-Master's Apartment, Across from Graveyard, Tokyo-
"Old friend, please, will you not help me?
That man had the gall to beg him for help back then, to plead desperately for his aid, when he himself had gotten lost and tossed far from home by the whims of the gods. Especially after he and the others had disgraced him, a goddess making it so with her tricks, and had tossed aside all the help he had provided them like it was nothing.
He had guarded them all! Protected them! He had slain many lords and soldiers, guarded their ships and their dead, and yet...the only rewards he received were shame and death and madness. His end never came on the field of battle, but by his own hands, as the only one to ever able to lay a scratch on him was himself in the end. It wasn't what that one hero who had prayed for his parents might have wanted, but he could only feel a kinship of sorts for that man in the end.
"...Why do you turn away from me now, Ajax? Is your skull that thick, your head that stubborn over an old grudge wrought of pride?
We were allies, once, brothers in arms who lifted up our arms for our brethren. And i am here, seeking the wisdom of the dead that i may return home."
Bah. What did this man know of pride? His cunning had been helpful during the war, but the man hadn't done anything on the front lines until Achilles had fallen. Then the man's wily patron of a goddess had warped the minds of the others, made them think Odysseus deserved the famed Achaean's armor...when the opposite had been true.
He had been their bulwark, their shield, and their guard when all seemed lost. He had blocked the unblockable Duridanna, slain men from a great ways away by tossing spears and rocks, and more than "that" man had ever done for them out there! What had been tossed aside that day was not a mere prize...it was the very pride and might that had sustained their warriors out there.
Let the fool pay for his foolishness, and how fitting it was for the rival of that wily goddess to enact revenge upon him! Such hubris and attitude as his had been could not be left unpunished by the gods, after all...
...but no, for now there was a voice calling out for him. He could feel the call to battle surging into his mighty limbs and frame once more, and almost smell again that ocean breeze that has once wafted in during the war against Troy.
It was time. This time, there would be no regrets.
A great plume of smoke and light erupted from Cleo's summoning circle, though as the light began to fade she would not find her servant...well, standing at all comfortably at least. The giant of man's head touched the top of the ceiling with great and frightening ease, one of only many generic servant spear weapons he could conjure up in his hands for use being held in the right hand, and...a giant of a hoplite shield with the infamous seven layers of ox hide covering it that was being held in his left hand. His body was covered in dark armor to boot, and a light rage almost seemed to subtly glint in those blue eyes of his...framed and standing out vividly as they did among the strands of his messy blonde hair. This massive wall of armored muscle, also known as the servant Cleo has summoned, then looked down at her without tilting his head. Not that he could have if he wanted to, without pushing against the ceiling.
"...Well, you chose a hell of a spot to summon me, a Shielder, of all people in," the giant Greek said, letting out a notable sigh before moving too sit down on the floor with crossed legs. His weight hit the floor and cause the apartment room itself to very noticeably shake a bit, with the servant himself not seeming to care one bit about it before speaking once more as he set his weapons to his sides, "So, you are the little mage who has designed to summon me to win the Holy Grail? Not any of those other tricky or cheating bastards?"
Ajax let out a booming laugh into the room, which itself could virtually be felt by any living thing with Cleo's apartment proper. But before the master might get out a word finally Shielder cut in once more with his gruff and booming voice. Not that proper speaking conventions were anything he cared about right now either.
"I like that, so i'll cut you a deal:
As long as you don't screw me over and piss me off, by doing something like denying me my wish on the Grail itself or trying to make me kill myself or something, then i'll protect you with my life and claim the Grail for the two of us. But if you cross me, well, there will be no gods in this world or any other who can keep you away from me. I am not going to be tricky, or cut corners here.
Are we clear on things then....Master?"
Aias' two blue eyes looked back into the eyes of his master, like piercing arrows from a brute of a soldier who had decided to get to business and cut out the red tape. He was a warrior, not some politician or scheming cheater like Odysseus. Was one reason he'd liked Diomedes so much, save in part that he also liked that the man for not having been in on the decision for who got Achilles' armor. How would this squishy mage respond, however, to what he had just told them?
Initially Link had been a tad creeped out by the presence of so many hiding places for things, from chest to cabinets and the like that lied down dark and twisting hallways of unknown nature. The dark and vile feel of it all had been more than reminiscent of Hyrule Castle itself when he'd journeyed into its Calamity Ganon-corrupted depths. Sounds from unknown places chattering about in the shadows, as if enemies were circling around, and the dank and musty atmosphere were utterly nostalgic of his former adventure (albeit this was not the best nostalgia) in these regards to a "T". Link had as such kept his sword and shield firmly in hand, ready for the battle ahead as a vile evil lied beyond.
But no evil could scare him away from the treasure hunt, no matter how macabre! His keen senses kept him aware of his surroundings, but even so he felt the compulsion so strong to find what goodies might lie hidden here.
Since he'd seen the first piece of pottery, Link had begun a looting spree unlike any other as Suzuka had walked ahead of him. Quickly entering rooms, tossing open chests and cabinets and drawers, rolling into pottery like his very genetics compelled him to do with a rousing "HYAH!". Every but of money, or jewelry, or other piece of interesting faire he would find along the way he'd quickly stash away in the deep inventory of his Shiekah Slate for keeping...and hopefully for eventual sale, use, or whatever else made sense for it all. And he did all of this quickly, to make sure he kept up with Suzuka along the way as they walked.
The demon girl would hear a sudden "HYAH!!!" as she looked back, only to find Link not standing in the hallway behind her. The clattering of pottery would follow, along with the creaking of highly aged wood, and after a second the form of Link would quickly appear in her line of vision once more.
"I...have been doing some looking myself," Link said as he was poking his dusty blond head head out of the nearby rotting doorway, before coughing a little into one of his hands as he breathed in some of the dust he had kicked up in his haste. The Hylian then stepped out into the hallways proper once more, dusting the rest of himself off very casually as he walked over to Suzuka with a calm air about him. Albeit, his trademark sword and shield had been been put up in the meantime, "If there is anything good here, it might lie deep in the depths of this place or on the body of some monster. At least, if my experience with this sort of thing back home holds true in this world."
Name\Title: Aias/Ajax, aka: “Aias the Great”, “Telamonian Ajax”, “Bulwark of the Achaeans”
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Appearance (albeit with no scars of any sort on his body, the eyepatch is not there, and he’s a giant of a brute in size, and minus his shield in this pic)
His Illustrated Feelings About Odysseus, Agamemnon, Menelaus, the Trojans, Athena, and Livestock
Short Bio/Synopsis:
Ajax, also known as “Aias” and “Aias/Ajax the Great/Greater” and as the “Bulwark of the Achaeans”, was a child that almost never happened if not for the intervention of Heracles. Being good friends with Telamon (Ajax’s father), and knowing Telamon and his wife were struggling to have a kid, the great hero Heracles prayed to Zeus that the two would have a son with a body as strong and invulnerable as his own. To this end, Zeus sent an eagle as a sign this prayer would be answered, and Heracles after seeing this told his friend to name the child to come after the eagle itself (“Aias”). Thus was the origin of Telamon Ajax, cousin to Achilles, elder half-brother to Teucer, and one of the famed heroes of the Trojan War. And indeed in life, and during the Trojan War even, Aias never so much as received a scratch from the weapons or actions of his enemies...even from the dreaded javelin of Hector, Duridanna. He single-handedly defended the Greek forces’ ships when the Trojan rallied to try too burn them down, protected Patroclus’ body alongside Menelaus when the friend of Achilles fell, dueled the Trojan hero Hector multiple times, fought against the Trojan Army to get to and retrieved Achilles’ corpse/equipment alongside Odysseus, and single-handedly slew numerous enemies with thrown spears cast from his hand.
He protected the Greeks army itself as they retreated or move back, and too received the least assistance from the gods of any heroes involved in the conflict (accomplishing quite a lot by his own merits alone). Yet in the end, the great Aias fell not by another’s hand...but by his own. As he and Odysseus both sought to claim Achilles’ armor as a reward for their efforts, forged by the gods as it was, Ajax felt and argued that he deserved the armor because of all the fighting he had done to help the Greeks and protecting their ships and the dead among them. Athena then intervened to ensure the cunning Odysseus was awarded the armor in the end, however, which drove Ajax into a murderous rage. How dare Odysseus get the armor, who had done so much less than he! Aias himself felt wronged, as if all of his efforts for the Greeks so far were being dishonored or merely cast aside because of some goddess’ tricks. In his rage Ajax would have quickly slaughtered Odysseus, Agamemnon, and Menelaus for this offense, though Athena again intervened against Ajax and clouded his mind to see the many herds of the Achaenas’ captured livestock as the men themselves. After slaughtering the herds, Ajax then came out of the divinely-tweaked stupor of rage...and after feeling immense shame for a second time he just outright killed himself using the sword he had received from Hector.
Strength: B+ Endurance: A Agility: C Mana: C Luck: D Noble Phantasm: A+
Class Skill:
Magic Resistance: C
-grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether.
Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals.
Riding: C
-is a Class Skill of Rider and Saber class Servants, denoting the ability to ride mounts and vehicles. Rider-class Servants will typically possess a high rank. It is said that dragon type mounts are an exception, requiring a different ability other than Riding.
Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts.
Self-Defense Field: A
-is a Class Skill of the Shielder class. A power displayed when protecting allies or an allied camp. At this rank damage reduction exhibited by this skill far surpasses the defensive limit value in its potency, with the range of this skill capable of easily encompassing an entire army. Ajax himself is included among the target(s) of this skill when this skill is active/being used.
This skill is such a high rank for good reason as well. Ajax was a warrior whose defensive prowess was unmatched by any other in his day, fully embodying his title as “Bulwark of the Achaeans” due to literally becoming that. He single-handedly protected their army and troops time and time again during the Trojan War, and even held off the entire Trojan Army by himself to drive them away when they tried to burn the boats of the Greeks.
Personal Skills:
Blessed Body: A
-A resilient body blessed by the gods, whilst being enhanced by ones own unyielding tenacity and unshakeable strength of will. It is a natural part of ones existence, being furnished on the flesh and unable to be unequipped or sealed.
When Ajax/Aias’ parents sought to have a child, Heracles (a good friend of Ajax’s father) prayed to Zeus for the couple to have a child: one blessed with an invulnerable body like Heracles himself had, and also blessed with great might/strength. This blessing seemed to hold true in life for Aias, who never received even a single scratch from his enemies during his lifetime...or even during the Trojan War.
Due to this skill, Ajax possesses damage resistance against all sources.
Eye of the Mind (True): A
-A heightened capacity for observation, refined through training, discipline and experience. A danger-avoidance ability that utilizes the intelligence collected up to the current time as the basis in order to predict the opponent’s activity and change the current situation. This is not a result of talent, but an overwhelming amount of combat experience. A weapon wielded by none other than a mortal, gained through tenacious training. So long as there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.
The servant at this rank is capable of calm analysis of the abilities of the opponent as well as the battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. This rank was gained from Ajax’s years spent training with Chiron, his own natural talent in the form of a very high combat intelligence, and also the anecdote of him being able to clearly discern in battle (just by being disarmed by his opponent) that his opponent (Hector) was being favored by Zeus during one of their duels.
Battle Continuation: B
-is a Skill that allows for the continuation of combat after sustaining mortal wounds. It will also reduce the mortality rate from injury. This Skill represents the ability to survive and/or the mentality of one who doesn't know when to give up, consisting of one's strength of vitality in predicaments. It is also one of the powers of a vampire. The best result is achieved when a resilient body is combined with this Skill.
At this rank, it is possible to fight even with deadly injuries at full combat power, though one cannot survive a decisive fatal wound. One can also withdraw from combat and reach allied territory alive, no matter the results or status of the battle, due to having done so many times in life. After having held back an army alone more than once, combined with the high resilience of Aias’ body, this skill has risen to an overall respectable and strong ranking.
Proof of Friendship: C
-a Skill to suppress an enemy Servant's fighting spirit to a certain extent, where then a dialogue can begin. However, the enemy Servant must not possess a Mental Pollution Skill. In regard to a Holy Grail War, an advantageous check can be obtained when constructing temporary alliances.
Ajax and Hector, at the behest of the gods, exchanged gifts after battling mightily against each other. To Hector was given a purple sash, and Ajax was given Hector’s own sword in return. Eventually, this would be the blade that Ajax took his own life with, and which would be passed down to the knight Roland much later to have relics put into its hilt and become the peerless sword “Durandal: Ultimate Unbroken Hallow”.
Given that Hector received this skill from their exchange of gifts, Ajax too has received this skill for the same reason.
Noble Phantasm: (If summoned on staging ground, he would be able to have a second NP in the form of Hector’s sword that he was given by the man himself in life.)
Name/Title: Rho Aias, “The Seven Rings that Cover the Fiery Heavens”
Rank: A+
Type: Barrier
Range: -
Maximum Number of Targets: -
Description: The original Noble Phantasm of Aias the Great, which became sublimated over time into a conceptual Noble Phantasm that is an absolute defense against projectiles. As the original version, this Noble Phantasm is ultimately superior in all ways to the “conceptual” version.
It physically takes on the form of a great vnd very large bronze shield with the trademark seven layers of oxhide layered on it. In this inactive form without releasing its true name, the shield is passive but powerful, granting protection and having durability on the level of an A rank Noble Phantasm in its own right. This makes it highly useful for Ajax’s own personal defense (since it fully protects him personally when used as a shield) or shield bashing people, whilst still being very effective in combat in tandem with the great spear he wields.
When activated, its defensive power rises to its full potential. Seven giant red petals form from, and are centered on, the shield itself, appearing like this in the process (but with the shield incorporated as the center of the flower): youtu.be/JVRDHA9MCRg?t=18 or vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/typemoon/… (two links just in case). The size of the deployed Noble Phantasm in this non-conceptual form is far superior in strength and is notably far larger in scale and physical size when deployed than the likes of its conceptual variant. In this active form the “plus” modifier is applied as well, naturally, and the size of the defensive bulwak deployed by it is of a far larger scale physically. It could even be used to protect an army due to its size, as it was used for in life unironically.
This Noble Phantasm, in its true form exhibited here, is without a doubt an “absolute protection against all ranged attacks".
@Idol Theory will be working on my master later today, is right now for me just barely after midnight at least, but I would be potentially interested in being the master for Caster as well! :O
Could be a cool theme to build a master theme around, since everyone else already seems to have something pretty cool going on for their masters! :-)
@Parallel Hearts I'm on break at the moment at work, but I did go back and make the according edits to Ajax! Hope the new version of the first skill and such is acceptable! :-)
@Parallel Hearts Here is my app for Shielder! Took a lot of hours to get together! XD
Also sent you a DM real quick.

Note: The Fourth personal skill is mostly character fluff tied to the same event Hector got the skill from, just used to flesh Ajax out a little more. :D
Yo! Just got off of work earlier than the usual shift. Which is at least a treat. XD
But i have been looking over Absalom, and i did want to say one something about this in general. Not wanting to sound like i hate Absalom, he's p cool actually, but just to get this potential thing addressed is all this is. Course it is the GM's call in the end, but just wanted to note this to bring up my own immediate worry at least. ^^;
- Spare Absalom, the son of David, My servant EX: All in the kingdom of heaven, man, and demon know there is one man who cannot be harmed. Who when they move to strike, are commanded to by God himself to turn their weapon away. That man is Absalom. This is a skill that acts as the highest form of mental interference. The very words of god. When an enemy servant, master, or anybody prepares to attack Absalom, knowingly or not, the very word of god is sent down upon them. A command not to attack. It is only possible to attack Absalom after he has directly attacked another servant. Telling others to attack does not count as a direct attack. Even then, only the person he has directly engaged with is allowed to attack him.
This skill feels a tad OP with all of its wording and effects, and the rank feels like it kinda makes it stronger than most mental interference protection skills are gonna be at for servants usually. And part of it sounds like a paradox, where someone like a master can tell a servant to attack him but all Absalom has to do is stand there and the servant can't do anything to him because the servant is still making a "direct attack".
Or like, i suppose it seems anyone can't unless he attacks a servant...which isn't the normal standard for Assassins i think?
Umm...hope saying this was ok, and hope you all are having a great night! :)
