So what I'm reading is, a race of lowkey lesbian furries who do everything like normal, except it's all explained with magick in some way

They aren't furries! Or at least that eant the intent. Was supposed to be magical beings who live in non magical areas and adapted to it. XD

Hopefully it works...or at least can be edited to be ok if it isn't working...or if it overall doesn't work enough then I have my backup ideas at least. XD

The Crowe

RACE NAME: Crowe (plural form “Crowe”, adjective form “Crowe”)

RACE PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A species that for the most part appears rather human at base, from the face to the skin and the like, though with certain notable differences. The Crowe are innately magical beings themselves, whose long-past ancestor species migrated to the area they live in now. Yet in this case their bodies naturally evolved to produce magical energy by eating physical things as "fuel", and are rooted in fleshy physical forms.

Their bodies usually stand a distinctive size, ranging from 4’5” at shortest to 6’5” tall at largest by the time they become a fully-grown adult. Females are naturally in the tallest end of the spectrum, with the males trending naturally on the shortest end of the spectrum.
Their eyes are slitted and bestial in appearance, possessing keen night vision. Their eyes also are also sensitive to motion, to the point of being able to pick up on even very tiny/small motions in the environment (or from others beings) around them rather effectively within a 50 meter radius. The race’s eye colors tend to come in a range of gold, silver, crimson red, purple, and “mixed” combinations of two colors existing in the same eye (usually one being an outer ring of color and the other flaring out around the black slitted iris of the eye).

Instead of normal fingernails, tough tiny claws that can serve like fingernails are what the race possesses. Despite their size said claws are usually tough and relatively sharp to compensate for this, and are very useful in some general survival tasks in the wild.

Due to the higher altitude terrain they overall evolved lived in, their lungs have in turn evolutionarily developed to be much more efficient: greatly increasing their lung capacity/volume, increasing the ability of their blood and tissues to bind/acquire oxygen for breathing, notably increasing the amount of purple-blood cells (their version of red-blood cells, containing a more efficient variant of hemoglobin of a sorts that uses a different colored pigment) they possess, and being very well-adapted to the low atmospheric and partial oxygen pressures that exist at higher altitudes in general. Their blood is also a lighter purple when oxygenated, but turns a much darker purple when deoxygenated in turn.

Diet, Metabolism, Starvation/Exhaustion, and Effects

They normally devour a very physical diet to sustain their bodies, consuming meat and plants and such as omnivores, with their bodies internally transforming it into the magical energy they require to sustain their lives (rather than relying on an array of natural nutrients). When a Crowe gets too low on magical energy reserves in their bodies, then, they become more tired physically, until they generally need to rest. Extreme overexertion might cause them to pass out cold, and thus be forced to wait and recover. Natural physical activities, such as eating, mating, and fighting, consume magical energy in their bodies much like another creature’s body might consume calories and nutrients for the same kinds of things.

Their bodies can consume fat stores and other tissues, in extreme emergency survival situations where the body has bene deprived of sustenance (food) for too long that is, in order to produce magical energy to sustain the user’s survival. Further, if they’ve generally been eating enough a Crowe’s tired body can recover more quickly for them. The more food-deprived they are, however, and the greater they overexerted the longer it takes for them to recover from such notable instances of overexertion. Just like with any nutrient-fed natural creature, pretty much, that doesn’t get enough of the right food and rest and such things.

These traits of their developed and adapted for the Crowe to survive in minimal-to-no magic areas, though they can still consume pure magical energy to absorb it...as well as get the same effect out of consuming the flesh or bodies of beings that also contain magical energy or are composed of it. It is just that their normal manner of feeding is far more efficient in the areas of minimal-to-no magic they now live in.

Transformation State

Yet when they get into an intense enough emotional state (emotions for them producing very temporary/brief spikes in magical energy within them beyond normal levels), something strange happens. Their bodies transform into a stronger, warped, red-and-black colored humanoid monstrous form that appears “demonic” as a general theme. The appearance vary notably, however, despite its distinctly humanoid base physical form, though individuals in the same bloodline can have similar appearances in this form, if not inherit the same form as an ancestor.

It is a survival mechanism rooted in their innate magical nature, which also can trigger automatically in the face of a strong source of magical energy (such as the fey race), it isn’t anything they can even remotely control or harness at the start.

Reproduction

The Crowe mate through sexual reproduction, though in this case each partner’s magical energy plays the main role in this. Male gametes are merely carriers of samples of the male’s magical energy, which during reproduction carry these samples into the female and merge with magical energy contained within her ovaries and uterus. This mixture of magical energies in the uterus/womb triggers a physiological reaction in the female, which causes the female’s body to secrete special cells into the uterus. When these cells are united with the mixture of magical energies in the uterus, this triggers the cells to form a body that will form a new child/children whose body will be sustained by the mixture of magical energies in the womb. Once the body/bodies reaches maturity and can survive outside of the womb, birth occurs, and the mother will initially feed her children breast milk that the baby’s body will convert into magical energy to sustain itself.

Each Crowe pregnancy results in normally 2-4 children. This can fluxuate to having less children (1) if the female is malnourished, or more of the female is in peak health. Further, two females can perform an exchange of magical energy in the absence of a male, which can still produce a child between the two of them. This latter thing is more a function the species developed in case of a severe numbers reduction to bolster the population, such as if disease or the like tears through their population, though it can still happen on the average at times.

Sometimes, if a female’s cells don’t secrete enough, or a partner’s magical energy fails to mix properly, it can take multiple tries for a copulating male-female or female-female pair to succeed in generating a pregnancy. This is natural for them, much like with any creatures that tries to get pregnant.

POPULATION: 12

RACE BEHAVIOUR: The Crowe are a species that naturally unites into social groups composed of their own, with the largest female in the group taking up the leader position and organization of the group. Females tend to be the ones to go out to choose a mate, with males usually having to present themselves to attract a seeking female among their species.

Usually the hunters, leaders, and fighters out in the world among the race are the wide-hipped females, this merely being due to their size and naturally greater physical strength that helps them much more often than not survive childbirth in the wild. Males tend to be kept back home, to protect supplies, protect and help nurture the non-breastfeeding children, guard pregnant females, and keep the home front secure from predators or other enemies.

A community group/tribe is dedicated to their overall survival, though individual tendencies can be pronounced and visible as well among the members of a group/tribe.

Personality: Outwardly a magus with a relaxed but professional sense of self, someone who might retain a pleasant smile in face of the opposition and held their head high no matter the circumstances. A determined individual whose dedication to her craft and skill in it are not a matter of question. She is someone who as an heir embraces her role, and has set out to Holy Grail War with further intentions and desires of her own that lie just underneath the surface. Beyond her initial persona, however, lies somewhat of a hedonist and blatantly a party girl who has a penchant for drinking above her weight class and behaving wildly when under the influence. Likewise, a cruelty to enemies and that which she sees “beneath” her is also present, along with an unflinching will to do what is deemed “necessary” to meet her goals and ends best. Even if that means others have to suffer for it.

Abilities:

-Scandinavian Shamanism: A collection of Scandinavian-originated shamanistic practices and techniques that survived the test of time within the family, including the art of seidr, preserved from the pre-Christian era. It is a combination of herbal knowledge, various incantations/rituals used to perform spells, astral projection to traverse the nine worlds to acquire prophecies about the future and weave events into being (imagine something like a druid toying with the forces of fate), astral projections to go about placing curses/blessings on things/others otherwise, general cursing techniques (including ancient assimilation of the Finnish Gandr and Gandr Shot, and the evil eye), creating advanced familiars, and even the spells/materials for the transformation of someone else (or the self) into a powerful berserker with proper preparations.

-Necromancy: From utilizing the skulls and/or body parts of the dead to draw out their power/skill/strength to add to the user’s own, to spiritual evocation, to raising the dead as familiars or to serve the wielder, to the creation of cobbled monstrosities, this form of Western magecraft is most versatile and interesting.

-General Magecraft: General and very basic capabilities that a magus who went to learn at the Clock Tower would have acquired. Locking doors, creating a basic bounded field, making basic familiars, some formalcraft, and so on. All of the very basic fundamentals for a magus to learn, in other words, regardless of specialization or specialties otherwise.

Family History: The Sorensen family are magi who practice shamanistic magecraft and are based out of Denmark, though their very nature can be considered...colorful in a sense. Known to practice the macabre arts of Necromancy alongside their seidr, due to the nature of the latter women have long controlled the family as a result of the stigma of association with this and passed-down ancient respect to female seidr practitioners. They are one of the biggest three families of magi in Denmark in current times, possessing the spiritual land of Copenhagen itself.

Occasionally a member of the household had married a foreigner here and here, but the current male head has produced an heir with a a more tan-skinned girl from another family. The girl's family made a deal initially to marry her and her great circuits off to the Sorensen, for use in birthing a good heir, in exchange for a financial loan to keep them afloat. Since then that loan made to the girl's family, aka Diana's mother's family, has been called in sooner than expected. As a result, Diana's mother's family has been assimilated by the Sorensen Family, now subject to their oversight and control as the Sorensen's new "branch family" of sorts.

Personal History: Diana was born the latest heir to the Sorensen family, magi who had long participated in old shamanistic and necromantic magecraft traditions of Scandinavia and its peoples. Combined with formal learning from the Clock Tower, and generations of practice and honing, the Sorensen family took pride in producing a notable heir to their bloodline. Albeit, one that looked more tan-skinned than others...but that a matter of non-concern as compared to bettering the bloodline, in their minds. As the heir to the family, Diana was drilled at home in magecraft without mercy, until finally she was sent to the Clock Tower to learn and hone her skills as well.

For her, it was a time to learn...but also to party with this new freedom behind the scenes. Waking up in bed with some other peer, drinking, laughing, and overall gaining some contacts and friends for it. Outwardly she kept up the “stringent and hardworking heir” self, and did indeed work hard on her craft and magecraft, but in casual and behind closed doors one could find her more open and relaxed than her initial appearance would entail. Her family hasn’t commented on the matter, merely content that she didn’t pop out an illegitimate heir or do something openly stupid whilst she is still honing her skills, though eventually she was called back home a year ago when her family managed to worm their way into the next Holy Grail War.

Mostly just interested in analysis of the ritual’s summoning of heroic spirits and the functions of that for their own ends, Diana has been sent to participate in the Holy Grail War. Her primary goal is to acquire the Holy Grail for her family’s study, mainly in regards to the summoning and implementation of heroic spirits. Secondarily, she is to continue to survive and win to use its wish if it is the fastest and easiest means to procure her primary goal (which is the current plan). However, her survival as the heir is a key factor for the family’s future, and her return to home alive is more important than dying in some backwater magic ritual to acquire some object for research. If needed, she can request supplies from home during the war’s duration, though at the same time she will be evacuated by force if the situation is deemed “too dire” for her.

Other: Has been sent with a good amount of magecraft supplies for the occasion, ranging from materials such as animal blood to chalk for drawing out a summoning circle or otherwise preparing rituals. She also comes with a cellphone, a notably modern thing mainly being used for communication back to her family for emergencies, and a personal taser for mundane self-defense.

I will have my one or two back up ideas just in case this first idea doesn't work as well as intended. Or maybe that's just the after work anxiety talking. Either way, lol.

@6slyboy6 Halp, ended up writing out a long winded manner of how this race's bodies function. T__T

Will be working my stuff for now, just got some done for today and now taking a breather before I head to work. Did manage to work out a heck of a lot of the biology and such tho. Yet I don't want to feel I am rushing, per say, and go mad with anxieties over it. XD

Though one little thing I'll mention is that I am trying to find a good names for this species.

On another note, at least with the main idea approved under conditions...i don't gotta use the backup idea i whipped up just in case. XD

Mysterious vague message of some kind, belying the existence of a potentially in-depth maddening evil threat to some other world? Check.

Group of strange individuals brought together by some means of probably fate? Check.

Strange message that popped up out of nowhere via some sort of advanced device? Check.

Seemed it was time for Round Two of his adventures to begin, something like his past and something like after he'd woken up from the Shrine. A certain mix of nostalgia and deja-vu drifted into his body as the sensation of going on another adventure like this out of the blue. At the same time, however, he couldn't ignore a place in need. Not if such threats were able to potentially spread back to his homeland. Hyrule, and Zelda, didn't need to face another maddening evil...not while he still drew breath. Something had to be done about this "Hamlet" and its issues, then.

"Well...seems that place is in need of help. I can't ignore that, especially if the threats there could spread," the Champion's Tunic-donned hero said with a tone of acceptance and slight exasperation, drawing out his shield and sword in preparation, before starting to sprint after Youmu in the direction of the door to The Hamlet.
