Current Remember, nobody actually enjoys roleplaying if there isn't at least five shameful fetishes uncovered by the 2nd page.

Somebody stole my mood ring. I don't know how to feel about it.

Let's be honest, it's far more satisfying and challenging to actually imagine what a character looks like than paste a hundred gifs of a celebrity and call it good.

So, a team of players who are good at playing as a team in a team-based game are individually bad players. Seems kind of silly when you put it like that, no?

My goal these days is to have an RP that can actually finish, or the very least, last a few years. I see way too many die on page one to take chances

I don't play canon characters for the simple reason that I don't trust my ability to do it right, and a lot of people really aren't true to the characters they want to portray. Making your own characters means you can come up with your own stories, motivations, and you aren't constricted by trying to keep within an existing character's narrative.
Big problem I see with the idea of a jump in game in Advanced or NRPs is that without a character sheet, you can't really be sure if everyone's on the same page and the GM won't know if there's significant things about the character that needs to be addressed until after the game starts. Even in Advanced RPs, I usually get one or two character sheets that just aren't up to standard for various reasons, including the character being super overpowered, being a total Sue, the back story being inappropriate for the kind of game, the player didn't read anything about the OOC before running off to the skeleton, et cetera. In Free and to some degrees Casual it can work because standard are usually more lax and especially in the case of free, character sheets are already pretty much non-existent, so I've noticed that GMs tend to prefer dealing with poor fit players well after they've joined, which is a lot easier when you aren't doing a lot of world building and every character can have a huge impact on the story.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be worth a shot, but don't be surprised if the post length, quality, and character standards are all over the place to a much higher degree than the other sections.

Because when I think about it it makes sense, he's such a big and powerful character that if they do him right and properly.

LolGoodbyeFantasticFour

Which is a good thing as he wants to save the world...

But also his powerbase doesn't make sense outside of the main marvel storyline, I mean he's a cross between Dr.Strange and Iron Man with the tactical knowledge and physical prowess of Captain America and the political savvy off someone really good at politics. The tech can easily fit into F4 but the magic would seem outta place.

I don't care about the four, they need to give Doom back to marvel.

Remember the last Fantastic Four movie where Galactus was reduced to a cosmic cloud of unhappiness?

I'm surprised anybody could possibly be excited for the new Fantastic Four because what a hell of a track record. I'd love to see a proper Dr. Doom, but let's also keep in mind that even Marvel fucks up some of it's characters beyond redemption; remember how they handled the Mandarin in Iron Man 3?
<Snipped quote by Ellri>

Fantastic Four, he thinks the new Doom being a hacktivist is cool. He also thinks that somehow Dr.Strange will join all the universes perfectly without ay problems because Benedict Cumberbatch is so amazing and hot and sexy and awesome, did I mention sexy?

He kinda pissed me off with his lack of common sense and knowledge of how money and big companies work, also how copyright works.

Eww. I thought it looked terribad, but now this confirms it.

Why the hell can't they ever do Dr. Doom properly? He's such a cool character. I swear, between the bleak colour pallet and this silly plot tweaking, I think they're trying to do what DC is doing, which never works well unless your name is Christopher Nolan and your villain doesn't have the most memetastic voice in the world.
Penoreya needs a Snickers. She's not herself when she's homicidal.

Also, addition to the the last question of character downtime, Ardan's all about the gym. I like to imagine he's a member of some place with a bit higher membership fees that ensures that whatever equipment he's working out on wasn't somewhere that some asshole got stabbed and the owners forgot to clean properly.
So question for your characters,

What is the ideal situation for relaxing between missions? Drinking, dancing, strippers, reading, etc.

Awesome! A fun question. :D

Ardan's pretty much the kind of guy who will go home, put on a shitty movie or sports game on the TV, or go out to the bar/ strip club and make some pretty terrible life choices (his ex-wife was a stripper, for instance). He's not one for reading, although he does like magazines. If he had friends, pub games like billiards and darts would probably be up his alley, depending on what exists in this setting. That arcade in the Citadel DLC would probably be right up his alley. He's not much of a gambler, although he does like playing cards.
Ok, we know most of you are around, but we want to be sure who actually is paying attention to the IC/OoC. Thats why we're sending everyone a notification, even ourselves and the other GMs.

@Bigscreech @Bright_Ops @Dervish @Sundered Echo @Ellri @Fallenreaper @Heat @Howler @Rtron @Sep @Themerlinhawk @Tzarima @Vesuvius00

How are you and your character(s) doing IC-wise, and do you need anything to work better there? Do you, for example, have any questions?

EDIT: Someone remarked that this would be our 2000th post on the new guild.

Red 5 standing by!

For the most part, I'm pretty good. The pace the past week's been a bit crazy for me to keep up with, but that's mostly just me needing to adjust. The only thing I want to put in for a suggestion for players is if they have characters who are available for interaction and just to keep communicating. I sat on the sideline the whole last exchange without realizing that it was open for anyone to squirrel in.

Other than that, things are good! I do like the newest version of the time stamp, it's much easier to keep things straight this way. One question though, is it a standard 24 hour clock or is there some Star Wars standard clock we're going off of?

There wasn’t much Tolun Fi needed to concern himself with in regards to Nazca, since she had a rather devoted troop tending to her, including Xid, Shiri, and Lea, whom Tolun Fi had discovered was a Force healer. It was good experience for the youth to figure out how to deal with crisis on their own, and they seemed up to the challenge. Tolun Fi was the only proper doctor amongst the Jedi aboard the ship, and he suspected he’d have to step in at some point for some of the more serious injuries. Besides, it would be interesting to see what Xid retained from his lessons in the lab for helping with some of the casualties that found their way into Tolun Fi’s lab. He would check on Nazca later,

While the medical room was occupied, and most of the other Jedi were in their respective bunk rooms or just wandering restlessly, the kaminoan slunk into the sanitation room and immediately started looking for blind spots with the cameras, looking for the telltale signs that Xid had helpfully instructed him to look for, including looking for glints that could be seen only in infrared and sometimes ultraviolet spectrums. Seeing nothing of the sort, indicating that the cameras were infrared, Tolun Fi felt confident enough to proceed. The block afforded little room for privacy, and it was possible to see into parts of the other rooms in the block, which worked fine for his purposes, as he derobed and headed to one of the shower stalls to disguise his snooping. The water was refreshing and reminded him of his homeworld, and it gave him an opportunity to pick out the locations of the various cameras and their fields of view. There appeared to be a few meter section near the left-side of the toilets that the cameras simply didn’t cover; even for security purposes, no one wanted to watch another being defecate, especially if their physiology was quite different from a human or a Sith. The standard toilets were simply put, rather inadequate and would provide quite the gruesome spectacle for anyone watching some of the more distinct species of the galaxy attempt to relieve themselves.

The thought of a mortified security guard checking the footage and being confronted with the sight of a Herglic in ample bowel distress brought a brief and fleeting smile to his face, a rarity. It simply would not do to have the others discover he actually found some of their crude and juvenile jokes amusing. He gathered his garb to the spot and began to redress, facing towards the wall. Being careful not to move too obviously, he produced a hidden marker in the chest console of his undersuit and began to write a few basic equations on the wall, along with the various races in attendance in the cell block, along with some key points to their physiology and common treatment practices. It was useful stuff to know, but it would also serve to act as an indication of if the Sith took notice of his activities from a camera he couldn’t see, and if they could detect his writing. It would take some time, but he would leave it be for the next little while. If the Sith did know he was writing on the walls, the only way they’d be able to read what it was would be to have an ultraviolet lamp and the proper tinted glasses on board and came to inspect it in person. Should that happen, they’d likely confiscate the marker, which wasn’t a huge loss, he has a space hidden elsewhere, possibly beat him, and then proceed to lose their minds trying to find where else he’d left hidden clues for them to find. That alone would be worth a fractured limb, he decided; the mighty Sith brought low in terror of losing power to a scientist with a homemade writing utensil was a delightful thought.

It was time to go collect Xid.

Leaving the sanitation facility, Tolun Fi made his way to the bunk blocks and quickly found where the young Knight and Lea were putting Nazca down to rest. He observed the young woman on the bed, observing the treatment that had been given and decided it was a job well done. “It is truly a wondrous thing when I am not needed in the end. Excellent work, the both of you. Now Xid, if you will accompany me to the medical facilities, it’s time we look at your own wounds, namely your ribs. I could not help but notice that your breathing has been strained, barely noticeable, I assure you, and you’re walking slightly hunched over on the side. I’d rather not have you strain yourself and accidently cause a clean break that punctures your lung.”
I'll try to use that mention thingermabob more often and try to interject myself more. I really gotta get used to the pace of this game, it's very different from most everything I've been a part of the past 3.5 years so I'm still getting used to the flow. o.o
So, I just had a total revelation talking to Fallen. Apparently, that med bay's been open the whole time (something I've somehow missed in the last run of posts, which I need to apologize, I've been falling behind because the pace is starting to get overwhelming with all the other RP shit I have on the go), which is something that Tolun could totally make himself useful doing with this Nazca situation.

I want to apologize to Fallen, Rtron, and Vesuvian, I thought you guys were kind of working on a scene together and wrapping it up without wanting other players to join in, so I've kind of been sitting around waiting for an opportunity to interact with those characters, so sorry about that.

If you guys want, particularly Rtron and probably Fallen because Tolun needs to talk to Xid, but I'm going to start a post tomorrow. Want me to interject with what's going on and have Tolun bring Nazca to the lab for treatment?
