Current Smarty Jones... Just... Consider removing the 'Smarty' part of your name if you're going to try and kick up a side-argument here, there's no reason for that. Otherwise, let's just move on.

People don't tend to think about rules when in disputes. Instead, just point out that whoever stops arguing first gets to see the other make a fool of themselves if they going after it all stopped.

The best part about being on the Guild this long is that nowadays, I can sit back and chuckle as the newcomers try to start a fight an instead get all the old hands ganging up on them. Popcorn for me.

Got my first covid vaccination today. I was terrified, but the staff there were very well trained and things went well.

Every few minutes playing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I tear up from the memories. It's not often you get a game that truly pulls at the same heartstrings as your childhood playthrough's once did.

Here's my villain. Will be working on my Hero shortly.

Jasper - School Bus - Jessalyn
@Belle

Jasper took a moment to stare down at the can of honest-to-god spaghettios, feeling a lot more relieved now that it was obvious that this wasn't some kind of trick that was being pulled on him, he knew nobody could afford to waste food. The offer that the woman made was almost completely influenced by her. She had given Jasper a can of food, and even a spoon so that he wouldn't have to eat it with his hands, and there was more food in the bus so she definitely wasn't lying that she could feed him. The bus was a shelter, something that would protect him from the rain if it came. The decision was practically rigged from the beginning.

Nonetheless, he still didn't give an affirmative response straight away, because he was eating the spaghettios like he hadn't eaten in days (which was mostly the truth). It was about halfway through that he stopped eating, realising that he had to actually say something in order to accept her offer. He starts to nod his head even as he's swallowing the latest mouthful, before replying, "Yes. I'll do it. I don't want to be out there any more, at least, not out there alone." He took a few moments, before asking, "What's your name? You never told me," and then getting straight back to the task of eating his food.

Ashley - Mall Parking Lot - Scarlett
@wolverbells

Pretty young? I'm twenty-two, Ashley thought to herself, folding her arms over her chest. She supposed that maybe she was a little young compared to the woman in front of her, but she definitely wasn't a teenager. "I'm perfectly fine," she replies, letting herself listen to the woman, who identified herself as Scarlett, speak. The friendliness of Scarlett was something that worried Ashley a little, because she seemed too friendly. The only thing that Scarlett had going for her was the fact that she hadn't been some kind of stranded citizen that Ashley was lured to, and had been made to come to the mall through her own methods and apparently on her own. There was too much risk to make her do a massive loop around just to fool unsuspecting survivors.

The question about whether or not Ashley would like to accompany Scarlett to the mall was definitely something that shocked Ashley a little. Ashley needed to look somewhere for supplies, but was she really going to trust Scarlett enough to go to the mall together? It took a few moments, however Ashley nodded her head. It wasn't that she actually trusted Scarlett, but the matter of the fact was that if Scarlett really was looking to land Ashley in some kind of trap or trouble and Ashley walked away it was more than likely Scarlett or whoever she was with could just pursue her. It would be better to have a potential ally within the mall.

"Safety in numbers," Ashley says, perhaps a little monotone. It was true, to an extent. But numbers came with it's own disadvantages.

After observing the pair for a moment, Ashley decided to move on. It did drag at her a little, for she did want to ensure the safety of both, however she knew that she couldn't just watch some survivors forever. She did need to continue on with her search, so she at least had found something that she could use, eat or drink. She took a few more moments to peek at the pair, before ducking her head back down. The walkers were ever closer, but Ashley was able to crawl her way between the abandoned vehicles, moving quickly as to not be seen. She didn't mind a bit of dirt on her cargo pants from crawling, she had enough of that in the past tackling felons to the ground. She was only worried about her police belt snagging on something, though it wasn't that huge of a worry. It wasn't bound to happen. Perhaps her nerves were just getting to her.

Once she was a safe distance away, Ashley climbed to her feet, dusting herself off a little. The parking lot of the mall was still quite large, so she wasn't out of it yet. She moved her hands to her belt, rotating it a bit so that it sat more comfortably, and double checked her holster to make sure her gun was not missing - which it wasn't, obviously. She wasn't sure why she was feeling so anxious, but she knew it would pass soon. She could dwell on it whenever she next laid down to rest or sleep. Ashley was worried that thinking about it now would just distract her in a place that was potentially quite dangerous. She made her way to the edge of the parking lot, figuring it would be better to walk there in case she needed to make a quick getaway, or had to hide behind any of the closer cars. She did notice that there seemed to be more walkers around, but they wouldn't bother her, they weren't too close to her and had better things to do. Like staring at the sky, the walls or the ground. Stupid walkers.

Ashley watched her surroundings, from the buildings to the walkers. For all she knew, she could spot a building that didn't look like it had a broken window, and so that would be a good place to search or remember for resting later. Her eyes caught view of a walker swatting in a strange way above it's head, and a touch of a smile appeared on her face before she realised it wasn't a walker at all. The 'swatting' she had spotted was actually a woman waving at her. Ashley debated moving her hand down to her holster, to prepare for anything - for all she knew this could be a trap.

She couldn't do that, however. She never could. To run into every situation like it's a bad one creates trouble where trouble may not be, that's what she had been told years ago. Still, Ashley took a moment to think about what she was seeing, before waving back at the woman and starting to make her way over carefully. "You know doing that is not the best of ideas, right?" Ashley says, as she grew closer. She stops, resting her hands on her belt naturally. "You'll end up shot if you wave at random people in these times."

Jasper tucked his knees to his chest, staring at the woman and waiting to see what would happen. He could tell what he had said to her had some kind of effect from the way she had spoken afterwards, with her curse words and movements. After a few moments of watching her, his eyes cast to the ground. He was just unsure of what was going to happen, what she was going to say or what she was going to do. When she turned back around, his worries only grew from the anticipation. He hesitated once he heard the question that she asked, a little worried. It took him a couple of moments to tilt his head back up, to face her directly and answer her question.

"Jasper," the boy says, a little gingerly. "Jasper North."
@Belle, sounds good to me.

What the woman said was truthful, but for the wrong reason. Jasper had thought that the stuff belonged to someone, he just hadn't known if the owner was alive to care if the stuff was taken. Whether or not she was alive, if she hadn't turned up, he probably would have made it away with the supplies without even knowing if she really was alive or dead. Jasper wouldn't have had any reason to think about it, it would just be another batch of supplies, soon to vanish and need to be replaced. Such as life was nowadays.

Jasper watched as she squatted down to his level, and admittedly he was a little worried. He was under her control here, as there was nothing he could do. She wouldn't even need to grab her gun if he tried to move his hands anywhere, she could probably just grab his arms and hold them. That was if he was going to be making any moves like that - he didn't want to. She clearly wasn't trying to threaten him or hurt him, she was just a little bit intimidating with her gun and the adult authority that she held over him. His eyes quickly moved to his bag as it was picked up, watching it as if he didn't expect to see it again.

He found it perhaps a little morbidly funny that she expected him not to tell whoever he was with where he found the supplies. That slight, dark humour turned to misery after a few moments due to the realisation as to why it was so morbid - he didn't have a group, let alone a gang of raiders that would swoop in and take the rest. For a moment his mind flashed to his mother's lifeless eyes, and he quickly blinked away the image with a growing, sad frown.

"I..." He began, but was forced to stop as he choked up a little. He turned his head to the side to clear his throat and compose himself, trying not to think about the beginning. He wanted to tell her that he didn't have a group but he just couldn't work up the words, so he tried to reword it in his mind. "Do you think if I had a group, they would send me to find supplies?" The child asks. He shook his head, answering his own question. After a few moments, he says, quieter and with a little bit of an upset squeak in his voice, "I have nobody to tell where I got the supplies. You don't... Don't need to worry."
@Belle, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out well for your mom.

The gentle racket of Jasper's looting was enough to shroud any audible sign of the woman's approach, even as she entered the bus. He was delighted that he had managed to find such a stash, and he was determined to stuff as much of the food he could into his bag to help feed himself, to not have to go hungry at least for a day or two, perhaps a few more if he saved some of it. He couldn't find any ammunition, but he couldn't get that lucky. He would just have to find that somewhere else, if there was any left to find.

He had just slipped something into his backpack when he heard the woman's voice behind him. He almost fell over in surprise as he spun around, his eyes flickering up and down the woman. One of the first things that his eyes came to rest on was her gun in her waistband. That's probably where the ammo was, if this was her place - no, it definitely was her place, she was scolding him for stealing. His hand sort of twitched a little in the direction of his own sidearm, which was tucked into his own waistband a little uncomfortably, and equally as visible. He didn't want to try and grab it, because if she beat him to the draw...

It wasn't as if it mattered. Even if he beat her to the draw, all he could do was try to scare her off. And if she decided, out of bravery or something else, to try and kill him before he 'tried to kill her', it was game over. Worry broke onto his features, there was no way pulling his pocket knife would do anything, either. Still, he had to try something, he had to if he wanted to get away with anything. His hand moved a little closer to his gun, and then a little further away, as he contemplated it in his worried mind.

"I..." Jasper began, stuttering. "I-I'm sorry, I thought nobody lived here."
