Pokemon: New World

@balthazar007 double post 'cuz forgot to ask, but if we equip an item (ie the battle amulet) to a Pokemon, would we be able to switch items out mid-battle? Or no?

Like in the games, hold items will not be able to switch out mid battle.

And thank you for answering @c3p-0h's question regarding Pokemon leveling up. That was a comprehensive answer.

saw the interest check and decided to wander over, poke around the thread a bit. i'm always game for a good pokemon rp. might have a cs up in the near future.

i'm considering playing in an actively malicious character… my characters typically have good intentions (even if they sometimes have dubious moral standards…) so someone a little meaner might be a nice challenge.

i'm still deciding, though. i'm also playing with the idea of a hyped-up goofball or a quiet, more serious and driven character. who knows.

Two Small Updates

Please reexamine the "Ranks" section of the manual and the "Day and Night Cycle" part of the "Pace" section. First, expert and Master ranks have been made easier to obtain. Second, I have elaborated further on which three Pokemon receive a level boost for posting on sunrise of sunset.

If you love Pokemon, if you love character development, if you love creative freedom, then you will love "Pokemon: New World". This is a RP that is already moving along pretty well, but we could comfortably handle many more users.

I suggest that potential new trainers read the 0th IC post, then the 0th Characters post, and lastly the 0th OOC post. The Oth OOC post is the largest, containing the RPs manual. By starting with the other 0th posts (IC and Characters) the 0th OOC post will become a much easier read.

The first thing I will do is give a level to each Pokémon that you mention in your IC post, in the order that you mention them. If someone doesn't mention any Pokemon or doesn't mention three, I will then go to your Pokedex (within your official stats) and level up the first Pokemon listed that you haven't mentioned in your post.

I might be able to clear this up. Yes, your timelines must skip to sunset if you are posting today (IRL). Once tomorrow (IRL) gets here, the sun will be completely gone. You can start a post with the sun still up, and then notice the sun start to set by the end of your post. That's fine. As long as you acknowledge that time is moving forward.

The Starly awoke slowly to the touch of Nick's hand, eye's barely cracking. "Why are you not resting in a nest Starly?" "Munch Munch?" The Starly didn't seem to register their questions as it started to flutter away, almost as if afraid. "Hey, don't leave. Are you hungry?" Nick pulled out a Pokemon treat from his backpack and held it out for the Starly. Little Man shot Nick a sideways glance as if to say 'You had food on you!? And you didn't tell me!? We're going to have to talk about this later.'

Without a word, the Starly stopped trying to hop away. Slowly it turned back. The smallest of grumbles escaped the tiny bird's stomache. As Nick inched his hand toward the Starly, the Starly moved closer in turn. Soon the bird was eating greedily right out of his hand. It didn't take long for the Starly to get full. A good chunk of the treat was still uneaten. "Munch...?" Little Man had been watching the bird eat as patiently as possible. "Sure, Little Man. You can have the rest." Nick gave the treat a light toss toward Munchlax, who gobbled it up in the blink of an eye.

Starly seemed to be amused by the sight of Nick and his Munchlax, "Starly Sta-". The comment was cut short by a cough. The poor bird wasn't just tired, it was sick.

"Look Starly, you can come with us if you want. I'll have you back to health in no time." "Munch Munch!" The little bird hesitated for only a moment before letting out an affirmative "Starly!" Nick pulled his empty Pokeball out of his pocket, setting it down in front of the Starly. With a quick peck, Starly pushed the button and was engulfed in a red light. There was no struggle as the Pokeball's light faded away instantaneously.

"Alright Little Man, let's get moving. It's starting to get dark." "Munch Munchlax!"
