Current You know you're getting old when you start getting excited after discovering a new cleaning product that makes it SO, SO MUCH easier to clean stains from the bathroom floor.

I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

Karina Frost

Maintaining her frost magic in a place surrounded by fire was really taxing to Karina's body and she could feel it in her flesh, but luckily for her, her shouts towards Chres seemed to have some effect, as he immediately started weaving the heat constructs. Karina didn't know that well the circumstances behind Chres' desire to die or all that 'self punishment' thing but she could feel that there was something more to that... Especially on how he froze before she had to shout at him. Was it something related to him being already 'touched' by the cultists' powers? Although right now wasn't really the time to be accusing possible allies, Karina wouldn't let her guard down nearby Chres.

In another hand, Octavio's actions were rather surprising to Karina. She knew very well how nobles reacted to being ordered and she assumed Octavio was no different. She was really expecting to be a bit more... forceful... with him, but surprisingly enough, he simply did what he needed to do. He probably knew that there was no room for pride or complaining. Octavio's illusion took an... exotic form, taking the shape of two noblewomen, wearing gaudy clothes, replete of jewelry and feathers. It was really something Karina expected to see in a noble ball or something like that and most definitely, not in a battlefield. But they would soon prove to be very effective. With a snap of his fingers, Octavio sent the illusions towards the cultists. The loud rattling noises, the long dresses impairing their movements and the distracting colors were surprisingly effective.

With the heat construct ready and Octavio's illusions distracting the cultists, they were able to buy enough time to make their escape.
Octavio's lynx was the first one to go, crossing the bridge with agile and fast movements like it was nothing. Octavio was the second one, but after walking for some time, he simply stopped walking, freezing in the same place for a few seconds after looking down. The smile on his face and the graceful behavior were gone in a flash as he simply stood in silence, walking again after a few seconds without saying a word.

As she waited for everyone to get through Chres' heat constructs, Karina continued to hold back the flames as much as she could. She knew that the moment she stopped her ice magic, the flames would advance at an alarming pace. After the innkeeper and his family went through the window, Karina stopped the cold air emanating from her. As soon as she did so, the flames immediately advanced, burning everything they touched with an alarming speed and intensity, slowly, but surely making their way towards them.

"Be quick, Chres. I can't hold back the flames anymore. It's too hot in here for me to do anything!" Karina shouted towards Ches after she heard him saying he would just get some jade candles before going with them. Even though Karina herself had already picked up some of them, she only got two or three, definitely not enough for an entire group.

Jumping out of the window with an swift and agile movement, she went through the heat construct without much problems. Soon after she got on the other side she looked to the group.

"It's far too hot inside and the smoke is very dangerous... I said Chres to run but I can't hold back the flames anymore." Karina said, kneeling down for a second, breathing in and out, regaining her breath. Everyone near her could clearly see how pale her skin was, even more than normal and how cold her breath was.

Small post for Bast to make him meet up with Titanica, so I won't make you wait much more.

@Lacroix

Albeit Bast has already left, feel free to make Vanessa react to his greeting, as he will definitely remember what she said (besides, he wasn't lying when he said he wanted to invite her for a cup of tea or wine to talk for a bit.)
Bast Ragoczy

"Perfect! Maybe with this you can forgive me for leaving you alone?" Bast replied to Eilidh with a charming smile, studying her reaction. It was always amusing to see her blushing but this time her reactions were a bit... different from the usual. A bit more difficult to read. Bast wondered if it was because he spent some time away from her or maybe it had something to do about how he greeted Vanessa...

"Shall we go then?" Bast said, gently taking her hand.

"Miss Titanica was heading out for the same request we are going to take if I'm not mistaken. We should meet her right outside the guild. This request will also be a good opportunity for us to get to know her a bit better, since apparently she will be staying with us for a while... At lest until she pays for the hole in the building" Bast said, laughing.

After walking a bit, they finally met Titanica who was already outside walking.

"I believe you're Miss Titanica, right? I'm terribly sorry for the delay." Bast said with a discreet greeting.

"I'm Bast and this is Eilidh. I believe you were the one responsible for that hole on the guild's building, right? That was quite the powerful explosion!" Bast said, laughing amicably.

Sorry guys... I am feeling like I'm being a massive pain in the ass with all these 'lemme just interact with this PC real quick before going' lol

IT's just because we have so many interesting PCs lol
@Lmpkio

Once again, I'm terribly sorry to make you wait for me T_T

I was going to write my post today but I had to deal with some rather urgent RL issues so I spent the entire day doing boring adult stuff...

Anyways, I plan to have my post done tomorrow, but before that I thought it would be a good idea to ask @Lacroix if I should wait for Vanessa's reply or if Its ok for me to post.

Finally posted! XD

@Lmpkio

Really sorry for making you wait, I promise it will be quick. Bast should already be meeting up with Titanica on the next post.
Bast Ragoczy

Bast was silently watching as the new arrivals quickly began to present themselves. The ever so curious other members of the guild were eager to know more about them. Amongst the new arrivals, one in particular called his attention. Her name was Vanessa Blackbourne. Even though she mentioned Varjo upon first presenting herself, it was obvious to Bast that she was a proper lady. Especially how she greeted Bartholomew. Polite, graceful, dominating perfectly the social etiquette that every noblewoman was expected to know and especially sharp and clever while doing so. Charming and beautiful, but also incredibly dangerous, Bast knew well the type of woman who knew that words could be sharper than any sword. It's safe to assume that he was pleasantly surprised with the thought that the new arrival could be rather similar to him.

In the corner of his eye though, he found the one he was searching for, Eilidh, getting down the stairs to greet Lady Vanessa. Bast couldn't hide his smirk when he saw how perfectly Eilidh greeted Lady Vanessa. Her surprised expression indicated that she was expecting something a bit... different... from Eilidh.

"Lady Vanessa! I'm delighted to meet such a refined noblewoman! Albeit my time right now is limited, I thought I could at least stop to introduce myself properly. It would be rather rude of my part to not do so. I'm Bast. Bast Ragoczy." Bast said, walking towards Vanessa after she stepped away from Eilidh and finished talking with Bartholomew and Harley, making a flourished bow in a refined greeting.

"Since I came here to introduce myself, I could as well invite you to have a nice tea or maybe drink a good wine and talk for a while on our free time. I somehow feel that we might have somewhat similar ways of seeing the world." Bast said, tapping his cane as he looked to the woman, carefully analyzing her reactions almost if he was studying her with a mysterious, mischievous smile.

"Now... If you will excuse me, my companion is already waiting for me outside the guild and I'm afraid that if I do not go to invite a certain centauress to go with us, she might as well run away from me. Once again, pardon me for having to leave like this." Bast said, with a polite bow and tipping his top hat before walking towards Eilidh.

"You are especially charming today, my dear Eilidh! I am deeply grateful for letting me have such a wonderful sight this morning!" Bast said with a mischievous smile, provoking Eilidh due to her clothes.

"I'm deeply sorry to have distanced myself from you these last days... I had some personal matters to attend to and after I returned, I'm afraid that I couldn't protect you or be of much use when the intruders came..." Bast said, looking to Eilidh.

"Would you accept accompanying me to this request? I would greatly appreciate your company." Bast said, extending his hand towards her with a warm smile.

Freyr

Freyr smiled when he heard Haley saying she would leave on a request. He was glad to see that she was ok, especially after what happened yesterday. It didn't matter how much he thought about that but he could never see the cheerful Haley fighting against anyone.

"I'm glad to see that nothing serious happened with you yesterday." Freyr replied with a smile.

"I... It's better to me to let you go then. I don't want to take much of your time." Freyr said, with a small bow before walking away. He was still rather uncomfortable near Haley and he didn't know how to react to her words or how to face her.

The feelings he had for her, although they were slowly fading, he still didn't know how to face her. On his mind, it was foolish and immature of him to let his feelings take control of him like that. He became simply infatuated with the siren, not even realizing that it could be just because she was a siren and those feelings were probably not even true feelings, just his reaction to her charm as a siren.

As he walked away, Freyr couldn't help but to keep an eye on Lady Vanessa. Even though she was quite polite and had a rather pleasant smile when replying to him and seemed to be a kind and polite woman, he couldn't overlook the fact that she came from Varjo, and Freyr knew very well how people from Varjo were... To Freyr, it was worth keeping an eye on her. He knew it was too soon to say anything about Lady Vanessa, but being cautious was always good. But the second Bart replied to Haley's words after Vanessa said she was from Varjo, Freyr couldn't help but to feel a bit guilty for being so wary just because she was from Varjo. Before going for his mission, he should at least apologize to her. Freyr was sure that she had noticed how... cold his eyes were when he looked at her.

"I-I'm sorry for your family, Lady Vanessa." Bast said, looking to the phantom.

"I do admire your strength though... It takes a lot of courage and strength to keep going forward after losing everything... I, more than anyone else, know this feeling." Freyr said, with a comforting smile. He wasn't that good in expressing his own thoughts and feelings but he hoped that he didn't leave a bad impression on Lady Vanessa, especially after looking at her with penetrating eyes when he knew she was from Varjo.

I was writing a post right now... Already had it 70% ready, but pc suddenly turned off and now I lost everything (RPGuild didn't save the post)... T___________________T

I'll have it done tomorrow.

Regarding Bast, I'll just have him invite Eilidh to go with him then he'll go meet Titanica, Is it ok with you guys?
@Lmpkio

Oh, don't worry. Be it Just Business or Who are you to judge, it's fine by me. Just wanted to be sure XD

If she is still leaving, maybe there is some time for Bast to talk a bit with Eilidh first?
