Current Smarty Jones... Just... Consider removing the 'Smarty' part of your name if you're going to try and kick up a side-argument here, there's no reason for that. Otherwise, let's just move on.

People don't tend to think about rules when in disputes. Instead, just point out that whoever stops arguing first gets to see the other make a fool of themselves if they going after it all stopped.

The best part about being on the Guild this long is that nowadays, I can sit back and chuckle as the newcomers try to start a fight an instead get all the old hands ganging up on them. Popcorn for me.

Got my first covid vaccination today. I was terrified, but the staff there were very well trained and things went well.

Every few minutes playing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I tear up from the memories. It's not often you get a game that truly pulls at the same heartstrings as your childhood playthrough's once did.

Holly thought that she saw a few little flickers of light from a few individuals within the crowd taking picture of the armoured mage crouching down beside her guildmates. Of course, they were going to take all the eye candy they could get to shove into their newspapers and headlines, but Holly did not mind. So long as they didn't follow her home like puppies and try to knock on her door, everything was going to be fine. Unfortunately, she knew that reporters went to some mysterious lengths to catch a fish, and the appearance of her unarmoured self was definitely a big fish. She tried to shove that out of her mind, though.

Instead, Holly focused on Zenith. She felt her cheeks heat up a little as Zenith gave her a smile, and the way he just pushed his hair away from his eyes like that made her heart skip a little beat. She failed to hold back just a little giggle at his interpretation of what the headlines were going to be, and then quickly fought to control herself. She didn't want to be the giggly girl that she wasn't, she could do that when she was home, and when she was alone, if at all. "Well," she starts, "I'd be honoured for them to put me as the big picture on the headline. They might even put one of the ones they're taking now of us in the actual article." She tried to ignore his eyes staring into her's, and thankfully Lavinia gave her an opportunity to do so.

Holly tilted her head over to face Lavinia, and with a little laugh, Holly nodded her head. "Yes Lavinia, I'm certain you'll be on the front page, too," she says just to please she who was truly the most evil of them all. Holly knew that the big picture would be of herself, though who was on the page itself didn't matter (much) to Holly, nor who struck the final blow. She knew the entire Guild had put in work to eliminate the dragon, even if Lavinia had struck the final blow.

Holly remained atop the dragon's head for a bit longer as the citizens began to push in to question the mages. A fair amount came toward her due to the way that she was acting, and so she began to answer their questions, which were thrown at her with speed. If anyone could cast spells as fast as the people asked their questions, they would probably be very highly ranked. As it was, she was bombarded with questions as to who she was, what her name was, and the way that they were fighting. A few also asked about her relations to other Guild members, as obviously she was one of the strongest just from having stood upon the defeated dragon's head.

The talk about her other Guild members filled her with a little bit of concern, though. Holly slowly turned her head, looking upon the state that her fellow Guildmates were in. When she spotted Zenith, she paused for a few moments. One of the problems with being the current face of the guild was that with everyone pummelling her with questions, she couldn't walk off to help her Guildmates - not that she had anything to really help them with, but she wanted to do something. She wanted to be in the place of Lavinia, beside Zenith, helping to treat him... And treating other Guildmates too, of course, of course!

Holly quickly snapped out of her thoughts, quickly bringing her gaze away from Zenith and focused back on the crowd, trying to take the state of Zenith - of the Guild - out of her mind to focus on pleasing the public. The dragon was still disintegrating, and she didn't want to end up falling, she hopped down from atop it's head and in front of the small crowd - a move that seemed to please them, they all wanted to see the armoured mage right on front of them.

Very quickly, Holly became very bored with their questions. "If you'll excuse me, I do need to check on my Guildmates," she says, slowly making her way through the crowd, and toward Zenith and Lavinia. Once she arrived beside them, she crouched down beside Zenith, ignoring the eyes of the crowd that were still on her. "You okay, Zen?" She asks, quietly. She didn't like the state that he was in. She wished to knew more she could do than just talk. She didn't look at Lavinia, though; Holly was a little afraid she would say or do something drastic. She had spotted Lavinia's poor usage of her magic a few moments ago, but she was more thankful that she was doing something to help Zenith than she was upset enough to complain.

The moment that Holly heard a loud boom, she turned to face the direction that it was coming from, her hand falling to her sword's hilt. She was being cautious, especially after the danger that they had just faced by the dragon - for all she knew, it could have been another threat that was on it's way. She gripped Shadowbane as the gigantic man stepped from the crater that he had created with his meteor-like display from the clouds, however she lessened her grip on her sword as she came to realise who he was. Holly had read about Ajax Thera in the past, had heard stories of the man. He was intimidating, but not so much so that it caused Holly to falter. If anything, she knew that he wasn't a threat, and as he made his way over to her, she dropped her grip on Shadowbane entirely to show that she, too, was not a threat. That didn't mean she liked him at all, there was certainly an element of danger as Ajax approached.

Though she was the one to be questioned by Ajax, Grasidia (who had decided to approach) took over the answering of Ajax's question. Holly could not help but take a glance at the other S-Class in a little frustration - did Grasidia not think she could handle this? Perhaps it was for the better, because already Ajax was starting to get a bit on her nerves just with his attitude and way of words. The tension hit an all-time high when Ajax asked Holly to take off her helmet. Had Grasidia not placed herself between Ajax and Holly, the latter would have said some very sharp words in response to his request, but even then it took some effort for the armoured girl not to speak any words. It seemed immediately apparent that the situation was due to escalate.

As Ajax brought his hand toward his sword, Holly did the same with Shadowbane, gripping the hilt with the intention to pull if Ajax did the same. She had no doubt in her mind that Ajax would win by use of his magic, but if he did wish to draw with the intent to attack, Holly was not going to go down without a fight of her own. As a matter of fact, she disregarded the fact that Grasidia had put her arm out in front of her, and instead Holly moved slightly to the side to try and get the arm out from between them. Holly didn't want Grasidia protecting her. Even as Ajax backed off at Grasidia's words, Holly kept her hand on her sword for security for a few more moments before letting go as Ajax began to speak.

Ajax announcing himself as a dragon slayer helped Holly to understand Ajax's apparent suspicion and the questions he had been asking before. If he was a dragon slayer, he most likely could tell that what they had slain was not a dragon, and perhaps suspected that they were the ones that had summoned it in the first place. Or perhaps Holly was overthinking things. A flash of light surprised Holly just as it did Grasidia and Ajax, but she realised it was a man with a camera. Holly took momentary pleasure in watching the Rune Knights dragging him away as revenge for surprising her, and turned her head back to Ajax so that she could watch him departing. She still didn't like him. Something was definitely off about him.

"I agree," Holly quietly replied to Grasidia, before adding on, "But only Torys. Let the rest of the Guild recover and celebrate." The Guild didn't need to know the specifics of the interaction that the pair of S-Class had just had with Ajax, nor the suspicious thoughts that the pair were most likely sharing. Holly turned to look over at Leon as he questioned what they were going to do now, and then made her way over toward him. "Now, we recuperate, and then we stand tall for the crowd. We let them know who it was that fought the dragon."

With that, she knew her duty. Holly walked her way back over to the dragon, which had about a third left to disintegrate; a still a large amount due to how big the dragon was. With a little momentum applied to herself, she leapt onto the top of the dragon's head from in front of it, for the crowd to see. Holly landed gracefully with a one-eighty spin, swiftly drawing Shadowbane and planting the tip on the dragon's head, placing her hands atop the hilt and standing there like a statue for everyone to see - including the photographers. "The dragon is defeated, and the day is won!" Holly announced loudly. "Fenixtear has fought to help you all, just as we will help anyone!"

Holly was glad to see that the others were still attacking the dragon, putting the pressure on the great beast. She continually applied momentum to herself to hold herself in the air and continue her flurry of attacks projected down onto the dragon's neck to deal damage to the beast. She saw it try to lift it's head to go for her but it was brought back down, and so she remained in position to damage the dragon's neck. She quickly saw that the blood pouring from the wound was being used by Lavinia for her own attacks, and so Holly did not cease; the more, the better.

Holly let the momentum cease on herself, and brought her sword up, letting it swing down as she fell toward the ground. This sent a larger attack toward the dragon, cutting into it's neck deep and letting more blood spill out for Lavinia to use, which was then promptly used to eliminate the dragon entirely by sending spears of the blood into the dragon's skull and presumably into it's brain. Holly waited, just for a moment, to see if the attack had managed to kill it, and then relaxed as she saw the dragon stop moving entirely. A few moments more, and Holly was comfortable enough to slip Shadowbane back into it's sheath and let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Her hand fell back to her sword, however, when she saw that the dragon was starting to glow a little. Once it started to break apart, Holly removed her hand from her sword once more, instead crossing her arms confidently and watching it fade away into blue particles that glowed as they drifted away. She kept her eyes on the dragon even as Grasidia congratulated her, giving the other S-Class a nod of the head and a thank you as a reply. Onlookers might have thought she expected the dragon to suddenly jump up in some final death charge, but those who knew her a little bit better might have been able to tell that she was lost in thought - and not just about the dragon or the particles that were drifting away.

Fenixtear had slain a dragon. Though, Holly doubted that it was a real one. Not by the way it disintegrated like that - she definitely hadn't read or heard anything about dragons doing that. The way it did so didn't make Holly think of a real, living creature that had died before her, but a shade, a phantom. It brought back painful memories of Crystal Shadow, and how they would fake real situations just for the income, how they lied. Slowly, Holly began to walk, making her way to where the jaw of the dragon was just starting to fade away, and stood there as it disintegrated before her. It was a little saddening to her, as if she was caught up in the same lie that she was once before. She refused to let it grasp her once more, though. Instead, she was going to take advantage of it, just the way that Torys wanted them to.

Fenixtear had slain a dragon. The citizens of Era would know it, and soon, word would spread around. The public didn't need to know that this could have been some kind of fake, some kind of false danger, because it definitely was not that. The dragon had done some serious damage, harmed everything that it interacted with from buildings to people. And now, it was deceased, eliminated, and the public was safe again. People were going to know that Fenixtear was a guild that they could rely on. It was going to grow in publicity, and people were going to look up to them.

Fenixtear had slain a dragon. That was something to be proud of. But somehow, Holly still felt saddened by the way it reminded her of her past.

Holly remained where she was, conserving her strength until Marduk picked her up. She had been listening to the fight and catching what glimpses of it that she could, retaining a map of the battlefield in her head and updating it with what she believed to be happening. She was almost going to tell Marduk to put her down and to just let her rest, before figuring that going back behind the lines to rest for a little bit wasn't too bad of an idea since it meant they would have to worry about her less. Once she was set down, Holly kept herself still but ensured that she was in a comfortable position; many people didn't realise the power that could have in rejuvenating someone who was exhausted.

Only a few moments passed before Astoria knelt next to her. As the girl's hand moved to the seam between Holly's helmet and chestplate Holly instinctively moved her hand in the direction of the contact, but she forced herself to relax - Holly knew that Astoria wouldn't do anything to remove her armour, and that feeling of security grew further as water from Ria began to flow into her armour and soak her. The feeling of her energy being restored and her pain easing at such a rate felt just a little odd to Holly, but in a good way. Holly was able to ignore what pain was left thrumming through her system, and at Ria's prompting, climbed to her feet. She didn't have all day to rest: She had to go back in.

That was exactly what Holly did. She didn't want to overexert herself again, but she wanted to give the dragon hell, and hopefully put an end to it entirely. She took a step out from behind cover to get a grip on the situation from the past minute or so. The rain began to pour as Holly watched Zenith, trying to plot where she wanted to place herself in the fight, before cringing as Zenith let out a massive beam of light, making Holly cover her eyes briefly. That's when she decided that she was going to put herself back in again. She decided that the target would have to be the head, in order to try and kill the best instead of clipping it.

Unfortunately, Zenith was in the way of the head. So, Holly had to take the next best option: The neck. Using Pounce, she thrust herself into the air, off to the side, so she had a clear line toward the dragon's neck. "Thrust: Attack Projection!" She yells. From the air, she drew Shadowbane with speed, slicing as she did, and sending an arced cut echoing through the air. With subtle changes in her momentum, she kept herself righted, so that she could cut down toward the dragon's neck with every slice. She wasn't just hoping to cut it off, she was hoping that she hit an artery or something major, to make it bleed.
Poor Cake is going to be busy on all fronts. @datadogie Feel free to postpone solving the greenhouse crisis until the mission is over if you want to.

Holly was glad that her Guildmates were putting their all into the fight, and took her time to quickly look over the situation while the others kept the pressure up on the dragon. Some of her Guildmates were fighting, whilst others - mainly the supportive mages - were helping the civilians and the general populace. That was a positive, Holly would not have been happy if in all the fighting they had forgotten to actually help people. She knew that she would not have liked to be left in the rubble, even if she was watching a band of mages take on a dragon before her.

She had definitely done more damage than she thought, as that wing was not looking healthy. She released the lockdown, both to conserve her own energy and because it wasn't worth it to hold the broken thing down any more - if anything, it could just get used to the pain that she was giving it by dragging the thing down. What the Guild was doing though was clearly not enough - the dragon continued to spit out fire, scorching the ground. As she began to re-strategize, she heard (and quickly spotted) something that disappointed her greatly: Felix, going straight for the dragon. She did not try to help him however, as he made his choice, and she could do more just by continuing her attacks on the dragon. Felix better hope he perishes within the dragon's flames, because it's nothing compared to the dragon I'll become when we get home, she thought to herself, gripping Shadowbane tightly in her hand. She thankfully was not forced to think too much about Felix, as Zenith took him away to a nearby building.

Things definitely went south from there. Holly moved her hands to her ears to cover them, despite the fact that her helmet did so and she wasn't able to really cover them - but even through her helmet the screech was just such a terribly loud thing to behold. It was a blessing when it finally ended. The armoured mage quickly cast her gaze back to the dragon, and it took her a few moments to realise that the thing was growing more spikes. She wondered if it was some kind of ability of the dragon, or if this was just some kind of young dragon and it was actually just growing up before her. She settled on the former, because the dragon definitely seemed like it knew what it was doing, which made her question all the more why it was deciding to stand on it's back legs.

Holly's confidence lowered immediately as she realised that the thing was actually regenerating it's wounds - mostly she cared about the significant damage that she had done to the wing, which all seemed pointless now. She began to shake her head clear, trying to rebuild her confidence, before a wall of thorns came up before her; one of Grasidia's spells. Knowing that Grasidia had picked up on something that she hadn't, she remained behind the wall, but readied herself for what was to come, which she presumed was an attack directed at her: She was partially right, but the dragon let loose a torrent of flames everywhere. The heat was so intense, and even though the wall was holding up against the flames the heat alone was starting to get to Holly. She was thankful when it stopped, and was about to act before she was sent to the ground in horrible agony from another yet much louder screech. She felt a headache coming on quickly from the sound alone. She had not recovered by the time the dragon crashed down and the building Holly was positioned upon, already weakened, crumbled beneath her and she quickly began to fall to the ground. "Thrust, pou-"

Too late, Holly hit the ground, still holding Shadowbane tightly. She knew better than to stand there though, and despite the sudden pain that she felt she stood just in time to see the dragon starting to run it's tail through the ground. This time, there was plenty of time to say the words that she needed to avoid getting hurt (or at least, more hurt): "Thrust, pounce!" She yelled, propelling herself airborne at rapid velocity - high enough so she didn't get hit by the tail. She spun in the air, falling to the ground and landing like a metallic cat. The dragon was really starting to annoy her now. The tail swipe meant that any remaining cover was destroyed as the dragon's tail plowed through it.

If the dragon was regenerating any damage they did to it, they had to make sure it died as fast as they could, to do as much damage as possible. Maybe they wouldn't be able to kill it at all, but Holly knew one thing for certain: If she could regenerate infinitely, she wouldn't like feeling pain over, and over, and over again. If all she got was pain, it wasn't worth it to keep going, and instead she would flee. She hoped it thought in a similar fashion - because right now, she wanted to give it all the pain it could get, more than getting cooked inside her armour, more than falling off a roof. Holly slipped Shadowbane back into it's sheath, this time without any theatrical twirls.

"I'll show you, you scalie, gigantic, horrible creature!" Holly roars, slowly spreading her arms wide upwards and downwards, like a jaw. "You've destroyed the homes of many, ended the lives of many more. And now, I'll take you on, with everything you've just given me! You won't hurt anyone else, and you won't hurt this Guild!" She focused hard, pouring herself into this attack. Usually when doing something like this, there wouldn't be too many objects to grab, too many to propel, but the dragon had just given her a lot of ammunition from the debris all around it, which it had created. "Thrust: Guardian's Implosion!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, slamming her hands down together, making a singular clap.

If she had done a Guardian's Throw, Holly would still have launched a sizeable chunk of debris at the dragon. However, the Guardian's Implosion took all of the debris from around the dragon, and threw them all at speed, causing it to be peppered from everything to dropped swords, a few stalls, and even debris from the buildings it had swept through with it's tail. Not only that, but the air around the dragon changed course, pummelling the dragon with strikes from the sudden wind. It's eyes, it's head, it's wings, it's tail, everything was assaulted by a hail of debris as small as bricks and buckets to large chunks of debris that had fallen off of buildings. Holly had never affected so many objects before with a Guardian's Throw let alone a Guardian's Implosion, and it was a massive display of the S-Class mage's power. Even so, Holly doubted that it would kill the dragon, it was much too strong for that, and had she been fighting alone she would not have risked such a powerful spell. With her Guildmates there, she knew that doing as much damage to the dragon in the shortest amount of time was the goal, so that she could let them finish it off or drive it off before it regenerated whatever damage they did to it again.

"Don't let up, hit it with everything you have! Do it before it regenerates everything all over again!" Holly yells - mostly because she wanted them to pay attention to it, rather than the fact that she was now stumbling. She began to retreat, making distance from the dragon. She had never effected so many objects before in an Implosion, and it took a lot out of her. Just as it occurred to her that perhaps throwing several blocks worth of debris all at once might not have been a good idea, she collapsed onto the ground, taking heavy breaths. She didn't even bother trying to get back to her feet, wanting to conserve what strength she had, and grit her teeth, refusing to let out a cry at the pain that overwhelmed her as the spell and the amount of objects she had effected with it took it's toll on her.
Holly Vertila

Holly had boarded one of the leaves quickly and without hesitation, though her mind was occupied as to the thought of how well she could fare against a dragon. She had only read about them, never seen one for herself, but she had heard stories about their power. In truth, Holly was worried; not because she feared the power that it had, the damage it could do, but because she feared what it could do to her Guildmates. She had taken very strong foes before, and she knew how to deal with things that she outclassed and, more importantly for this particular situation, deal with things that outclassed her. Some of her Guildmates, she feared, wouldn't know how to properly deal with the threat and ensure their own safety.

It worried her more than she wanted to dwell on. Holly wasn't stupid; stories could lie, could make things up for the thrill. At the same time, a story could hide the real truth. Dragons could be as weak as a pigeon, or could very well be stronger than anything she had ever imagined. She wasn't going to take any chances, she was going to fight that dragon the best that she could to try to ensure that the threat lasted the least amount of time possible.

It was when Holly spotted the smoke on the horizon that she began to snap out of her thoughts. Thinking about something so much was never so good, especially when the situation and any plan that she could make could change on the fly. It definitely looked like the dragon was putting a hurt on the city, all the more reason to make sure it was slain as fast as possible to minimise collateral, both in the structures of the city as well as those who resided within - she did hope that they had the sense to evacuate, at the very least to the opposite side of the city that the dragon was on. She had no idea how long it had been there however, so it could very well have flown a big circle around the city by now for all Holly knew. By the time Holly first saw the dragon in all it's majesty, Grasidia was already in combat with the creature. The thing was massive! All the more a danger, and all the better to slay for Fenixtear to grow in publicity.

Holly watched as the massive tail whipped, making the assumption that something was making the dragon pissed off: Most likely Grasidia. She could see the glimmer of the scales even from a distance away, and knew that she would have tough luck penetrating the body of the dragon. There was a weak spot that Holly spotted immediately, one that most avian creatures shared; the wings. She had to try and clip them, to make sure the thing couldn't lift off and go crazy in the skies, or use them as weapons - they certainly looked heavy enough to seriously injure someone just by slapping them.

Or cause their transports to whip around and flip over, which was exactly what happened. Holly was sent flying, but she kept her composure - any less, and she would slam straight into the ground. Instead of repositioning herself to land safely, she did the complete opposite: She aimed to stay in the skies, at least for the next few moments. She twisted in the air, arm extended with Shadowbane pointed just above the dragon's wing, and then yelled, "Thrust, Racing Spear!" Holly's momentum redirected entirely, and instead of heading toward the ground she was sent flying toward the dragon's wing at high speads. She had no doubt that the dragon would try to flap it's wings to strike at her, and so she reaped the benefits of Racing Spear's speed and flew straight past it - and upwards into the sky above it.

It was the beginning of the fight, and so she was willing to exhaust herself just a little: She didn't understand why villains never used their full potential at the start of the fight. "Thrust, Attack Projection!" She yelled. Still in the air above the dragon, she had a perfect vantage point from which to lay down strikes. She spun in the air, slashing with her sword as if she was right there within swordfight range. Each slash and cut from Shadowbane echoed through the air in arcs which glowed a slight white hue. But, the key to fighting a powerful foe was to keep them on their toes, to never relent, to not give them a chance to adapt to their foe. Holly changed things up again. Still under the effects of Racing Spear, she was pinged back in the direction of the dragon's wing like a rubber band. As she fell toward the wing, she slashed down with her sword, sending out another projection strike, but kept her sword forward. "Thrust: Guardian's Throw!" She yelled, just as she slammed into the wing of the dragon, Shadowbane stabbing straight through. With the timing of her Guardian's Throw, the debris under the wing of the dragon shot straight upwards, into the underside of the dragon's wing.

Holly was putting a lot into the fight already, but in her eyes, it was worth it. While she was hoping that the Guild eliminated the dragon, sitting in the spotlight for everyone to see, Holly was concerned about the bigger picture; having people to look at that spotlight in the first place, or even having a working spotlight that wouldn't be broken by a prolonged engagement with the creature they currently fought. Holly pulled Shadowbane from the dragon's wing, and with swift usage of a Pounce, leapt forward and away from the dragon. The next thing she was going to do was risky, but she thought the risk worth it. Landing on a building's roof, she turned back to face the dragon. Her Guildmates were throwing their attacks at it, making them all targets, but she had other goals in mind for the dragon. She wanted to try and keep it's mind on her, to keep it off of her Guildmates, to make it prioritise her over them. With a twirl, she slipped Shadowbane back into it's sheath, and then lifted her hands into the air like she was doing a spooky impression of a vampire - or like a spooky impression of Lavinia.

"Thrust, Lockdown!" Holly yelled, bringing her hands down hard, as if she was holding the dragon down. In reality, that's quite literally what she was doing - the dragon was far too large and strong to truly hold down, but she focused the Lockdown on the wing she had just been attacking, pulling it down as hard as she could and refusing to let the dragon move it - and if it did want to move, it'd have to drag the wing across the ground like dead weight until she let go, and she wasn't going to do that until it tried to go for her. "Fenixtear, focus on the wings and the head!" She yelled.
@Zanavy
Hate to say it, but that's a lot of controlling of Cake you're doing there, when you're saying she occasionally chimes in with information and what that information is, and that she shut down the garbage system. She's not an NPC, please don't control her.
