This line is problematic: "His skills both as a pilot and soldier of sorts has perhaps saved many a life during the wars." War veterans are fine as characters (see Harold), but this seems like a bit of shilling at this point.

The secondary weapon system is a rehash of Setsuka and should be something new, while the drones, even if they are a homage, seem too diverse in their utility, and should be either limited or weakened.

As for pilots in hospitals, feel free to recover at the rate you prefer. If you want hard facts Serah, Sigma, Daniel and Mai are in there, but there are also others due to various injuries.
