Description
Basenites are a race of nomadic traditionalists raised on the tales and deeds of their ancestors, taught to follow in the footsteps of their forefathers and foremothers to keep their tales alive until the foretold end times. Change doesn't come easily for the people of this nation as it strays from the path of the ancestor, thus the age of steam came at great trepidation for the people of Basen.

In tradition they still wear the furs of slain beasts and little in the way of clothing, to display their scars and tattoos proudly. As a people the Basenites look very much like the average human, both in height and weight as well as physical appearance which ranges from ruddy skin tones to pale pallors. A dominant trait in their society is green eyes or occasionally blue but rarely brown, and hair ranging from auburn to dark brown with blondes being a rare in Basen.

'Live and let live.' is a common saying used by the Basenite, one that guides the nation in times of great peril. Since the founding of the kingdom it has been this way, and it will be until the end times.

If his people were slaughtered without provocation, Yolaf would respond with brutal force as retribution for a crime against his people. He helps those who help his nation prosper as long as it doesn't conflict with his nations traditions or way of life.

Background
Yolaf's father Hans was one of Basen's finest hunters, and beloved by his people. Hans took his son and sole heir to the throne on hunts to teach him to fight much to the chagrin of his mother Josephina, whom gave birth to their son upon the day of the winter solstice. Yolaf's early to late childhood was too short for the boy, as with all children in Basen but it turned him into the man he is today in a way it hardened him.
