EDIT: I do Play D&D 5e and watch Critical Role if that helps. ^^"
I even run and play some D&D 5e games on this site.

@CaptainManbeard

Have you been keeping up with Campaign 3? Shit. Got. EPIC! LOL
Our characters were just normal humans riding the new Cosmic Dragon Dash roller coaster at Six Flags in Los Angeles on a warm Summer day. But there was a mechanical malfunction and they all tumbled to the ground, suffering fatal injuries. Soon they found themselves floating as ghosts in the Emergency Room, realizing they had all died within a few minutes of each other. They watched helplessly as their families mourned their passing, but before they could fully understand their situation, a portal opened up and pulled them in like a vacuum, flinging them though a tunnel of rainbow lights to a distant fantasy world.

Upon arrival, they gained new bodies reminiscent of their old selves, but altered slightly to exhibit physical characteristics of D&D-type races, such as elves, dwarves, gnomes, orcs, etc. Stranger still, the magic of this new land granted them capabilities far beyond anything they had experienced on Earth. Was it some form of afterlife, or were they actually reborn on a new planet? The search for answers would take them far and wide on a quest of epic proportions...

This RP is partially inspired by both Critical Role and the impending release of Baldur's Gate III, but the fantasy world will be one of my own creation. We will use some aspects of the D&D tabletop game, but what we take will be heavily modified to work for play-by-post roleplays here in the forums. Whenever the main thread is up, I'll include a link to a dice roller, but for simplicity's sake, we'll each just roll a single d20 at the start of each Combat Scenario to gauge an overall success rate of each character in the battle and then write out the scenes accordingly.

To keep it simple and roles defined, I'll make a list a character archetypes that people can then claim. We'll still monitor progression from Level 1 to Level 20, with Level-Ups happening at major story points spread out over the course of the adventure. We won't use health points or numbered stats, however, relying instead on that d20 at the beginning of each Combat Scenario to determine how the characters perform in the battle and how injured they are during/after it. The Levels will primarily exist to determine how many Abilities, Spells, & Proficiencies your character has.

For instance, if you roll a 1, you should write your character's scene accordingly, having them mess up, get their ass handed to them, and maybe break a few bones or suffer grievous wounds. You will then roll a second d20 at the end of the encounter and if that one is a 1 as well, your character succumbs to their injuries, falls unconscious, and will suffer True Death if not healed quickly. Or if you roll a 20, your character is a total badass in that Combat Scenario. More info on that later if there is enough interest.

I was going to list character archetypes here, but I decided to instead wait and see what types of characters people want to play and then work with that. If you're new to D&D, here's one of the Critical Role animated openings to give you an idea of the types of characters that exist:

@Ignorancebliss
I had actually planned to have Red X as one of the villains to attack the Hall and Nightwing's rival, but since the RP hasn't gotten that far yet, I'm fine letting you have him. I'm already envisioning other ideas for Nightwing's rival and archnemesis.
@CaptainManbeard I have a question! Are we also in control of our character’s mentors? Am I supposed to control Wonder Woman if she is in the scene? I just thought about that with the whole Batman possibly having Jinx arrested.

If you want to, but most of the mentors are kinda like NPCs. The focus will be on the Teens and the adventures of their team.
@Ignorancebliss

Duuuuude... your character told Batman that he's been engaging in underage drinking... at the Hall of Justice... LOL. I'll give you a chance to edit that part out if you want, but it's up to you. Fair warning, Batman will probably have Jinx arrested for consuming alcohol served at the Hall of Justice while under age 21, LOL.
I included mention of Steel and the Ray so that Martian has a doorway into that initial gathering there once he's back and able to post. I also left it open for additional back-and-forth before Batman takes them to the security office, to give everyone a chance to play around more with their characters and to give Martian a spot to introduce his characters as well.
Wally’s lips curled into a cocky smirk at Wonder Girl’s remark as she approached them. “What? Are you jealous? There’s enough of me to go around!” Dick playfully punched his shoulder. “Ow!”

“You will never learn and - whoa!” the dark-haired hero saw a flash of red, blue, and pink as a figure slammed into him faster than he could dodge, sending them both to the floor. It was Superboy. He waved off the apologies as he was helped to his feet. “Don’t sweat it. And yeah, you should definitely not use your real names here.”

“I’m glad I came after all. That was hilarious!” Scarlet Beacon said, smirking as he poked fun at his brother and patted him on the shoulder.

“You know, I could have moved fast enough to get you out of the way before Superboy slammed into you,” Kid Flash revealed, then stuck his tongue out. “But payback’s a bitch!”

The teens laughed and talked for a bit, soon joined by several other young heroes. “He should be speaking on the stage soon,” Conner replied to Kara’s question about Superman.

(any further back-and-forth chatter between the characters prior to the arrival of Batman takes place here chronologically)

The group spotted Batman approaching, who motioned for them to follow. He had gathered some of the other sidekicks from around the Hall and led them behind the stage, into a long utility hallway, and through a set of metal double doors leading to the main security office. A few uniformed personnel sat at desks with multiple flatscreen monitors, which showed camera feeds from both inside and outside the Hall of Justice.

The older hero handed each of them earpieces. “As some of you know, your main responsibility tonight will be security, and you’ll be referred to as Junior Squad for the duration of the event. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone uses the publicity of this celebration to make a scene, so keep your eyes open and stay focused. The personnel at these surveillance stations will communicate anything suspicious to you, so take a good look at these feeds and familiarize yourselves with each camera position.”

“But can we still, like, have fun?” Wally asked cautiously.

“As long as you don’t neglect your duties,” replied Batman, emotionless as ever. “Does anyone else have questions?”
@CaptainManbeard

Okay we will see. I am worried about wasting everyone's time.

As long as you read everyone's posts fully and completely as we go and proofread your own posts for errors, plotholes, and inconsistencies, we should be good :). I always type my posts in Google Docs first, proofread once there, then copy and paste into the post window here, add any BB code tags, hit Preview, proofread a second time, hit Post, and then proofread a third time once it's public. Even then, sometimes I'll notice small mistakes and go back to edit, lol.
@CaptainManbeard

Yes i have sir. But i do not want to be a failure, so i am thinking about dropping out. But idk what to do yet.

Well, don't drop out. Let's get a few more posts into it and we'll see how everything goes. If I see any issues, I'll DM you so we can work through it XD.
@Eviledd1984

And you read through the original idea on the Interest Check and understand that the Titans aren't actually a group yet and the first arc of this RP serves as their origin story? Just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna repost part of it here:

At the beginning of the RP, the "sidekicks" are attending the Justice League's Tenth Anniversary Celebration at the Hall of Justice in Washington, D.C. It has been ten years since the League first formed to fight an alien invasion by the Reach (one of the surviving civilizations from the Apokkian Wars), and tonight they are celebrating that union with a gala of sorts. Members of the Press, celebrities, politicians, etc. are all in attendance, while millions others watch on their personal devices via livestream.

For the first few posts, our characters will be suited-up and providing security for the event while mingling with each other and guests, but then everything changes when there is a mass prison break at Belle Reve and most of the League has to rush to clean up the mess, leaving the sidekicks to watch over the celebration. And then, to make matters worse, a different set of villains attack the party while the League is gone, which Batman suspected might happen and warned the sidekicks to be on alert.

So, we'll start there, have a few chill posts at the event, and then set the combat in motion and allow the plot to unfold as we go. Feel free to ask any questions and discuss what characters you'd like to play.

@Crimson Flame@WhiteAngel25

I assume most of the sidekicks will have at least heard of each other or became acquainted to some degree if they accompanied their mentors for team ups or whatever, kind of like how Dick and Wally met, but I left it vague so that we could just go with the flow. Crimson, you don't have to worry about editing your post though, no big deal on that aspect.
