Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

@Cyclone what program do you use?

I used MS Paint to do most of the editing but that was pretty stupid. I've heard good things about something akin to a free Photoshop called Inkwell (I think?) and intend to look into it for next time.

Apparently the Warcraft 3 map editor is really good too; just look at this map that was made for one of the old RPs I was in:

@BBeast

Just repositioning. The fire hit and did next to nothing.
Out of boredome I decided I'd take a stab at the role of Grand Cartographer and attempt to make a map of Galbar. Lord it's only been a page and that planet's already a mess... *mumbles about bloody Fractal Seas*

Anyways after toiling for maybe half an hour I made this very crude map.

It's not as pretty as I'd like, the scaling is funny, and I probably could have positioned these things more accurately, but I'm a rookie mapmaker :P

For now I think it can convey general geography, and once Galbar has more stuff I think I'll completely rework it to be better.
Am I the only one that finds this ant business unnecessary and insipid?

Nope. This OOC is cancerous. I'm not sure whether to blame it on Jvan or Hael. Probably Hael; it's always Hael's fault.
*remembers how Vestec made vicious monsters appear out of nowhere in the darkness, then subsequently made ETERNAL NIGHT*
@Kho

Civilizations would be constrained to a few very hospitable zones, which would foster more interactions. I see that as a plus. However half the planet is rendered mostly unusable, which sort of sucks.

I suppose there could be civilization underground or something in the inhospitable areas, though. Yeah, I think I'll do slightly extreme seasons because that sort of drama is what Zephyrion digs.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Zephyrion's air elementals will control the weather, so praying to your local rain spirit might allow you to survive
Hmm, as I'm thinking about the sheet for Galbar's seasons I realized that there's the possibility of doing something magical.

What are everyone's thoughts on really extreme seasons, or really long ones that can last decades as in A Song of Ice and Fire, or perhaps both?
@Cyclone I'm wondering if you can make it so the huge gemstone is one Holy Site and the actual Citadel another...

Yeah something like that was what we were going to do. What we might change it to do as well.

We'll see.
Kyre would be the worst opponent for any other god in a straight up fight. Any volunteers to test this?

A day or two ago I was in a PM conversation and made my own arbitrary ranking for how I think each of the gods will do in a fight. I suppose I'll share it here to see what the rest of you think of it.

Hmm. I wonder if I forgot anyone on that list.

To emphasise plot over game mechanics, and also to help NOT break the system

Sounds like a good way to keep this from being broken, but I'm still considering retracting that last post (naturally only if @BBeast agrees) or altering it to where part of it is Teknall's and part Zephyrion's (and therefore it's not really a joint site) as per one of our original plans. I'll talk to BBeast about it.

I think that's fair considering we made this before all of these rules had been set.

Already told you all I did the math. Why does nobody listen to the God of Order! (Whose player may or may not have an accounting degree)

@Legion02 I'd be down for a Hall of Justice. Logos gets a throne though. A big throne. You can all sit in footstools.

Well, you were vague about how you did it. I took into consideration that I'd be spending some Might along the way and such as well, but regardless, I'm still interested in seeing your calculations if you're willing to share. Specifically I'm curious as to how you're actually worse off 2 or 3 turns down the road. By my math you're way ahead for about that long but then you fall behind once everyone else gets their second holy site and is coming close to a third by the time you only have a second.
