Current Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

@Daglobster I'd say you make a persuasive argument, there. For reference's sake, Marcus is currently in a standard Assault role.
Alessa Heather: Trainyard

Practically before she could respond, Lily had already leapt out and charged off. Ah, to be so bold… she only hoped the young girl wouldn’t wind up being seen as a result of her reckless run. And even if she wasn’t, she’d need a firm reminder not to just run in so casually for next time.

Tulpa didn’t show any signs of getting up soon, absorbed as she was with her activities; Margrave, by contrast, was just as willing to step out of the van as Lily, though more subdued about it, and the Corporal following after him even moreso. Messiah stepped out shortly after him, her face glowing with enough light to hide her features, only to glance up at the newest Protectorate member’s drone as the buzzing of its propeller and the driver’s voice caught her attention, and then to gave a swift, casual salute in its direction before it followed after Lily.

By now, Tulpa had made her assessment. Not long after that, she suddenly had a bit of a moment; Private Skeetz grabbed her shoulders to steady her, whilst Alessa hastily leapt back into the van and asked ‘Tulpa, are you alright?’ It took her a moment to reply, but the older girl eventually responded in the positive, as well as giving a bit of information about each of the capes present there.

From that, as Messiah headed back out of the van and began wandering over toward the warehouse, she extrapolated the following: a lot of unconscious guards, and five parahumans, including at least one each out of the Brute, Thinker, and Stranger categories - either fellow guards, or more likely, Community un-affiliates. Doing what, precisely? Who knew. Probably nothing legal.

Nonetheless, they had parahumans to stop. Or at least discuss matters with. Beginning to walk toward the warehouse, she took half a second to observe Margrave’s… unique approach. She might have commented on it, if Corporal Johnson hadn’t done so first: ‘You do know they’re more likely to hear you if you keep chattering to yourself, right, Margrave?’ She didn’t plan to correct the PRT soldier; doubling her pace, she quickly approached the warehouse, slowing a ways before reaching the building proper as she realised something... odd.

‘Hey, guys...’ she cautiously began to speak, glancing to either side of the warehouse to confirm what she saw, ‘If you don’t mind making sure, could I get a read on any more, uh… cars, around the place? I can see a couple in parking zones with people in them, and... well, maybe I’m paranoid, but those could easily be getaway drivers, couldn’t they?’ And if they were, she’d never forgive herself if she allowed whoever was inside to make use of them. Not that it’d be so much of an issue if they could stop these invaders from making their escape to begin with… but she needed the other fighting Wards and the soldiers over at the building to start things off properly.

Jenga towers...? Ketsu cocked an eyebrow unintentionally, taking another sip of his drink as Yuno berated herself for revealing that aspect of herself. Still, he could come up with reasons for the task that were positive - perhaps a form of meditation, or she just found it fun. Of course, he was offering internal beratements of the hobby, labelling it a fool's errand, but it was enough to remind himself that pastimes such as stamp collection also existed. As a matter of fact...

'No need to worry, Yu,' he soothed, keeping his tone level to show he meant no offense. 'Everyone has something they like doing, after all. I, for one, am fond of playing games of chess against myself; I kind of figure, people see a guy playing chess, the immediate assumption is "nerd", when... well, my aim is not to come off as nerdy, and I don't like showing it off often, either way.' Half-true; he didn't often participate in games of chess against real opponents, because he tended to play against himself not for fun, but to improve his tactical thinking. How could he make the best advantage of the resources he had, how could he hit his opponents with overwhelming force... or, say, force from an angle they weren't expecting? Perhaps it'd be better if he did challenge himself against other chess players, but he'd rather not risk them gaining evidence to support any errant theories from his usual strategies.
Raymond Haywood: Trainyard

Feh. Cake, even if the one guard had come perilously close to wounding him - his power was doubtlessly part of how he’d managed that so efficiently. Now, it was just a matter of finding the box and getting out of there. And as he listened to everyone’s theories about how best to find it, it struck him that his ability might well be perfect for that. He didn’t need to fire the weapon in order to utilise its scope, after all…

And yet, at first glance, it seemed his efforts were in vain. Though he scoped in successfully, and remained at the far corner of the warehouse to start off in order to minimise the chance that he’d be wrenched round at an awkward angle, his attempt to target the box was utterly unsuccessful, despite the fact that he had a very clear image of it in his mind. Then what could be preventing him from focusing on it? Was it not there at all? Had they been had, so to speak?

...or maybe the gun simply wouldn’t be able to penetrate far enough to hit it? Quickly, he flicked the switch on his weapon, morphing it to match his former Steyr IWS 2000 - guns designed to kill humans were one thing, guns designed to obliterate military hardware were quite another. Mere crates would pose no significant obstacle.

This time, his aim was true, his body automatically pivoting to point him in the right direction. And oh, wouldn’t it be easy now to destroy the box with one quick pull of- no, NO. He had a goal, he was going to pull it off cleanly. Steadily, he pushed away from the wall, then began steadily pacing with his body facing the opposite wall, ensuring his neck was never wrenched as he moved, until he was certain of which pile the box was contained within, before scoping out again and quickly walking up to it. it seemed the same, naturally, as any of the other piles of crates in the warehouse, which would evidently be why it made such a good hiding place.

‘I’ve figured out roughly where the box is,’ he confirmed over the communicator. ‘Everyone converge on me. We’re going to need everyone’s help if we want to get out with it before the guards come back to consciousness.’ From the sound of things, though, they already had new company; piling everyone together therefore had the additional benefit of keeping them all comparatively safe, if perhaps a bit more prone to capture should one of their erstwhile foes bear the means to assault them all at once.
Marcus Harlek - "Wolfbane"

Well, well, well. First day on the job, and already, they had a case to work with. The morning, despite his anticipation for it, had mostly been uneventful up to now - get up, prepare for the day, dress in travel clothes with work uniform packed, take the train to work a little bit early in order to have the time to re-dress in work uniform, complete with ballistic mask in one pocket just in case... and then, of course, waiting for a few minutes before the official greeting and welcome from the head of dewpartment.

He was enthusiastic, to say the least. Enthusiastic about protecting America from the Supernatural threat. If that meant starting with some Zeds... well, who ever said people had to start big? No soldier started big, as he knew well, though some wound up bigger than others; despite her miniscule frame, he could tell quite easily that Jessica was one of the bigger soldiers. After all, she was the head of this city's S-SWAT! It was difficult to get much bigger than that without actually being in the army!

After her description of the mission, he took a few moments to consider what he'd need to use for this mission. His classic Sig Sauer P226 TacOps, of course, one of the best guns ever made by the US, and perfect for missions of this sort, especially for firing one-handed when necessary; a quick check to ensure all was in order took just a couple of minutes, and left him feeling satisfied that his weapon was fully functional once he had the right rounds in hand. Likewise, his KA-BAR S.T.A.K.E. was given a once over, the blade given a couple of sharpenings and polished to gleaming before being returned to its sheath. And after that... the Mk 48 would be overkill for a mission like this, he felt, and the Ironman and Brimstone combination left him underequipped to actually kill the rotten bastards, never mind overly slow even with his substantial lifting ability. That left the M4A1 carbine, an easy enough weapon to use, maintain, and check over prior to the mission, especially with the grenade launcher on the underside and a few flashbangs to blind the zeds with if necessary, and the Raider body armour, which ought to be more than sufficient to withstand a few hits from mere zombies.

As he prepared himself, he overheard one of the other team members, William as he recalled, ask what exactly made the zombies tick, how they acted and so on, only to receive a formal explanation from Andrew about how to deal with them. As this short speech ended, he began to chuckle loudly, moving to clap William on the shoulder once he'd pulled the body armour on. 'My fellow American,' he uttered casually with an oversized grin, 'you have no reason to worry. I'd compare shooting a zombie to shooting an unarmed civilian, if I'd ever been heartless enough to do that - I've not, don't you worry, but unless the sorcerer who made them comes back for a check-up, this mission shouldn't be a problem at all. Just gun 'em down, my friend, just gun 'em down.'

Having said all of that, he finally donned his ballistic mask, the wolf's snarl covering his face before itself being covered by the helmet. That, he believed, constituted full battle readiness. He snapped to attention, his time in the military coming back to him briefly, and patiently waited for his next order to come in.

Huh. The guy actually got that autograph, it seemed. And whatever was happening over there, the ghoul wasn't at all happy about it, even if Grant seemingly was; he walked out with Himehana in tow, apparently to speak in private. That said, Yuno had lost her interest in that situation, and essentially asked Ketsu how he was doing, with a smile no less.

'Ah, well, as I'm sure you've guessed,' he began, smiling back toward her and keeping his voice down, both to avoid the attentions of anyone who might object to his job and because it happened to give his voice a deeper edge than usual, 'I recently graduated from the Investigator Training Academy, much as you recently hit rank 2, so I'd say things are looking up for us both. I don't like to brag, but I killed a Chimera ghoul earlier today that even caught Graye off-guard when it attacked us, an Associate Special Class Investigator no less! I fully admit that I was provided some assistance by Seto, but it was a quick and clean job for the most part. Thank goodness, I say.'

And as for her hobbies... well, he couldn't contribute his thoughts on that if she didn't tell him what they were. 'I'd be happy to hear what you managed to pull off, Yu, if you'd be willing to tell me,' he requested politely, taking another sip of his drink after the fact. Blegh, the sugar was starting to get to him, though he'd had many years of practice in not showing it. He hated adding the sweetener to his drink, but he also wasn't immensely fond of the flavour of coffee on its own, even if he enjoyed its strength.
Dirk Messir - Deregulated to Cannonguy

Man, some stuff happened on the other boat. The boat float goat. What a Boaty McBoatface loat. Oh shoat, looks like Ultimate Krabbe is now Ultimate Manne, because he just broke into pieces. Gotta keep doing the...

Why the hell are you on the floor, you jackass?

Divine Purposes told me to fall on down the ground with a backward knee fold, so I did it, and now there's SHHHHHHRAPPPPPNELLLLLLLLLLLL flying over me. Hah. Trump Brigade Prome promed me pain, but only got dumblastery. And then Captain Cedric commands for cannons to be fired, so it looks like he guess he have to fire the guns at the boardleft. The gun man with the big guns, but not Captain Cedric, who also has big guns-

Hurry up Retard! You're going to miss the cannon firing Asshole!

'No, YOU'RE A the butt!' Dirk yelleds, folding back up and going to the cannon and then the Run Rummer tilted away from the King Krab, but not as much as before? Calmer oceas, less tilting. Obviously. And so he finds and lights up the cannons, the two of them that matter, and makes sure they're aiming at the right part of the place where Crabric wanted him to aim them. Which was obviously at Sandwich, so that's where they are going to go. The nerd-ass is was about to get a face fist full of cannon, if he didn't notice all that cannon. And if they aimed right. They probably did, yeah. They're cool guys. Cool cannon guys. Dork wants to meet a cannon guy soon, that would be a cool thing.

Ketsu giggled lightly at Yuno's misfortune, more from the suddenness of her cursing and follow-up expression than the sensation of schadenfreude - though he couldn't admit there wasn't a component of that present. Not that he'd tell her as much; he was actually beginning to like her personality.

'It's okay, Yu. Most people I know swear,' Ketsu murmured quietly after a tentative sip of his own coffee, if only to soothe her conscience. 'It's not like it's a lethal insult or anything.' Speaking of, he got the feeling Grant didn't like him so much, judging by how he'd immediately found something better to do after sitting at the table than talking to the people he'd bought coffee for. Specifically, going over to the two individuals who had entered the building and asking for the idol's autograph. And that prompted a question from Yuno: did he actually like Himehana's music, or...?

'On the one hand,' he uttered quietly, leaning in toward her, 'she is fairly famous, and a lot of people like her music. On the other hand, Grant doesn't seem like a music listening kind of guy to begin with, never mind the fact he's in his thirties... I'd be surprised to see any guy in his thirties publicly admitting they like her music, unless they had no social grac- you know what, it's totally plausible, then, isn't it.' He cracked a grin as he cracked his joke, chuckling a little as he took another sip of his drink. Yuno wasn't wrong about the drinks being hot, and whilst his ghoulish biology would prevent any lasting damage from being had, he'd still prefer to avoid injuring himself in the first place. Little sips, little sips.
@OfWindAndRain@Sophrus Yeah, sounds about right to me. Then again, I'm not a weapons expert by any means, so I could also be wrong.
@superservo27 Underslung grenade launchers are allowed for assault classes, as described in the first post. Full-size? Probably not.
