But although his appearance may be more deceiving than what he presents himself to be. The skeleton doesn't have parallel versions of himself, he is the only one. Travelling throughout the multiverses since time immemorial, collecting oddites and artifacts lost to history.

Honestly it made the most sense, this whole hero shtick just wasn't his deal. Still ain't but I think it might be pertinent for him to try to strike out and get some personal crap out of the way like find Etna and Flonne.

He'd be rolling his eyes at the words but the action itself probably has greatest survival chance, which is why he's sticking with everyone. It's more like a, "well we've come this far let's just get this over with before we die." It's either move on as a group or split off and go back down and risk wendigo and who knows what else attack on the way back to high hrothgar. It makes sense to question if they went up there for nothing though especially one so opposed to the "hero's journey" as our overlord here

So I'll be honest by original plan was to try to split the group, I wanted to start a new "team" with Mao and Laharl effectively trying to both lead miserably but in essence they were going to cause more trouble for everyone than help. Possibly hinder a lot of progress to further their own selfish plans.
