your terrified expression as you fear for your life, I want to see your moans of pleasure, I want to hear you crying for me, I want to hear you begging for me!" Corinna said, almost whispering on his ear with a bit of blood on the corner of her mouth as she lowered her head and slowly licked the cut on his neck.
That taste... The sweet taste of fresh blood and vis... She had longed for that for so long... So long... It was hard to control herself now that she tasted it. Even if they were in the darkest corner of the bar area, sitting on a couch near the corner of the room, she knew she couldn't go all out... But it was hard to control herself...
As she raised her head again, looking at rich, her cheeks were red, her eyes, her expression, filled with an almost unsatisfying, almost... obsessive... lust. Arousing, maybe, but it was definitely scary. The worst part was that she now was completely on top of Rich. Even with her elegant and beautiful body, her firm grasp and her strong legs pinning him left no doubts that it would be hard to escape, and as Rich felt the drop of venom slowly making effect, the already small hope he could have was slowly, but surely fading away.
"I won't kill you... So don't break on me... Not yet... I'm still not... satisfied... I still have so much to do... You are mine, Rich... Only... mine... So don't break!" Corinna said, breathing heavily as she kissed him again, still with one hand on his throat with a firm grasp, almost enough to make him gasp as she kissed him, running her sharp fingers through his chest, cutting his skin and the collar of his shirt.
The smell of blood seemed to excite her even more, as the second she cut his chest, she started to kiss him even more intensely, biting his tongue at the same time, savoring his blood and vis. He could feel her skin, her surprisingly strong legs pinning him, his excited breath... Pleasure, pain, terror... What would he show her first?
Nenetl was completely oblivious to the rest of the world as she looked to that strange figure. Something in his aura was strangely familiar, even if just a very tiny bit, it was enough to make her incredibly interested. The vampire's words were nothing but unintelligible noises as Nenetl was completely focused in analyzing that strange man's aura. As he waved at her, Nenetl's curiosity only grew stronger after she saw some feathered charms and talismans on his wrist. She knew she said to herself that she had forgotten about her past, that the old Nenetl was dead, but she couldn't help but be curious... Did that man know about the old shamans and their art? Was he some kind of 'modern' shaman?
"That would be four dollars for the peppers. So your total will come to fourteen dollars for both items." Seorsa's voice interrupted her thoughts, making her pay attention at the boy again.
"I-I'm sorry... I got a bit distracted..." Nenetl said, still with her eyes glued on the strange person a few meters away from them, making sure she wouldn't lose him.
"Here you are. I will look for you on the academy. Don't worry, I will ask around, I'm sure I'll be able to find where it is." Nenetl said, putting the money on the boy's hands.
"I'm sorry for not being able to stay longer, I need to do... something..." Nenetl said, walking towards the strange man in a fast pace, almost running, with her eyes still fixed on the man.
Finally getting near the strange man, she proceeded to walk around him analyzing him with the same penetrating gaze from before, almost like if she was looking inside him. Without any ceremony or even a word, she grabbed his hand, carefully studying the feathered charms on his hand, her hand hovering just above them, but without actually touching them, feeling their power.
"You..." Nenetl said, letting go of his hand and looking directly to his eyes, close enough that it would make most people uncomfortable. "Are you... teuanyolki?" she asked, using the nahuatl word for 'kin', still looking directly into his eyes.
"Is it possible...? Blood of my blood... Your aura, your soul is... familiar. Appearances may lie, but the spirit realm never does. One's soul tell tales that even the very person does not know." Nenetl said, carefully watching his reaction.
“Sorry kitten! I'll try to not play too roughly next time.”
B A S I C I N F O R M A T I O N Name: Coralie Alias: 'Cora'
Age: Uncertain. She doesn't remember anything about her past, including her real age. Appears to be around 17-18.
Gender: Female
Type: Cat Demon
Abilities
Cat Demon - With the best of the both worlds, Coralie has the dexterity, senses, agility and speed of a cat, and the strength of a demon. Her tiny body makes her an even more troublesome opponent, being hard to hit and having deceptively strong blows for her size. Her sharp senses though can be both a blessing and a curse. Loud, high pitched noises can make her dizzy and even inflict pain, extremely strong smells can also confuse her and she is vulnerable to spells and magics to bind and restrain demons.
Flicker - Illusion magic. Coralie can create a duplicates of herself to confuse her attacker or her target. Those duplicates are mere illusions, and cannot hurt or even touch anything. They are exact copies of Coralie. These illusions can be used in a myriad of ways, including the move she calls 'Flicker', which consists in creating a duplicate of herself while using Flash Step at the same time, creating an effect akin to an 'prolonged' afterimage. The copy created still functions like a normal copy, being able to move & etc.
Flash Step - A high speed movement consisting in a short burst of extreme speed. Although it is extremely fast, she cannot change direction or use it for long periods of time, due to the strain it puts on her body (specifically her muscles, bones and especially her lungs and heart heart), effectively creating a small 'cooldown period' of approximatedly 10 seconds between each 3 flash steps.
Stalk - Hybrid between her natural phisiology and illusion magic. She can visually blend into the environment, providing perfect camouflage, as long as she is not running.
Trickery - An interesting spell. Although its completely incapable of hurting anyhting, it perfectly embodies a trickster's persona. This skill is basically a sensory illusion, being able to do things such as project Coralie's voice to a different location, a tap or a shove on someone's back coming from nowhere or very superficial scratches. While completely unable to inflict any type of serious damage and apparently without any practical use other than annoy and irritate others, this ability is simply perfect for psychological warfare. When used together with her Stalk and Flicker abilities, Coralie can either remain unseen while taunting, distracting, while simultaneously creating an incredibly unsettling, demoralizing and perturbing situation if her target is alone, use it to demoralize and distract a particular target if he is in a group (maybe even separate him from said group) or she can use her copies to throw fake, feint attacks on a single person or in a group while taunting them, forcing them to be in a constant state of full alert, stressing them out and wrecking their nerves.
Loki's Claws - Other than being able to cut through most things and even put a serious dent or scratch on a common blade, Coralie's claws have another interesting effect... They are able to completely ignore certain types of spells such as barriers, portals, illusions & etc. Only considerably strong spells are able to withstand her claws (but even those need to be renewed from time to time as it will grow weaker as she continues clawing the same spot until it tears a hole on them). This particular effect, makes her even tougher to restrain and catch, while also making it rather annoying to defend against her attacks since one cannot rely on magical barriers.
P H Y S I C A L A P P E A R A N C E Aura color: Appears to have no aura while in her true and human form, but while on her 'enraged form' her aura is of a dark red color.
True Form
Height: 5'24" Weight: Hey! That's not something you should ask... Eye Color: Yellow Hair Color: Aqua Hair Style: Braided Pigtails or simply loose. Description:
With only a petite 5'24", a light, tiny and slim body type actually make her look like a small household animal or a pet, the long, fluffy tail and her heavy french accent only accentuates her charm. The only thing that might be a bit frightening to look at are her claws and her sharp teeth, but due to her petite and cute physique, those things are often overlooked. Under her deceptively frail appearance, hides quite a feral beast. Those who seen her angry immediately regret the decision, and often even think how did they even find that thing 'cute'.
Coralie doesn't wear too many clothes, she absolutely despises formal dresses and things that do not let her move freely, often preferring to wear a simple top and shorts. But the most striking things she wear are an steel collar with a small metallic spike in front of it and metal shin guards ending in a rather exotic pair of high heels. Coralie is unable to take off the collar, she doesn't remember who put it, what exactly it is or even why she can't take it off, its simply there. The shin guards are quite an antiquated thing to wear. Wearing armor was simply ridiculous on that day and age, but it was undeniable that the set of shin guards and the high heels were incredibly fashionable. Striking and unusual, but still beautiful. Her high heels are adorned with sharp, hook blades right on the tip.
A little known fact about her is that her feet resemble those of a cat, including having rectractable claws, but since she uses her high heels most of the times, only a handful of people know that.
Height: 5'25" Eye Color: Yellow Hair Color: Dark red Description: Coralie's 'Warrior Form' could be better described as an 'Enraged Form', as Coralie only rarely is in this form since she mostly fights in her true form. This form could be described as something much more 'demonic' and feral. In this form, she is much more menacing, looking much less like a pet and more like a beast. Her tail and hair loose their aqua coloration and instead take the same color as her aura, a dark red color and her teeth become noticeably bigger.
Height: 5'25" Description: Coralie's human form is basically a 'humanized' version of her true form. Hiding her tail, claws, feet and ears, she looks exactly like a young teenager in her human form. Ironically enough, even though her appearance is one of a human's she still has a lot of her feline habits, thus making her being considered 'weird' by other humans. She tries her best to supress her feline nature, but most of the cases she isn't very successful.
P S Y C H O L O G Y Personality:
Coralie is normally very friendly and outgoing. She might look shy or reserved at first glance, but don't let that fool you. Even if she doesn't start a conversation, she would love to have someone to talk or be near her. She has no problems in being alone, even enjoying being by herself sometimes. But if she wants to talk to someone, she won't be the one to start the conversation, instead making herself present around others, waiting to someone to come to talk to her or give her some attention. Call that one of her (many) whims, but its just the way she is... If she is ignored by a long period of time, she will start doing things to make others notice her, such as pranks, provoke them & etc.
Talking about her whims, it may not come as a surprise, but Coralie can be very whimsical and mischievous sometimes. Suddenly changing her mind and even being rather unpredictable with her thoughts or actions. Actions that might make total sense to her, often might appear strange or unnecessary to others.
Despite her cute appearance and diminutive size, Coralie is quite dangerous. Nobody knows why, maybe its something related to her demon nature, but she doesn't seem to have the same 'morals' that a normal human has. Sure, she will not simply attack someone, but if something happens and she needs to kill someone, she won't show not even a single drop of hesitation or remorse after doing that, almost treating that as a joke or a game.
But don't let those scary looking claws or her sharp teeth scare you... Let me tell you a secret: Coralie loves to be petted. Going as far as acting just like a cat would. She can be surprisingly sweet and cute around someone that she took a liking to. Coralie tends to 'bond' with certain people. If you're good enough to her, she will be around you more often, let you pet her more often, listen to you and show her affection more often.
Due to her diminutive size, Coralie has a small complex about her size. If someone is playing with her or only jokingly provoking her, she won't make much of it, but one warning: never use derogatory nicknames regarding her size if you're being serious...
Likes:
Meat / Fish Sweets To be petted
Dislikes:
Vegetables Arrogant/annoying people
To be made fun of or being underestimated because of her size. - Pretty self explanatory. It is something that makes her incredibly irritated and angry. Coralie has no problems with friends or close ones jokingly provoking her & etc. But if someone looks down on her because of her size, she gets really irritated.
Fear:
To be caged or chained - Coralie has a deep fear of being caged, chained or loose her freedom. Its so severe that Coralie would rather kill herself if she realizes that she would never be able to escape.
Greatest Hope:
Finding a place where she is welcome, a place where she can call home and people who understand her and won't hate her just because she is a demon. Maybe even finding a special someone to be by her side.
Habits:
Hissing, purring, her tail's position & etc.
Hobbies:
Sometimes she enjoys stalking and playing tricks on people while invisible, or simply stalking someone out of curiosity.
H I S T O R Y
Coralie's past is as uncertain as her origins. Aside from her heavy french accent, there are no other clues about her past other than the mysterious collar on her neck. Whenever she tries to think about her past, she simply can't think straight. Its almost like if there is a wall of mist preventing her to remind her past. While she is certain that the necklace certainly is a key to knowing her past, she doesn't care about it that much.
Other people would be obsessed about their past and try to learn about it at all costs, but not Coralie... She simply ignores that fact, instead just doing whatever she feels like doing. She doesn't have a 'house' of her own or a fixed home, instead always hanging around on inns or lodges. Despite her incredibly unusual looks, she is often seen almost like a 'pet' on these places if people are able to ignore the fact that she is a demon.
Even though Coralie never stayed in one place for too long, she has been living with the dark kitsunes for a while now, as they have no problems with who she is and treat her incredibly well. The fact that the dark kitsunes she is living with are basically elders of her kind and she is just a rebellious teenager to their eyes can cause some small conflicts sometimes, often ending with Coralie just walking away.
O T H E R A D D I T I O N A L I N F O R M A T I O N Other:
Coralie doesn't like being in her human form. She finds it somewhat uncomfortable.
Secret Word: Moonlight (was the old secret world XD)
Shimmerstone, the famous capital of Eania. The striking change from the country's dirt roads to the capital's paved, stone roads and white buildings were incredibly obvious as Henri sat down on the carriage in a relaxed posture, looking outside with the corner of his eyes. Henri himself had never been on Shimmerstone before. Much less during the famous Summer Solstice Festival. His feelings about that were... complicated. While being in a big city, in a festival was something that he was already used to, and brought him memories of his days when he lived with the Larue, it appeared that they would be 'honor guests' that time, based on the fancy carriage and all the 'diplomatic immunity' talk... But unlike Henri, his companion, the innocent and adorable Lyn seemed to be ecstatic by all that. Looking at her smile as she looked outside was... refreshing, even with Henri's sour mood at that moment.
“So… ever been to Shimmerstone until now?” He heard Lyn asking him.
"Heard stories and rumors, but never visited it before." Henri replied.
"Can't say I'm that excited about it though... I am a circus artist, a rogue, or as the nobles like to say, a thief and a troublemaker. I feel comfortable walking amongst the common folk, but with nobles... things are different. Let's say me and nobles are like oil and water." Henri said, with an annoyed expression, letting clear his discomfort with the mere idea of having to be amongst them.
"The part about obeying the laws will be a tad difficult, but I will try to not stab any arrogant noble... If they try to fight me though... then it will be another thing..." Henri said with a smirk.
"But I'm grateful that I am your companion to this trip. Your cheerful and happy behavior helps to counter my bad mood." Henri said with a chuckle.
It was going to be hard to fight against all those opponents without hurting them, but luckily for both Bast and Eilidh, Gina had finally finished preparing the song she wanted to play.
"That takes care of that." Bast heard Gina saying, as all the brigands dropped on the ground asleep.
"Thank you, Miss Gina. It would indeed be very hard to push back all those brigands without using force. I am actually surpri..." Bast said, lowering his guard as he thought that the fight was over, but unfortunately for Bast, he was wrong. Even before he could finish speaking, an armor clad warrior charged him, tackling him into the farmhouse window. Caugh completely off guard, and away from Gina and Eilidh, Bast was still slowly getting up when the warrior grabbed him by the collar, putting him against a wall.
"Is it true? Is what Sindri said all true?! Are monsters all bloodthirsty and crave the flesh of men?!" The dark warrior asked, demanding an answer from Bast immediately.
Bast was honestly irritated with the situation and disappointed with himself by lowering his guard like that and the warrior's ridiculous questions only accentuated that fact, making him almost consider the fact of just making a card appear on his hand and smiting the armor clad warrior with a beam of energy, but the fact that the warrior didn't seem to want to hurt Bast at all made him hold himself.
"Use your head a little bit, warrior." Bast said, with a expressionless face, hissing to the man. His patience was running thin, but he promised to Gina that he wouldn't hurt anyone, and he wasn't a man to break his promises.
"Have you even tried to assess the situation? My cane rapier is sheathed, and I haven't even used any lethal or harmful spells... yet. The centaur has only been defending the attacks your brutish and uncivilized friends threw at her, and the gandharva just played a tune to make the other brigands sleep, instead of trying to hurt them." Bast said, looking directly at the warrior's eyes with a piercing stare.
"In fact... The gandharva, a monster, was the one that asked us not only to not kill anyone, but to refrain from hurting them as well. In the other hand, your friends were the ones that attacked us first, without even trying to hear our words. Who are the real bloodthirsty monsters, I ask you?" Bast continued.
"Now... I would appreciate if you let me down. After all... I am not a kind monster, but a human... Just like you and your friends..." Bast said in a veiled threat as he made a card appear on his hand, raising them near the warrior's ear as it started emanating a dangerous magic energy.
"Honestly... If you wanted to talk, you had but to ask, like any decent, civilized gentleman would do, instead of charging me through a window..." Bast said, still looking directly towards the man's eyes.
That situation was rather preoccupying. Bast could easily get free from the warrior by using magic, but the real problem was that he was separated from Eilidh and Gina, and he didn't know if they were ok or if they were being attacked again. "A dear friend made me a personal request to help her with something. Due to that, I can't hurt or kill anyone today... While I don't want to break the promise I made, my patience is running thin, and I certainly won't just stand still and refrain from defending myself in a potentially dangerous situation, like this one." Bast completed.
"I have absolutely no reason to lie to you, but you don't need to trust me if you don't want to. Just look around and see with your own eyes what just happened." he completed, waiting for the warrior's answer, while still holding the card near his head. If he made and different movement, anything weird, he would immediately make the card release a beam of pure energy.
"We are not here to hurt anyone. Nobody needs to die today. Make the right choice, warrior." Bast said, still waiting for his answer.
Freyr almost jumped, embarrassed and very surprised when Haley repeated his last words. He didn't realized he was talking out loud. A torrent of feelings flooded his mind. Embarrassment, anxiousness... Why was he acting like that? It was simply ridiculous! Just a small step away from letting all those emotions out, Freyr closed his eyes, breathing deeply and continued putting down the fence, looking down in complete silence as Haley continued talking. Even though she was still laughing and with her usual cheerful behavior, she could be acting like that just to try and avoid an uncomfortable situation.
"P-please, don't worry... We were indeed talking only about our performance..." Freyr said, still looking down as he tried to change the subject, with a somewhat sad expression.
"He was just asking how it was being to go on a mission with you, since we are very... different... from each other... But don't worry, I do like to be on missions with you. It's not as lonely as it would normally be if I was alone. And your cheerful self often make me stop thinking about bad things and lift my mood." Freyr said, looking down and putting his hand on his face, disappointed with himself.
Such a childish mistake... To act out of impulse and let his emotions take control of him... He would be lucky if he could trick Haley into believing that he and Bart were only talking about performance... He didn't want to ruin their friendship, or make things awkward. Luckily, Bart wouldn't speak about anything that Freyr said to him previously so Freyr could simply let that conversation be forgotten. He had to learn to deal with those feelings. He never felt them before, but as a Viera hunter, he shouldn't let his personal feelings get on the way of his hunts...
"I'm... sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have chosen my words more carefully... I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or created an awkward situation... Just... just forget about that, ok? I hope we can continue being friends and going on missions together." Freyr asked with a troubled expression. It was clear that he was hiding something, since he normally wasn't that... emotive... or even displayed such feelings.

Isis almost let out a provocative smirk when she heard Jake's words to Prophet. Apparently, she wasn't the only one a bit... irritated... with the Prophet's behavior. She hoped Jake would be able to control Vargaas' erratic behavior. She didn't know what they would find in the place where the 'event' was going on, but in the worse of cases, things could get pretty bad, really fast, and they wouldn't need someone they couldn't trust working with them. Even if Isis was more accustomed in working alone, it was undeniable that they didn't know anything about that anomaly, and it was better to be prepared.
With that matter (hopefully) dealt with, Jake was quick to reorganize the team as he shouted a stream of orders to those around him. In around 90 minutes they would be going, so he suggested them to get what they needed to and check their equipment. Isis herself already had everything she needed, despite the weird looks she received from others when she said so when wielding only a bow, their looks and commentaries were met with a confident smirk by Isis. Guns were loud, prone to jam and break. They required too much maintenance and were very unreliable, at least on Isis' view. The bow on the other hand was strong enough to pierce even the toughest hide while at the same time, not requiring any maintenance and extremely flexible on how she used it. It also had the incredible advantage of her being able to make arrows and poison them.
"Last checks boys and girls! If you didn't bring it you'd better not miss it! Corporal. Fire up the engines and get ready!" Isis heard Jake saying as the time he gave them to prepare themselves was running out.
"I was already ready the second I got here." Isis said with a smirk and a confident expression, laying down on Bastet's back as she played with the Duvari, tickling her ears from time to time, making her turn her head back and nudge Isis with her nose, protesting.
"See you guys down there. I will take the cargo elevator with Bastet. Will meet you guys in a minute." Isis said, looking to the group as she and Bastet went to one of the cargo elevators.
The elevator in question could be called anything, but it was certainly not comfortable or pleasant. A huge metal platform held by thick chains. She knew it was... probably safe, but it was still incredibly uncomfortable both for her and Bastet.
"Come on Bastet, no need to be like that..." Isis said, looking to the duvari as they entered the platform. It was clear that Bastet did not trust the elevator, as it was made evident by her crouching posture, ready to jump out of the elevator as she looked towards the trunk of the gigantic tree that gave that base it's name. After a few minutes trying to convince the technicians that Bastet wouldn't jump, they finally started their wobbly and uncomfortable descent to the forest floor.
Above Bastet and Isis, they were able to see the QRTV, hanging from chains, just waiting for the final confirmation before being lowered.. Apparently, Bastet and Isis weren't the only ones that would have to go through a quite unpleasant experience... The vehicle, although bulky and certainly well armed and armored, seemed almost to be to big and heavy for the chains to hold.
Isis and Bastet were almost halfway through when they heard a loud noise coming from above them. The QRTV's safety levers were released. The hulking metal vehicle passed through them in a barely controlled speed, hitting the ground and bouncing after the fall was finally over.
It didn't matter how many times Isis saw that, it was still surprising to see how resilient the QRTV was. Bastet in the other hand, albeit already have seen that drop and using the cargo elevator a lot of times before, was still very uncomfortable with that, enough for her to jump down from the platform to the forest floor as soon as it was low enough for her to not hurt herself, landing just a few meters away from the QRTV formation.
"Such a scaredy cat..." Isis said, lightly running the tip of her clawed gloves through Bastet's neck, making her shiver. In response, Bastet growled and shook her back jokingly, making Isis have to hold on tight to not fall. To those that were seeing them for the first time, Isis and Bastet's relationship was certainly intriguing, as it was almost like if Bastet understood what Isis was saying or what she wanted just by the way she looked at her.
"Stop it!" Isis said, laughing as Bastet stretched herself like a big cat would.
"I'm sorry guys, she is still not accustomed with the cargo elevators and she is a bit excited in being on the forest again." Isis shouted over the QRTV engines to the formation near them. A very big duvari landing near them was surely something that would scare or at least alert the others who were driving the QRTVs, so Isis felt like she owed them an apology for Bastet.
"Ready whenever you are!" Isis shouted once more, with Bastet assuming a running posture. Almost if she was trying to race the QRTVs near her. Isis couldn't help but to laugh. Although Isis was still a very dangerous animal, bred and raised together with her to be a serious hunting companion and a hunter herself, she still loved to play with Isis when she had time to. After all... They were basically sisters. That was one of the main reasons why people called the Nasri weird and 'eccentric', due to the fact that their bond with their duvaris was incredibly strong and different from the normal.
"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.
Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and ascend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity
It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"
