Current It occurs to me that you could turn Alien: Isolation into a TTRPG and have a good time.

Haven't been able to sleep. I miss my dog. 16 years was a long time, but it still wasn't enough time together for me. 💔

Entry 2: Gallulisk

A close relative of the Pokawi. These fowl live in a variety of habitats, and have adapted different behaviors in each one. The Gallulisk has a snake-like tail that ends in a stinger. This stinger can deliver a venom strong enough to paralyze creatures larger than the Gallulisk. This venom targets non-vital muscles and systems, meaning that those stung are still alive and capable of seeing and hearing everything around them. For this reason, predators give these fowl a wide berth, and only attack a flock if starving.

Entry 1: Callidus Fox

These small canine Rahi tend to be quite shy and elusive. They hunt small Rahi, including rodents and birds, though they will also scavenge meals from larger carnivores. They are curious and playful creatures, and have been observed in pairs or small groups frolicking and play-fighting. When approached by Matoran, they tend to flee, though it's usually to a distance to safely observe the Matoran. If a Callidus fox is curious or brave enough, they may approach the Matoran to observe them. Matoran have managed to befriend a small number of these Rahi. Tamed Callidus foxes are stalwart and loyal companions, even if their playfulness sometimes leads them to get in trouble.

What is a Rahi?

The word "Rahi" is Matoran, meaning "not us". The term Rahi is used to refer to the various creatures of the Matoran Universe. Like Matoran and the various species in the universe, Rahi are biomechanical in nature. They primarily function on instinct, and have no balance of Light and Shadow like the sapient races of the Matoran Universe. As such, their main motivations are food, water, territory, and shelter.

What is Not a Rahi?

While most Matoran would categorize certain species of wildlife as Rahi, they are so biologically different from Rahi that they simply cannot be classified as Rahi. These creatures exist throughout the Matoran Universe, and coexist with Rahi in different ecosystems. These creatures are mostly organic in nature, and are capable of reproduction through one means or another. Species like fish make for a good source of food for Matoran and other species, sapient or not.

Rahi of Avsa Nui

Many species of Rahi call the island of Avsa Nui home. Some are unique to the region, while other species have been encountered by Matoran and other races throughout the Matoran Universe. It's quite notable that some species of Rahi are incredibly aggressive, and should be avoided at all costs. A major goal of the Expeditionary Guild is to discover what species of Rahi are endemic to Avsa Nui, and prepare Expeditionary Guild members for encountering them in the wild.

Rahi and Matoran

There are many species of Rahi throughout the Matoran Universe, and some species have been tamed by Matoran-or other races-for one purpose or another. Beasts of burden, livestock, mounts to travel far and wide... the list goes on. As of this moment, the Matoran of Ora-Koro have only tamed a small number of species found on the island, though the Turaga hope to find species of Rahi that can be useful to Ora-Koro.

Species of Rahi of Avsa Nui

I'm currently working on a RP that features a fair amount of world-building (specifically speaking background characters and creatures in the setting) and I'd like to compile them in a thread. Would something like the Character Sheets section be the place to put a thread like that?

[TO BE ADDED: CAST OF CHARACTERS]

Name: Pakaru
Gender: Male
Element: Earth
Appearance: Pakaru is slightly larger than most Matoran. As an Onu-Matoran, his armor is naturally black and dark orange. His eyes are dark green in color.
Kanohi: Rau; his mask has been modified with an inner visor that automatically filters out harsh light by changing from clear to reflective gold
Equipment: Axe, staff carved from a protowood tree branch, bone knife
Personality: A quiet and shy Matoran, Pakaru is happiest observing Rahi out in the wild. He is something of a gentle giant among Matoran, and does his best not to hurt anyone or anything unless absolutely necessary. His self-confidence is lower than most, but the Turaga value his skills with Rahi. While he doesn't like to hurt others or be confrontational, he has a strong protective instinct. He has few friends, but those he has are close. His closest friend is a Callidus Fox named Teina.
Backstory: Even before the Matoran came to Avsa Nui, Pakaru always found himself as a bit of an oddball among Onu-Matoran. While his peers preferred to be underground, he was happiest under the open sky at night. He has always been fascinated with Rahi, and was among the first Matoran volunteered (or, rather, his friend volunteered him as a way to boost his self-esteem) to be a part of the Expeditionary Guild. Most of the Rahi near Ora-Koro have been thoroughly studied by him, and information carefully catalogued.

Hundreds of years ago, we, the Matoran, found ourselves adrift at sea. Searching for a new home, we eventually stumbled upon an island. Despite the dangers, we settled in for the long haul, erecting a wall to keep the island's dangerous Rahi beasts at bay. In time, we created the village of Ora-Koro and began exploring the island. The coast was charted, but the deep forests, treacherous mountains, and boiling volcanoes contained mysteries.

One of the village elders, Turaga Ranga, proposed an idea: an expeditionary force to explore the island and catalogue locations and creatures. His fellow Turaga, Watiri and Nongu, agreed, and asked for volunteers. In the time since the Expeditionary Guild was founded, many species of Rahi have been discovered, and the area around Ora-Koro has been thoroughly mapped. For the time being, Ora-Koro is safe.

However, Turaga Watiri has received a vison: a great evil will come in the future, threatening to enslave the Matoran. Heroes must be created, and the only way to do that is with Toa Stones. Hidden on Avsa Nui are six Toa Stones. These stones, once touched by destined Matoran, transform them into mighty Toa, heroes who wield and control elemental powers as an extension of themselves.

Time is running out, and the Expeditionary Guild has doubled their efforts to find the Toa Stones...
