Object permeance is overrated.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to continue.

These past few months have been difficult for me as my health hasn't been the best. Every time I started to feel better, I was suddenly greeted by feeling like garbage again. This has made it a bit hard to read and write with any degree of regularity. As such, I believe shutting this down would be the best, albeit greediest, option for me at this point.

I'd like to apologize to all of you for not being the best GM. Sorry about that.
some short thing to catch me up to date

Province of Ilagorn -- Adventurer's Guild a.k.a. The Delipitated Duck
12th Hour of the 2nd Day, Summer

Second to last to sign the charter, Siwan wrote his name in such a way that would make any fan of calligraphy vomit: pen held upside down, as if he was going to pick his name into the paper. His writing wasn't nice, either. It seemed sloppy and bizarre with straight lines of inconsistent length forming a barely legible name. By some miracle, neither pen nor paper broke. The fire mage, Mallory, had assailed the group with an intense dialogue that used words that Siwan had never heard before. Spesh all ist? Extra vag ant? Dome eh stick? Spawn ten eighty? Siwan had no idea what any of those meant. He would probably ask Mallory later during the empty travels of the road. Then, it wouldn't be a waste of time. Well, that and he didn't want to admit in front of the guild master that his grasp of the language wasn't as good as he made it out to be. That would make him a liar.

Ier-Brier had taken the charter from him and given it to the next man. This new member was a man, AKA someone who couldn't be a wife. The party remained more female than male, so Siwan was still happy. Nimr was competition, though. Mallory, however, was a much more welcome addition to the party. She seemed to have a more mysterious, womanly beauty about her. At least compared to the other two.

The guildmaster had rattled off a few quests for the party. A lost shipment in the forest - which Siwan felt rather at home doing, a sword delivery, or killing decidedly evil creatures. Ier-Briar had already decided that the shipment was the task they would undertake. Siwan was, of course, fine with this choice. He decided to not ask any questions to the guildmaster. He had no real concerns and was familiar with forests. Rather, he would let the party's mouthpiece of a warrior lead the way. Plus, this way, he wouldn't be inflicted with a critical blow to his ego in case he messed up.
Freshly wounded, the pain surged though Ash's leg. She wanted to scream, but nothing came out. Even though the pain was unbearable, both her body and unconcious mind had been trained to be silent. Forced, rather. Instead of shrill shriek revealing itself, a gutteral gargle oozed from her throat.

As long as she didn't move, she could bare the pain. The goblin, however, forced her to keep moving. Each step brought forth a sharp pain. She couldn't run. With her leg in this condition, all that the goblin would do is chase her down. She had to wait for an opportunity to counter attack, but the clock was ticking against her. If one didn't show up, all she would hve to do is make one. By any means.

All she had to do was wait for the goblin to stab at a non-vital spot. Ignore the pain. That was all that there was. She was good at it. She couldn't remember why, but she knew that she was used to it. All she had to do was grab his arm, make sure he couldn't run, then go to town on anything she could hit.

Like a rat, the goblin had latched itself on Ash's leg. Even though she had missed her powerful swing, Ash's mind gave no quarter. If the goblin wanted to latch onto her leg, she would let it. That just meant it was close and would have more trouble moving. Ash held her machete horizontally, her grip as tight as she could. She held onto the blunt edge using her open hand and, like a guillotine, brought it down towards the goblin's neck, rather, anything that was close enough to be struck. Rather than leave it at one imprecise strike, she lifted the blade a short distance and swung down again and again. She took a bit of care in her flurry, making sure to try to stop the blade before it could cut her own leg.
The respite had been cut short by the sudden appearance of goblins and the pained grunt-like cuss of Matteo. Their confidence had been cruel in this insidious world. With the dagger-wielding goblin charging her, Ash could have just closed her eyes and let it end quickly.

Fuck that.

Ash wasn't just going to stand there and let this disgusting rot rat of a biped go to town on her body. By pure instinct, she knew she had to right herself. If she couldn't move, she couldn't do anything. Her hand digging into the ground with all of the strength she could muster, she launched as much dirt as she could at the face of the goblin. Even if it was blocked, it could buy her some time. As fast as she could, she pushed herself up. She didn't do anything fancy; not a single roll would come out of her body. She simply pushed off the ground to plant her feet on the ground and pushed up as hard as she could to stand. She didn't care about the strain. Mild pains like that were an inconvenience at worst, especially compared to getting stabbed to death by a dagger that's been god-knows where. She drew her machete, ready to make a heavy swing when the goblin approached.

The goblin was like a child, at best. Ash wasn't a strong woman, but she was certainly above average. Her machete had more range, seemed to be more durable, and more brutal than the dagger that the goblin wielded. If she could hit the goblin once, she was certain she could overpower it. If it tried to block, she was sure that she could break its guard. But what did Ash know?
It was a good meal. The theft of a rabbit had sated Ash's stomach. The flavour, of course, left little to be desired. With earth and hunger as the only seasoning, the meal managed to be surprisingly edible. Ash had left the liver out a short distance away as an offering to the guardian of the forest. She was only meant to leave an offering out at night, but the difficulty she had cooking the liver made it feel as though it would be better to give back to nature. Though, that was only half of the reason. The other half was because she felt unsafe eating the liver and would feel quite bad if she let another human eat a questionably cooked organ.

Without much words exchanged with her compatriots, she gave Matteo back his dagger. Luckily, it hadn't really been used to kill. At least, not to any of their knowledge. The flavour of an nameless monster would probably spoil the meal. Still, Ash chose not to speak. She wanted to relish in the more-or-less quiet of the forest. It gave her time to think.
It's Dark Fantasy, so you have to do Death Grips for spells.
